Fantastic experience: I am not a frequent user of the dental practice as I have been very fortunate to have good teeth which don’t need much professional attention. I returned to the Catherine Street Dental Practice after several years for repair of a broken molar and loss of filling. The staff were friendly and efficient and the dental care is of the highest quality. Mr Newman and his dental nurse attended to me and the treatment was excellent, painless and undertaken with consideration and great efficiency. I recommend this Salisbury practice very highly.

The hygienist was very thorough and wanted to complete the clean in 1 visit to save me a second visit, which I appreciated. Positive experience: Mum cannot walk very far so we have to take her to the surgery in her wheelchair. The staff are very good but the access can be difficult - there is a chair lift so we do use that; it would be more useful if there were handrails along at least one of the side walls though!

Fantastic experience: I have recently had to have an infected tooth refilled, following anti biotics, which helped. The treatment involved two visits, but the whole process was painless and I have emerged with a rectified tooth that is no longer painful. I am very relieved to be pain free and thank you to Mr Newman for his handling of my problem, I would recommend him to anybody who needs reliable and caring treatment,

I had been treated by David previously so it was no surprise when having consulted him again I received a five star service during a small number of visits to the practice. i am now the owner of excellent new dentures. Fantastic experience: Incredibly kind staff and calming atmosphere... my partner and I hadn't been to a dentist in a few years due to a fear of them, so it was quite a jump for us to get booked in to be seen. We saw good reviews about Catherine Street Dental so we decided to go there, and we were not dissapointed! All the staff are very friendly and the dentist is very gentle alongside being very to-the-point about how your teeth are and what may need work, but always really lovely! We will definitely be visiting again.

Fantastic experience: As a patient for well over 20 years I would unreservedly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I have been with this dentist since 2018. My first impression was that they weren’t very friendly, but because I was new to them, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. But as time has gone on the friendliness just isn’t there. The treatment prices went up during Covid as there was an extra charge for PPE. Which was a ridiculous price of £35 on top of your treatment for example a composite filling cost £80 plus the £35 PPE costing you a total of £115. For a normal appointment there was a charge of £5 on top of your appointment charge of £35 costing you £40 in total. After dropping this charge for PPE the dental surgery decided to increased their prices instead, using the excuses that they haven’t raised their prices in 2 years. Now a composite filling costs £125 and a normal routine appointment costs £40. There is often no discussion about how much things will cost before your appointment or during the appointment, unless you (the patient) ask first and then you have to be very aware that there is no payment plan to help spread the cost unless it is over a certain amount roughly £500/£1000. You are treated like a cash machine and just another patient. I was recently treated for a composite filling, which was done by the same dentist in 2020, this fell out recently and I was charged £125 for a new composite filling and £40 for the check up. When I was asked how long do I expect fillings to last for, I said roughly 10 years, the dentist laughed at my response and said that you can’t guarantee how long fillings will last for. I am currently looking for another dentist to move myself, my husband, my daughter and my parents too. Even my parents have not been happy with this dentist for some time now and we will not be recommending them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Overall very happy, had my veneer on my front tooth replaced. The first veneer was not a good colour match, so a new one was ordered and has now been fitted. I did slightly wonder if it was slightly shorter than my other front tooth, but no-one appears to have noticed, so perhaps I’m mistaken. Very friendly helpful staff.

Negative experience: I was disappointed yesterday with the treatment because I attended for the third time to correct a molar which had lost a filling. When the filling fell out a few months ago, the dentist replaced it. This happened again last week. The tooth is still rough. I was also disappointed because I had told the receptionist when I booked the appointment that the filling needed replacement and she asked me if I wanted it done in this appointment - I said yes. From my entering the surgery at 4pm to my departure from the surgery after the refilling was just 9 minutes and received a bill for that of £60 which didn't please me. 1 because of the time taken and 2 because this was the third time treating the same problem.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist is, for some, almost as bad in thought as the dentist, but my experience here at the Dental Practice was far from that. Everything was gentle and not at all uncomfortable. An excellent job done with a friendly very pleasant hygienist.

I found the Covid restrictions and the PPE arrangements to be excellent and the Practice is to be commended for putting these in place. On this occasion I do not need any dental procedures but I am reassured by the procedures in place that I would not be at risk.

David explained how the treatment would progress, carefully worked through each stage and I now have a lovely set of teeth and a nice smile ... working my way up to trying a nice fillet steak!
