Negative experience: I have never known a dental service like this there is never a dentist don’t do emergency appointments even though 111 recommend. Maybe if you are a private patient service maybe different but definitely not NHS

Fantastic experience: I had my first NHS dental appointment at South Cliff Dental Practice in Gosport today. Mohammed was my dentist and he was friendly, patient, and kind. He took the time to explain everything clearly, which really helped me feel at ease. The receptionists were also both polite and friendly. I’ve always had private dental care, I wasn’t sure what to expect for NHS dentistry, but the standard of care was excellent, professional and reassuring. Highly recommend to anyone considering NHS dental treatment!

Fantastic experience: I'm really chuffed with my new white filling! Honestly, I was a bit worried about getting it done, but the dentist made the whole thing super easy. Negative experience: I asked for silver filling because it's cheaper option but he instead put white filling and tried to charge 180 pounds. Instead I was able to get the original price for silver instead. Not only I saw that he didn't even cover one of the spots that has decay and also the filling isn't even white but yellow. Finally they didn't even use anesthesia so it was painful

Negative experience: Awful never experienced anything like it. Literally cannot put into words how many problems with this place. Don’t waste your time and don’t let them touch your mouth. Go anywhere but here. EDIT - After finding a new dentist for me and my family. The filling that they said I needed was not needed. But a course of action for gum disease was. Super happy with my new clinic. RIP to anyone using this ‘Clinic’

Fantastic experience: I recently had a dental crown fitted, and I have to admit I was quite nervous, especially after reading some negative reviews online. However, my experience was completely different — it seems there has been a positive change in management, as the staff and the clinician were incredibly kind, professional, and reassuring throughout my visit. Negative experience: Was really glad to get an nhs dentist, staff were very friendly, I was disappointed with the services they provided, no extractions, do not give out prescriptions My granddaughter had a painful abscess for the second time and I was told to go through 111 I have since managed to find a different dentist ,so deregistered with them was owed some money back and was told 28 days wait !!! The staff were lovely just do not provide all the services you think a dentist should provide

Negative experience: I have been with this dentist for a few years and needed to phone them to tell them about pain and cracked tooth to be told they can give me a check up but cant wven prescribe anti biotics if needed iv been referred to hospital to have my teeth removed under sedation but when I phoned 111 and told them about my cracked tooth and told them about what south cliff had said about not having a dentist they were shocked and so was the emergency dentist that had to see me im with a dental practice that cannot give the adequate treatment what is the point and to advertise consistently to say they taking on nhs patients is bloody ridiculous you cant treat the patients you have sort that out first

Negative experience: My partner has been waiting for 2 years now for phone call and his appointment to be re booked the fillings he did have done from this place fell out before it even got to 3 months and he still waiting for his appointment when we call or go in they claim there call back but I dont think they will. They make you pay when you book the appointment just in case we dont show more like take your money and run. Worse nhs dentist in gosport do not believe 5* reviews.

Negative experience: My first check up went ok, I needed a filling and was told how much it'd be, I asked for a white filling and she put on the paper that I was to get a metal filling... Luckily when I went for the filling appointment the dentist was lovely and double checked that I wanted a metal one so I said no, I requested a white filling, so this was corrected luckily! I then had an appointment with the hygienist which I spent £70 to see, I was then told she would have to give me local anaesthetic even though I was told I could just have numbing gel, but apparently she doesn't do that and never has before... She was blunt and didn't care about my dental phobia. She checked my teeth and then told me I'd have to come back for another 2 sessions at £70 each as she couldn't do all of the cleaning in one appointment, which I was not told in my initial check up. And she said I'd need to come for another cluster of hygienist appointments in 6 months time.. Seemed like a scam to make more money out of me, and she was very heavy handed when checking my teeth... Went home with severely sore gums for a good few days after just from her prodding, which I didn't get from my previous check up nor from my filling appointment with the other dentists when they prodded... Yet another traumatic experience. Pot luck as to whether you'll get a lovely understanding dentist or one that really doesn't care at all. Do not recommend

Negative experience: I would absolutely not recommend this practice, they have a suspiciously high number of reviews, just compare the number of reviews for this place to other much bigger practices in the area. 50 plus 5* reviews exactly 2 months ago isn't realistic for such a small place. How can anyone give this place a 5 star review when they don't even have any dentists! I was here for 15+ years and have given up on them, it was great when Reg was the owner but has gone so far down hill since South Cliff took over. In February I had a filling come out and saw a Therapist who said it needed to be re-filled, but she couldn't do it......cheers for that info, £26 wasted. I managed to see their private dentist (when they still had one) and he did fill it. I've since gone to a different practice who re-did that filling, along with replacing 2 more than needed it. Please go anywhere else but here.

Negative experience: Very disappointed, and I don't know how people can give 5 stars opinion for this clinic. Today I find out that at Gosport clinic at this moment they don't have any dentist. So who's working at this clinic who is doing checkups there? Why they called CLINIC then? I am with Gosport one and maybe they are good for checkups but only if you don't need to do anything and don't need any treatment. My checkup took 5 mins and nothing been found, week later my feeling from tooth fell out so I back to sort it out. I been told that I need canal treatment and they need to refer me to specialist as they can't do this in their clinic. I waited week to receive call from them that they couldn't find any specialist for my treatment and that I need to go private to other dentist. And when I started to ask questions they told me that they don't have any dentist working in Gosport clinic. It shouldn't be a clinic and I waisted my time when I signed up there. I could have already other dentist clinic where they could help me straightaway, but none told me earlier that there's no dentist. Horrible experience, people be careful because they accept NHS patients but they don't tell that they don't have dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: Still waiting for a dentist over a hear and a half to sort my bridge out , was told I'd be seen January last year 2024 and now 2025 still waiting phoned for an emergency appointment to be told there are no dentists just oral clean and check ups available so if you like me have a check up then need treatment it's over 16 months . Back to the 111 tomorrow

Negative experience: Told me they can either extract or fill my tooth and that’s all they offered for NHS patients. Also turned up there for emergency appointment an hour before they closed and they were already closed. Also trying to get hold of these people on the phone is awful no one ever answers the phone. My appointment was at 11:45 was not seen till around 12:15 due to the dentists that were seeing me had walked in the door with loads of food they had brought from the shop.

Negative experience: I share the same thoughts as perry Barton! First registerd with this practice when they first opened nearly 20yrs ago under the name Gosport smile clinic..useless dentists as I was nhs patient they treated me like a monkey! They kept cancelling my appointments obviously to fit in their private patient's..they won't tell you that of course..didn't tell me I had gum disease now many years later I'm suffering the consequences of very bad dental care..avoid this practice if you want good teeth and healthy gums! I'm now with a proper professional dental practice and still NHS

Negative experience: Very difficult to even give a star. Practice has carried out two fillings less than 2 months old which have both failed. Called multiple times to be told there are no dentists available as an NHS patient, but i can be seen if i go private or to another practice. Finally manage to be seen, not to mention I was being 'examined' by a dental assistant (not a dentist)...under another patients name and not even my own. Incompetence is the best word to describe every visit I have had with this practice. I will be looking for another opinion and following up any legal process i can to seek advice on how to claim for time and money wasted for treatments that were not only sub par, but have infact caused me further complications than i initially had before being seen by this practice.

Negative experience: I have been with this dentist for years. I went for an appointment today. For NHS patients they can only do check ups and fillings. They cannot prescribed antibiotics if needed, extractions, root canals. So any major work they cannot do. The staff are lovely but the practise is shocking.

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking!!! Firstly I’m a private patient I’ve had a nerve infection in my tooth they didn’t even pick up the fact I needed antibiotics I’ve been in absolute agony for a week! I had to go to 111 for help! I was supposed to be booked in to have it all sorted Saturday, I then get a call from them telling me my appointment was cancelled 2 hrs before I’m due!! Just terrible practice I’m going somewhere else!! Not even worthy of 1 star ⭐️

Negative experience: Made an appointment to see a dentist here,a hygienist looked in my mouth for 5 minutes,explained the problems I had and then said unfortunately there weren't any dentists working there so they couldn't do anything to help,she also said I needed trays but the machine was broke,then they tried to charge me £26 for the privilege,complete con advertising as a nhs dentist when there aren't any actual dentists there,a lady in the waiting room told me she had been going there for 4 years and there's never been a proper dentist there

Negative experience: I don't usually leave reviews but I felt this important for anyone wishing to register to this dentist. I'm 24 now and had been going there since a little child. It was a good dentist but over the years, the experienced dentists left along with the standards. At the beginning of the year, I was seen by a young dentist, who not only made me feel silly for asking questions but kept giggling with her assistant and dropping the tools on my face. It was the end of the day, and it felt like she didn't want to see me. I felt completely out of control and ended up with 2 compound fillings that spilled over my gums and into the gaps between my other teeth. Around 6 months later, I'm in pain as both fillings are spikey, rough and harbouring bacteria from the poor application. I understand this may be specific to this one dentist, but as a whole the majority I have seen over the years, they don't want to explain procedures and don't have the time or patience for their patients. On the plus side, the receptionists are lovely and did welcome me with a smile.

Fantastic experience: With not having a NHS dentist and needing one, the branch manager was ringing other dentist to see if they could fit me in. When needing the dentist again the branch manager has booked me in with other dentist over the weekend. A very nice lady where nothing is to much trouble and she will help you whenever she can. This branch manager even makes phone calls to you to see if more help can be done. Brilliant service

Fantastic experience: I’m really impressed with the service we’ve received as a family. My partner recently had a filling done which they managed to get him booked in for within 24 hours of his check up. My son has ADHD and moderate learning difficulties and is very nervous of going to the dentist as he has had to have multiple extractions at our previous practice, who weren’t very understanding of his difficulties. The staff at South Cliff were absolutely fantastic with him yesterday when he had to have 4 teeth extracted. They were so kind, patient, reassuring and understanding. My son felt so much more trusting of them than with our previous dentist that have undertaken extractions for him and I think he’ll be a lot less anxious when it comes to our check up in 6 months time. They have seen me on a couple of emergency appointments and the receptionist at the time, could not do enough to help. She even tried to call me to check on my wellbeing. Fantastic experience: I am very nervous about anything related to the dentist but this was very good they listened and even went as far as hiding the tools used till I was in the chair and explained anything I asked very clearly as well as no nonsense stance on it in a good way allowing me to have the work needed done

Negative experience: Joined this practice when I moved here in 2017, I had a full mouth of teeth back then, just mild gum disease that they ignored for 5 years because I was an NHS patient… Fast forward to 2024 & many emergency appointments later… No way are these recent reviews real lol. I’ve lost six teeth because of this practice and not had an appointment in 2 years. No way have they suddenly got 5* reviews for the last month?! I’m currently suing for dental negligence. They illegally take NHS appointments, let their dental technician take the appointment & don’t help at all!! ANYONE else affected by this practice PLEASE contact me. I’m with a much better dentist in Portsmouth now who gave me a thorough hygienist clean within a month of being there as my gum disease needed bringing under control asap. This practice is dangerous, their negligence can lead to serious health problems.

Fantastic experience: Andrea and her team of dentists and dental nurses went above and beyond getting me in to take care of an aching tooth which was beyond repair. The dentist who i was dealt with was funny and as a fellow health care professional we had alot to talk about. The procedure was almost painless as to be expected and was a professional from start to finish. Highly recommend south cliff dental

Fantastic experience: Brilliant service took my false plate in on Sunday as there was a crack down the middle of my top plate explained I was going on holiday on Friday and I have just picked them up really happy. The staff are so nice and did there best to help me so thank you one happy customer.

Negative experience: Rip off. Had to register and pay to see a 'dental therapist' who did nothing other than charge money and advise a filling. Didn't achieve what I wanted from them. Advised to see their Private dentist. Treatment failed, lasted 3 hours. Called and next appt following weekend. Booked and and arrived following weekend to be told nothing they can do as branch has not ordered correct treatment stuff needed as to expensive. Was told would get refund. 5 weeks later still nothing so called up and went in got refund straight away, but no consultation fee as 'moment walk in door costs £27.80' So dentist fails at treatment yet still keeps the money. Abso joke and rip off, in the words of the manager, 'welcome to the world of private dentistry' Southcliff hasn't got the best reputation in the first place, and now see why. They want the money, but don't want to pay out for the treatment for it. Avoid avoid avoid. Will be raising with CQC.

Negative experience: They did not numb my child’s mouth properly during a tooth extraction. So my child screamed in pain but had already started so they said I couldn’t stop. My child is only 5 and had to go through unbearable pain. Do not recommend

Negative experience: At my filling appointment they tried to tell me that i may need a root canal but that isn't cover by the nhs and I would have to do it privately, even know it's under the bands on the nhs

Fantastic experience: After waiting for NHS 111 to give us a call which never transpired, we desperately called a number of dentists - only this practice was willing to help. I took my daughter over who was in severe pain. The staff on reception made the entire process so easy and spent their time reassuring my daughter who was soothed and calmed down after the treatment was explained to her. I was sent a text immediately to confirm the appointment made. We haven’t had the treatment yet but I was so impressed by the admin side of things that I feel confident in writing about their customer service. I know the practice has had their ups and downs in the past but clearly the new management are helping to bring the place up to speed.

Fantastic experience: Really great dentist I haven’t been to one in about 16 years Because I was scared. The dentist is lovely put me right at ease appointments were kept and at really good times. Just had my dental hygienist appointment and she was really kind as well and did a great job. Staff on the desk were friendly helpful and efficient called me to offer me an earlier appointment. If you’ve been struggling with dentists these guys are definitely worth signing up too

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dr. Failat enough. This dentist was so gentle and kind with my 10 year old daughter. Two teeth were removed and no pain at all. The nurse, Salina, was nice too. The receptionist, Yasmeen, was very kind and friendly. Highly recommended I read some reviews said it’s private clinic and the truth is all my kids go there under NHS and I pay nothing.

Negative experience: I received a call from the dental practice asking if I would like an NHS appointment. When I attended the appointment it turns out that its not nhs at all and is private. The dentist and receptionist did not communicate and tried overcharging me. I warned the dentist I had a loose filling who took no notice and left me with a filling that is way more loose than it was before. Overall had a terrible experience with this practice and would advise others if they can to avoid unless you want to leave with more problems than when you went in.
