Banning Dental Group and Skin Clinique- Blackfriars

Positive experience: Overall a positive experience with this dental practice and I will continue using their services. Laura, the hygienist, is exceptional - truly the best I’ve encountered at any practice. My experience with Dr. Dooroo was less satisfactory. The quality of his work required correction by another dentist, and his approach felt impersonal. However, Dr. Shirin Ali, who handled the corrective treatment, demonstrated excellent skill and professionalism. I will be requesting her for future appointments. The practice’s marketing approach is overly persistent. Despite requesting removal from their communications, I continue receiving frequent calls, emails, texts, and WhatsApp messages from multiple locations. The timing of promotional offers immediately following procedures also feels inappropriate and detracts from the patient experience. I would recommend this practice, particularly if you can book with Dr. Shirin Ali. Laura provides outstanding hygienist services as well.

Fantastic experience: I had 10 composite bonding to my top teeth a year ago for my wedding. Dr Ali is amazing, his attention to detail is incredible and I receive so many compliments on his work. Many mistaking them for veneers. Recently I chipped my front tooth and Dr Ali has repaired it as if the damage was never done. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Negative experience: Hi, Had a negative experience with a manager named Layla as well as a dental nurse named Maz. Quite sure they're also creating a negative work environment for their employees as the way Layla speaks to her staff is horrific. Wouldn't come here even if my life depended on it. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment with Dr A Yazdizadah. I have some very complex historical problems and wanted to discuss some options re various treatments. Did the same at two other practices to get an overall feeling of their response and advice. This dentist stood out Best dental appointment ever, usually the dentist doesn't give you the time to explain your history but expects you to talk with a mouth full of instruments. Total opposite at this appointment, actually interested in the information and then happy to talk through various options. Not at all rushed, also the dentist was happy to discuss their training and special interests. Felt really confident that this dentist has a patients best interests as their priority. Will be contacting the practice very soon to book an appointment so we can begin a treatment plan. Extremely relieved to finally find a dentist that I have absolute trust in.

There's an acronym called ABCD meaning Above the Call of Duty. They were professional but well coming and they listened to everything I said with passion. Keep up the good work .

Fantastic experience: I had my Invisalign treatment with the amazing Dr Shirin Ali who was absolutely amazing throughout the whole treatment! I’ve never had an issue and she made me feel so comfortable and at ease with my treatment as I was so nervous for what to expect. She was so clear with her instructions and how to maintain care throughout my treatment. She was so kind and gentle spoken always and always had such a positive aura. She was always so consistent with my appointments and never cancelled on me last minute. I always praise her to my family and friends and always recommend banning dental to them because of her!! I also have my hygiene appointment’s with Laura and every time I visit her she is always amazing, kind makes you feel comfortable, at ease and does not fail to make you laugh. I came here for Invisalign and the whole process was so much quicker and easier than I expected. Dr Lennard explained everything so clearly from the start, and I always felt comfortable and in the loop throughout. The receptionists are also really nice —so friendly and helpful every time I came in. Honestly can’t recommend this place enough. Fantastic experience: I’m so glad I chose to do my Invisalign treatment at Banning Blackfriars. Dr. Ahmed Omran and his team have been absolutely amazing throughout the entire process. I’m nearly finished with my treatment now, and the transformation in both my bite and smile has been incredible. I used to have an open bite and quite a bit of crowding, but now my teeth are perfectly aligned, and I honestly couldn’t be happier. I still catch myself smiling every time I’m able to bite into something with my front teeth. It’s such a small thing, but something I was never able to do before! Negative experience: I came to Banning for Invisalign treatment and spent around £3k. Dr. Stephanie was excellent—skilled, professional, and a real asset to the practice. However, the overall experience with Banning as an organisation was deeply disappointing. Once my treatment plan changed, the support system completely fell apart. Mistakes were made (wrong orders, unnecessary visits), and no one took proper responsibility. Promises to follow up were often ignored, and I felt like I was left chasing answers. There was no proactive communication, no sense of customer care, and definitely no justification for the high ratings they seem to receive online. I’m giving a low score not because of the dentist, but because the wider service was disorganised, dismissive, and failed to meet even basic expectations for a private clinic.

Fantastic experience: I recently had my first hygiene appointment with Ruslan Mansurov at Banning Dental & Skin Clinique (Blackfriars Branch), and I was genuinely impressed. In the past, my hygienist visits have been so uncomfortable that I usually needed an injection for pain relief. This time, however, I didn’t need any pain relief at all. Ruslan was incredibly gentle and checked in regularly to make sure I was comfortable throughout the treatment. The air floss treatment was especially impressive; my teeth have never felt so clean. I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment in six months, which is a first for me! I highly recommend Ruslan and the air floss treatment to anyone who’s nervous about dental hygiene appointments or wants outstanding results.

He recommended switching from a normal hygienist appointment to an airflow one - I can’t thank him enough as it got rid of my all my stains and I’m really happy with the results. Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Ali Abbasbhai to discuss teeth bonding but after discussing it with him switched to veneers. The service was great from start to finish. I was unsure and nervous about doing something unreversable to my teeth and not getting it right. After the first "profile" fitting of the mock veneers Dr Ali made adjustments and very kindly offered a second fitting of the new design to make sure. Then after a night's worry I'd chosen the wrong shade - I wanted an amazing smile without it looking too Hollywood fake - I went in to see Dr Ali and the technician and we all went over the shades again in an unhurried manner; their experience and advice was very reassuring. I would highly recommend Dr Ali.

Dr Ali was friendly, knowledgeable and calm, making my check up and filling replacement easy and pain free! I was a bit nervous to have the filling replaced but I didn't need to be. Firstly I had a check up with Dooroo and it was great, then Maria explained me everything so well about the treatment plan. I also had a consultation for skin with Hafsa, that helped me to understand what are the things I need for my skin and I loved it. Last but not least, I had an implantologist consultation with Anna and know I feel really secure about my first implant. It was also great we could speak in Spanish and English ^^ Overall it's an amazing clinic and I strongly recommend to come and get a consultation or products offered :)

Negative experience: I walked in the door to a shout of, "We're closed!" It was 45 minutes before the sign on the unlocked door said they would close, so I apologised and left. That's the level of customer service for new enquiries, so I don't fancy your chances once they have their hands in your mouth.

Fantastic experience: I want to start Invisalign and after speaking with the dentists I was told my teeth were overcrowded and I needed extractions before I began. Dr. Ali is a wonderful dentist and will put you at ease throughout the whole process. He was able to remove 4 teeth in 4 minutes which to me sounds like a record. Negative experience: Incredibly bizarre and uncomfortable experience at this practice from beginning to end. Went for composite bonding consultation and was sent for a ‘complementary skin consultation’ in which I sat and listened to a woman speak a million miles an hour without taking a single breath who then tried to sell me a hydrafacial. Was then seen half hour later than my appointment time by a seemingly very tired dentist. When I requested information regarding finance options from the woman at the front desk I was sent into an office where another woman unbeknownst to me began processing me a loan. Had no idea what was going on until she asked for my sort code and account number… Unbelievable. I phoned this morning to have my deposit refunded and was hung up on. Awful and uncomfortable experience.

I have come to him on many occasions with many different problems and he has gone above and beyond with his work, so much so that I have complete trust in him!
