Laburnum Dental Practice (Riverdale Healthcare)

Fantastic experience: Huge thanks to Rachel for being such a kind and attentive dentist (especially as I'm a bit of a nervous patient!). She explained everything very clearly and spent time advising me on additional dental cleaning tools/methods, while showing me how to use them. I came away feeling genuinely cared for, not rushed, nor embarrassed about coming in for treatment. The reception staff at Alpha have always been welcoming and warm; thanks also for getting me a follow-up appointment on the same day that I called!

Fantastic experience: A caring friendly team from the receptionists to the Hygienists and the Dentist and his nurse, always made to feel at ease, everything is explained to you, the clinic is immaculately clean and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Been at this practice over 20 years,never had any negative experiences here..Recently I needed an emergency appointment and was seen by Sally one Saturday morning,she removed the nerve out of my tooth not a pleasant experience but I got through it..the only thing I couldn't cope with was the xray the gagging reflex set in when I tried had a cple of attempts but still no good..staff very patient ...

Negative experience: My wife and me have been attending this dental practice for over 40 years. We have now cancelled our scheme payments as the prices have gone up more than 4 times what we are currently paying. Nothing but greed. Shame I could not give zero or negative star rating.

Fantastic experience: I've been incredibly fortunate to have Nabeel as my dentist and have to say his patient care is completely outstanding! As someone who suffers from regular anxiety when it comes to going to the dentist, Nabeel is incredibly sympathetic and compassionate, always going above and beyond to make his patients feel so comfortable and at ease, even to the point of giving his clients regular breaks through the process to help them (which I appreciate so much and can't thank him enough for!). I was in recently for a filling and had concerns about getting into coughing fits during the process after having had bad flu almost a fortnight ago, Nabeel was so understanding about this and made the entire process very comfortable. His communication is first-class! It's absolutely refreshing to have a dentist who takes patient anxiety seriously and is willing to go above and beyond to ensure they are at ease. He's also given me some excellent advice in the past when I was trying to avoid a root canal due to my anxiety, and I've never forgotten it to be honest. He really prioritises the health of his patients teeth and I can't thank him enough! He's an absolute credit to Laburnum Dental Practice and deserves the recognition because he's absolutely FANTASTIC at what he does! Thanks a million

Positive experience: I am very scared of going to the dentist but find this one very pleasant and friendly and explain everything they are going to do. My only complaint would be the pricing, I have been attending this dentist for over 40 years and was an NHS patient but for some reason no longer NHS and now pay privately, which is very expensive.

Fantastic experience: I have very sensitive bottom teeth due to a broken jaw years ago and since I have been seen by Liv which is over the last 12 to 18 month it is basically pain free. She is not only professional and sympathetic to my condition but, painstakingly uses a manual tool without water jet to descale my teeth. Fantastic experience: My husband and I attended the surgery for our appointments and we are both highly satisfied with the treatments received. Both procedures went very smoothly. As usual special thanks to Marty and his nurse - for their professionalism, expertise, friendly manner and their willingness for going the extra mile. Also not forgetting the reception staff for making us feel welcome and valued as customers. A pleasure to visit the surgery for the best experience.

Negative experience: Not taking NHS patients only private, didn't offer to help me find one taking NHS patients very annoying as I think I've had an infection in my mouth for just over a week

Fantastic experience: Best Dentist ever. Been using this dentist since I was a kid so more than 30 years! They have always been professional and spot on with their service. David who has been there for the duration is a master at dentistry and takes any fear out of it should you be that way inclined. Can’t say enough positive comments about this place. If you’re lucky enough to be able to join this dentist then never leave.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kanaa and the team have been very professional kind and caring in dealing with my wifes dental treatment. She has been kept fully informed at every step of the way during a long programme of treatment.

Negative experience: This dental practice do not follow the Equality Act 2010 as they do not make reasonable adjustments for patients with disabilities. I was struck off as I hadn’t attended for over 2 years due to my disability. Refused to reconsider and now I don’t have any access to NHS dental care. Refused to help in any way.

Fantastic experience: Dr kanaa and nurse halima were amazing went in with a chipped tooth my partner was in for an appointment and she asked if they could have a look so he did they were so helpful and kind very professional fixing my chipped tooth and other things for me I can't thank them enough talk about 5 star they were amazing and I came out with a perfect smile

Fantastic experience: Dr Kanaa has been amazing with my mother who has not been using her dentures for over 7 years. The impressions were difficult has my mother has bone loss and very little gums. Dr Kanaa explained the process all the way through, the difficulties, how he could mitigate them. He has been friendly and honest during the appointment, making my mother, who is in a wheechair feel very comfortable. She has one final appointment to pick up the finished dentures and my mother is really looking forward to getting them. Mr Kanaa has made the appointments a pleasure and very patient with my mother. I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience with Riverdale Healthcare/Laburnum Dental Practice who went above and beyond to make sure communication was smooth and that I understood everything without even having to ask or explain. I'm profoundly Deaf, and immediately everyone from reception to dentist wrote everything down for me. My dentist even got creative with coming up with some gestures to use for if I wanted her to stop, opening/closing mouth and some others. She also made to continually check I understood everything. Thank you for such a great and stress-free experience!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dr Kanaa more highly! He is kind, confident, friendly, reassuring and most importantly the best dentist I have ever seen. He obviously has a vast wealth of experience and knowledge and is very expertly trained. He came in early so I could be seen swiftly, he made sure I was happy and satisfied with my bite and smoothness of my teeth, excellent at giving injections -no pain at all on 2 fillings. Love this gentleman absolutely excellent service! Also his dental nurse Paulette was great, kind and very attentive and was excellent at preempting choking. Thank you both very much!

Fantastic experience: Tim really knows his stuff. Brilliant from consultation through to major extraction, at my request, he wanted to save them. However 5 extractions later and perfectly shaped pallette, I'm over the moon

Negative experience: Don't bother if you have severe anxiety. I made it very clear that I have extra needs and they blatantly lied to me telling me ther would be no blood or pain. When there was I had I a panic attack and left. Almost a year later I find out they've kicked me out without any notice. Very unprofessional.

For years I've been nervous of seeing the dentist but after an extended hiatus, due to Covid, I was very stressed! Fantastic experience: Great advice received from David today regarding a valplast denture, although I wished for bridgework to be done on David’s advice due to my current health problems and my teeth not being strong enough to hold the bridgework he advised me to have a valplast denture instead which would reduced the amount of invasive work needed. I always feel relaxed and comfortable in any of the dental work I have received over the past 20 years plus.

Fantastic experience: After terrible experiences with teeth extraction before, I was extremely nervous to go back to a dentist and after 4 years of not going I switched to this dental practice. Best decision I ever made, the reception staff were lovely, and the dentist and dental assistant were amazing too. Mehrdad Attarpour was tentative and explained everything very well to me. He was very empathetic and talked me through everything as he did it and checked my mouth was numb before going ahead with my wisdom tooth extraction. I was extremely nervous prior to going in but his level of professionalism and care to his patients really put me at ease. Thank you very much!!!

Negative experience: Asked for braces every single year as child. Once turned 16 they offer treatment but adult cost. Awful. Also ask and offer to pay for whitening and said not work. Lol

Fantastic experience: I've been using the Wallsend practice for about 30yrs and have always been very satisfied with the treatments I received. I did find they were a bit more expensive than other practioners but was prepared to pay as I had a lovely dentist, Pete Thompson who was very caring and understanding. He has recently left taking early retirement, I now have a new dentist called Harriet who is just as lovely so will stay with them as long as I'm able.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful I found this dental practice. After many years of anxiety I finally have found a practice I trust entirely. Tim and Peter are excellent, kind, understanding and very experienced. Appointment times are quick and the surgery has a lovely calm feel about it. I travel the twelve mins from the city centre as its easy to get to and there is always parking directly outside.

Fantastic experience: The dentist was very knowledgable and compassionate. She listened to what I had to say about my teeth and gave me strong advice on what could be done regarding grinding my teeth at night. She explained where and why a cavity has formed and the price to fill it as well as the price for replacing my retainers and the price of a soft splint if I wished to get one. Overall a great service and I left feeling cared for.

Fantastic experience: I have already recommended this practise to a work colleague as the service and treatment have always been fantastic. All members of staff are very friendly, welcoming and understanding when you have under gone treatment. My daughter also refused to open her mouth for years to a lot of dentists we were even referred to dental hospital and she still refused. I registered with this practise as I heard good reviews from friends who had children. Mr Peach had a knack and she opened her mouth first time. This was roughly 10 years ago and we have never been else where for treatment.

Fantastic experience: Yes to the question, I have missed several appointments in the last several years due to being unwell and several hospital stays. I phone up, apologise and the receptionists are extremely pleasant and I am given a new appointment .No problem .I Am also grateful to the receptionists for giving me the loan of one of there higher chairs as I have a problem getting up from low seats I would like to thank Timfor the good work he does on my teeth and accommodateing me by using the down stairs surgery.
