Fantastic experience: I had mysterious impromptu pain in my upper right wisdom tooth whenever ingesting hot or cold, so I phoned to see if there was an emergency appointment - because I didn't want caught short with a horrible dose of toothache during the night. I was given an appointment for the same day, where the tooth was extracted, and the pain gone. The procedure was quick and painless as usual. The Dentist James was extremely professional, informative and very gentle. With work done in subsequent appointments being executed with equal proficiency and ease. All of the staff are always professional friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this Dental surgery.

Negative experience: God forbid you have a couple late cancellations due to having sick babies or cancellation of childcare. Would be highly irresponsible and selfish of me to bring sick babies into a sterilised, disinfected, hygienic place of work. Infecting staff and potentially other patients. I would have liked to think that the staff would be grateful that I’m taking them, their patients and their place of work into great consideration. Got told I was “looking down” on staff when the reception is literally lower down, unless they don’t want you to look at them when ur talking I’d suggest they stood up if the level of eye contact is an issue for the staff. Gaslighting reception staff. Glad I won’t be back, but shame on you Jim & Natalia.

Fantastic experience: I’m never away from the dentist it seems. I’ve been regularly making appointments since December. Poor Jim Roxburgh must see me as a saga in his dentist chair. Another appointment last night as an emergency and yet again Jim had all the time in the world to attend to my very painful gums. My mouth definitely feels 100% better since Jim advised me how to stop my new teeth from constantly hurting even drinking water was very painful. However I’m a new woman this morning and I’m able to eat and drink. But without Jim repairing my new plate that would have been impossible. You’re my superhero Jim Can I recommend this practice, yes most definitely the work that’s been done and improved time after time. Please don’t hesitate anymore give these professionals the chance to work on your mouth

Positive experience: I attended the practice on Monday to have root canal treatment. After hearing lots of horrendous stories from people I know saying it was one of the worst things they've ever had done ...the pain. ..having to go to hospital ...swelling....etc I was slightly nervous. There was no need. Jim did the work for me and I hardly felt a thing. It was actually okay. I had work done at 9 am and back at 4.30 the same day to have my crown fitted. Jim talked me through what was happening and it wasn't the big ordeal I thought it was going to be...

Fantastic experience: Attended Brite Dental in Gilmerton Edinburgh as I required some dental work carried out. My dentist and the assistant were both excellent! Before any work was carried out, it was explained to me what the process would be and how it would be done. Once the process had began I was asked throughout on different occasions if I was comfortable and if any problems just to let them know and we could stop. I was very happy with the service I had received, and the work carried out was excellent! I cannot fault Brite Dental, excellent service and friendly staff, been for a few years now. I've also spoke to the manager Natalia numerous times over the years who is also extremely helpful.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience yesterday at Brite Dental practice Gilmerton Road. The dentist was confident in his own ability ( which instils confidence in myself). He had good communication skills and was adept at his profession. The dental assistant also had a pleasant manner and was efficient in her duties. The receptionist who dealt with my health questionnaire ( I am an older person) with a sympathetic understanding which belied her young age. All in all a very good and well run practice.

Negative experience: This dentist used to be a great dentist but they have really gone downhill, continually cancelling my appointments and not answering the phone. I get they are busy and short of dentists but they cancelled my appointment 4 times.

Fantastic experience: I always receive great care here! Very thorough examinations and cleanings, thoughtful discussions around any issues I'm having, and helpful treatment plans. The assistants and reception staff are also wonderful! I'd definitely recommend the practice. Fyi though, they are full for NHS spaces at the moment (December 2024).

Fantastic experience: I have always had a great service in this dental practice from all the staff. But when I asked my Dentist Jim Roxburgh if he could do anything about my chipped front teeth I wasn’t expecting much. Well I was wrong I’m totally blown away with the results. Both front teeth sorted and filling done all under an hour. Anyhow you can see the difference in the pic. I also had issues with missing teeth at the the side of my mouth and some other ugly metal fillings. After a thorough consultation I had all my filling replaced and a loose tooth removed. A denture fitted at the same time the tooth was removed I left the practice feeling like my old self again with a confident smile. Thanks Jim Kia and all the staff at the practice

Negative experience: They are very good at extracting... money from your pocket. I was informed I required 4/5 fillings after 3 minutes in the chair. The dentist was more interested in me signing up for his monthly payment scheme than discussing anything else. I left bemused and frustrated. I decided to take a 2nd opinion and after an x-ray, 1 small filling was recomemded that costs £50 less than each of their overpriced, unrequired treatments. Avoid

Fantastic experience: My first visit to Brite in Gilmerton yesterday. As an elderly very nervous patient, i'd been dreading it for weeks; have had a dental phobia since a child; have had hypnotherapy, used various coping strategies, had to have extractions under hospital sedation etc. Having almost bottled it yesterday, i made it in, was greeted by an interested & friendly receptionist and sat in the bright, spotless, modern waiting room. Filled out my Info form and tried to keep calm. A dental nurse took me to the treatment room & i met Dr Roxburgh, who listened very patiently to my history, then examined my teeth, talking me through everything clearly. I had one small painfree filling, helpful tooth & mouth care advice and the whole experience was the best i've ever had at the dentist. Dr. Roxburgh certainly instils trust in his professionalism and i wouldn't hesitate, or in fact worry, about attending again. I strongly recommend this practice, and particularly Dr Roxburgh, to anyone nervous about going to the dentist. We are so lucky to have such an amazing dental practice here in Gilmerton.
