You are always warmly greeted by receptionist Michelle and everything is so professional. I initially had a quote for Invisalign and composites with Dr Afzal but more importantly he drew attention to the fact my gum health needed addressing before we commenced treatment. After seeing a periodontist I returned and recommenced my journey and my end result has blown me away. I have been given my smile and confidence back . More importantly I have had oral health behaviours instilled in me now and I look after my teeth so much better. I would recommend this practice and Dr Afzal to anyone. He is straight up and realistic about what can and can’t be achieved, and his work speaks for itself. I know that I personally just can’t stop smiling now! **EDIT** In addition to the outstanding aesthetic dentistry they have brilliant hygienists who help with maintenance for your new smile, I highly recommend Chloe who really looked after me, lessened my anxiety and really took her time with explaining what she was doing and giving me great advice on keeping my gum health at optimum. She made me feel so at ease and I am looking forward to our next appointment!

Negative experience: Had someone asked me a few weeks ago on my opinion of this practice, I would have given 5 stars and said brilliant. I saw the bad reviews about the Omair Fazhal before visiting this practice and had reservations but as he had been recommended to me by another dental practice who didn’t offer the service I was looking into, I decided to find out for myself. Initial consultation and for the duration of my treatment (braces) he was fine. Straight talking but not unpleasant but serious and to the point. Although I could see the arrogance within him and potential for being condescending, I didn’t experience it directly so to say. One thing I have to say is that Michelle on reception has always been professional but friendly and kind to me. Chatting, showing an interest and listening to me whilst trying to make decisions. She doesn’t belong there as she is personable and the dentist clearly lacks this skill. Anyway, fast forward to my braces being taken off and after a few refinement trays, one tooth still stood (stands!) out as being slightly set back from the rest of my teeth. I raised this a couple of times and he said that from an underneath view of the back of my teeth, they’re all aligned. True but not helpful to the front which is what myself and other people see. So I booked in for my cosmetic bonding and decided to email him to double check that there was no further course of treatment I could undergo to correct this one tooth before going ahead with the bonding. This is where my experience of this place completely changed. His reply said that he has reservations about doing the bonding for me because we’d already discussed this tooth a couple of times and that he’d get the receptionist to call me to refund me because it’s in both of our best interests. That he’d recommend elsewhere for me as he can’t meet my expectations and that I still needed my retainer fitted but it makes sense to have it done somewhere else with the bonding. I replied expressing that I had not questioned his professional judgement but just wanted to know I’d clarified if there was anything different I could do. I asked if I was being told not to come back there or if it was advise and he sent a load of rubbish about losing confidence in his ability to meet my expectations, then the next day I had a phone call to provide my refund. I cannot believe that someone can behave in this way over being asked if there was anything different I could look into having done. He got his back up immediately and basically banned me from his practice. Now after reading the other negative reviews, I see that this is a common trend. So, if you’re prepared to go there and not know which of your words may send him into defensive, rude and dismissive mode meaning you’re left with incomplete treatment, go ahead. I hope your ‘complaints manager’ (he, himself) doesn’t even bother to respond to my review with any more dismissiveness. You know what you did and I know the people that work with you see it. I hope you don’t treat them with your arrogance.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Sutton Aesthetic Dentistry. Dr Omair Afzal was great, he explained every part of the process from consultation through to the composite appointment in great detail and put me at total ease. Negative experience: I had Invisalign aligners with Dr Afzal, I was advised there was minimal movement and I needed 14 trays, after the 14 trays I was unhappy and advised that only bonding could correct this, I continuously mentioned I dislike the fake teeth look and the edge bonding I received was almost covering all the teeth it was applied to, I was extremely unhappy with this and had it removed. This was pushed on me to get the desired look and the price was ridiculous ontop and I was not offered any refund for the work that I was unhappy with. I was not provided with vivara retainers which come with Invisalign I was given a cheap alternative which was loose, I had to question this multiple times before finally getting an agreement of Invisalign a poor excuse of the trays not being made in time was given. however all other Invisalign providers advised they trays are cut to fit teeth with bonding. Dr Afzal made me feel that uncomfortable I was terrified to come back to the dentist and was in tears multiply times after seeing him. In the end i had to request a different dentist, which was Laura from the practice she had been incredible and can not fault, I have had more aligners to correct the issue I had at the end of the first set proving I did not need the bonding. I have finally had the final set of tray and I am waiting for my vivara retainers I would not use Dr Afzal for any dental treatments .

Negative experience: This company is not recommended. The other negative reviews are a true reflection of my experience also. The receptionist - Michelle, was truly hostile and unfriendly. Dr Afzal was overbearing, patronising and incredibly rude during consultation. The composite bonding treatment involved excessive procedures and the price was over-inflated. We declined the treatment offered and having gone elsewhere, we experienced a positive service from start to finish. I cannot stress the importance of shopping around in this instance!

At every step he explained the process and answered all my questions, response time on email was very fat and literally within 24 hours. Fantastic experience: I visited for 6x porcelain veneers. Dr Afzhal was meticulous in ensuring I got exactly what I wanted and needed when it came to my smile design, whitening, budget and my dental health. I was made to feel comfortable throughout all of my treatments, little to no pain/discomfort, all of the staff were highly professional - and the TV on the ceiling was a nice touch too. Although I had some issues with my temporary veneers (my fault), the practice were able to fit me in at short notice repeatedly to fix breakages without charge and never made me feel like it was an inconvenience. I now have the natural smile of my dreams, couldn't be happier with how my veneers turned out, I have no doubt it will do wonders for my confidence.

Fantastic experience: This is more than just a 5* review it’s a huge thank you for the care you’ve given me. My smile makeover was definitely not the easiest as the crowding I has was more than a regular case. At the beginning I snapped off brackets left right and centre, snapped wires etc. but the patience I was presented with was incredible. The team are really good at what they do and don’t worry if you have any questions as Michelle will answer anything in such detail. I chose this practice back in 2021 for its reviews after so many consultations around Birmingham and let me tell you it’s the best decision I made in my entire life, it was a lengthy process but worth every minute and penny. Thank you again Dr Omair, your hands work magic! I hope you take much pride in your work because it really is incredible.

Negative experience: Edit ** the treatment was not over 7 years ago. I was highlighting that I am disappointed with your attitude , your response has completely missed the point . Going forward I hope that you take the time to reflect on demeanour I don’t like to leave negative reviews but I feel deeply annoyed and frustrated following my appointment with DR Afzul. I had contacted the practice and shared concerns about my teeth being misaligned- I have had previous treatment with this dentist and was satisfied with my treatment at the time. However , in 2020 my bracket had broken and I was advised that I didn’t need any treatment. Trusting in his expertise I decided to leave it. Over time , my tooth has become slightly misaligned , and highlighted a bigger problem an overbite and slanted front teeth. I contacted the practice last week to inform of my concerns . I wasn’t expecting anything but possible solutions to the problem. However, Dr Afzul was stand offish from the minute I entered the room . I tried to explain my problem but this was met with defensiveness and if I’m honest complete and utter rudeness . If I recall , he said - ‘you’re asking to move the goal past . It’s like asking for taxi Birmingham and then changing it to London’ ( very unnecessary) All I wanted was support and understanding for my concerns. He left the room mid consultation and on return ,continued to accuse me of moving the goal post and that the concerns I had were not highlighted as part of my initial treatment plan. I explained that given I was not the expert I would not of known this was a problem and that would have been his responsibility to highlight. He eventually offered advice and then told me to get a second opinion . I wouldn’t mind if this were free treatment, but if I’m paying for a service I have every right to raise a concern. As someone working with the general public . I am hoping this is not his communication style because I left feeling deflated and invalidated I am sharing this in hope that Dr Afzul will take time to reflect on his professionalism, because this unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: I went to Dr Afzal for a total smile transformation and I can honestly say from start to finish the service and care I received was second to none. I had tooth extraction, fixed metal braces, whitening and composite bonding. The whole process was explained in detail at every step. Dr Afzal was not only very respectful to me he was also very kind to his dental nurse which was nice to hear. She was also very caring to me throughout the process. Negative experience: The receptionist was really snotty with me on the phone. I explained that I was meant to book at Mere Green Dental, but their website sent me to this page without stating that it was at a completely different address and with a different company. Therefore, I could not get to this appointment. The receptionist stated that I could not get a refund or reschedule my appointment and asked if that was okay? Not that I have a choice... Therefore, I have wasted £44 to get nothing but a bad mood. Thank you for your great work.

Negative experience: Went to this dentist last year, as I had a dead front tooth. The dentist said they only treatment was a veneer. When I said I didn’t want that he was very dismissive. I went to another dentist who has whitened my tooth, I am very happy with the result for a fraction of the cost. Make sure you go for a second opinion if your not happy with the treatment offered.

Fantastic experience: All the staff at Sutton Aesthetics were so accommodating and professional. The whole process was so smooth from start to finish. I had my first consultation in October and had my new smile by December! At my original consultation I was slightly apprehensive about getting cosmetic work done but the explanation of how the aesthetic work is carried out made me feel really comfortable. Negative experience: Around 18 months ago I got my brace removed and the results was perfect. It is advised to wear your retainer 24/7 for 6 months and then just at night permanently. (Which I did) Obviously the retainers are plastic and will not last forever so it was not long before I ordered 2 more sets. The first 2 sets was fine but the 3rd set I felt was just ill fitting, there is a sizeable gap at the back and slightly rock back and forth. I rang the practice to inform them and spoke to a lovely women who told me that I just needed to get used to them and go back to wearing them 24/7 again. My teeth have moved (very slightly) back to original position. I emailed the practice to express concern and they did get straight back in contact to book a review appointment. Upon that appointment Dr Omair Afzul was terribly rude and dismissive, he seemed jumped up and defensive. (Which his not usually like maybe he was having a off day) Before I could even show him how the retainers fit he told me that them being loose was not a possibility! He went on to say ‘if they was made off the original scan then your teeth would not move’ However they infact was made from my original scan!! He suggested fitting another brace or getting ALL of my front teeth wrapped. I of course do not want that expense when I could just get a correct fitting retainer at the cost of £95. I have suggested for them to provide me with the scans (at cost if need be) and I can order the retainers else wear. Also I can get a second opinion on how the retainer fits. If Dr Omair Afzul is confident in his decision then I can not see this being a problem. I understand this is a small business and would never post negative reviews if I did not feel strongly about it. I am happy to provide any updates from when I get my second opinion even if I wrong about the retainer. I’m just disappointed in Dr Omair Afzul terrible attitude towards me.

Fantastic experience: The whole team are so friendly, professional and helpful. They completely changed my teeth within one year, and gave me my confidence back! The whole process from start to finish was easy and smooth, and they made me comfortable the whole way through. I can't recommend this dentist enough for cosmetic dental work and straightening! I personally couldn’t recommend the team enough, the work and effort they put in is amazing and they always look to go above and beyond with each and every customer. Negative experience: Not really someone who leaves reviews but I must say the receptionist who works there is a piece of work. Absolute hostile woman, never smiles and makes me uncomfortable every time I go there for appointments. Honestly I’m not quite sure how she gets away with treating paying customers like that. Definitely never going back there!

Fantastic experience: Just finished my treatment here having teeth whitening & 6 composite veneers & wow!!! I’m so impressed. They look insane & I couldn’t be happier with how they have turned out. The staff at this dentist are also all really pleasant from the lovely receptionist to the staff in treatment.. it was a very welcoming place. Would recommend to anyone!!!

I had 6 porcelain veneers and whitening and the result is phenomenal. Negative experience: I was interested in having composite bonding and whitening from Sutton Aesthetic Dentistry. The initial consultation was just a quick chat. I relocated to London shortly after my consultation and therefore requested if I could reschedule my appointment for whitening to an appointment for just the composite bonding, as it made sense to have my teeth whitened closer to home. I still wanted to come to Sutton Aesthetic Dentistry for my cosmetic bonding. I was told by the receptionist that she was going on leave but my appointment would be cancelled, so I wouldn't lose my deposit and upon her return, she would get back in touch with me after speaking to my dentist. She even reiterated this before we got off the call. She never got back in touch. When I called Sutton Aesthetic Dentistry to follow-up, I was told my deposit was non-refundable and asked if I wanted to book another appointment. For what? It was clear the receptionist didn't speak to my dentist as she gave me no feedback whatsoever. Most practises take a deposit to ensure the client attends the appointment and that deposit is then used towards their future treatment(s). There are far better practises out there with far better customer service. I've just booked my bonding in with another dentist in Milton Keynes (Smile Rooms) and it was a entirely different experience. Friendly, kind, professional receptionists with wonderful customer service and my new dentist actually examined my smile and suggested advice/information on how I can achieve what I want and maintain it. Edit: I actually booked two appointments with this practice. The first was online and I missed the appointment, therefore, I totally understand the need to keep my intial deposit. The second appointment was booked via the receptionist, Michelle and I paid a £30 deposit again. I wouldn't have a problem with paying even a £50 deposit, refundable or not IF better customer service was provided. I basically paid £60 and drove 2 hours for nothing.

Negative experience: The lady behind the front seat is the rudest most arrogant woman I’ve ever met even over the phone she is arrogant

Fantastic experience: Just finished with my braces treatment 2 weeks ago and I wasn’t happy with my results and oh my God they were soooo patient with me and fixed the issue I was bothered about. They are very nice people will definitely recommend my friends also I’ll miss going there for my appointments :( Thanks to them now I can smile confidently!

Negative experience: Management should get rid of this rude and unhelpful receptionist I spoke with today. She wasnt even bother to find out why my parner is not coming up in system, instead repeated saying hes not a patient for this practice even hes been there more than once. Wont recommend anyone for this place anymore and will be changing dentist for my family.
