Fantastic experience: Excellent Dental Practice. All staff are friendly and patient with a great knowledge. As a nervous patient who has struggled for many years I have a very understanding Dentist. Dr Sahand Emami is excellent and patient with me. He explains everything he will be doing and goes at my pace. I had 2 pain free fillings and didn't even feel the injection. I recommend this practice. I would give 100 stars if I could. Thankyou

Negative experience: Not worth your time and a waste of money. It feels like most of them don't know what they are doing. I was severely disappointed with the treatment I received. If I could, I would give them 0 stars. One of them injected the anaesthetic at the beginning of the treatment and started drilling straight after.. It started working when I left the clinic.. And more.

Fantastic experience: I was quite worried about my hygienist appointment as through my illness, my nerve endings are super sensitive, and pain is severely increased, I needn’t have, I didn’t even need to be numbed, it was totally manageable and pain free. The hygienist and her assistant were both lovely humans, the hygienist was the reason I felt no pain, caring and brilliantly done, fantastic job! Her young assistant is so personable, a breath of fresh air and super kind, I deem her the loveliest assistant I have had the pleasure to meet in my 59 years, I have met many and most being brilliant, she stands out, a rare find, dream team, thank you both.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, every time we have been. So good with the kids, really friendly and very informative. I’m not registered, but my kids are, and they saw me for an emergency appointment today. Much cheaper than my local dentist and generally much more friendly! Really rate them and would recommend. My kids didn’t need to come today, but desperately wanted to!

Negative experience: Don’t go there, they treat you so badly, the best you can get is some fake politeness, no kindness or empathy at all. They are also incompetent, they referred to me twice to another dentist, one time the referral letter disappeared in the post (why can’t you send an email??) and the second time they gave the other dentist my wrong phone number and never heard back. Zero apologies from them.

Fantastic experience: Rang my normal dentist who had no availability for 2 weeks when I had bad tooth pain so rang lodge causeway and they booked me in the same day was seen by morteza who knew i was very nervous and acted very professionally great staff all round even reception much better then my old dentist

Negative experience: A very poorly run and chaotic dental clinic. About 10 receptionists, but still about a 10 minute wait for someone to answer your phone. First time I’ve visited the clinic and it needs serious improvement. Found the staff aren’t very helpful and some of the dentists very rude.

On occasions, where we have staff illness, the phone lines can be busy - we do try to take measures to reduce the wait wherever possible. If you do have issues with contacting the practice in future, there is the option of emailing us so that you do not have to wait for the phone call to be answered. Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic service. I had amber and Brian for my first visit. Cannot fault In anyway. 100% trying to help the patient. Felt listened too about my concerns, allowed me to speak about previous work to get a full insite to the next step! Asked the right questions. And did everything carefully and professionally and very kind. Went through every inch of information and made going a delight. Receptionists Were fantastic too, polite, friendly and professional. Everyone was efficient professional and actually cared for the patient. 100% recommend going to them private or nhs because they are going to do a job probably!

Fantastic experience: I was seen by Yas and another lovely lady (forgotten her name) yesterday. They made sure that my dental experience was great and made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to the lovley Receptionist Grace when I first rang for an appointment to the lovley Dentist Arsalan who have made me feel less anxious. Negative experience: Came in fine but came out with teeth pain after an aggressive teeth cleaning. Still feel it after a few days. Definitely not going back to this dentist.

I am sorry that you have had teeth pain since visiting. This can be common with cleaning since when removing the plaque it leaves the tooth surfaced exposed and sensitive for a while. Good oral hygiene and use of sensitive toothpaste can help. Regular cleaning and check ups can avoid the need for such invasive cleaning in the future. Negative experience: After chipping my tooth on the 30th April I was told to make an appointment as soon as possible for this to be checked out. Once discovering that there was a chip, my dentist smoothed out my tooth as I was left with a sharp tooth that was causing my tongue to bleed. A few weeks later I went back to collect an invoice to find that I am expected to pay for a mistake that was caused by them. Appalling service. And to add to that, I was removed from the books.

As the hygienist does not use instruments which are capable of chipping teeth, it was discussed with you the possible reasons for the damaged tooth which would be outside of our control. The charge for smoothing the chipped tooth was made in line with NHS set charges. I am sorry that we were unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction but we are unable to waive the standard appointment charge. kind regards

Negative experience: Use to be good dental. Not our days.good doctors left and new staff just taking Mickley. Avoid hygiene appointments here. Money spend for 7min of slap dashwork. Very disappointed. Will be moving my family to another dental practice Update: as this situation happened, I didn't remove my family from this dental practice. However, this morning, my partner called to book my 7 year old boy to see dentis as he woke up with pain. In practice, he was advised because of my review. Two 2year ago, the manager used my comment about moving to different dentis, putting it on file, and removing my family from practice. Manager didn't take notice how bad higyne service was, and instead, making adjustments and looking into why the review was made in first place chose the easiest option. I understand if the appointment was for me or another adult, in my family. But refused to see child because of bad coment about service its just too much....

Negative experience: I came into the dentist today, with my daughter. Receptionists were beyond rude, one of them called Kelly ignored me as something on her smart watch was far more interesting. Waiting room was overcrowded and the queue was as if there was no one on the front desk. The animosity between the dentists (who were doing their best to be pleasant to the receptionists) was ridiculous and the way in which the receptionists spoke to them was beyond disrespectful. On a more positive note, the girl in the middle with the braids was delightful and made me feel at ease for an appointment i was not only nervous for but also had to wait a long time to attend. From what i gathered this was fault of the receptionists for not doing the bookings correctly. As a whole, they are very rude and need to learn some manners!! Get some receptionists that speak english

Negative experience: I've been going to this practice for a few years and am aware the reception team lacks customer service skills. However, on the last appointment they definitely went beyond that. There was nobody in the que, and i wanted to ask a question so i asked on the small window on the side.The lady at the reception refused to talk to me stating the que is at the front and to go there, noting there was nobody in the que, i did not even mind that but her rude attitude and response made me very uncomfortable. You state you tolerate zero rude behaviour from the customers, however the staff is allowed to treat people with the most utter rudeness??

Positive experience: On the whole a pleasant dental practice receptionist staff friendly and welcoming (eye contact when coming in would be good difficulty in hearing the receptionists when they are sat behind a screen that muffles sound when the practice is busy and lots of people talking music playing etc) Only one little niggle when coming out to call the clients name to come into the surgery for treatment some of the young team speak so quietly. They must speak up one gentleman told me he was hard of hearing and has issues before. When the music is playing loudly you cannot hear. Maybe a monitor with names displayed and a sound to notify Clients name and room number to enter, would be beneficial? But other than that I love the practice .

Fantastic experience: I’ve recently joined LCDC and am extremely happy with the service and efficiency of all the staff. My latest experience was with Dr Sahand Emami. I’m absolutely terrified of dentist as he’d have noticed. Dr Sahand extracted my tooth in such a way that I couldn’t feel the anesthetic being administered or even the taking out of the tooth. Negative experience: Kicked my wife and kids off of the surgery NHS patient list without any warnings or notifications advising we were due an appointment or would miss out. This is the process to rid the NHS reliant working class off of the system, absolute disgrace and I can no longer afford to get my kids a basic check up. Good job guys. Very keen to do the work privately but no way are the standards in that place high enough to pay them for the work if I could..... *Update, they have now kicked my account from the dentist, despite regular check ups as they did not appreciate a review...... We have been one of the very few practices trying to maintain an open NHS list for as long as possible. Due to demand, we have a waiting list and everyone is welcome to apply to be added to this list and will be contacted in order of application. In line with NHS guidelines, after a patient has not attended for two years - they would be classed as not registered since we cannot hold spaces for an indefinite period of time. This is is to ensure that we can appropriately treat those patients in need in a reasonable timeframe. Your wife has not attended for over 6 years and it was explained to you regarding the waiting list. We feel a one star review does not accurately reflect the standard of care offered by the practice. We have expanded our practice in the last year by adding two new surgeries to continue being able to take on new NHS patients. Fantastic experience: I took my 2 year old for her first dental appointment here today and we had a fantastic experience. The reception team are clearly under a great deal of pressure with the volume of patients but were still professional and polite. We were seen promptly by our dentist Arsalan and his assistant who were both extremely friendly and welcoming towards my daughter. She sat alone in the chair and was completely at ease during the entire appointment which really is a testament to the hospitality as it would have been a totally new experience for her. Arsalan was happy to answer my questions and my daughter was talking about it the whole way home! I would absolutely recommend this dentist.

Negative experience: Very unfriendly attitude and unethical towards the paying customers who pay the NHS fees, Asked by the practice to pay weeks in advance for further treatment is not practical. Some of us who pay for treatment do not have lots of money until pay day, cost of living and all that. I have never missed an appointment and have always paid on the day. I feel somewhat that paying customers are not trusted here or what the practice want, and maybe easier for the practice to just get the unemployed in as the government pay whatever. I understand this is the practice owner’s policy and not the staff. The practice wont let me book in advance without prepayment and said they wont respond to further emails, very shocking and totally unfriendly response. Also said its NHS requirement to pay in advance. Never been told this before by any NHS dentist. this is not NHS policy its the practice. They do not seem interested In paying customers. Wouldn’t recommend this practice if you pay, you will be treated as if you are untrustworthy, i even offered to pay on the day before my appointment so that they got their money in advance but was told NO. The response from the manager said they are Unable to answer any more emails actually means unwilling to reply as not interested. They have enough NHS unemployed customers on benefits who they get paid for from the government so are not interested in the working class people who actually pay. Very unethical and clearly the managers response shows lack of real customer service and no interest to show people any compassion or respect. If you’re a paying customer then you're to good for this place, this is more suited to the unemployed who they can just use to get government money. My advice is take your money else where if you pay. This place is not about treatment and customers, more about rinsing NHS money from the government.
Thank you for your review. It is disappointing that you only awarded us one star despite being very complimentary of our practice and team. As explained to you via several emails, we have a practice policy for taking payment at the time of booking which has been in place for over 15 years and cannot be changed for individuals. Unfortunately, a minority of patients have not paid for their appointments and we are unable to judge each individuals situation. We had offered you assistance with booking an appointment but as explained, our policy cannot be altered. Whilst we take patients issues seriously, there are occasions where we are unable to rectify them in the manner the patient had hoped for. Whilst we understand this can be disappointing, we have transparent policies in place to ensure we run a consistent service for all.
Negative experience: The website claims to be bristols friendliest practice however that’s definitely not the case, all the receptionists are stuck up and speak to you like you’re muck. The website also states you will get a whiter brighter smile with lodgecauseway however that is also not the case unless you’re private, they treat nhs patients poorly and suggest just pulling your teeth out instead of attempting to salvage/fix them because that would cost them money they’re not willing to fork out for nhs patients. I’ve lost a total of three teeth due to negligence and poor dental care with this surgery and the amount of infections I have had should be reported. Even if you can afford to be a private patient I wouldn’t come here.
It is unfortunate to receive a 1 star review. Particularly after we have already agreed to assist you with completion of treatment despite having two failure to attend appointments. The failure to attend policy is in place to ensure that all patients are able to access treatment when required and following NHS regulations. We take accusations of negligence very seriously and advise that you follow our complaints procedure should you have any concerns. We record all appointments along with evidence of treatment required such as x-rays and consent to ensure we maintain a consistent quality of care in line with standards set to us.

Negative experience: Disappointing & Frustrating Experience !!! Went in few months ago with pain issue and after checkup was advised to get filling done which I did as advised. But with in few months started to feel occassional pain in the same tooth filling was done. Phoned and since it was under warranty i was booked in to check what causing the pain. Went in only to find out I have to pay again and they were not sure what the appointment was for ??? Like seriously !!! I explained again why and what was appointment booked for and that I was not suppose to pay because I already paid and its still under warranty. They refused to acknolwedge their mistake and instead went on to argue to which I asked for manager to speak with and guess what ? The appointment was free now but it had to be another day ??? like really why would you mess around the patient? Anyways long story short I went in today again for the appointment only to be told by the dentist She does not know what the appointment is for..... LIKE FOR REAL DO YOU GUYS NOT COMMUNICATE Despite the anger and frustration stayed calm and explained again why I was their. Although the dentist did not want to listen or let me finish and kept cutting me off. I was sent out of room so the dentist could check with reception why i was there ... in the meantime she seen another patient whilst i wait outside ...Finally seen again i was told an Xray would be needed to find out why the pain occurs. But I have to pay for Xray now Honestly I am at loss with all this like seriously its common sense an Xray is needed to find out the cause of pain unless the dentist has Xray vision which i am sure is not the case ??? I was asked to see the Manager again but as suspected she was in meeting the oldest trick in the book. And she will call me back ... awaiting to see if I will actually get a call back and will get this simple xray sorted before its too late....!!!

Positive experience: Overall good experiences at Lodge Causeway. Hygienists are knowledgeable and the treatments are mostly on time each time I've been. The dentists I have seen are all quite young so unsure of the practice experience overall. Communication between the dentist and patient reduces the full star rating - I went in for a filing today and the dental nurse was thorough and asked throughout if I was okay and gave a good explanation about aftercare, however, my dentist did not explain the procedure and she almost immediately asked me to open my mouth and stuck a needle in my gum without any communication about what to expect etc. I have had filings in the past and have no problems with needles but this could have been a very difficult experience for another patient. I would expect at least a 'hello, my name is...' and a brief explanation of what to expect from the session. Despite this, I was happy with the treatment offered and don't have any other complaints/concerns about the practice.

Fantastic experience: I am very lucky to have found such a welcoming and helpful dental practice. After a very bad experience with another dental practice, I am a very nervous patient who tends to be on the side of dramatic when it comes to my dental health. In the last year I have contacted Lodge Causeway Dental Centre with my concerns and every time they have listened and understood me. My dentist, and their dental nurses, are very kind and the dentist gives me excellent treatment every time I've been.

Fantastic experience: ### Review Update ### I had an emergency appt today for excess pain, I can not thank them enough for fitting me in. I was fully informed about what to expect and the possible outcomes. I left with the pain gone and a plan of action to follow. Thank you again and keep up the amazing work. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been a customer of the dental practice for several years, I can really recommend them to anyone. I personally cant stand the thought of going to the dentist as I had a bad experience when I lived up North and it put me off dentists for a long time. My partner has been a patient of the Lodge Causeway Dental Center since childhood and strongly recommended I give them a try. I did have a bit of tooth ache so it was a case of get it looked at or grin & bare it!! I am happy to report that my experience with the center has been nothing but positive and i can speak from a vast experience including root canal treatment and a new crown. They even sorted out my "chicken sandwich" tooth (broke it on a chicken sandwich 20 years ago) which had been a constant source of pain and hassle. No matter your level of fear or love for dentists I can strongly recommend a visit. Also the new building 2 doors down from the old building is very nice.

Negative experience: Today I rang to enquire if my partner was on the waiting list, the receptionist advised me that I would need to speak to a manager regarding a note being on their system about my partner being on the waiting list and when I asked for the receptionists name at the end of the phone call she refused to give it to me and then hung up the call she then cancelled my next appointment without my permission when I called back to speak to the manager they was not available I am waiting for a manger to call me back regarding this but the service that I received today was very unpleasant and unprofessional

Negative experience: DON'T USE THIS PRACTICE! DON'T GIVE THEM DEPOSIT! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY! They have postponed my treatment 3 times in a row due to holidays apparently, I've asked for a refund and they never gave my money back. Scammers. Update: even after you said you did refund, I never received the money.
I can see that you were refunded before you left your review. I hope this has resolved the issue for you. Rest assured we always have records of payments taken and this remains on a patients' account until used towards a treatment or refunded
Negative experience: Signed up as NHS patient approx. 6 months ago and was told to wait for a letter in the post confirming registration. Called 3 months ago and were told we were on a long list and they were working their way through. Been trying to contact recently and their phone line doesn't work, and not responding to emails. Running out of ideas of how to get in touch!
We are sorry that you felt our practice only deserved one stars when you have not yet used our services. We had over 3000 people apply for appointments and have a limited number of appointments available for new patients. We are working our way through the list gradually each day. Our phone lines have not been optimal but we have tried to resolve this with our IT and phone line company. Negative experience: Not a nice experience at all. Every time I go the receptionists are not friendly don’t even smile. Then I both times I had to wait . Second appt the dentist was running 30min late and no one even came up to me to apologise or let me know what was going on I had to go back to reception to ask and she said the dentist is running late but he’ll be with me shortly. And when he did come you can tell he was running late because he was rushing so much to the point I was getting a bit worried because I knew he was going to rush through the treatment and not the a proper job. With even warning me or letting me know he just injects a needle in my gum .. without even telling me before hand it was so painful and scary and I even told him and he laughed it off and said “yeah I probably should’ve warned you I was going to do that” . And was done within 10 min.. I’ve had fillings before I always get asked if I want the local anaesthesia or not and usually I don’t get it because I’m fine without . And he didn’t even show me the results after. Didn’t explain anything to me. Made me wait 30 min was done in 10 min. Just unprofessional and don’t wanna go back there

Negative experience: I am so disappointed in the lack of care that I recently received from this dentist for many reasons. I initially was on hold for over 10 minutes then after finally getting through I was cut off (I heard the receiver instantly going down) - very frustrating. The reason for my call was to be polite and warn that I was running a bit late due to being held up at a prior appointment with my midwife - being 37 weeks pregnant with my 3 year old in tow. I arrived 5 minutes late but then had to wait at reception for an additional 4 minutes before I was checked in - despite there being 6 members of staff at reception only 1 person was addressing arrivals. At check in the dentist was then called to see if they approved seeing my daughter and me and without hesitation or any discussion or any thought to my situation I was told to go away. I work in a similar public facing profession so I understand the pressure of keeping on time with appointments but the waiting room was full and based on every visit I've had previously, I have never been seen on time (which I don't mind and have never complained about). I very much doubt that I would have been seen on time this day either so had I arrived and been checked in without the delay, I think it highly unlikely that I would have actually been seen any sooner. I take full responsibility for the initial part of the delay (even though it was out of my hands) but the fact the delay was almost doubled due to standing around at reception for ages is not my fault. I felt my appointment was cancelled simply to make things easier on the dentist's list, which I would not do myself. Why was it not offered to be seen but for half the time even if that was the case? I feel that my appointment - a simple check up - will have not taken more than 5 minutes for the double appointment allocated to us (as it has been the last 2 times I have attended with my daughter). Firstly - because I am now heavily pregnant and x-rays are therefore obviously still not an option for me and secondly because anyone who has attended an appointment at the dentist with a toddler knows that there is around 20 seconds with which the child will open their mouth and that's pretty much it. I had spent all morning preparing my daughter for the appointment to ease the inevitable anxiety she had about the visit - watching shows with dentists, reading storybooks about visiting the dentist etc and this was all in vain. A waste of time. I felt there was no consideration at all for my position or my daughter's feelings, the nature (+likely length) of the appointment - I was told to go away to make things easier on the dentist with no thought to patient care. I wonder if I had been seen as a private paying customer rather than an NHS one whether that would have changed how I was treated?

Fantastic experience: My son had to have a tooth put due to it fracturing. He had a bad experience before but the two ladies that seem to him today were absolutely amazing. They reassured him every step of the way and calmed him. It has been a really bad day over all and watching your child have a tooth out is never easy. I’m so thankful with how they cared for him.

Negative experience: When my girlfriend went for an appointment today for a check over and when she was finished I received a phone call to her crying down the phone due to the cruel comments from the practitioner on her teeth “ you will lose your teeth in five years “ and “ do you actually brush your teeth “. I think it’s disgusting how they belittled her and made her feel so little and not reassuring her as I would of thought they would been taught to do so, to have him laugh at her when she responded as-well is just rude and they should not be practicing but the assistant reassured her through the check up and tried to make sure she felt comfortable but to receive those comments from a professional is disgusting and unprofessional I believe this organisation needs to look at there staff and re-evaluate there situation and deal with this problem she will be not using these services again as I have seen it is not the greatest of practices over the years and has gone downhill but the good points of this organisation is that she was greeted to re assuring receptionist as she was feeling a bit wary of her appointment
