Fantastic experience: Dr James Bennett is an absolute genius!!! When I arrived at the smile studio in March 25 for a consultation I didn’t know what to expect, I didn’t know whether my badly cracked and broken teeth combined with my different length gums could ever be fixed. From the start, James completely put me at my ease, was very reassuring and talked me through all the treatment I would need. He also reassured me that he could fix my smile! Within 5 months, I have absolutely beautiful teeth and I cannot stop smiling! Its been a lot of hard work on James’ part and from Abbie his lovely , kind, caring nurse to get my teeth so good and I am so grateful to them both for giving me back my confidence and self esteem. They have both been so kind, caring, compassionate and reassuring throughout all the treatment visits, plus also really excited to see my new smile! I can’t thank them enough! Positive experience: I recently had my teeth whitened at Sevil Smile Studio and I am very pleased with the results. The staff and customer service were excellent, and I cannot fault them in any way. That said, as it was my first time having this treatment, I was not fully aware of how painful the process can be—particularly if you have sensitive teeth. I experienced significant discomfort and pain both during the procedure and throughout the rest of the day. While I now understand this can be a common side effect, I feel I was not fully advised about the potential level of pain beforehand. To their credit, the team did everything possible to help ease my discomfort, even allowing me to return later that day for an injection, which did eventually bring relief. This may partly have been due to my own lack of research, but I would not want others to go into the treatment as unprepared as I did.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Smile Studio I've had other cosmetic work done here to a great standard but the care I received while dealing with a severe dental infection was top tier. I had my root canal treatment done by their specialist endodontist, Dr. Taz and my crown placed by Dr. James. Initially I was very concerned I would lose my tooth but Dr Taz went above and beyond to ensure I did not. I am exceptionally grateful for their perseverance. I felt like a human again after Dr James placed my crown - I can chew again! The entire team was professional, reassuring, and clearly very skilled. I felt well taken care of from start to finish. The reception team are wonderful - they are helpful and compassionate people - making the process of managing dental issues a little easier. I'd highly recommend 65 Rodney St for Root canal treatment, crowns and restorative work. Their genuine care and expertise is the only reason I still have my tooth! Thank you!
Negative experience: My porcelain veneer fell out January 2024, contacted smile studio on feb 1st-2nd, got an appointment and went to get it sorted, it was almost a week later. £650 for the tooth, reception was friendly, went to get tooth measured and moulds took. Oh fitting the tooth was set a little further back than I was used to meaning it was shadowed in certain light, I complained about this only to be told that that's how my teeth are, so I showed an image of my teeth from 1-2 weeks before I went to see them, it was flush, I said so you're saying my teeth have moved that much in that time? No I don't think so. They said they can't do anything, I said I'll just come down there and wait until this is resolved, im not happy, so they refunded me, at this point I thought, fair play you've done the right thing. Around 2 weeks ago so April 2025, not even a year and a half later. The veneer fell off, meant to last 10-15 years like the one before it fitted in 2010, I paid synergy to put it back in for £80. Oh and when they went to take my money, £650, they asked for £750. I can't recommend these people, they also used some tactics to get me to do additional treatments, when I just wanted my veneer back so I could smile again. Pretty awful, I'd never go back again. I do take care of my teeth, I brush twice a day and I eat well, the previous tooth lasted 14 years which proves this and my other veneer is still going strong. Less than 17 months is appalling for any veneer, even composite should last longer than this.

We are saddened to see your review.
Looking back on our email correspondence from May 2024 we had ended our professional relationship very amicably and both parties wished each other well for the future. We refunded you the full amount of the veneer with the view that you would use this money to have the veneer replaced elsewhere to your satisfaction.
We see that this was not the case and the veneer that we made was not replaced elsewhere. Although it disheartened us at the time that you expressed dissatisfaction, we are happy that you found it aesthetically pleasing enough to leave in situ after the refund.
Had we still maintained the professional relationship, we would of immediately recemented/ replaced the veneer once it came off in April 2025. As all patients are made aware in our consent forms sometimes this can happen, however, under the guarantee we will ensure this is rectified.
In regards to the charges, our veneers cost £750 per tooth. We agreed to a discounted cost of £650 however there was a miscommunication with the reception team who naturally asked for practice retail amount of £750. As soon as the receptionist got further clarification of the discount, she took £650 only. This was not majorly disputed. It was a lack of communication that we apologised for at the time.
All cosmetic dentists will suggest treatments to patients that will enhance their smile, or necessary treatments such as fillings and extractions but at no point do we pressure patients to uptake. We didn’t provide any quotations for additional work or pursue any follow up emails for additional work
We hope that you can now replace this veneer at another practice with the funds from the refund in 2024 and achieve a positive outcome.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend this dentist enough. Had a tooth fixed by Dr Bennett and he was lovely and calming, answered any questions i had and explained the process of what he was doing, my tooth was fixed and looked exactly how i wanted it. Fantastic experience: Can't recommend enough! I hadn't been to a dentist in nearly 14 years after repeated bad experiences and fear. The team made me feel really comfortable and relaxed each visit. The work I had done was quite extensive but mostly cosmetic. I got a root canal and crown, a bridge installed on my upper teeth to replace a missing tooth, composite white fillings to replace them all, a rebuild of my teeth from excessive grinding, composite bonding on my front teeth as well, and finally teeth whitening. The team were very flexible and offered solutions to any concerns or questions I had and adjusted my treatment plan and appointments to fit (namely me choosing to have whitening before bonding, which wasn't in my original consultation.) The cost can seem a lot, but I do believe you get what you pay for when it comes to cosmetics. I wanted a natural looking smile and they achieved that for me!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at Liverpool Smile Studio - I wanted my teeth whitening and one tooth bonded to make my smile more symmetrical. Other dentists had told me that it might not be possible to get the look I wanted via bonding as it may look bulky and encouraged me to get Invisalign instead, but the dentist at Liverpool Smile Studio did it no problem - the before and after photos show just how impressive the results were. I am now much more confident in my smile and would be happy to go back for further check ups and appointments as it is a comforting place to go.

Fantastic experience: I spent much of my life self-conscious about my teeth, covering my mouth when I smiled. Roughly 5-7 years ago I decided to go the Smile Studio and have a complete smile makeover done by Dr James Bennett and his team. Ever since the completion of my smile any self-confidence issues were gone. It was without any doubt the best decision of my life. I have always been reluctant seeing a hygienist as I have very sensitive teeth and the process always causes sensitivity pain. However, this ladies touch is so delicate I have never had that pain occur. The whole team are great from the ladies that welcome you and handle all my appointments. The environment is very comfortable and relaxed. Overall, it took me a while becoming comfortable with dentists managing my teeth as it is a very intrusive part of life. I am pleased to say now I am completely relaxed and at ease with the whole of the Smile Studio's team, it’s a relief to know my dental management is in their capably hands. Fantastic experience: I first visited the Smile Studio 2 months ago and have so far had appointments with Jeanine, Alison the hygienest, and James. All of them made me feel really at ease, were informative, professional and courteous. I had to have some extractions with James today as part of an orthodontic treatment plan and I'm still so impressed by how smooth the appointment went considering I was so anxious beforehand. The receptionists are warm and friendly and the place doesn't have a 'clinical' feel to it which helps with anxiety if you get nervous about visiting the dentist. Honestly, couldn't recommend the practice enough!
Fantastic experience: Alison is the best hygienist I have ever been to. Normally I would have been on the ceiling and have even needed my gums numbed in the past. Alison is so gentle and thorough and my oral hygiene has vastly improved since I have been visiting her regularly.
Fantastic experience: I was a bit nervous about the change of management a few years back, but needn’t have been. My hygienist, Alison, is still there and is genuinely the best I have ever visited by far, she has a magic touch. My new dentist, James, is great and always takes time to discuss any issues and ensure I understand everything about my check up and any treatment. Front desk are friendly and efficient too.
Negative experience: Staff are very rude and abrupt. I was 3 minutes late for a check up and was turned away even tho i explained I was stuck in traffic. Receptionists are rude!

Fantastic experience: Had veneers, bridges and root canal work over 10 years ago, had no problems, and delighted with the results. Received excellent treatment and after care is second to none. Would not hesitate to recommend James and his team. Due to Covid and isolation I have been unable to have a check up for some time and only just been informed he is now in Rodney Street.

Fantastic experience: Professionalism and very good service. I went for an overview for a gingival infection and also had a wisdom tooth extraction. Everything has been well explained, the doctors are very clear and friendly. The extraction was perfect, she didn’t feel any pain, just soreness for a few days later. Very clean place. Fantastic experience: I've been going to smile studio for the past year, the reception staff are really friendly and helpful, and James who has been working on my teeth is the best dentist I've ever had. Informative, friendly, and never made me feel like I was being rushed out or that they were clock watching my appointments. Now the price.. they're expensive (but it's private so to be expected) but you get what you pay for, I had various fillings and a root canal with zero pain whatsoever.. during, or afterwards, they literally changed my life! if you want professional, personable service I can't highly recommend this practice enough. Fantastic experience: Shopped about for a few dentists around 13/14 for a few treatments to straighten my teeth, Smile Studio offered the most competitive price and finance deal. I went and met James he was great, listens to everything during consulations and doesn't rush treatment. I was adamant I didn't want a brace James gave me a few options but advised what best outcome would be. He speaks through plan during treatment so you know what to expect/timescales. I have had a few hygiene appointments here too a lot of advice on how to keep my teeth healthy also. Girls in reception are great always make you feel welcome and have a good laugh. Will keep this as main dentist moving forward better service, especially during covid always call beforehand make sure attending and no symptoms before arriving. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic experience: I had 4 teeth out over 2 appointments as part of orthodontic treatment I'm undergoing. Dr Bennet was extremely warm, professional and informative, putting me at ease and explaining everything. All practice staff were pleasant and helpful too. I would not hesitate to recommend.
Negative experience: Had been using this dentist for approximately 10 years. I like the hygienist there and Debbie the dentist was excellent. Since her departure it seems the place has fallen apart. No longer receive the friendly welcome on arrival, and I wouldn't pay the male dentist I saw (Debbie's replacement) to fill a bucket, never mind a tooth. I have various health issues that I was trying to explain and I knew he wasn't listening to me. He merely sat there nodding in an appropriate place and smiling at me in a condescending manner. He started explaining that I needed several hundred pounds worth of treatment to fix my issues (absolutely the opposite of Debbie's findings earlier in the year). Later, when I was with the hygienist, he phoned her to get her to tell me he thought I had bad dental hygiene. Not only is this incorrect, he didn't have the nerve to tell me himself, instead giving someone else the bullet. I immediately complained to the hygienest about this issue but she didn't know what to say. I haven't been back to the place since and they haven't even noticed! The amount of money I have spent in that building over the years! No appointment reminders or anything! Just goes to show how much they care about the patient. EDIT date 16th January 2020. Just had a phone call from the receptionist who was trying to convince me to go back for an a check up. I told them the above and why I certainly would not return. I'm told that the dentist I saw was Dr Bennet and that he is now the owner of the practice. Conveniently he was not available for me to speak to. I asked to speak to the practice manager who insinuated I was lying about the phone call Dr Bennet made to Alison the hygienist. I have asked to prove that this did happen with Alison in person and I was told I'd have to pay for an appointment to do this because she is a very busy person. I said I wanted a refund for the awful service I received on the last visit and I was refused point blank. She asked why I hadn't written in and complained. Of course she hasn't read my email. She said that they only accept complaints in writing (welcome to the 21st century, email is writing!). When I said that I would amend my Google review to further complain about this issue, the manager, Becky, threatened me with legal action. Go ahead Becky, there is nothing that I have said here that isn't the truth. So, Dr Bennet, if you ever do get to read this, I think you and your staff should be ashamed of yourselves. I am disgusted you have made me feel like this on not one occasion, but two. UPDATE OCTOBER 2020 Up until last month, despite numerous complaints and requests to be removed from their mailing list, this dental house has kept me on it and I still receive promotional emails. This is a breach of GDPR and I have reported this to the IPO. I am now with a new dentist and the experience there is far superior. I cannot believe the difference in service. I am so glad I am not with this dreadful company any more.

Could have saved yourselves the bad review if you had not chosen to randomly harass me. I attended Heyman's green SIX YEARS AGO and was treated in an appalling manner. I have never been made to feel so small. My appointment was traumatic actually, so texting me lots, after all this time is insanity.

Fantastic experience: Recently had veneers done at Rodney street and I have been very pleased with not just the results but the service that went with. Dr Bennett and the whole team were very friendly, professional and competent and I am delighted with the results. One of the veneers came off 4 weeks after been put on as I bit into a very hard corn on the cob. I was given an emergency procedure the next day at no extra cost, despite my dentist being on holiday and it was sorted immediately by Carly on reception. Overall very impressed and happy I chose to go to them.
Fantastic experience: Finished my treatment today with Dr Jeanine McGinty. She's always happy and makes you feel at ease and welcome. She explains everything what she's doing. Positive experience: The reception staff are helpful and the dentists I have seen have all been really nice put you at ease and always seen to have plenty of time for you rather than just wanting to get rid of you and wanting the next patient like other practices I've been too.
Negative experience: My inquiry was dealt with in professionally and helpful manner and resulted in me purchasing a teeth whitening gift for a happy Christmas smile. That was then!!! Two years on: I was on my way to an appointment and for reasons beyond my control (roadworks causing a significant tailback) I knew I would be about 10 mins late, so I telephoned to let them know and why. I was told "its ok ill let the dentist know". I arrived as I'd anticipated, 10 minutes late, and was asked to take a seat in the waiting room, I was sat for less than a minute before I was called out again by the receptionist to be told, I was too late and could not be seen. I explained about my telephone call and her response; "its not my fault I didn't take your call, you shouldn't have been to that" she very 'kindly' offered to make a new appointment. I declined and left. Had I have been told during my telephone call that I would not be seen if I was late, I wouldn't have bothered making any further effort to get there and rearranged. The week before, I attended another appointment for which the time had been changed by them, without an apology or telephone call to ask if it was ok, just a text message telling me my appointment time had changed. I was early for that one however, I was kept waiting 15 minutes beyond my appointment time, but then I suppose I am just the customer so what does that matter. Needless to say, I will not use this practice again and move on to another who will hopefully treat customers with a little more curtesy.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend enough. The quality of treatment I have received so far has been second to none. Dr Bennett has been fantastic at designing a personalised treatment plan which I am thrilled with, and also Becky who discussed the best options for me in terms of time frame, availability, payment plans and any other questions I had. The branch also has a really welcoming and comfortable feel which is great.
Positive experience: I wrote a review for this dentist as soon as I became a patient giving them 5*. However after being a patient now with them for over a year I feel it necessary to change my review. The receptionists are usually generally very good. They dealt with my registration in a straight forward and simple way and booked my first appointment within 7 days. When I visited the dentist, he was very transparent and gave me a lot of advice and feedback. He was approachable and made me feel at ease. What this dentist practice is not good at is communication and organisation. I often receive text messages saying that they have had to cancel my appointment and please contact us to rebook. I think a personal call should be made by the practice at this stage not just a cancellation SMS. it doesn’t leave you feeling very valued. I also continue to receive incorrect appointment reminders by email. Their system is not as efficient as it could be. I would have no hesitation in recommending the care you receive at this practice. Their NHS dentist is fantastic, what let’s them down is their organisation and efficiency.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my family have been at this friendly practice for over 20 years, in which we have had various treatments and would highly recommend it. My 19 year old daughter has attended since she was a toddler and never once been afraid of going for a check up. She is now often complimented on how beautiful and well looked after her teeth are.

Fantastic experience: Review of the Practice at 65 Rodney Street, Liverpool L1 9EX: for over 25 years I have received care of the highest clinical standards and technical expertise, coupled with a truly patent-centric dental health care ethos, from both Dr Jacqueline Walters BDS (dental surgeon) and Alison Haigh EDH (dental hygienist). Importantly, Jackie and Alison both have excellent people skills that, in what can sometimes be an uneasy medical situation, put the patient at ease at all times regardless of the procedure that we have agreed on proceeding with. I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Jackie's clinical skills, competency, great humour and chair-side wit; along with Alison's dedication to maintaining the ongoing health of my teeth. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of dentist Jackie and hygienist Allison for nearly 20 years, and I have been in the very best hands. Initially, my teeth needed some significant conservative work, which Jackie did expertly with gold inlays, of which only one needed replacement recently but did not cause any problems. I can highly recommend this practice. All staff know what they are doing and have a very professional approach to it.

Negative experience: Shocking fee structure. I rang and made a appointment for the hygienist which was clearly listed at £34.80 . They took a £15 deposit which was fine. A couple of hours later I had a call that the first appointment was not £34.80 but instead £69. I cancelled immediately as this is outrageous costing for a 30 minute hygienist. I even asked to be registered as a patient but they said I'd still pay that first. I was interested in having other private cosmetic work done but they've lost all trust now. I will return to my private dentist in Manchester

Our hygienist charge is £34.80 for existing patients, who have seen one of our dentist's within the last 3 months, and this appointment is 15 mins.
For direct access to the hygienist (for non patient's) the cost is £69.00 as direct access patients require 30 mins.
The receptionist, unfortunately, booked you in as an existing patient by mistake and upon realising, quickly called to inform you so.
We are sorry that you are unhappy with our prices, we find them to be quite competitive for the Liverpool area. We also apologise for the receptionist's moment of forgetfulness, but we are pleased she called you back in a timely manner.

Fantastic experience: I am an extremely nervous patient, and when I was told I would need a tooth out it was my worse fear and I even been having horrible dreams of what was going to happen however now having it done I honestly don't know what I was worried about , the dentist (sorry don't know his name) was amazing and not only him but all the staff put me at ease straight away. Negative experience: I would give 1 star if I could. Waited over 4 weeks for someone to contact me, only to then be told there is 1 appointment in 1 weeks time which was not convenient due to work commitments and I was told well its that or nothing. At a price of £65.00 for a consultation I would expect the staff to be more friendly and accommodating. I have asked my dentist to refer me elsewhere. I cannot comment on any other staff but reception whos attitude stinks. When I told them I would ask to be referred elsewhere as I cannot attend the appointment, the girl said alright bye and just hung up. They dont want the work it seems. Everything happens for a reason and I feel I have dodged a bullet here.

Negative experience: The dentist are friendly and helpful. What is upsetting me is. I have chosen the private white fillings over two hundreds pounds which I am happy to pay as we agreed before the treatments. I have also confirmed with front desk that it is the total price I need to pay. After a week and half of my treatment, I got told I need to pay another £20.60 because of THEIR system error and mistakes. She said the charge didn't show up on the system when I had my filling done, but I think the mistake could have been fixed earlier as I have done the two fillings in two separated days. Also, they are not taking any kind of responsibilities over the issue. When I agreed to pay the money as I can't stand to argue with the manger anymore. I am not confident to give them the bank details just in case they may charge me again after a few weeks because another delay or error shows up on they system! I said I can pay them cash in the dentist. She won't pay for the travelling cost to go to the dentist, but this isn't my problem of not paying them all together while I was in the dentist last time, why should I cost myself to go to the dentist again to pay for their mistake or system error? So we agreed to send the cash in post finally, but she is not taking any responsibility either if the money got lost and she won't pay for recorded post too. What a great way of treating patient!
