The Sandstone Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: I recommend Sandstone for the first class dental care that I received during quite complex implant procedures. For reasons of distance (it's over an hour's drive) Sandstone is not my regular dental practice. However, they were strongly recommended to me as being able to deal with some complicating factors in the bone structure of my jaw resulting from previous history, this being supported by my regular dental surgeon. Following the necessary extraction (at my regular NHS dentist) of an upper front tooth from a site on my jaw that proved unsuitable for an individual implanted incisor and the failure of an NHS plate to stay in place (especially when trying to eat steak!) a more radical solution was clearly required From the moment I walked in to Sandstone's splendid surgery, I sensed that I had made a good choice. Following very thorough examination with top-notch equipment, there was much technical discussion between Fadi and Robbie (in which I was closely involved and including out of hours phone conversations) to establish an ingenious solution (to me at least) utilising a previous implant and two further new implants. The plan was formulated and explained to me very clearly and then executed over a relatively short period. The process (under sedation) and recovery was free of any significant pain and discomfort despite the necessary removal of four teeth, The tailoring and installation of the denture teeth themselves took place as soon as the implants were ready to support. Proper attention was paid to the aesthetic as well as the clinical aspects and I have been highly satisfied with the result. Everything has proved both stable and comfortable. I have been complimented, as a senior citizen, on the appearance of my teeth; I don't generally get too many compliments on my appearance so this has been a pleasant exception. Follow-up and review appointments have been thorough and advice on hygiene has been good. I am most grateful to Fadi and his team (in surgery and at the welcoming and efficient reception) and to Robbie for returning my steak-eating abilities.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist! From the first call from the receptionist about my root canal referral, it was positive! The receptionist was lovely and explained everything I needed to know. My appointment was with Kate and she was lovely, caring and took the time to explain and reassure me. It didn't feel rushed and felt like we could go at the speed I was comfortable with. She gave honest advice and put a plan together to sort the issue. She is very knowledgeable and you feel like you're in good hands. On this occasion after investigation, it turned out I didn't require a root canal, but in the future if I needed the treatment, I wouldn't hesitate to book in and get it sorted with Kate. Having previously been an anxious patient, this appointment has made me significantly less anxious, with having such a positive appointment and experience. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Life-Changing Experience! I recently had crown lengthening and composite bonding done here, and I honestly can’t express how thrilled I am with the results. From the moment I walked in, Fadi and his team made me feel comfortable and confident about the entire process. I didn't knew what to expect and exactly how everything will look when I camed but the transformation in my smile is absolutely incredible — it’s not just a cosmetic improvement, it’s a complete boost in my confidence. The attention to detail, precision, and care taken during and after both the crown lengthening and bonding procedures was outstanding. Kathryn and Katie put me at ease straight away and explained everything to me in detail. I was very pleased with the outcome of my treatment which was to repair a chipped composite front tooth. Fantastic experience: I became a patient of Sandstone in about 2017. Up to that point I had had fairly frequent dental visits, many of which included significant amounts of ibuprofen and Paracetamol. Fadi quickly had a tooth removed and replaced it with an implant and a crown. All went well. I then had root canal treatment and a crown on another tooth, with a warning that it might be too far gone. That was almost five years ago with no problems to date. The combination of well executed structural care and a good hygiene program (I had never seen a "hygienist" before) has transformed my dental health. Highly recommended and very good value. Sales of ibuprofen/Paracetamol must have nosedived!

Fantastic experience: I have recently had 2 long appointments for root canal treatment with Kate Blundell. Kate and her team were professional, patient and caring throughout. I experienced no discomfort whatsoever during these appointments, and there was an excellent rapport between Kate and her staff.

Kate and her team completed the procedure over 3 visits and managed to save the infected tooth, which had been troublesome for over 18-months. Positive experience: Hygiene treatment by Emma was excellent as always. I was a bit taken a back to be asked to pay the full cost of the next hygiene appointment 6 months in advance. I understand your concern to avoid no shows. I would be ok to pay a month in advance or maybe 25% upfront. If the same system is still in place next time I have a regular appointment, I will not book 6 months ahead.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Sandstone for specialised treatment to save a tooth. I am an incredibly nervous patient with high anxiety and a longstanding fear of dentists. I attended Sandstone Dental Practice for advice and treatment of a chronic infection that had developed in one of my teeth that had received root canal treatment (by another practice) many years before. Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Fadi, Robbie and Emma enough for everything they have done for me. I was referred to Sandstone after my crown had failed leaving me with no front tooth alongside a veneer that had receded over the years. With a job that requires me to produce videos to train my colleagues, my confidence took a massive hit. Emma made sure my gums were in the best condition possible, Robbie was then able to complete my bone graft and implant before Fadi replaced my adjacent veneer and impressively highered my gumline to match where my implant would begin. Throughout the entire process it was clear they cared, spending time to talk me through the procedures and consulting with each other to ensure a smooth transition between their specialisms. I no longer have a smile that was mostly gums and my new front teeth look amazing and natural! I have my confidence back, no reservations producing my training videos anymore. My new teeth were also fitted in time for my graduation, meaning I smiled all day and took thousands of photos. Thank you so much Sandstone.

Fantastic experience: The Sandstone Dental Practice honestly is an amazing place. I had searched for this dentist for months before going ahead with my treatment. My front tooth is dead and after some time had started to go dark yellow/brown colour. I never smiled on pictures, or at least when I did smile my lips would consciously be pressed together to ensure the hideous tooth did not show. After some work from kate I can now smile again. I travelled a good 40mins for my appointments and I would not of had it any other way. All the staff are amazing. Very friendly and always willing to help advise. Thank you so much for my treatment this was more than just a tooth. It’s rebuilt my confidence and I no longer put my hand over my mouth when I talk (to hide the tooth). Thank you all

Fantastic experience: Had to attend for an emergency appointment and saw Kate after having an extraction at their sister Practice Sunlight Dental. As a nervous patient I was so please to be treated with the upmost respect, empathy & care. Kate was gentle and very understanding. I had unfortunately got an infection in the extraction site but Kate treated it and sorted me out with some Anti-biotics and I immediately felt relieved and also the pain had eased considerably. Fantastic experience: This is an incredible practice with a brilliant team, and if you've read any of my other reviews you will know I am extremely picky. Having not seen a dentist for years, and with significant tooth decay, I am a nightmare patient - dentist-phobic, strong gag reflex and I have chronic illnesses. Despite all of this, the quality of care I have received has been consistently high from each and every member of the team. If you are someone who is nervous of dentistry, you will appreciate the following things: this is (as is clear on the website) a highly professional team with a great deal of in-house expertise in cutting edge treatments. This means that they are more than capable of managing nightmare mouths (which mine is...), which makes you feel as though you are in safe hands. The combination of skill and compassion/willingness to work around the needs of nervous patients is, in my experience, rare. I have EDS and POTS, both rare diseases that impact what injections/treatments I can have, but the dental team had read up on the latest research and had significant expertise; they were able to talk through treatment options, giving me choices I felt I could manage. The hygienist I saw was fantastic, she worked on stabilising the decay in my mouth and getting me a much better routine at home. The other thing I'm very grateful for is the skill of the dental nurses - it's not easy to work in someone's mouth if they have a strong gag response, and it makes a real difference to have people who care a great deal about placing instruments so that their patients are able to relax and aren't triggered. Finally, receptionists who are prepared to go the extra mile to find appointments and in particular to juggle round emergencies are like gold-dust, and I have really appreciated their patience and persistence in finding a schedule for all my appointments. I would strongly recommend this practice to anyone, but those with dentist-phobia and/or complex needs are certain to get real value.

Fantastic experience: My wife had major problems with her front teeth. Her dentist referred her to Sandstone. Under the remarkable care of Fadi and Robbie the extensive treatment of implants, bone grafts and everything else was performed. Although the treatment took a long time, everything turned out marvelously. The whole team were fabulous and she couldn't be happier with the end result.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Kate at the Sandstone Dental Practice for specialist treatment through a recommendation from my dentist. Kate puts you completely at ease, explaining the procedure and you know instantly you are completely in safe and professional hands. The treatment was lengthy but I felt very relaxed throughout, in fact, so at ease that I was starting to fall asleep. I even looked forward to the second visit to complete the treatment – not something I would have ever expected from visiting a dentist. I cannot recommend Kate and her team highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I had a wisdom tooth removed which was growing below the gum and in the wrong direction it was also close to the nerve. An anaesthtist was also present to ensure all was well prior to the procedure starting, however the whole procedure went very well.Robbie did explain that by no means was the extraction straight forward but thank fully Robbie and his team nailed it. Also the surgery contacted me to offer aftercare support the next day which was really appreciated. Hopefully all will repair itself but it is very reassuring to know that I can call for further treatment should it be needed thank you so much to Robbie and the team.

I had the tooth removed with LA, and the whole process was pain-free. Fantastic experience: Unfortunately, I had to have an extraction of a side tooth, and knew I would be left with a gap which would be seen if I smiled. I deliberated for a long time before I chose to proceed with a dental implant procedure. I had preconceived ideas that it would be painful, and being a nervous dental patient anyway, was apprehensive to say the least. From the moment I met Robbie and his team, I felt reassured and more than happy to proceed. Although the process was lengthy, i suffered no pain whatsoever at any point. Her treatment plan and provision is first class, and watching her rapport with her assistant Laura, it’s was great to witness the teamwork between them, which adds to a great patient experience. You really don’t feel like your at the dentist and my two hours in the chair while getting my root canal treated, flew by as Laura & Kate keep you entertained. It’s the little touches like a comfy pillow under my head while I’m in for long appointment that I really appreciated and the fact while being master at what she does, Kate is very down to earth. Please don’t be scared at the thought of root canal treatment, it sounds invasive but Kate does amazing local anaesthetic blocks and you don’t feel a thing. I have worked for the nhs for 24 years and while it goes against the grain to think about joining a private practice, the current nhs dental contract does not provide much in the way restorative treatment for those of us who have had extensive dental work in the past that now requires revision. So I will be joining Sandstone as a patient at their next intake or their sister practice Sunlight dental practice in port sunlight. Great team & Amazing, care. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I am an extremely anxious person when it come to the dentist, I was referred to sandstone and seen Robbie Williams, after my consultation with him my anxiety levels dropped so much, he listened and explained the full tooth extraction to me, he promised me I wouldn't need sedation as besides a bit of pulling and tugging I wouldn't feel any pain,. I cannot thank Robbie enough for all his reassurance and turning it into a pleasant experience. Fantastic experience: My wife, as a life-long nervous dental patient was incredibly anxious about having a tooth extraction. Having the option of sedation really helped and both Martin (Anaesthetist) and Robbie (Dentist) spent time prior to any treatment listening to her fears and concerns and continued this support whilst it was underway. It is a well run and intimate setup with bang up to date techniques and equipment. Very well done. I can not praise this dental practice too highly.

After two years of having problems with a root canal which my own and another dentist could not finish , obie has now completed the work and I now have no pain in my face . Fantastic experience: After almost 30 years with a severe dental phobia, I was recommended to have a consolation at Sandstone with Robbie, from another practice who couldn’t treat me with the fears I had, he was extremely understanding and took the time I needed to help me have 2 teeth out, he arranged sedation for me, and never did I feel rushed, and finally I’m pain free and can honestly say he overcame my huge fear I had, and I will continue with Sandstone without further fear. I can sum up by saying Thank you to the whole of the staff who where nothing short of friendly, understanding and professional.

Fantastic experience: I went to Sandstone Dental Practice to improve my smile, and was consulted by Dr. Chiggs to follow the course of Invisalign treatment followed by teeth whitening and composite bonding. The service from Chiggs, Jess and all the team was outstanding from start to finish and I am delighted with the results. I would highly recommend seeking consultation from Chiggs if you are looking for a non-invasive smile makeover done the proper way.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment today with hygienist Emma Speed. I wasnt looking forward to the appointment because I have such anxiety around dental work of any kind and I hadn't had a hygienist appointment for about 20years.!!! Both Emma and her dental nurse Laura made my appointment so much easier on my nerves than I expected. They didn't judge me, they were both just lovely. I was really happy with the outcome and have booked to see them again in 3 months. I have dental work (fillings etc) scheduled for the end of August and, after my hygienist appointment, I do not feel half as nervous about that than I did before. They are all really lovely at Sandstone and I'm glad I have finally started to get my teeth sorted out, I definitely chose the right practise!!! Thank you also to Millie the receptionist for her prompt work in sorting out my practice plan membership Xx

Fantastic experience: All of the staff here are very friendly. I have had some anxiety about visiting the dentist in the past I was made to feel comfortable and relaxed. I have visited the hygienist and had procedures with Kate, and with Chiggs and his dental nurse Jess. Everything was smoother and easier than I expected and I've been really happy with the results. Fantastic experience: My son recently had to undergo a minor operation on the pallet of his mouth to remove an extra tooth that had been found during a recent visit to an orthodontists to have a brace fitted . They recommended Mr Williams at the Sandstone Dental Practice . From start to finish they were excellent and could not be faulted . The care taken to help my sons apprehension ( scared 13yr old ) regarding the operation was 1st class . Mr Williams explained the whole process to him putting him at ease . Fantastic experience: As a fellow Dental Professional, I specifically chose Kate Blundell to do my root filling. She is a Specialist in Endodontics, so is an expert in her field. All her work is done under a microscope using the latest materials. This means it has given my tooth the best possible chance of lasting a lifetime. Other than that, Kate is also blessed with having the most relaxing and reassuring chairside manner. It was a pleasure having my treatment done by her. I would not hesitate to recommend her highly to anyone else needing Endodontic care.

Fantastic experience: I was originally referred to this dental practice by my own dentist for root canal treatment but my tooth was not suitable so I had a dental implant instead. I was initially very nervous but both dentists I saw and all the other staff were able to take the fear out of the process for me by their kind and caring attitude. Fantastic experience: Yesterday, I had a three roots of a broken tooth extracted, I was dreading the experience. Dr. Robbie Williams and his assistant Suzanne were brilliant and very professional, they were very reassuring beforehand and throughout. It was easier for me than having a filling, no drilling necessary and no pain. Aftercare was explained in detail by Dr. Williams and a follow up email with a reminder of aftercare. Altogether a very efficient and professional dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended to go to the Sandstone practice by my Dentist Matt at Greasby Dental and saw Kate. Right away she put me at ease, had a lovely smile and approach and carefully explained my treatment plan. I returned yesterday for a root canal treatment but sadly the tooth wasn’t suitable to complete this. Kate had warned me that this may happen . Her Dental nurse Laura and the girls in Reception were also very nice and friendly, It is expensive but it is private and quality is worth paying for. Fantastic experience: I recently had root canal work undertaken by Katie Blundell at the Sandstone Dental Practice. The treatment has been extremely successful and because of her expertise, care and relaxed but professional approach I found it a very positive experience.

Positive experience: As an extremely anxious, phobic patient, I took a great deal of time, care and courage to contact a dentist I felt I could trust to take care of my broken back tooth which I knew would need an extraction, and was terrified of. For both my sake and the dentists sake, it was imperative that I could be sedated for the procedure. I want to start by saying that once I was in for my procedure, the level of care was fantastic; the dentist, nurse and anaesthetist were calm, chatty, friendly and didn't make a big deal of my tears and stress. They also allowed my partner to be in with me for the entire procedure,and the nurse also played some music I like in the background. The IV sedation was a godsend- I don't remember a single thing about the procedure even though I wasn't put to sleep, it is such a critical service for people like myself, and I imagine important for the dentist too so that they're able to actually do their job. Unfortunately a few things let the whole experience down, and whilst I understand covid was likely to blame for some of it, the long waits I had to endure were very stressful and anxiety inducing, which was disappointing given that after reading positive reviews on a dental phobia website, the reason I contacted them in the first place was because I felt they could help me with that. I booked my appointment online as instructed after sending the dentist a lengthy message explaining my situation, my broken tooth and the pain it was causing me (I spent months living off of a diet of both ibuprofen and paretomol, and had to lay my face on a bag of frozen peas in bed). I made the booking on the 12th October, and straight after I received a message from them saying a huge well done for the courage that took- it was so appreciated and lovely! Unfortunately the earliest I could get in for my 1st check over was over 6 weeks away. Once I'd had my appointment (about 10 minutes) where X rays were taken and the extraction/sedation was discussed, after going to reception they informed me that I couldn't have my tooth removed until February because of my need for sedation! I understand the anaesthetist was going home for 3 weeks over Christmas, but a 3 month wait was much longer than I was prepared for, was a big shock to my system and I burst in to tears in the reception area, especially as at the time I was in a lot of pain too. When you are anxious, every day that you wait is a day for you to over think, catastrophise and build up the fear. The entire point of offering sedation is to help anxious patients, so to have such long waits because of it seems counter intuitive to the cause. There was simply no way a dentist would have been able to remove my tooth without it. I will say the receptionists were very understanding, amazing in trying to do what they can to get me in earlier and staying in regular contact to keep me updated. I finally had my tooth removed on Friday. My appointment was at 3pm, but after arriving they asked me to wait in the car with my partner, and I wasn't called in until 3.30, giving me 30 mins to build up the stress even more and anticipate the procedure. As a full paying private patient the process was expensive, although I believe they knocked off the cost of my first appointment without me saying anything; I can only assume that it was because of the waiting, and is much appreciated! Even still, for 1 tooth removal with sedation I paid around £440 (the estimate I received was about £110 more). I want to reiterate that the level of care I received once in my appointments was patient, kind and wonderful which is why I feel awful saying that the bits in between let the experience down. There were 18 weeks between me making the booking, and finally having the tooth removed, and on top of the 30 min wait before the procedure, I can't help but feel disappointed by this. Apologies for the lengthy review, but I wanted to give an honest account to help other people in a similar position!

I went to Kate for a route canal and everything went so smoothly, with no problems at all. I felt absolutely no pain whatsoever and felt so relaxed. I felt like I could of fell asleep in the chair during treatment. I had virtually no pain afterwards, it was so minimal. Thank you for giving me such a pleasant experience. I really needed it after such a bad experience with a dentist elsewhere
