Negative experience: I have been a patient for 8 years and their service is appalling they always cancel appointments days before it’s due, for no reason. To try get an appointment is literally like pulling teeth! I’ve had to have fillings replaced due to poor work! I would avoid and find a better and reliable dentist! Ilkley Dental practice stop cancelling patients appointments this happens every single time for myself and children so it’s not a coincidence just poor admin!

Fantastic experience: What a lovely dentist! I have 2 , 2 year old twins who don’t sit still ect. The dentists assistant was great with them giving them stickers while I had my teeth checked. The dentist was also lovely & great with me & them. So glad I chose the dentist :) my twins also let him check their teeth he was that good!

Negative experience: Went for a checkup only. Sat in chair and then told it’ll be £189. Ridiculous.

Negative experience: Absolute shambles, at one point some guy filed my teeth like a vet does a horse, with no anisthetic, resently had a tooth ache and the dentist drilled the wrong tooth, after dropping the xray machine on my face, im not sure if the dentist is past it or permanently drunk

Fantastic experience: Today I was treated by Atika Zafar at Ilkley Dental Practice. I had an issue with my tooth, aswell as going for a general 6monthly check up. I was very impressed by the care and attention to detail. Ms Zafar made me feel at ease and was very gentle, much more so than my previous dentist at a different practice!

Fantastic experience: It was an absolutely positive experience!! Due to an error of my own making I arrived one hour late!! The lovely receptionist was understanding. She managed to slot me in. And Dr Zafar agreed to see me. She was very professional and kind. I remain a grateful patient.

Fantastic experience: I got there early, expected a long wait. Was not, the dentist, was the most loveliest man. Asif Khan, he took his time to explain the treatment, so patient. An explanation all available options.

Negative experience: Given 2 stars as it was a mixed experience. The appointment itself was fine. The Dentist himself was great with the kids and very knowledgeable. On the downside we have had our (currently) 15 year old on the waiting list for braces for 4 years now. Today we have discovered that he was removed from that list 2 years ago, even though we have asked at every check-up he has had over that 4 years. I am less than happy, and will be following this up with the practice. To be continued!

Negative experience: I have been going to this dentist for 8 years because you have no choice here in the UK on the NHS. Even though numerous times I’ve been disatisfied with their service (lots of appointments cancelled by them same day for my husband and I) and having had to get cleanings in Canada instead, as the quality just does not compare, I’m finally going to put a review because Adam Berry’s response to what should have been a simple acceptance of responsibility on the practice’s side. He claims he responds in accordance to the Nhs guidelines, but they may not make any sense in my case!!!! I was on mat leave and struggling with pain in my jaw, I went to Canada for a cleaning and they found I really needed a referral so I came to the practice in Ilkley while on mat leave and BEGGED the Dentist for a referral, spent half an hr at least trying to convince her and finally she agreed. Saw a consultant while still on mat leave and they said I needed to get a moutguard from the dentist and they’ll contact me for it as he sent a letter. I waited for a call and I didn’t even get a yearly check up from them the following year and now this year for my check when I asked about it they said I needed to pay £319.60 for the mouth guard because they are acting in the NHS guideline and I didn’t contact them. Even though they scanned the letter a year later - apparently they shunn all responsibility and duty of care to the patients!!! Wow, I am wanting to take this further because it’s based on a process that clearly doesn’t take the patient struggle into account. Also the next opportunity I have to switch dentists I will take it as not at all confident in their abilities. I can’t afford the £319 right now. I shouldn’t have had to pay for it if it was dealt with it properly. Terrible experience.

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist with three kids aged 7 years and younger can be a stressful experience but the staff were really great. The dentist was incredibly friendly, put the kids at ease and gave some really helpful feedback and advice on how to keep their teeth in good condition. I would recommend.

Negative experience: Me and my wife are on a monthly plan, which works for us . We had our appointment yesterday and notice everytime we go it is either new front desk staff or new dentists also the prices are ridiculous £103+ for a small cavity filling up 40% nearly from last year + every time we go they say you need to start on a bigger plan , or you need an x-ray, scare mongary you saying that if you have bigger plan we will see you twice a year ,we just feel that we are getting Ripped off every time we go £103+ for a small cavity, it's not on . I told the lovely Dentist lady that I won't be having treatment due to me going to Goa in January next year and I can get it done there with a descale for £11.00 to £18.00 and the dentist there is Top notch with all the modern up to date equipment and a 5 star practice. The dentist here just seems to want money ,money, money. I did say if the tooth does start causing me problems I will have to get it sorted, but hopefully I will be fine , not happy at the moment with these guys but the trouble is we need a dentist as you can't get in anywhere and they know this and that's why we think we are all getting Ripped off , but we are stuck . Damn shame.

Negative experience: I went to visit the new dentist at this practice. She immediately shoved an xray strip in my mouth and took the first set of pictures before asking my permission. She did not make me feel comfortable or relaxed, ( normally I feel great with a dentist). She did my examination and told me I needed a filling. Three days later, first one tooth broke and then another. I was surprised as I had never has a broken tooth before and none of this was mentioned at my checkup or picked up. I tried to book an appointment for a crown, eventually three weeks later I was seen today. When I questioned the dentist about my previous treatment and why these problems hadn't been picked up idn at my first checkup. She told me she was no longer prepared to treat me as my questioning showed i was not happy with her. I was desperate for my appointment today and ad been terrified for the weeks running up to it that more of my tooth would break.I have never met such a high- handed woman. Up to this point I have always had very good relations with my dentist. Needless to say I have moved to another dental practice. I am posting on behalf of my son. The practice and previously as Genisis has cancelled at least 6 of his appointment in the last 18 months. Hopeless.
