Fantastic experience: This Dental practice is wonderful, receptionist are always on hand & helpful. My dentist is James and he is very thorough, professional & has a wonderful caring personality. I feel listened to & given the best dental treatment. I have been seeing Justine the hygienist for at least 15yrs & she keeps my teeth in tip top clean shape she has always been very welcoming & friendly. I was recently referred to Martin Stuart in the practice and found him to be most professional & approachable too Thank you team.

Fantastic experience: Walton Road did a root canal treatment for me. Their level of care and service was excellent. All the surgery staff were friendly and helpful.
Fantastic experience: I went to see Martin for an implant consultation after I had been for other quotes. He was so friendly, very professional and more reassuring than the others that I had seen and spoken to. He explained the process very clearly and any queries I later had on email were answered fully and promptly. He was cheaper too! Well a few months later after some extractions and giving things time to heal and settle down I have my implants in and I'm really pleased with them. I can't recommend Martin and the practice highly enough.

Fantastic experience: After years of an ongoing infection caused by a hairline fracture in my tooth root, it was decided implants were the best solution. Two years later, the process is complete—and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Harry worked hard to straighten my teeth, and Martin did a fantastic job on the implants. Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Walton Road Dental practice for approx 30 years and have always received first class treatment. I was sad to see Mr & Mrs Phipps retire but all the new dentists have filled their shoes admirably. All the girls are excellent but a special mention to Liz and Steph who were very understanding when I called them this week, they sorted me with a last minute emergency appointment. Negative experience: The dentist was excellent and very professional, but the reception staff were shockingly rude and completely unhelpful. I was also told things that were simply untrue, which is unacceptable and unprofessional. Such behaviour seriously undermines trust, and it is appalling to encounter this in a private practice where patients rightfully expect both respect and quality care.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service! Attended for treatment with Parina and could not fault it. Parina explained the procedure and genuinely didn’t feel a thing throughout the appointment or afterwards, could not recommend Walton Road enough, from the reception staff to the nurses and dentists the service provided was brilliant
Negative experience: Very disappointed with my experience at Walton Dental Practice. I went in June with a loose filling in my upper left tooth. Despite telling the dentist exactly which tooth I thought it was, they misdiagnosed it—even after X-rays. I was charged over £400 in total and had to go to another dentist to fix the correct tooth, which was clearly the problem from the start. Would not recommend based on this experience. Response to practice 17.07.2025: Dear Jade, Thank you for getting back to me. I’m happy to discuss this further, but I’d like to be clear — this wasn’t a misunderstanding; it was a misdiagnosis. I told the dentist I thought one of my fillings had come loose in an upper left tooth (either the first or second). He replaced the filling in the second tooth, but that wasn’t the one causing the issue. I even had two X-rays, but the wrong tooth was still treated. He said everything looked fine and no more treatment was needed, unless I wanted something for cosmetic reasons. But after the numbing wore off, I felt the same loose filling as before — just like I originally described. I later went to another dentist, who quickly found and fixed the correct tooth. I don’t understand how a loose filling was missed during the checks, especially by an experienced dentist. I’ll contact the practice next week, as I’m busy this week. I’ll send an email then. Melissa is especially approachable and she makes me feel less anxious when making a visit. The hygienist is chatty and funny and gives practical advice I can follow. The receptionist is warm and welcoming and always kindly remembers me by name. Costs and prices are clear and transparent which makes my decision- making easier. Rooms are always spotless and new renovations make the place look light and airy.

Negative experience: We decided to register with this practice after seeing plenty of good reviews however our registering experience has been dreadful. We manage to book an appointment to see our children for the first time, however I had to call and reschedule as we could not make it in time, and we gave plenty of notice when doing so. Over the phone they said they'd book another day and that they will send an email confirmation with the time and day. I remember it was a saturday but as I was out I could not make note of the exact date and time. We never received any email. I have called now and they said because I did not show up the second time and cancelled the first one (which as I say it was reascheduled) they don't want to see our children anymore on the practice. The onboarding has also been appalling, they've asked us to fill a PDF form for each of the member of the family, scan and then send via email however they have asked them to convert to specific formats as they could not open it. After I managed to convert to their requested format then they said they managed to register only 2 of all the members of the family. I'm sorry we missed the appointment, there was no intention to do so but these things sometimes just happen! But to say they don't want to have anything to do with us from now on is a very malicious thing to do. This all happening in the middle of a house move, it has been a nightmare; I hope I'll find another practice which is a bit more undestanding.

We are grateful for all of our good reviews which is a wonderful reflection on our consistently exceptional service however, we are sorry to hear that in this occasion you have been dissatisfied with your experience. We take all reviews seriously and we encourage honesty from the reviewer to allow us to make a comprehensive assessment and provide a response or make changes to improve our service.
Having looked in to your case, we thank you for giving us plenty of notice when you cancelled your children’s first appointments. We rescheduled them for a date that suited you better and allocated those appointments to other children.
Regarding your rescheduled appointments, 2 days prior, we had sent you an email reminder confirming the date and time of the appointments, giving you a chance to cancel them and reschedule if you wished.
The team at Walton Road Dental is working extremely hard in order to try and help the local area to combat the current issues with dental care access. We have therefore, been providing check-ups and treatments for new child patients on weekends, outside of our normal NHS contracted practice hours, without any additional NHS funding.
As such, it was extremely disappointing that you did not bring your children to their dental appointment and did not inform the practice that you would not be attending, despite being sent a reminder. Had you have informed us, we would have rescheduled the appointments and allocated them to another child on the NHS waiting list or to a patient in pain.
As we have dedicated staff members who have graciously given up their Saturdays to provide this additional child dental service to the community, we have a single strike policy for missed Saturday appointments. On Saturdays we are contactable via email, to allow the staff to concentrate on seeing patients.
We are sorry that you have had trouble with our PDF registration form, we also supply a web link where you can simply and securely fill out an online form if you find that the PDF format does not work for you. Alternatively, printed copies can be obtained from the practice.
We are sorry that we have not met your expectations in these matters and will use your comments to improve our service for other patients. We wish you all the best with your new dental care provider.
