Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Dentessential for four years and have always had a positive experience. Dr Irem Aziz is a highly skilled and thoughtful dentist who spots potential problem areas early and gives clear, practical advice on prevention. It's obvious she genuinely cares about helping her patients look after their teeth rather than just maximising treatments. I had a particularly tricky filling that had come off and chipped several times in the past, but since Irem redid it, it has been completely problem-free. I also had a very hard-to-access area of decay which many dentists might have resorted to extracting, but Irem managed to save the tooth. The work was done so well that afterwards I completely forgot anything had even been done to it! The reception team are always friendly and helpful as well. I feel very lucky to have found such a great clinic and such a reliable dentist.

Fantastic experience: Gustavo is brilliant - I was so scared of having my teeth cleaned I didn’t go for years, but this time I almost enjoyed it! We also regularly see Hayder Ameer who’s fantastic and so good with kids too. Love the reception team as well. Couldn’t recommend this practice more!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been with the practice for 20years and would not dream of going anywhere else. The staff are courteous and professional, they remember you by the name. My hygienist Gustavo is an absolute perfectionist and the dentist Dr H Ameer is excellent. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Dentessentials for a long time and in that time I’ve been very happy with their treatment I’m not one for liking the dentist but at Dentessentials they make you feel at ease with their professional treatment I recently had a front implant pulled because of infection Irem Aziz my dentist advised me to remove the implant and wear a denture for 6 months so that it can heal and then have another implant fitted the denture fits perfectly and I am very happy that irem advised me to do this very happy customer

Negative experience: I’ve tried calling several times to book an appointment, but the phone line is consistently poor – the sound keeps cutting out and it’s very difficult to hear the person on the other end. It seems like their phone system is outdated or not maintained properly. This makes it very frustrating to get in touch, especially when you need to speak to someone urgently. Hope this gets addressed soon.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dentessentials for over 10 years. And even though I moved away from Shoreditch I still prefer coming back to Dentessentials rather than going to my local dentist or the ones closer to my work. They are far superior to any other dentists and hygienists! Best quality in everything they do! And the reception team is absolutely wonderful as well. We were in a pickle because our nanny had a really bad dental problem and I didn't know where to turn as after calling 20 clinics no one would accept her as a new patient and she was considering returning home to her home country. So I went to Brian, one of the reception team, for help in desperation. He found a solution for us on the spot!! I really appreciate your help and your compassion! We are extremely grateful. You guys are wonderful! Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: I first walked into Dentessentials on Curtain Road about twenty years ago and was immediately impressed by how nice it looks and feels. It is light, bright, airy and spotless and full of lovely people and very comfortable chairs. Since then i have never stopped thinking how lucky i have been to find a practice of this quality, because whether it is arranging an appointment, giving dental advice and treatment, or making you feel welcome and remembering who you are, the Dentessentials team are exemplary. I had always dreaded a visit to the dentist, but that became a thing of the past and it was a relief never to feel any pain or dread again. What an achievement to maintain this standard of excellence and like many others who have written reviews, i want to say thank you Dentessentials, you have earned your five starts and are very much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Very professional and actually care for patients. My dentist took her time to do a full dental assessment and reffered me promptly to an oral surgeon for a tooth extraction for a complicated tooth (which my previous NHS dentist in another clinic did not and left me in pain for months!). Fantastic experience: My daughter always asks me why her friends don't like going to the dentists while she loves her dentist so much. She even wishes to come here all the time Thank you, Irem and the team for the professional but still super child-friendly services that made her feel at home (or even better than home as she said ) As a mom, to be honest, I'm very pleased with the services that my daughter had. It's easy to book an appointment that suits your busy schedule. The staff is extremely kind and friendly. The practice is always clean and tidy. Last but not least, my daughter's dentist, Irem, is just more than amazing (I even ran out of words to praise her ). Not only my daughter, but I also feel very comfortable every time I come here too, feel like visiting an old friend who is kind, caring and patient instead of a dentist. Fantastic experience: Dr Aziz was absolutely brilliant. I was super nervous, but she really calmed my nerves, and relieved my stresses. We discussed my treatment. Much to my surprise, I didn’t even feel the numbing jab. She was very gentle. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I've been going to dentessentials for many years but after my dentist retired I was given Haydar who I'm not happy with at all. It's now been 3x that things have gone wrong or he's recommended me (expensive) treatments that other dentists disagree with so I need to find another dentist unfortunately. I'm disappointed as the team there are very nice.

Fantastic experience: Came as an NHS patient and was really lucky to have gotten an appointment 2 days after making the call. Dr Salim and the dental nurse were both very friendly, professional and put me at ease! Really grateful to have been treated here. Thank you! :)

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dentessentials for many years. The dentists and Sue the Hygienist are absolutely excellent. The reception staff are first class too. I've always been so happy with my treatment and just day to day check ups and hygienist care. I would 100% recommend them. They're great with my kids too, who really look forward to going to the dentist.

Negative experience: DO NOT COME HERE FOR NHS/ FILLING WORK. Paid £370 to get fillings done here in 2023 but will have to RE-DO them because they were done poorly and there's a cavity in between my tooth and the filling. Both my NHS checkup and the filling was done extremely hastily, the doctor felt like he was in a rush... I have seen multiple dentists afterward and all have told me the fillings were not done well and will need to be redone.

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal treatment with Dr Hayder Ameer in April 2024, I was extremely nervous about this treatment and I even suggested that I go to a root canal specialist, but he calmed my nerves and reassured me. He performed the treatment in one sitting which I found amazing, considering I was recovering from infection in the same area. He built the existing tooth with a white filling, that - for the first time in nearly a decade, I did not have to pick food from the gap after every single thing I ate. The following day, there was no pain. The infection passed and the tooth felt great. I know I`ll need it crowned, but I feel reassured to make my regular visits, knowing I`m in good hands. Unbeknown to Dr Hayder Ameer, he has really installed a trust and faith in me for my future treatments and I am less hesitate about sitting in the chair. I have been a patient of Dentessentials for over 20 years and I highly recommend him. He takes care of his patients, he is explains the treatment/plan thoroughly and his work is precise. Negative experience: My experience here wasn't great. Overall first impressions were bad. The place felt unclean and disorganised. The dentist was then running late. Once I was seen, the experience was uncomfortable compared to what I'm used to and I didn't feel that I was in safe hands. I wanted to get a filling on the NHS but was told that the NHS filling would be an old metal one because the NHS won't pay for modern fillings and I would need to pay private fees to get a proper one. So in the end it's not worth going to this dentist, it's a very poor experience compared to other private dentists and you can't get the right standard of treatment as an NHS patient.

Fantastic experience: Once again I have received the highest level of care from Dent Essentials. My dentist was highly professional and fully explained my procedure, which was pain free. An absolutely fantastic service, highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: Great dentist. Took me a couple weeks of phoning every day to get an appt as a new NHS patient, but when I did I was seen the next day and a filling was booked in for 2 weeks time! Reception was very helpful. Dentist and dental assistant were great. Would recommend highly.

Fantastic experience: I have recently had a molar composite filling from Dr Hayder Ameer and am very satisfied. I was very nervous about the procedure but he definitely calmed me down. Injections were not a problem at all and the procedure itself did not hurt. He gave some valuable advice afterwards which I will be taking. The filling itself resembles my natural teeth! Very happy :)

Fantastic experience: Been so nervous about the dentist since I was very young! I started coming here about 6 years ago and from the first visit I began to re-build my confidence. The patience and professionalism by the staff here is amazing. Everyone's been so considerate of my anxieties and coached me through them. Today I even had two injections for some fillings and have left feeling like I've got a superpower that I actually had it! (can confirm it literally does not hurt and feel a bit embarrassed by how much the fear of this has held me back all of these years!). The best place to go if you have anxieties or nerves visiting the dentist.

Fantastic experience: As someone who has a phobia about dentists, I am full of praise for dentist Irem Aziz and nurse Nadine. Irem is the first dentist who has actually given me a good experience in my 70 plus years! Sensitive, understanding and skilful, she explained exactly what she was going to do and reassured me. As a team Irem and Nadia seem to work seamlessly together and get full marks from me. The receptionists are also very helpful and I fully recommend Dentessentials.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending this dental practice for over 15 years when Nick Law was my dentist and the previous owner as I have been happy with the team ever since ie Brian Jennifer and Jackie but most importantly Sue I could not ask for a more professional hygienist who is the best at doing her job nothing but perfection from hers truly. He's done some major work on my teeth in the last few years, a crown, some veneers, even Botox in my jaw when I was grinding my teeth and getting migraines. He's kind, gentle and really good fun. Fantastic experience: Dr Haydee Ameer and nurse Natalie Smith, as well and Jackie and Jennie at reception, all do what it takes to help this nervous dental patient recover from a previously justified fear of dental work. They take care, clearly have high standards, and seem to be specially skilled on working with nervous patients. So much so that I’m not sure I can call myself a nervous patient for much longer.

Fantastic experience: My favourite hygienist!

Negative experience: I took an NHS appointment for a gum inflammation problem, the issue was solved and the dentist recommended me to take an appointment with the hygienist. The hygienist, instead of cleaning my teeth in one appointment she wanted me to make two appointments because she did not have the time (even though the Doctor received 10 min late and the appointment only was 20 min). One week later I started having a mouth ache AGAIN, I decided to visit another dentist and surprise... I had a molar cavity that the dentists at DENTESSENTIALS never told me. Long story short even that NHS appointments cover fillings they never let me know about my cavity and I had to pay double. Moreover, it seems as in dentessentials they recommend you to take as many appointments not covered by the NHS as possible to engross their profits.

Fantastic experience: I feel really lucky to have found this dentist. I was looking for a new NHS dentist, having moved too far away from my previous one, and was, of course, really struggling to find one taking on new patients. My partner and his sister recommended Dentessentials, so I gave it a go - thinking I would probably be turned away or asked to come as a private patient. Fortunately, I was wrong! I rang up as got an appointment the very next week for both me and my baby. Since the initial check-up, I've been back to see the hygienist and also for a couple of fillings and I am really impressed with the treatment I have received. My dentist, Irim, is incredibly friendly and puts her patients completely at ease. The receptionist staff are also really professional and helpful, and were incredibly patient when I had to move a couple of appointments. All in all, I would highly recommend Dentessentials and I hope I won't have to change dentists again!

Negative experience: As an NHS patient the treatment was cheap and rushed. Also, they would try to offer you the non-free options.. very annoying

Negative experience: Update: I've seen several similar responses to reviews and although I'm impressed they always have stats on had, after speaking with them I take this with a large grain of salt. They also mentioned taking on 30 new NHS patients a week, I called as they opened on the 1st day of the week... No space. Let alone rejecting root canal patients outright. Sadly, the well crafted response holds no more water for me. *** Having read several of the reviews, I was willing to give this place the benefit of the doubt and looked to register as a new NHS patient. The receptionist has just confirmed that they do accept new patients now and again and advised me to call back next Monday. However, when I explained I needed the 2nd step to complete an emergency root canal she explained they are not accepting NHS patients for that procedure. I would be shocked if you were able to choose patents based on their needs. Her recommendation... ... come as a private patient. I would add that she was well versed in explaining that they leave the NHS listing as 'Accepting New Patients' as they take them on when they can. She new what I was going to ask before I finished my question. Obviously, this is not how the NHS system is intended to be used.

Negative experience: Worst experience! After explaining on the phone that I’m on benefits and if they are excepting nhs patients, which they said yes I visited the shop where receptionist was lovely but the dentist wanted to charge me £350 for removal of tooth and on the website that’s not the price!! The only price of £350 of the website was for teeth whitening which I didn’t want. From what I could see it was £65 for tooth removal!!!! ALTMORE DENTIST ISLE OF DOGS best dentist I needs yous back!

Fantastic experience: Love the receptionist. They are so British. I love my dentist and I now live 4 hours away and come just for him. I don’t feel like Salim is trying to sell me something I don’t need or push treatments like other dentists.

Fantastic experience: I called Dentessentials with severe tooth pain. The staff on reception were personable, efficient and made me feel like they had time for me. Visiting the practice for my appointment, I was impressed again with the front of house team. The dentist was also very attentive and thorough and walked me through all of the options before deciding on a course of action. I would definitely recommend this practice. They genuinely seem to want to help and they make you (the patient) feel comfortable, valued and listened to.

Fantastic experience: I have always experienced a great service at Dentessentials. Dr Hayder Ameer takes a lot of care to work with his patients, speaking through treatment options and conducting his dentistry with precision. The Reception team has also been excellent, helping me when securing an emergency appointment and being courteous and helpful throughout.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Dentessential for about 4 years and have really enjoyed the experience and care I have recieved. I have always ground my teeth which had led to them being very worn and contined problems. I had never been offered a detailed plan in the past by my previous NHS dentist on how to get on top of the situation and protect my teeth. Dr Hayder Ameer provided a detailed plan to deal with all the resulting issues that have presented due to grinding my teeth. The plan was clearly explained and then the dental work was executed with a lot of skill, care and attention. The final stage of the plan resulted in composite bonding to build up my back teeth increasing my bite and allowing for composite bonds to my front top teeth. I am really pleased with the results, it has given me more confidence and I now smile a lot more. I would highly recommend the practice and the service and care they provide. Thanks Harry Stevens

Fantastic experience: I joined Dentessentials about 6 months ago. I am a self-confessed baby at the dentists, after having dodgy treatment and subsequent agony as a child/ teenager. Dr Hayder Ameer, is brilliant, not only is he friendly, calming and patient... he's also an absolute dental pro! I just had a second filling with him today and just like the first, it was entirely pain free (even now after the drugs have worn off). If you're not a fan of the dentist, or just want excellent service, I couldn't recommend the team at Dentessentials more highly!!

Fantastic experience: Having had a bad time at a dentist in Covent Garden several years ago I was reluctant to go back to a dentist. However Dentessential, Curtain Rd, EC2 changed all that. I have never experienced such wonderful treatment before. From the moment you step inside the door to the moment you leave its all fantastic. Fantastic experience: Really like the Dentessentials team, they have been my dentists for some years and now my mum (who is 70) also goes there too. Front desk are great, they are very helpful and they have been super with fitting my mum in. This place has good energy and professionalism. Great to have you guys in Shoreditch! Negative experience: I've been with Dentessentials for years, After having seen the same dentist at the practice during that time I was happy with the work. But during the pandemic I was assigned a new dentist who I visited in 2021 and I have not been happy with the service since. I went to see him 2021 about sensitivity I was having in a tooth with a crown and he sent me away without any treatment telling me to brush around the tooth harder telling me it's probably to do with my gums. The sensitivity has been on and off since. Over Easter this year I started getting pain in the tooth. My dentist was on holiday so I visited another dentist who gave me antibiotics, told me I needed to wait until my dentist was back and was sent away. 2 days later my face/neck had swollen like a tennis ball, my jaw was locked semi closed and the pain was horrendous. I visited A&E and an emergency dentist over the coming days and was told the original antibiotics given wouldn't have worked on that infection. Finally got to see my dentist, he did X-rays and told me I needed root canal through the crown. I asked if I could just have the tooth taken out as it didn't seem right, he told me they wouldn't take out a healthy tooth with a good crown - the treatment for the root canal would be specialist and around £800. I went to get a second opinion at a different dentist recommended to me and yesterday the dentist showed me my Xray, showed me a huge, very visable shadow in the tooth (not root) which showed decay under the crown. He took part of the crown off to check the damage and discovered my tooth had rotten in part. There was no way of saving it and he took the tooth out there and then saying I needed to get the infection out ASAP. This full treatment, including need X-rays, teeth impressions etc was £480. AND he explained everything to me along the way so I fully understood why my jaw had locked and how my face had swollen to the extent it had. After the service I received, I'm never going back to Dentissentials. My tooth should have been sorted a year ago when I first went about it.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist around! Always very friendly and accommodating. The front of desk staff are great, and I always feel like the Dr is very clear and helpful.

Negative experience: Even though this organisation says clearly on the NHS website that it is accepting new patients, it apparently isn't. What a joke that they can't even keep the information up to date and what a waste of time trying to find an NHS dentist!!!

Fantastic experience: Have had many good experiences here. Today I was very impressed with how my two year old was engaged in a fun way for his first visit to the dentist. It went from screaming he wanted to leave to laughing and having fun within one minute. Thanks

Fantastic experience: I love Dentessentials and have been a happy customer for years. I’ve had checkups and treatment from Dr Henry and Dr Hayder and the hygienist and all of them are professional, friendly and fantastic. The team on reception are wonderful too and are always very patient and helpful when I call up and try and book complicated family appointments. A very welcoming, friendly and reliable dental surgery. Thank you for looking after me so well!
