Fantastic experience: *Exceptional Care from Dr. Can Celik – Highly Recommended* I’m writing this review because I had an outstanding experience under the care of Dr. Can Celik. For a long time, I had been suffering from tooth sensitivity and discomfort that became too intense to ignore, so I finally decided to see a dentist. From the moment I met Dr. Celik, I felt reassured. He was calm, kind, considerate, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. I needed a tooth extraction, which I was quite nervous about, but Dr. Celik took the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly. It wasn’t a rushed appointment — he listened carefully to my concerns, walked me through each step, and made sure I fully understood what to expect. His professional manner was paired with a great sense of humour, which really helped to put me at ease. What I expected to be a difficult and painful procedure turned out to be quick, smooth, and completely painless. I didn’t feel a thing, and it was all over in a matter of moments. Afterwards, he also clearly explained what I needed to do for aftercare and recovery. Dr. Celik has also treated my daughter, who may need braces in the future, and once again he showed the same level of kindness and care with her as he did with me. He has a natural ability to work with both adults and children with patience and compassion. It’s rare to describe a visit to the dentist as a great experience — but that’s genuinely what it was. I highly recommend Dr. Can Celik to anyone looking for a dentist who is not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable but also treats you as a person, not just a patient. Negative experience: Had an abysmal experience with the receptionist Joy, she’s extremely rude and aggressive. I asked a question over the phone in regard to my deposit amount and her response was “I’m not gonna argue with you” so rude and unprofessional. I cannot believe that someone with her mannerisms has a job as a receptionist? Also having problems in getting my whole deposit back after cancelling an appointment within their notice period. Their complaints process is even worse. I’m still waiting for a response from the practice manager from the 28th of February. Never received a response and never received my whole deposit even though I called and cancelled the appointment without the cancellation period!

Fantastic experience: I have been attending this dental practice for several years and I would not wish to change. Both the dentist and the hygienist are as good, if not better, than anyone I had in decades of going privately, and are also very personable. No treatment has ever been recommended that was unnecessary and I have complete trust in their integrity and professionalism.

Fantastic experience: Very good service. Attentive, professional and friendly staff. Had been regularly neglecting flossing so I got a scale and polish and teeth felt much better after! Would recommend.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend the team at Clapham South Dental enough. It is a well run and friendly NHS practice - and you actually can get an appointment! Dr Greg Cleland in particular is extremely professional and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: We recently visited Dr. Monty at Clapham South Dental Centre for my 86-year-old uncle, Mohd Sharif, who is hard of hearing and quite elderly. From start to finish, the experience was absolutely outstanding. Dr. Monty is not only a skilled and professional dentist but also incredibly humble, patient, and compassionate. He took his time to make my uncle feel completely calm and comfortable, carefully addressing all concerns without any fuss. It’s clear that Dr. Monty is not just in the profession to make money—he genuinely cares for his patients, especially the elderly, and goes the extra mile to bring relief and a smile to their faces. That kind of dedication is rare and deeply appreciated by families like ours. Special thanks to the reception team as well, who were equally helpful and accommodating. They went out of their way to book an urgent appointment and squeezed my uncle in when it mattered most. We are truly grateful for such kind and professional service. Negative experience: I had a mixed experience at this dental clinic. The dentist was excellent — professional, kind, and thorough. However, my experience with the hygienist was very disappointing. I don’t know her name, but she was an older woman and extremely rough during the cleaning. The procedure was very painful, and afterward, I had swollen, sore gums that lasted for about a month. I’ve had cleanings before at other clinics and they were always gentle and pain-free, so this was quite upsetting. Also, I think there should be an option for a regular cleaning, not just the “mega clean.” Not everyone can tolerate such an intense procedure, especially if they have sensitive gums. Reception used to offer the standard cleaning option, but now they seem to book the “mega clean” by default, which doesn’t work for everyone.

Fantastic experience: Dentists Sarah & Rachel are both outstanding, warm, friendly and super professional. The reception team are all lovely too. A really great practice.

Negative experience: Have been going for a number of years, the hygienist is good and very friendly. Unfortunately on my most recent visit I got double charged for one appointment. Rather than a simple fix, it's taken over 5+ phone calls from me to chase and get it resolved. This was over a month ago and I am still waiting on a refund, Clapham South have also tried to pass all responsibility onto their bank and have offered no apology or gesture of good will. Very disappointing experience all round, would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I needed emergency treatment and was seen the same day by Sarah who was efficient and professional I had a subsequent visit to the Hygenist, Kaleem, who also was caring and thorough great service all round

Negative experience: Hygienist appointment felt like the doctor rushed every time on teeth cleaning, i have a chip on my teeth i never had before…cleaning is too aggressive behind, front of teeth and rushed, not professional to handle teeth to a healthy clean safe standard. Never will return, awful, damaged my teeth which where once aligned and now have been chipped.

Fantastic experience: As an extremely nervous older patient I dread the dentist and especially the hygienist but I can honestly say Waleed Norani has changed my life. He was so kind, patient and very gentle - no pain at all. For the first time in my very long life I have no fear of my next appointment. It’s a miracle!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Sarah for Invisalign treatment! She went above and beyond to accommodate appointments around my busy schedule. She's always thorough and provides clear instructions on getting used to retainers and aftercare. I now have a set of teeth I'm proud to show off. Thank you!

Negative experience: Unprofessional, they are cancelling visits at last minute, 3 times in a row. I asked for refund (as you need to pay before visit) and they are replying that I have not paid? Unprofessional abd unhelpful and not fair to patients. My visits have been cancelled one by one and rescheduled for next month and still cancelled. Ridiculous and yet still waiting for my refund as they are saying I haven't paid - fortunately I kept the receipts.

Negative experience: Very unprofessional -my appointments have been cancelled 3 times within a month, without any notice - on a same day as the appointment! The same thing happened one year ago, without any notice just on the same day. Twice ! Plus when I wanted to cancell one time as they rescheduled my visit for time I couldn't come- it has been a problem as I didn't give a 48hours notice.! Ridiculous and upsetting lack of professionalism how to treat patients.

Positive experience: Amazing hygienist kaleem, and also understanding reception team ,I unfortunately have mental health and I felt as though my past dentist at the same dentist wasn't a good fit, I was allowed to switch and I feel more comfortable to come for my checkups. Hygienist is £76 which is crazy especially because I'm on benefits and a NHS patient, it's worth it but it's so hurtfully expensive and it's not much different anywhere else. First time I had a hygiene clean, wasn't good at all, she tried to make me pay for 2 sessions because she was purposely talking so long, I refused to come back and ended up with kaleem and he is so lovely and does a amazingly thorough job.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Waleed. He is excellent and always makes me feel relaxed and I never feel any discomfort during the treatment.

Positive experience: My first visit to this dentist. Love the fact they are open 7 days a week and until 8pm. Very efficient and organised front of house receptionists. They only dropped a star as I had a very young dentist who had had no experience of Sjogrens Syndrome, which I wanted to discuss in detail. I appreciate that not all dentists have come across this auto immune disorder, but a lot of the symptoms are in the mouth. Also liked the fact that I didn't have to pay extra for the 2 x-rays.....

Fantastic experience: Love the place, and love their services: I could not recommend them highly enough! I have been coming for a few years now, and I booked a consultation this week before treatment with the hygienist. The consultation went very well indeed, it always does as the dentist I see is friendly and always happy to explain the next steps (he's attentive with his patients which makes you feel special). And the treatment with the hygienist was amazing: I had a lot of plaque (I'm sorry to say) but somehow he managed to clean my mouth in record time (20 minutes or so) and without being rough. His approach was precise and it was almost painless (just a slight discomfort here and there). My teeth are spotless, and my mouth feels super clean.

Fantastic experience: Currently also have a positive experience here with staff who ring to remind me of appointments to those who deal with the health of my teeth. Would recommend them

Fantastic experience: Really great service here. Was seen promptly by helpful reception staff. My dentist gave me excellent advice on how to manage my problem, where I had previously been offered an expensive extraction at a different surgery. I felt like I was in very good hands!

Negative experience: Yes, as others said, they want you to pay when you book the appointment—which is fair enough. However, as an NHS patient, they disregard this and will always try to upsell you. A scale & polish NHS is £26.80 but they managed to get £84 out of me for their Gold MegaClean with AIR-FLOW! And the hygienist I saw was rough. And unlike a doctor, they don't offer consistent advice on dental care - one person tells you to do one thing and another tells you something else.

Negative experience: Practice refuses to move an appointment over the phone 10 min before closing time because they say they are already closed !

Negative experience: I saw a dentist yesterday who was quite possibly the worst dentist I’ve ever seen! He told me to just manage pain with pain killers and that I have an infection but not a real infection. Thank goodness my old dentist from another place can see me today

Fantastic experience: Clapham South Dental is a modern, high tech surgery whose staff are knowledgeable, professional and customer focussed. I have been using their services for a number of years having previously been a patient at two other dental practices where I did not have a good experience. At Clapham South Dental the staff are on point with the NHS and non-NHS treatment plans and the costs are affordable. I would thoroughly recommend this practice to anyone seeking a great dental service and experience.

Fantastic experience: Dr Greg Cleland was very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained clearly to me his advice on my dental hygiene after my check up and addressed any worries I had. I would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: This is long overdue. My dentist Dr Natalia did an AMAZING job. I was in a lot of pain in late 2023, the clinic booked me in very quickly and I needed root canal and several fillings. Dr Natalia made sure I did not feel any pain, her work was brilliant and almost a year later my teeth feel really good. The work was very precise and was kept updated the whole way through the appointments.

Fantastic experience: Excellent receptionists, polite and informed. Comfortable, colourful and clean waiting area and Dr G Cleland was very personable, and importantly an excellent dentist who instilled confidence with his friendly manner into this rather nervous patient. Obviously I am going back. Well done them for being NHS too. And just opposite the tube station- couldn’t be better!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Walid was amazing. Not a big fan of dentists in general, I think I stumbled upon the first one who doesn't hurt at all and who is extremely gentle. The receptionist Vani is very helpful and kind as well.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Clapham South Dental Centre for the first time and I was very impressed with both the dentist, Dr Shahram Mazaheri and the hygienist, Waleed Norani. The dentist was very polite and reassuring and solved a long term issue of a sensitive tooth in just one visit. He explained the problem and showed me the photograph he took and dealt with it very professionally and effectively. He explained everything that he was doing clearly. The hygienist Waleed Norani was equally impressive and understood immediately my issue with sensitive teeth and used the correct treatment to put me at ease. The result was extremely impressive and I would have no qualms in recommending this very personable and extremely experienced individual.

My experience has been consistently positive, both in terms of treatment and of the clear explanations about what is happening. I particularly appreciated being given an emergency appointment in late September 2024, when I needed treatment quickly. Thank you!

Negative experience: I booked a dental clean on Thursday 12th September for Saturday 14th at 10am. They wanted payment before the service was carried out which I thought was unusual however there card machine was not working. I said I will come back and pay on the day. I went in this morning and they told me appointment is cancelled and I can rebook because I did not pay. Extremely bad business practices I would not recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment this week with the dentist Rachel. Felt really comfortable straight away and she took a lot of time and effort to make sure I was really informed throughout. Super happy with the composite bonding results and really recommend!! Reception staff and nurses are all so welcoming also.

Negative experience: If you are an NHS patient they will give you an appointment in 3 weeks time, they take the payment of £26.80 in advance which is fair enough but after finding a closer practice with appointments available for the following week I decided to cancel it with CSDC. They have requested to fill a form in order to receive a refund within 5 hours of making the appointment which is a waste of time now days! please look at your procedures. Your clients need a simple easy service. Of course, if you are a private patient, they would give you an appointment for the next few days.

Positive experience: The service I have received at Clapham South Dental has been absolutely fantastic so far, and my dentist Umber is amazingly kind and informative. However, why is it that the reception are so horrifically rude? They speak to you like garbage on the phone and give you little to no confidence at all. If it wasn’t for my prior knowledge on how great this dentist is, I would be instantly turned off by the horrific attitude from the ladies on reception.

Fantastic experience: This has been my dentist for over 15 years now, although I moved further away (still in the catchment) I didn't change as I really like my dentist (third person now) and team. Can be slow in getting a regular check-up, but they've always helped with emergencies and other work within days. Highly recommended. Thank you Ali.

Fantastic experience: Just took my father for his first visit here as he is getting too old to travel to Manchester for me to see him at my dental practice. Dr Ali was very warm and welcoming. Very gentle with my father, giving the opportunity to look at his x-ray and going over available options. A beautifully presented practice with a lovely team. Fantastic experience: Just had our first visit to the practice and were able to register as NHS patients. Everyone from the receptionist to the hygienist and dentist were all very welcoming, reassuring and communicated well. The opening hours are extensive, enabling us to work round other commitments. Can highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I both had our teeth cleaned with the hygienist. She was very professional and thorough. Would recommend.

Negative experience: My regular hygienist was not seen at the appointment for a deep clean. On this occasion it was booked with Kaleem Iqbal who had said for me to put my hands up if at any point it becomes unbearable, however the discomfort was tolerable only at times my tooth were feeling like they were being pulled out from their roots which is not an experience I can relate to at any other visits to the dentist or hygienists. A little less aggression would need to be applied as at one point my lower lip was grazed lightly. On my return home I have taken pain killers to help with the soreness.

Negative experience: The dentist I visited (Sarah Shepardson I believe) showed no compassion to the painful skin condition I have when opening my mouth wide. She was bossy and sarcastic during my visit. I left the practice in tears and now the skin around my mouth is cracked again due to her lack of empathy. Really disappointed.

Negative experience: Not a good experience. Paid for mega gold hygiene clean. Clean was fine except the hygienist missed a tooth right at the back. Booked a follow-up over the phone but the receptionist mistakenly booked the day before. Fair enough I was texted a confirmation but I was busy, didn’t double check it, and received no call or text to say I was late for an appt so only found out when I turned up at the clinic the next day. Receptionist then told me I’d have to pay again because I’d “missed” my appt the day before, which I was never available for. We all lead busy lives and the odd mistake is fair enough but especially given the price of the treatment I find this very unreasonable. Lots of wasted time, sub-par service, won’t be going back.

Fantastic experience: The Hygienist Waleed done an amazing job. I explained an issue I had with my gum who immediately identified the problem and resolved the issue. Great recommendation about the water dental flosser btw. Takes getting use to, but a good bit of kit. This man is a miracle worker and certainly one of the best hygenist i have encountered. Fantastic experience: The FOH team are always friendly and helpful on the phone and on arrival. The Clinicians have always been professional in their approach to my care, taking the time to explain any work being done and give appropriate advice when necessary.

Fantastic experience: I have a great experience check up with lovely Dentist Carrie White and her nurse Madalina. The dentist explain everything about my oral health, and gives me advice. All the staff are very friendly including the receptionist. Thank you very much for taking care of me to all the staff ♥️

Fantastic experience: My hygienist was an absolute breath of fresh air. Nice house music playing which was nice to hear instead of the horrible sounds of the dentist you normally hear. He was a friendly and very knowledge guy and great to be able to go to the dentist on a Sunday too!

Negative experience: I have been a patient here for 10 years or more and the dental work is good. The problem is the way they now charge. You have to pay in full up front and most appointments are over a month away. I totally understand the need for a deposit to prevent no-shows - but to ask for all payment up front and then sit on your money for a month or more seems excessive and unfair. Right now my wife and I have paid over £200 for treatment we have not yet received and won't receive for over a month!

Negative experience: Dentist scratched outside wrong tooth enamel with a picker as a 'checkup' , sucked, no sanitiser and caused after 2 days another infection without working on the painful tooth he was instructed that caused pain. Reason according to a new guy NHS really does extraction services only and keep the teeth after it, no crowns, fillings. Incompetent and sadistic...

Fantastic experience: Great Dental Practice. I had two fillings done and Dr Behnoosh Bidar made me feel calm and didn't hurt at all. All the staff are very friendly and polite. You can get appointments on Sunday which is very helpful if you work. Many thanks :)

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the lack of compassion and understanding at this dental practice. When I had to reschedule my appointment due to a family emergency that required me to rush my little sister to the ER, they not only refused to accommodate the change but also had the audacity to charge me for it. Their prioritization of profit over basic human empathy is appalling. As a result of their insensitive policies, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Patients beware of their money-first mentality

Fantastic experience: I hadn’t been the dentist in like 4 years and I finally stopped putting it off and got an appointment booked. I was booked with Dr Sarah and she was truly FAB, she put me ease and was so friendly. We spoke about holidays, being from the north and any trepidation I felt went. I deffo won’t put off my next appointment. Furthermore, the hygienist did a fab job too, I walked out sparkling. Winner winner!

Negative experience: A dentist there carried out work on my front tooth. I know, it happened and had to give consent for it to happen. In fact, this work really messed up my bite. I ring them up a week later and say what the problem is and I see the same dentist and he denies doing work, so he failed to keep a proper record. Flustered I email thinking it will prompt his memory but he 'confirms' carrying out no work. Incredibly distressing thing to happen. Not happened at a single other dentist I was at so stay well clear. Dr Mazahari is certainly not excellent. He doesn't even keep a proper record, seems to do unnecessary dental work, and can't be corrected having definitely done work on front tooth. He asked me for my consent. Can anyone forget that? No. I am still yet to receive an apology for this when I was already having a nervous breakdown in 2018. An apology? When I recover my mental and physical health to see kings to correct this.

Fantastic experience: My first time visiting this practice and what a great experience with Umber. She is so friendly and professional. I would recommend booking in with her. Would highly recommend for any one wanting to have your teeth done as she's good at making sure you're comfortable. 10/10

Fantastic experience: Just had a hygienist appointment with the lovely Kate. I am a nervous patient but she was so gentle, patient and reassuring. Honestly the best hygienist experience I've had in a while.. I'd highly recommend Kate! She even sent me flossing guidance afterwards via email. Great service.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful practice, the new hygienist was superb, Maira was fabulous, careful, sensitive and listened to problem areas I described. Fantastic experience: I don’t normally leave reviews but I keep telling my friends my dentist is great so I may as well tell the internet! My dentist is Dr Shepardson, she has such a lovely and reassuring manner. The hygienist is also really nice but not sure of his name! And reception are helpful too which isn’t always the case… Plus they’re relatively easy to get an appointment with. Recommend!

Fantastic experience: My appointment with the hygienist was absolutely blissful. I was taken aback by the attentiveness of the dentist. I wish I had asked her name. Since having to endure drilling for fillings as a young child i have never really liked going to the dentist. The hygienist was so welcoming, her energy extraordinarily kind. She explained everything she was doing incrementally. She was so encouraging at the end she said don't I wan to leave and I said no lol! Thanks you so much for the best customer service ever!

Fantastic experience: Over the years I have always received a friendly and professional service for regular routine check ups by Mohsin Ghor. Recently had my first hygienist appointment with Kaleem Iqbal who put me at ease and was also extremely polite and professional.

Negative experience: Payment First and Patient Last Their receptionists are insensitive, arrogant and authoritarian. They always seem to be only interested in their own conversations and taking payment in advance. I am often made to wait at check-in and/or payment over their own chats. I had both NHS and private treatments and was asked to make an advance payment of many hundreds of Pounds upfront, seriously? I have a credit card but isn't it a little unfair?? I was happy to pay my NHS payment as I already received the treatment first but not for the future private treatment. Due to the NHS and private treatments, I wanted my payments and statements separately, a receptionist said that it was impossible. Wrong! I had it done before with other receptionist. It turned out to be only laziness and ignorance of the inexperienced receptionist who wanted to make a short-cut and did not bother to ask the correct method to other receptionists! Finally, even they wanted an advance payment for a future check-up appointment in six months' time..., I have no words for them. This must be a reflection of some dentists whose approaches are authoritarian as well and do not seem to have a collaborative decision-making process of a dentist supporting a patient to reach a decision about their treatment. Those dentists seem to make decisions for themselves on behalf of their patients without properly explaining a choice of appropriate treatment plans. So, please do ask your questions before making any payment or decision.

Negative experience: Appalling service from the team. Joy the reception manager was very rude to me after I had my rootcanal, giving me no assistance with getting my crown booked in. The practice offer finance for expensive treatments, however, the dentists all refused to take on the crown via finance. Joy spoke down to me and was very condescending When I mentioned the need for finance, I explained that it’s an expensive time of year having a family and it being Christmas around the Corner - To which I got a smug green and the advice to just do it after Christmas. There are over 15 dentists at this practice, however, none of them will do any of the work via finance, and want to be paid in full. I was told about this over a week after I had been to the dentist but yet another very rude receptionist over the phone who refused to fully explain the situation and reasons why. Not worth your time, find another dentist nearby

Negative experience: Quickest and most expensive hygiene clean I have ever had. I booked the Gold mega clean option and after 15 mins the hygienist told me he had finished. They are taking advantage of people. I would rather travel back to my old clinic than go there again. Also as a bonus, they also have rude and unfriendly staff working on reception.

Negative experience: Have been misinformed and gaslighted by the dentist Sarah twice leading to problems with my wisdom teeth worsening. The second time was just this week and I have put a complaint in and called several times to see someone else as again my condition is worsening, but the receptionists just say they will call me back and never do. I will be moving dentists and do not recommend the practice to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sarah Shepherdson has been absolutely amazing with my invisalign treatment. Super helpful and attentive and answered my endless questions throughout. I'm so happy with my invisalign results and couldn't recommend enough.

Positive experience: After 14 years of avoiding going to the dentist due to previous negative experiences, I registered as an NHS patient. Dr Sarah Shepherdson has been absolutely amazing, I needed a number of fillings and a wisdom tooth extraction over multiple appointments. In every appointment she has put me at ease, alleviating any anxieties I had. She talked me through each procedure, to the l level of detail that I found helpful for me. It was also amazing as an NHS patient to be able to access evening and weekend appointments so I could fit them in around my work. I did experience difficulties with the booking processes, hence the 4 star review, but I cannot fault the clinical side of the care

Fantastic experience: I always have a very positive experience at CSD. Having seen both Dr Ali and Dr Greg as dentists and more recently Kate, the hygienist I can’t fault them at all. Having rather neglected hygiene appointments, Kate put me at immediate ease and explained every step of the process, taking time and care to do the clean as gently as possible. I would urge anyone to book their hygiene appointment with Kate.

Positive experience: Dentist experience absolutely fantastic. Treatment is great and you are well informed for the entire procedure. Really appreciate the dentists patience as I had a 2 hour appointment and it was nothing but professional and clear the entire time. Booking and treatment at reception lets it down as it must be so busy, you can rarely get timely appointments. I needed a follow up appointment within 2-3 weeks but am having to wait 2 months which is not ideal. On asking if there was a waiting list incase other people cancel, I was informed that I would have to call up to ask rather than being added to a list and informed. So not exactly helpful.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a professional clean done at Clapham South Dental Centre by a hygienist and would highly recommend. In the past I've found the hygienist quite rough and painful, however this time he took care, was gentle, careful, yet thorough and effective.

Negative experience: If I could give zero I would. You pay in full for the hygienist as required, then 3 months later on your appointment day are told prices have gone up, you have to pay an extra £5. The appointments are regularly late starting and end early so £70 is not for 1/2 an hour as advertised. It was £35 for a check up but I refuse to go now as last time I was over 15 minutes late being called in and then was out in 3 minutes. Thorough? Worth the money? Definitely not.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at Clapham South Dental today. Dr Mazaheri was very warm, re-assuring, empathetic, and extremely accommodating: he even found me an earlier slot once we realised the initial one intended for the treatment today was going to cause me to miss a flight I intended to take. Then, throughout the treatment I felt no pain at all, although my cavity was large, and very close to the sensitive bits of the tooth. The total price I paid ( private ) was a nice surprise as well. I am very thankful. Wholeheartedly recommended!
