Fantastic experience: From start to finish my needs were met with sensitivity, understanding and up most care. My treatment started in June last year 2024, I need quite a lot of teeth removed, and I explained my fear of what was to come, needles were my greatest fear. Dr Lewis Butler, took all this into consideration and used finer needles and massaged my gum and cheek before each injection, which worked a treat and I have to say I really didn't feel much at all. Fast forward to this year, when the time came to have new dentures made, again Dr Lewis listened to my needs and understood exactly what I wanted my smile, mouth even down to my lip line. I had my impressions taken, then a week later I went to try my wax prototype, oh my goodness, they were perfect so much so I cried. Then today, 5 days later I collected my perfect new dentures, I finally have the smile I've dreamed about for the last 5 years and I can't thank Dr Lewis enough. From start to finish of my treatment I couldn't be more happy with the service, and all the staff I have met whilst attending my appointments have been warm, friendly and very welcoming. I strongly advise anyone thinking of a private dentist, then look no further than Advance Dental.

Fantastic experience: I simply cannot recommend Advance Dental Care enough. I'm primarily leaving this review on behalf of my significant other who requested that I "rate it 10 stars out of 5" because the care was simply that good. However, I'm also leaving this review of my own volition as it's important to understand just how phenomenal the service was from my perspective too. My significant other, sadly, was faced with the news that she had impacted wisdom teeth that needed immediate removal. As one can imagine in today's day and age, the "standard process" was unacceptable (long waiting times, etc.) and I was informed to consider the private extraction of the impacted teeth. This is all following an already excruciating year long wait at a different dentist. Inevitably, we went hunting for someone who we could entrust with such an important task and I came across Dr Lewis Vernon Butler at Advance Dental Care. From the very first interaction that we had with Advance Dental Care, to where we are today (post operation), and I wholeheartedly can say going into the future: the care has been second to none. The entirety of the team have gone truly above and beyond for the both of us. We had a series of interactions over this time (to be precise, four): one to identify the issue, one for a pre operation hygienist appointment, one for a sedation consultation and finally one for the operation itself. All of which were second to none. This leaves me in a perfect position to write this review as we've dealt with a plethora of different people during this time, but still predominantly Dr Butler who was laser-focused on ensuring the absolute success of the operation. Despite the complexities of the procedure, Dr Butler (and his wonderful team) effortlessly executed the procedure to perfection and did an incredible job, making it seem like a walk in the park. This is entirely attributable to the many years of experience and overwhelming education in and dedicated to the field. My significant other is now post operation and she's swiftly recovering rapidly. The wonderful team will continue to be in-touch in the immediate days and weeks following, and have informed us both that they are merely a phone call away should we ever require them. Needless to say, going forward, we'll be in for all future work that may be required, including hygienist appointments; and that's not just for my significant other, but also for myself. I simply cannot recommend Advance Dental Care enough. Thank you to the entire team.

Fantastic experience: I had been struggling with a problem tooth for a long time. I kept going to another clinic repeatedly, but despite numerous treatments, the problem never went away. When I came here for the first time, Dr Poppy was able to quickly identify the real cause. During the procedure, unexpected complications arose and it required cones and stitches, yet she stayed calm, focused, and reassuring the entire time. I could truly feel that I was in the hands of a skilled professional. What surprised me most was my own reaction. I have always had a strong fear of the dentist, but while sitting in the chair, I was completely at ease. The trust and confidence she inspired in me made all the difference.

Fantastic experience: I recently had crown lengthening done at Advance Dental with Dr Lewis, I was really nervous beforehand, but the team went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at ease! Both Dr Lewis and the dental nurse (I’m so sorry I have forgot your name!) were so kind, professional, and explained everything so clearly, which really helped calm my nerves. The procedure itself went smoothly, and I’m already so happy with the results. Normally Im nervous and embarrassed going to the dentist but Advance Dental Care made me feel comfortable and welcome. Fantastic experience: I am a nervous patient, but Dr Poppy Burgess and the team have been fantastic throughout. They have gone above and beyond to make me feel as at-ease as possible at every stage of treatment. All the staff have been friendly and welcoming, and I would highly recommend the practice!

Negative experience: I will to disagree with most of these comments. Booked an emergency appointment to get a filling as my NHS emergency appointment gave a diagnosis but couldnt do the filling for me. Got there explained the issue, and I was made to have another two x-rays and the dentist came up with a different diagnosis, talked about other issues charged more than £100 for x-rays and came up with a treatment plan of £1400. Funny enough i managed to get another emergency appointment on the same day and it looked like that the NHS dentist got the diagnosis right and i got treated now elsewhere. Waste of time and money. A reply after 3 months asking me to edit my experience at the place!! Well the update is I called the practice back then and asked for a call back from the manager and I didn’t get it, then I emailed and mentioned the GDC and surprise surprise I got the call back and I spoke to the dentist as well (who is a regular dentist in the practice) The dentist refused that the diagnosis was wrong even though I had the problem treated elsewhere (and it wasnt the tooth that was mentioned in your practice) Give patients a better experience instead of asking them to edit their experience and change the truth.

Fantastic experience: such a friendly practice! really lovely receptionist, dentist and hygienist. poppy the dentist really made me feel at ease gemma the hygienist showed me exactly how i should be brushing my teeth to keep them clean. I really wish i had switched to private years ago as they make you feel valued rather than just a number. 100 % worth the extra money you pay :)

Fantastic experience: I recently joined this practice and have been really impressed with the care throughout. At my first appointment, everything was clearly explained, and I received a detailed treatment plan. I've had two hygiene sessions with Gemma, who has been fantastic—friendly, professional, and full of helpful advice. I also had four fillings done; one unfortunately needed a root canal, but I felt well-informed and supported the whole time. Dr. Poppy has looked after me from start to finish with great care and clarity, and the receptionist has always been kind and welcoming. I’m very happy with the service and feel confident in the care I’m receiving.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending this practice after years of avoiding the dentist and my experience of the whole practice and all their staff has been really positive. I was initially treated by dentist Poppy, firstly on an emergency basis and then for some follow up treatment and throughout she was totally professional, calm and reassuring making a difficult experience much easier. I really feel Poppy provided excellent treatment and as a result she gave me the confidence to visit the hygienist, Gemma, who is great. She is really friendly, totally non-judgemental, gave excellent advice and although I have heard stories of hygiene appointments being painful I experienced no pain and only a small amount of discomfort and my teeth already feel so much better.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! Went as an emergency patient, got sorted there and then after months of back and forth with my own dentist. Fantastic experience: I was first met by Lauren the receptionist who was very welcoming and offered a drink. I was early to my appointment and wasn't left waiting long before the Dentist Poppy came out to introduce herself, she was very kind and explained everything thoroughly. I can't thank the 2 lady's (Poppy and her assistant) enough, they have made an immense pain I was suffering go away. They offered further advice on treatments that I may need in the future. A very clean, tidy and welcoming building premises. All the staff are an absolute credit to the company.

Fantastic experience: Cannot believe how much my life as been turned around in three short weeks. Booked into see Poppy after being in pain and my existing dentist had left the business. Was nervous to try somewhere new but had to do it. The whole team made me feel welcome from start to finish. My teeth were in a mess due to radioactive treatment and after only three visits I am no longer in pain, Poppy has rebuilt my teeth and I am overjoyed. Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to a dentist in quite some time due to previous bad experiences. I saw both Lewis and Daisy 28/4/25 and they made me feel at ease. They were extremely knowledgeable, happy to answer questions and most importantly were gentle and considerate with the work they were doing. Best dental experience I've had and will be returning here regularly.

Negative experience: Got an emergency appointment for £45 was told my appointment was 15.30 turned up on time and Was sat in reception for 45 minutes waiting to be called in. When I saw the dentist he said the tooth needs coming out which I already knew. Then was told I had to have an x-ray which will cost me £70 and then book a appointment to have it removed for a extra £300 I said no then got told I had a infection and I could have antibiotics for £50 I was shocked.

Fantastic experience: I recently had an implant to remove a problematic baby tooth at Advance Dental Care. The process started in late 2024. Lewis was very thorough and excellent at explaining my options and the pros and cons of each. I felt supported in my decision and a timeline was soon put in place for the removal of my tooth, the fitting of the implant, the abutment and the crown. After the first step of having my tooth removed I was given a care pack, with instructions and a follow up phone call the next day to check I was okay. The appointments that followed continued to demonstrate the care and quality of Lewis and the team at Advance Dental Care. My treatment finished today in the fitting of my crown and you honestly wouldn’t know that it isn’t my original tooth. Lewis discussed with me how to look after my implant, what I may feel in the coming days and the reassurance that if anything didn’t feel right to go back and see him. I would highly recommend Lewis and his team at Advance Dental Care for implants and other services!

Fantastic experience: I had started with really bad tooth ache and managed to get a same day emergency appointment. Xrays taken and saw Dr Butler. Treatment plan was sorted on that day everything was very clear and there was no pressure to commit to treatment. I'm very nervous about dentists and was always put at ease by the staff and Dr. Butler. Had my extraction the week after my initial appointment and was put at ease throughout the process everything was explained and will definitely be going back.

Fantastic experience: I am a patient at Advance Dental Care and I cannot praise them too highly. I have been with the practice for over 40 years and have received excellent service both from Mark, Lewis' father, and, now the baton has been passed to Lewis, it has been picked up and run with very smoothly indeed. Lewis is one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet. He is so very welcoming, extremely kind and a credit to his profession. I think of some of the dreadful experiences of 'the school dentist' when I was a girl-they seem a different breed to Lewis and his dad. All the staff at the practice are a delight, again warm and welcoming. Sophie, my hygienist, is always bright and chatty and leaves me with a sparkling mouth!!! I would say to anyone who is looking for a new dentist or if you are afraid of dental treatment look no further than Advance-you will be grateful you found them as I always have been.

Negative experience: Not good at all booked an appointment just before Christmas for a checkup as I have a chipped tooth. 2 days ago I started to feel unwell with this flu bug that’s going around. Had a text message from the clinic to ask me to follow link and fill in some forms. I then responded to the text to advise that I was feeling unwell and that I would not be attending my appointment. I have now seen today that my message was not delivered to the practice as I think you cannot reply to the message sent which I think is unacceptable. So I then rang them today to say I had sent a message but it did not deliver so I’ve rung to cancel and rebook to be told I would have to pay another £20 to book another appointment as I haven’t given anough notice to cancel my last appointment and that I have lost the first £20 I had paid for the first appointment. I think this is totally unacceptable as I’ve made every effort to inform the practice I was unwell and would not be attending. Not very good practice at all.

Fantastic experience: I had planned to have composite bonding with a nearby practice but was recommended Lewis at ADC educated me to the superior choice of minimal preparation veneers, and had a dental implant and 10 minimal preparation veneers. I would definitely advise a consultation here.

Fantastic experience: Last week I had to have an emergency dentist appointment after being in a ridiculous amount of pain, (i am absolutely petrified of dentists) I managed to get an appointment the same day, was welcomed by a lovely reception team who made me feel at ease straight away, and then into a room with Dr Lewis, who made the experience so relaxed and explained everything in detail to help. I had to have a tooth extraction and managed to get booked in the following week, the experience itself was fast and I didn’t feel a thing, again the staff were lovely and made everything feel so calm and easy.

Fantastic experience: Really pleased with service and outcome of recent dental work. Had whitening and composite fillings and the colour match and attention to detail to blend with existing teeth really good. Poppy is really friendly and provides all the time you need to answer questions and hygienist appointment has changed the way I brush my teeth for good. Fantastic experience: After years of bad experiences with other dentists I gave up on my teeth, until the pain became more than the fear. Dr Lewis was recommended to me by a family member and after having my first ever, pain free experience, I cannot recommend him or thank him enough. Never did I believe I'd ever sit in a dentists chair again and to get through a root canal with such ease was an amazing experience. Dr Lewis took the time to explain everything to me and saved my tooth from having to be removed. He was an absolute sweetheart. If your a nervous patient, I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I want to thank Lewis and his team for making me feel so at ease during a root canal procedure that I was dreading! I am quite a nervous person anyway and 18 weeks pregnant. They were so patient and kind with me and helped me work through my fear. I had absolutely no pain during both procedures and my tooth infection soon resolved. She is a consummate professional, skillful, knowledgeable and has such a great manner with patients. Kate on reception always gives me the warmest of welcomes, is really proactive getting everything ready and managing all bookings and payments. Fantastic experience: After struggling to obtain an emergency dental appointment with the NHS 111 service I conducted an online search and managed to book an emergency appointment for only two hours later here. The dentist and the dental assistant were absolutely fantastic. I truly felt like they cared and wanted not to just ‘make money’ or do a ‘quick fix’ but to really get to the bottom of the underlying issue. I cannot recommend this dentist enough and if I lived closer I would most definitely be registering at this practise!

All staff are extremely nice and friendly, they try at accommodate as much as posible with appointment dates and times and they always make their customers aware of any costs before the procedure. Fantastic experience: What a fantastic dentist! I required an emergency appointment (on a Sunday) due to severe toothache, and was booked in the same day. I saw Dr Lewis Butler and Charlotte, Dr Butler assessed the issue.. took x-rays and showed them to me, explaining that I needed a root canal. Dr Butler did the root canal there and then, which has fully alleviated the severe toothache, along with a prescribed course of antibiotics. The service from Dr Butler, and Charlotte was exceptional, making sure I felt comfortable and fully understood what was going on with my tooth via the x-rays and the reason for the root canal. Thank you both ever so much for being so attentive, and alleviating the pain.

Fantastic experience: I usually dread going to the dentist no matter the condition of my teeth. However, my experience at Advance Dental Care was surprisingly pleasant and constructive. During my visit to the hygienist, I was impressed by the calm and supportive atmosphere. Dr. Gemma Goddard made me feel reassured during the check-up of my teeth. She provided clear guidance on improving the health of my teeth and gums, creating a supportive and considerate environment throughout the visit. The combination of friendly staff, a skilled dentist, and a comfortable setting at the clinic contributed to a truly positive experience.

Fantastic experience: Kind and friendly team. I booked in an emergency appointment due to an errant premolar, which I had a left a little bit too long, becoming abscessed. Lewis put me at ease and was very professional. I’ve had a root canal and filling. While it sounds terrifying, it’s not as bad as you think, I won’t lie and say it’s an experience we would all volunteer for, but if you have a dodgy tooth unfortunately it’s a needs must situation, and honestly you can’t go wrong with letting Lewis sort the issue out. It’s barely even sore after and you don’t feel much at all during the procedure. I’ve also been to hygienist Gemma who is helping me sort out my oral health, and my teeth and gums are looking great compared to before. If you have a fear of the dentist, they will look after you here. Don’t put off getting care like me.

Fantastic experience: My son needed emergency treatment at the weekend due to sudden pain in one of his lower back teeth. After searching around I managed to make an appointment at Advanced Dental Care in Sandal. We saw Dr Lewis Butler and Daisy who were immediately supportive and reassuring to my son who struggles in social situations due to being on the Autistic Spectrum. They were amazing with him. He needed to have root canal treatment. I was able to watch it all on screen as Lewis did the procedure. He explained every little part and asked if we had questions. I cannot praise them enough. Fantastic experience: I contacted Advance Dental Care as I had a wisdom tooth which was causing me pain and cutting into the tissue in my mouth. After booking an appointment, Dr Lewis Butler gave me a full check up and quickly fitted me in for the tooth removing on the same day. The procedure was simple and pain free. He then created a treatment plan with recommendations of other treatments, including a filling and appointments to see the Hygienist. I have since had the filling done, which is to an excellent standard and visited the Hygienist. Fantastic experience: Really friendly and pleasant staff all round, Dr Poppy Burgess put me at ease since the very first appointment, real professionalism and class at what she does. Fantastic experience: Having been presented with the problem of a broken crown tooth and some others cracked around it, I requested the help of Lewis Butler at Advance Dental Care in Sandal, Wakefield. Lewis and the team were excellent throughout. Providing expert advice and reassurance throughout whilst I received a number of complexed treatments. Initially, my broken crown required root canal treatment. The procedure and advice on pain management were all excellent, resulting in everything being as comfortable as possible throughout. It’s fair to say that I was a nervous patient going into the procedure, but Lewis and team were on hand at every stage to ease my concerns. I had considered composite bonding as an option to fix my broken teeth, until speaking with Lewis. He instead recommended porcelain veneers for best results and the most natural look. Other dental practices had suggested that significant preparation of my teeth would be required for veneers but Lewis was able to educate me about minimal/no preparation veneers and their benefits in terms of aesthetics and longevity when compared to composite bonding. The veneer option is what I ultimately chose and I couldn’t be happier with the results. The preparation, application and aftercare advice from Lewis all the way through meant that I was clear about what to expect at every stage. I’ve since had a lot of really nice comments about my teeth since Lewis fitted the veneers, and in doing so he most definitely has improved my smile. I highly recommended Lewis and Advance Dental Care for everyday dentistry, complexed dental procedures and also cosmetic dentistry too.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency root canal and they managed to fit me in extremely quickly! I suffer from anxiety which meant I (rather embarrassingly) had a bit of a cry before the procedure but Dr. Lewis and the nurse were very kind and understanding and made sure I felt ok to proceed. Fantastic experience: AMAZING! - Attended a private dentist for the first time in my life today and what can I say, amazing! I’ve been struggling with my tooth for a while now and have been twice to a NHS dentist and they have tried to take it out but, due to pain, could not get the tooth out. I attended at Advance Dental Care today, they got me in for an emergency consultation at 14:35 with the amazing dentist Poppy and the team and had me back for 17:15 for the tooth to be removed! Amazing Service. The dentist Poppy’s skills were amazing! She made sure I was comfortable, made sure I knew what was going on and kept checking to make sure I was okay. Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this dental practice enough. The team there have literally changed my life. I had cosmetic dental work done after a lifetime of hiding my smile and feeling self conscious of how I looked. Now I cannot stop smiling! Fantastic experience: Life long fear of the dentist gone in 60mins! What a totally different experience from start to finish to previous dentists. I am now actually looking forward to my follow up treatments. My appointment was to assess a cracked tooth which needed swift action. The team got me in very quickly and expertly completed a tricky treatment with what can only be described as finesse. They took the time to find out what gave me anxiety about having treatment done and then assured me of the differences in the tools, steps and procedures that would reduce my anxiety and then they did what they said they would do checking all was ok throughout. Fantastic experience: After having difficulty getting an appointment with the NHS, I booked in at Advance Dental. The experience I have had has been fantastic. I ended up needing a wisdom tooth removal which was a little more complex than I had anticipated. Lewis really explained every step to me and talked me through it all to make sure I was feeling comfortable. I then took some time to consider if I wanted it doing and there was no pressure at all. Once I had it done, the staff followed up with a call to check I was ok. Even a few months after the procedure, I had a check up just to make sure everything was ok and all my questions were answered so well. Fantastic experience: I was new to the area and struggling to get an appointment anywhere. I came to Advance Dental Care after not seeing a dentist for a while and feeling a bit embarrassed! Fantastic experience: Month of Treatment - October Dr. Lewis Butler I have to be honest, I have heard horror stories about root canals gone wrong so when my tooth started hurting, i was quite apprehensive to get it checked. I did my research and read a lot of reviews and the reviews for Dr. Lewis Butler was very positive so I decided to book in with Advance Dental My first impression was very good. Starting from reception to the nurse and Doctor, they were very friendly and patient. Dr. Butler explained to me all the issues and how the treatment would go about and my options. I was booked in quickly for my appointment and I have to say the root canal was painless!!! I never expected it to be painless. The best part is I was back at work the same day. And even after the initial injections wore off, I had no pain at all. I didn't take any pain killers and I could eat normally and go about my things normally. PS - my tooth was also in a very awkward position, close to nerve. If anyone is hesitant or not sure about your treatment, I hope this review can alleviate some of your concerns. Fantastic experience: After moving to Wakefield I needed to find a dentist who could sort out ongoing problems with some old crowns that had come away. I had an initial evaluation appointment and was advised on the treatment needed and the costs involved. A month after agreeing to go ahead both crowns were refitted with zero issues, the service from front desk to the treatment was exceptional and my on going dental hygiene appointments have been incredibly useful and straight forward. Fantastic experience: I was recently seen by hygienist Sophie, and the experience was truly exceptional. Sophie's knowledge of dental care was great and she really took the time to explain the importance of proper cleaning methods. She guided me on how to effectively floss and correctly brush my teeth which was quite enlightening. :-) I've never encountered such a dedicated hygienist before, and in my opinion, the service she provided was absolutely fantastic. I also saw Dr. Lewis Butler in the event of emergency and for a general check up. I am an EXTREMELY nervous patient, and for that reason I'm so thankful that Dr. Butler's expertise made the tooth extraction process totally painless and dare I say, almost comfortable. His calming demeanour and clear communication helped with my anxiety. I'm grateful for the care he provided and would highly recommend him to anyone seeking a skilled and compassionate dentist.

Fantastic experience: I honestly cannot recommend Advance Dental Care highly enough. I must have been their most nervous patient ever, but from my first walk through that door I was put at ease by the friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. Not like a dental surgery at all. Yesterday I had five teeth including two wisdom teeth removed with the help of IV sedation. I can honestly say it was a doddle. Didn’t feel a thing and don’t remember hardly anything. Today I feel fine, nothing that can’t be remedied by a couple of painkillers. Fantastic experience: All staff are very efficient, friendly and polite.They fitted my emergency appointment in even though they were about to close the practice. Most of all the dentist repaired my tooth to allow me to go on holiday the following morning.
