Fantastic experience: The team at the Smilepod clinic is Soho, Dr Ana Maria Mackinnon, Dr Stevie Nkansah, Uli Nascimento and Tiger Spencer all contributed hugely to not only giving me a smile I'm finally happy to share but also helped with massive nervousness on dentists visits. From chats with Tiger as I waited, to Dr Ana explaining my options, to Uli being as gentle as she could with my neglected teeth to Dr Stevie giving me a brand new smile. I cannot recommend this team more, truly outstanding service!!!!!

Negative experience: Im having a surgeon taking a wisdom tooth and I wasn’t explained what the procedures are … I had to go and read what is the process and what will happen after for the healing process … I know it’s normal for you but patients that pay all this money should be briefed

Over the course of my treatment, Dr Stephen has not only significantly improved the health of my teeth but also the appearance of my smile. He is an incredibly skilled professional and very patient. During my Invisalign treatment, I had a special request to remove my attachments for an upcoming event. Negative experience: I went for my appointment and only when I arrived, they told me the doctor is not there and i wouldn’t be able to get the treatment. No apology was given and the best option she could give me was for me to go to another branch… Don’t recommend this place at all.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough of Smilepod Soho. I went for cleaning and polish by Michaela. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist was extremely warm and friendly and welcoming. Michaela cleaned my teeth, and whilst they are not in the best shape, she was non judgemental, and probably one of the loveliest dentists I’ve ever had in my life. I’m so glad I took the first step to get my teeth fixed. I have already booked my follow-up appointment for next time. What an amazing place.

Fantastic experience: I'm usually a little anxious about dental visits but soon relax when I arrive at Smilepod Soho. Diana at Reception is very welcoming and by the time we have exchanged a few pleasantries Katalin, my Hygienist, is there to greet me. Kati has been my hygienist for several years now and I feel comfortable in her very capable hands. She is efficient and gentle using a combination of ultrasonic and manual where required. I leave feeling reassured that I have had a thorough scale and polish and have been seen by a conscientious and professional practitioner. Katie also gives me important advice regarding my dental hygiene i.e. where I need to do a bit more work/cleaning etc - which I really appreciate.

Fantastic experience: I had amalgam veneers installed rather than ceramic, which I understand is much harder to do right because each veneer is made by the dentist on-the-fly. The procedure is cheaper than ceramic and causes much less harm to the teeth. Dr Carine Borges did the work and the results are basically perfect. She is a dental artist, is a very impressive person generally, and is a credit to Smilepod, which has never failed me yet!

Fantastic experience: I came into smile pod soho to clean my teeth not only did I have the most welcoming reception talk to me about the different treatments but I had a lovely hygienist called Rayna that worked on me she was very careful and comforting as I was nervous but she did such a fantastic job on my teeth I brought my mum back the very next day to have the same treatment done of which Rayna did not disappoint! Fantastic experience: Needed a teeth cleaning and was not sure about about going to the dentist in London (always did it in France so far). I have to admit it is the best cleaning I ever had! Rayna was very kind and professional. She applied a numbing gel which made it really pain free, removed all the tartar and polished my teeth. Total cleaning took 1h15. It is a pricy service, but I was very happy about it!

Negative experience: The staff here are lovely and I’ve been coming for years but I paid £129 for a deep clean and they left all the tartar on the back of my teeth! Perhaps I didn’t choose the right treatment or they couldn’t use all of the normal equipment during Covid but I’ve had to book another treatment to get the plaque removed. I used to get the high gloss diamond polish and my teeth used to be sparkling, so I know it doesn’t normally look like that - no hate, guys :)

I’ve had multiple dentists look after me for various reasons and they’ve always been great. Most recently I’ve had fillings done by Dr Stephen Nkansah and I’m pleased with the results. Dr Stephen and his assistant are very friendly and know how to put a patient at ease. I’m experiencing anxiety at the doctors and they’ve been very gentle and considerate with me when I told them. He was very thorough and explained each step to me (I saw him for a checkup and two fillings), he made sure I was comfortable and I appreciate him taking the time to discuss the current state of my teeth and looking at the pictures/x-rays he took together. I thought the questionnaire he sent beforehand was also very helpful as as soon as my appointment started he already knew my concerns and details that I wouldn't think to mention otherwise. Fantastic experience: My dentist for Invisalign , whitening and bonding was Dr Stephen. His dental nurse Victoria is also lovely! Stephen is very good at what he does. I am very particular and a bit of a perfectionist and always noticed the smallest of details. He was able to deal with me well and listened to any concerns I had. It was also the 1st time I ever had an injection. He made me feel at ease and it wasn't that scary after all. I am very pleased with the end result the before and after was so different. I liked the fact everyone at Smilepod is so friendly too .

Fantastic experience: I underwent Invisalign to straighten my teeth with Dr Nkansah at Smilepod. I can’t recommend Smilepod and Dr Nkansah enough. The service from start to finish has been excellent. All staff are friendly, helpful and understanding, as well as knowledgeable and able to provide sound advice. It was easy to book appointments, and availability was always good. I have been very impressed by the results of Invisalign – after hating my teeth for years I am finally happy to smile. The aligners take some getting used to, but you quickly get into a comfortable routine. Top marks all round.

Fantastic experience: I’ve just moved to London and thought it was time to get my teeth checked. I saw Dr Stephen Nkansah and I have to say it was the best checkup I’ve ever had. He is so easygoing and humble and explained some treatments I am interested in really well. I was so at ease. What can I say: Friendly and Professional!

Negative experience: I had a diamond polish treatment for teeth on Soho branch last week everything turned wrong and I am still feel unhappy my gum bleeding etc etc Dentist who did it was clearly not interested about this treatment may be she had a bad day... I wasn't asked about the state of my teeth or sensitivity. I mentioned that I got a particularly sensitive tooth, but doctor wasn't interested in what I had to say and proceeded with the treatment. She prodded the gum and it caused a painful shock so when I cowered in pain and mentioned about trying not to touch that area - she reminded me to "say please" . I feel this is incredibly unprofessional and utterly patronising, esp. Since I visited this place based on recommendation. Afterwards doctor wasn't interested in delivering a friendly service and rushed through the treatment which at this point is not worth the 89£ whatsoever. I wasn't even shown the result, the rest of the treatment was done in silence, none of the steps were described to me , heaven only knows if I even had it completed. I would never return and definitely would not recomend this place to anybody

The ambience of the practice was very calm instantly putting me at ease, allowing me to notice how refreshing it was to be in a modern dental practice. I've had a number of appointments & treatments with Dr Stephen Nkansah over the past few years. Fantastic experience: I had a couple of appointments at Smilepod in Soho with Dr. Stephen Nkansah in May of this year - for a general check-up and teeth whitening. I hadn't been to the dentist for a few years (and had never had whitening) so was naturally apprehensive but he and his assistants made me feel at ease throughout. Dr. Nkansah was able to fit me in at relatively short notice; in the first appointment he took a mould of my teeth and then a week later I returned to receive the actual kit used for whitening. He gave me very clear instructions on how to apply the whitening gel each day, and within 2 weeks of using it I was very happy with the results. Both appointments lasted under half an hour and the whole process was seamless overall. Would highly recommend both Smilepod and Dr. Nkansah and will definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: I had my Invisalign treatment done at Smilepod’s Soho branch over the last 8 months. The treatment itself was fantastic, much quicker than I anticipated to correct the teeth I was most unhappy with. It is straightforward and painless (just the occasional tightness when you first put in new aligners). Some dedication is required in regularly brushing the aligners and your own teeth, taking care with what you eat/drink, and you will be required to visit the dentist fairly regularly so for those with non flexible working hours best to let your employee know in advance. The team at Smilepod were also amazing through the whole treatment. Dr Stephen, Victoria and Diana were always friendly, attentive and accommodating. The process is clearly explained at each stage and you are made to feel comfortable always although none of the procedures feel invasive or scary. It is absolutely worthwhile, I can now smile confidently and am comfortable having my photo taken where before I could only be photograhed from my ‘good side’. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Gino Castro is an excellent dentist. I have had a lot of restorative work conpleted and it has all been done professionally and pain free. I would highly recommend, worth every penny paid. :-).

Negative experience: Receptionist didn't answer the phone all morning and behaved as if didn't need to, once questioned about it on arrival. No text message or email sent confirming the appointment. The washroom facilities were unavailable as out of order. The basin for mouth rinse was a small hand held device that didn't do the job properly. Overall not a good experience and I will not be returning.

Negative experience: I felt really messed around regarding a root canal. The dentist told me I might need one and to come back in 3 weeks. I went back and she said I needed to wait longer, AFTER she had injected my mouth! I said it was a waste of my time and I was already numb so to please check and after having a temnporary filling drilled for the second time she said I probably would need one. Nothing seems to work well in the surgery. It always felt like Faulty Towers with nurses running in and out trying to get the computers working and find equiptment which isn't relaxing when you are laying with your mouth open! In the end I decided I couldn't go back again and go through more unclear information, money and stress so went to the Covent Garden dental practice where they gave me my root canal there and then that day in an incredibly professional, fast, kind and reassuring manner. For a fraction of the price! Take your money elsewhere.

Negative experience: Torture. Unable to eat hard foods for 6 months after a simple clean and I had good teeth before! He filed my teeth down painfully, so they look like I ground them myself, chipped and crazed them by applying pressure, misshaped them so there are now large gaps between them, food catches where it never did, sensitivity is a problem now. I have had repeated toothache since suggesting the tiny holes I felt him drill have remained unfilled. In every location he shoved his finger, including down my throat, having asked me about STDs (I had no reason to suspect exposure to HPV as I told him) small bumps have appeared consistent with HPV- none of which were there before this appointment and they took some time to become visible. HPV is linked to and possibly a prerequisite for mouth cancer and the private specialist I have had to see as a result recommends surgery to remove them, which carries the risk of damage to the throats and vocal chords. The enamel was apparently affected and required remedial treatment according to another dentist. 3 dentists were unable to examine my teeth throughly enough afterwards to determine the damage done because my mouth had been left too painful to allow them to do so. My teeth no longer look as they did. Update: SmilePod seem to be confused- I emailed and called repeatedly with no satisfactory response from them. If it were possible to give less than a single star, I would have done. I also contacted the Dental Complaints Service and the General Dental Council. An irresponsible, unprofessional and frankly destructive company: avoid unless you want your teeth and Health destroyed.

Negative experience: Very good service but after sending an e-mail with my problem and talking to reception over the phone to explain them I was booked for an appointment with the dentist instead of the orthodontist and she couldn't help me with that I was asked to pay full price for the consultation and I deposit for the second one with the correct doctor. 2 consultations and 2 payments after explaining my problem over the phone and by e-mail. I paid without complain because the attention was good by the Dentist and she was honest that she couldn't help with that but after I arrived home I realize that paying for 2 consultations when I did my best to explain my problem it wasn't the right think.

Fantastic experience: Really nice experience, they treat you really well even if you are a new patient and you are not spending an incredible amount of money. I did the normal cleaning and hygiene, the doctor was clean, quick, precise and explaining me what she was doing. She provided me good advises on how to keep my mouth and teeth healthy. Strongly recommended.

Negative experience: I wanted to treat myself to a High Class Diamond Polish Hygiene treatment which I had done several times elsewhere. Most of the time was spent descaling my teeth which required minimal work because my dentist does this every 6 months for £20.60 as part of my check-up. The so- called Air Flow polish was greatly inferior than anything I had done before and whereas I normally get my face covered with the powder which invariably splashes everywhere. On this occasion it was so "watered down" that I could hardly taste the stuff. The employees were nice enough but this was a total waste of money. I paid £75 for the treatment. A total rip off!!!
