Fantastic experience: What a brilliant company!. First class service and advice. I am currently undergoing active chemotherapy and, upon turning up at the practice today, I was advised against having any dental cleaning work due to the possibility of bleeding gums for a day or so and the possible chance of infection due to a seriously suppressed immune system. Not willing to take the risk, I rescheduled the appointment...free of charge. I couldn't ask for a more positive approach to my well-being. Well done Winchester...I strongly recommend this outfit.

On arrival the receptionists were super helpful and explained everything, I filled out some forms and was seen promptly by the clinician. Negative experience: Over-booked, greedy, unprofessional. Scheduled a new patient & hygiene appt. in April for August. I had to postpone but they could not offer me another dual appt. (having tested + for COVID). They refused to refund the payment they demanded in April, when I had to see another dentist to avoid two 30-mile round trips. They HAVE offered to issue a credit "to my husband". How sweet. Avoid unless you wish to be both fleeced and patronized.

Fantastic experience: After not having a checkup for over 5 years, Zarah took the time to examine my teeth and come up with a comprehensive treatment plan to fix any issues I have. She was articulate and made sure I understood any issues I had. Following this, I had a large filling completed, which was larger than first anticipated. Zarah took the time to keep me updated during the procedure and inform me about what she was doing at that time. The filling looks amazing and you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference from a normal tooth in aesthetic. I would highly recommend this practice. The reception staff are lovely and outgoing, and having dealt with Zarah, I would come back for all treatments. Thanks again!

Negative experience: This star rating is for my experience today. Not happy with the out come, came out still in pain. Dentist a was at 11.05, she came in through door at 11.07 then didn't call me in till 11.25 then told me she didn't have time to do what I needed doing. My usual star would be a 5. But not today!

The lady on reception took the time to understand my situation, and within 10 minutes I had an appointment later that day. Fantastic experience: I visited yesterday (31/7/25) I saw Adam for my checkup first. Adam is exceptionally good as a dentist and putting patients at their ease. I have had 2 dental implants which Adam implanted and I must say were painless! The end result has made me more than happy. I would recommend Adam without hesitation. A professional empathetic brilliant dentist who explains everything and cares about his patients. My second appointment was with Greg who is a dental hygienist. Greg is a brilliant hygienist, you never feel rushed and who explains everything. He cares about his patients and is always kind. His technique is thorough but gentle. I would have no hesitation in recommending Winchester House. The ladies on reception are the best! Kind and patient! Really lovely. I'd give Ten stars if possible!

Fantastic experience: I hadn’t been to the dentist in a good while due to a combination of dental phobia and past negative experiences. That all changed in July 2024, when I found the courage to visit Winchester House. Fast forward 12 months, and I’ve just had my regular hygienist appointment with Greg. Hearing him say, “You’re doing a great job, your teeth look good,” meant more to me than I can express. It was such a huge moment of reassurance and progress. A massive thank you to Zarah, my dentist, who has been incredibly kind, patient, and supportive throughout. She made me feel genuinely comfortable and reassured during every visit. Greg, the hygienist, has also been brilliant — honest, encouraging, and always supportive, which made a world of difference for someone like me. I never thought I’d be in the position I am now — just coming in for regular check-ups and hygiene visits. It feels amazing. The whole team, including the lovely receptionists, have been consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful. It truly is a fab dental practice, and I’m so grateful to have found them.

Fantastic experience: Excellent from First contact to final appointment. Visited due to having severe tooth ache, They booked me an appointment for lunch time the same day for a consultation, and extracted the teeth causing the problem at the same time. Happy with the outcoeme. A little expensive (aren't all private Dentists) but to eleviate the pain I was suffering happy to pay. If you need something sorted quickly by a courteous and friendly proffesional fully recommended.

Fantastic experience: Each time I visit Winchester House Dental I always have a pleasant, friendly welcome. I rarely have to wait very long. Callum Dunkley, my dentist, is very professional, knowledgeable and the most gentle ever! I am very pleased that he is much younger than I and therefore not likely to retire just yet. I sincerely hope he never has to leave the practice. The dental nurses are great and very helpful and patient. I am disabled and slow getting up the stairs. Today I also had a hygienist appointment. A very friendly, professional and thorough gentleman, whose name just escapes my memory, sorry. I do already recommend the practice to family and friends. My only grouse is lack of available parking. Because of roadworks in the railway station area the problem has been made even worse. Not the fault of the practice but it would put some people off trying out the practice. Being disabled it is an issue for me. But I will stay with them despite the awful parking. Well done!

Fantastic experience: With my regular dentist, Dr Joy, on leave, I was booked in to see Dr Dunkley for emergency treatment for a sudden tooth pain. Dr Dunkley's care was top notch - sympathetic, gentle and thorough, and the bill was very reasonable. Dr Dunkley booked me in for a follow-up check by Dr Joy, whose treatment was, as always, impressively thorough, and very reassuring. My wife and I have been patients at this practice for many years, and have always been impressed with the professionalism of the entire team. All the staff are pleasant, courteous and helpful and I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Joy and his colleagues to anyone looking for the best in dental care.

Negative experience: Wasn't very impressed with this practice. They're good at taking your money but after repeated visits without a single procedure undertaken, I moved on to another practice which has yielded better results.

Fantastic experience: The second time in 2 weeks, I had to call Winchester House Dental Practice due to an emergency. Both times, they were so accommodating and offered me an appointment the same day. Each time, I was really well looked after by Callum who made me feel relaxed whilst sorting out my problems. I am a very nervous patient but now, because of his expertise and his gentle approach, I am starting to even look forward to my visits :) Now that's saying something.

Fantastic experience: Until I moved to Shrewsbury, I had always used NHS dentists. I was proud of my teeth and my annual 10-minute check-up usually ended with being told everything looked great—see you in 12 months. It was affordable (under £100 per year), but looking back, it wasn’t very thorough. Since joining Winchester Dental Practice on their subscription model, my experience of dental care has completely changed. I now have two hygienist appointments and two dentist appointments per year, and they’re far more detailed than anything I had on the NHS. Embarrassingly, I didn't even know what a hygienist did before joining! Now I understand they play a vital role in dental health—possibly even more than the dentist in some respects. My hygienist introduced me to interdental brushing (which I try to do 2–3 times a week, though I should be doing it daily!). At my first visit, my gums bled heavily and I was told I had around 50% bleeding due to gum disease—something I had no idea I had. That’s now down to just 5%, thanks to the hygienist's care and advice. The dentist also treated sensitivity in my front teeth caused by erosion at the gum line—something that had bothered me for a long time. The discomfort is now gone. I also had a broken back tooth from a botched NHS filling. Winchester corrected this with a dental overlay. It was a significant cost, but the difference in comfort and quality is huge and absolutely worth it. If you’re after the cheapest option, stick with the NHS. But if you want truly professional, preventative care that looks after your teeth properly, my experience shows that private care—at least at Winchester—is far superior. I’m very happy with the service and consider it money well spent.

After some bad experiences and not visiting a dentist for a number of years, my teeth weren’t in a great way… Adam and the team have been incredible with me right from the start of my journey with them. Friendly and helpful front of house and professional yet personal treatment have made every visit a pleasure. Adam helped me to eat properly again. Dental implant surgery went perfectly and better than could have been imagined. Adam really went the extra with out of hours check in phone calls after surgery. I couldn’t have asked for more.. The hygienist visits have all been excellent and my mouth hasn’t been this healthy for decades. I’ve now started my daughter at the practise and she had her first visit recently.. She felt comfortable and happy with the guys.. Worth it..
