Negative experience: My son has had several appointments and the second to last one they took measurements, photos and everything and the last one was yesterday to put in the breakers, and the orthodontist who was the same one who saw us the first time who is very inefficient for me did the same thing as the first time as if it was the first visit and she tells me to give her my details and phone number and NHS and that she will call him back in a few weeks, I didn't understand since the kilo has a problem and with her inefficiency she is making the problem worse by doing this without explanation, I don't like the treatment of that doctor because I think she is being racist and classist because the times that she has seen us I can see the discomfort. I hope if they call me again she is not the one who sees me.

Negative experience: My child has been treated here for braces and I have to say the orthodontist’s work has been absolutely amazing – we are very happy with the results and the level of care from the dentist has been excellent. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the reception and support staff. On one occasion, I was called and told I had no appointment, only to be told later (after I called back) that this was a mistake and the appointment was in fact still booked. Had I not chased it up myself, the appointment would have been missed. When we were first referred, I was also told there was no referral on record, which caused unnecessary delays in getting my child seen, even though I was able to provide the exact date and time of the referral. On top of that, I’ve found the staff to be quite rude at times. When I asked questions I wasn’t sure about, I was spoken to in a patronising way and told it had “already been explained” – even though I had a valid reason for asking again. While I was there, another patient also asked a question about allergies for clarification and was made to feel silly for doing so. The orthodontic care itself is brilliant, but the way patients (and parents) are treated by some of the staff really lets the practice down

Negative experience: Catastrophic secretariat apart from one or two secretaries the others are very unpleasant, even impolite. I'm french I'm not very comfortable in English but I try to make an effort and every time they don't take the time to explain things to me regarding appointments, on the contrary I feel like I'm experiencing racism. I am happy with the orthodontic treatment but extremely disappointed with the patient care and appointments provided by the secretary. If I had to do it again, I would not come to this practice despite the quality of the care.

Negative experience: Be careful they are just into in profit. No empathy towards patients… I was charged £27.4 to just sat on the dentist’s chair. Also the receptionist spoke to me on the phone lied to me saying that the appointment will be £25. The dentist didn’t do absolutely anything and literally I sat on the chair and got charged for £27.4. Definitely the company goal is only Profit .

Negative experience: Deeply Disappointed by Lack of Professionalism and Urgency in Treating a Complex Orthodontic Case at Malmine Clinic I visited Malmine Clinic to have my daughter assessed, check whether her health insurance would cover her treatment, and, most importantly, understand her treatment plan going forward. We were seen by Dr. Sri Viththiya Jeganathan, an Indian orthodontist at the clinic. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing on multiple levels. Despite my clear explanation that my daughter has a complex crossbite requiring urgent orthodontic intervention before the age of nine—Before the jawbone becomes hard and cannot expand—Dr. Sri failed to provide any medical explanation, insight, or clear treatment plan. She did not review or even comment on the existing orthodontic appliance fitted in Germany, nor did she share her professional opinion on the previous treatment or how it should be followed up. When I asked about insurance coverage and whether an exception could be made for a case like my daughter’s, I was simply told that NHS insurance does not cover children at this age and that she should return in two and a half years. This response was not only dismissive, but it completely ignored the severity and time-sensitive nature of her condition. Even more troubling, Dr. Sri herself knows that waiting even one year would render orthodontic treatment ineffective, leading to the need for invasive jaw surgery. This surgery involves cutting the jawbone and separating it from the skull, a painful and traumatic procedure with a long recovery period—and even then, there is a high risk of relapse. Despite this alarming reality, no alternative solutions were offered. When I stressed the urgency of the matter and asked her to contact the NHS or guide me on how to initiate a request or exception, her reaction was cold and indifferent. Instead, I was told to book a private consultation with another specialist in the same clinic, giving the strong impression that financial gain was prioritized over proper medical care. What I needed was a qualified orthodontist to follow up monthly on the treatment that was already started abroad with a removable appliance—nothing more. Yet I was met with resistance and what appeared to be a lack of both competence and empathy. I did eventually speak with the polite clinic manager, as did the reception staff, but this courtesy did not resolve the core issue: a failure to provide a medically sound and ethical response to a serious case involving a child. The whole experience left me feeling frustrated, helpless, and extremely concerned for my daughter’s well-being. I now feel that my only recourse is to submit a formal complaint and seek a second opinion from a professional who understands the critical importance of early intervention in orthodontic treatment—particularly in cases involving skeletal issues.

Negative experience: Horrible. Appointments are 3 months or more apart, my daughter's braces broke 3 times this year, no emergency service. Leaving a message is useless as they never bother to call back. Now we are stuck on easter with no solution. I asked to change the doctor- but they refused and it keeps happening again again. Dreadful.

Negative experience: Very glitzy externally but hopelessly inefficient. Appointments are extremely inflexible! Treatment is needlessly spread out over numerous appointments which, with better management (and consideration of costs to NHS…) could be condensed into one. One particular case in point - which if not so frustrating, would be almost comical - was having had to travel in a great distance for an advance appointment …to sign a form…!! Yes, you read that correctly! To physically sign a form… in the year 2025! Two advance appointments were cancelled by the practice TWICE at very late notice due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’ with zero flexibility on rebooking options. Time to get your act together please and deliver a service that matches the decor.

Negative experience: For care centre that offers NhS treatment, and they make you pay straight away when you go for visit even that i went for my son 13 year old , very rude dr and she didn't let me even talk to her , very unprofessional . They should remove this clinic for NHS treatment.

Negative experience: Absolutely atrocious orthodontist. They fitted my 12 year daughter (Hampstead branch) with a poor fitting brace. Bits kept a snapping and breaking culminating in my daughter’s tongue getting caught in the brace. We had to take her to hospital to get her tongue free. We then had the whole brace removed. Malmin promised a refund. That was a month ago and still no refund. A truly awful place which should not be allowed to operate. The branch in Hampstead doesn’t even have rooms - you are seen with curtains separating you from the person next to you. Extremely unprofessional and dangerous place. Should be shut down.

Negative experience: For a treatment centre that offers NHS appointments its a joke. We have had three appointments over 9 months each appointment was barely 3 minutes long. All they do is push you to pay for extra treatments and drag the work you are booked for. Hoping you will go private. This place should never be listed as a nhs practitioner

Fantastic experience: My son needed a long period of orthodontic treatment to improve his teeth and smile. I have to say that over the last 3 years he has had an amazing personalised experience that is far beyond any that you would expect to receive. Malmin are highly recommended for their bespoke advice and service. Zaira in particular goes out of her way to make sure your personal health and wellness is part of the package.

Fantastic experience: I had a lovely experience at Malmin. I had braces for 5 years (due to my severe malocclusion) so I had braces for a long while. Dr Leena Junghare persevered and the result was my confidence to smile returned. I'm very grateful and I'd recommend this practice and Dr Leena to anyone seeking orthodontic treatment from a caring and professional team.

Negative experience: The nurse this morning was very rude and disrespectful. She was ignoring my questions and saying every time: Have a seat. Even my daughter told me nobody deserves to be treated like that. It was awful.

Negative experience: Not happy at all with this surgery. The receptionist aren’t helpful. You had to go on and on with your query and if lucky they may understand what is what you are trying to request. My daughter’s dentist requested X rays from them because some teeth isn’t showing. She is turning 10 soon . They just say that nothing needs to be done because the orthodontist hasn’t requested this . So dentist requesting X rays , vs Orthodontist team not doing it !The orthodontist will see my daughter this year in November. Meanwhile the X’ rays that her dentist requested are not going to be done. Three or four phone calls for them to say “there’s nothing that needs to be done” ! Frustrating how unhelpful they were

Positive experience: This is an amazing orthodontic and dental centre, they have looked after my daughter from day one. Once you step in you are welcomed by the lovely receptionist at the front desk. Very clean and everyone is so professional with concern and good care for the patients.

Positive experience: Efficient and professional service but we also felt like components in a production line with no explanation of the treatment or possible issues that my daughter might experience once the braces were fitted. No issues about the actual fitting but the bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired.
