Fantastic experience: My son's experience was great. The dentist (Mr Patel I think) made him feel as comfortable as possible and explained every step of the treatment. Also the receptionist was very helpful by calling me back after a cancellation as we needed this emergency appointment. Thank you!

Positive experience: Had to visit the dentist after a tooth cracked in the airport awaiting a flight home from Turkey. Couldn't believe it when it happened. Fast forward to the day of the appointment completely at my choosing to fit my schedule wasn't an emergency I wasn't in any pain, more shock really. Passed pleasantries with the dentist and hygienists and a quick x ray to assess the damage. I really didn't want to have it taken out if at all possible but it was explained several options dependant on the x ray. After the results I was informed a deep permanent filling was possible. At that point dentist excused himself to take a call from a colleague. I thought nothing of it but started to get a bit anxious, when could it be done, etc etc. There stepped in the dental nurse. She was really professional and began to make small talk about holidays to fill the gap left by the dentist no pun intended. It settled me down no end and I am very grateful for the calming experience I had in the chair that day. I was fortunate to be able to have the filling immediately which again was a great relief. Overall very happy with the experience if it could have been improved it would have been with a little aftercare and contact . Obviously with a drooling mouth you just want to get home and return to feeling somewhat normal. I had contemplated asking for some sort of cleaning scaling details, perhaps a plan but nothing was forthcoming. With all your details I would have expected some follow-up. All I got was this review option so my criticism lies here at the end of the review. A final big up to the hygienist who put me at ease during the interlude it made the experience so less daunting being distracted by her conversation while awaiting the dentist. Many Thanks Paul.

Amazing team of people on the day of extraction, very considerate, efficient and effective, they put an anxious mind at ease, for this I thank each and every one of them. Very professional, super team the place to go for any Dental work.

Fantastic experience: What an experience! I've had sedation done and 7 teeth removed, I've not long left the surgery and I'm feeling absolutely fine. Great doctors in there I swear!

Negative experience: Absolute joke ! I initially enquired about a full crown smile and was told it would cost 12.5k. So I was told to come down for a consultation that would include a x ray and a mock smile for £30. When I got to great Harwood synergy I was told that the x ray and mock smile was extra money. To my disgust I asked for a refund. I went to the receptionists and was told she could re book me with another clinician! So it seems Mr Karim Rachidi couldn’t be bothered! So I asked for my refund and was told it would take 28 days! Absolute waste of journey! And absolutely disgusted. Very poor service!

Fantastic experience: My dentist and his nurse were both polite, friendly, reassuring and very efficient as always. The staff, on reception are friendly, helpful and very pleasant also. As an elderly gentleman was leaving the surgery he gave the staff a small confectionary treat, which says it all really.

Negative experience: I have been with this practice for 7 years and always had a good experience. Until the last 2 months. A check up done by a lady I had not seen before, all ok but needed an X-Ray. X-Ray machine wouldn't work, then when it did the image wouldnt produce. I was told I needed a filling and to book in, but they would check with the x-ray and call if any further issues. I recieved a call that evening to explain the x-ray showed that the cavity whilst small, was deep and due to the twisted nature of the tooth roots a filling couldnt be done, and a root canal would not be done on the NHS and to do it privately would be an awful lot of money. Said ok to an extraction, but it needed to be done by a surgeon, not a dentist. My referral was rejected but no one informed me. I called to find out what was happening and the receptionist told me she would call back once figured out in a few hours. No call. I had to call 2 days later. Not enough information, so would call back later, again no phone call when promised, but I did get one the following day. Eventually they re-reffered me and the whole process took 2 months of pain. No apologies or appointments to help. Extraction date came around to be called 2 hours before to cancel the appointment. Rebooked for the following week. They then changed the time without calling or contacting me. Had I not called when I checked my online account I wouldnt have known. The receptionist said "sorry" with the sincerity of a wet washcloth. Don't say it if you dont mean it. Went for extraction today to be told it should be a filling by the dentist or root canal. I was raging. Explained I was told they wont do this on NHS. The surgeon then said that the person who told me this and did my check up wasnt a dentist, but a clinical technician and cant make those decisions. They tried to get an appointment but told another months wait to see the dentist who may still deny me a filling. I was not prepared to do this and wait 3 months for a dentist to just see me rather than treat me.I do not trust this surgery at all at this point. They have been rude and clearly dont care. Their service was disgusting. To not even tell me a dental technician was doing the check up, she couldnt do the referall, she cant make the decisions, and then still continue as though she can, is just complete mismanagement of business and patients. To then have the upheaval of appointments cancelled, then rearranged without my knowledge, then treatment nearly denied was too much. I refused to have any further dealings with them at this time. The surgeons then asked if I wanted the tooth out instead, as originally planned for 2 months. I opted for this because I will not have this surgery have me living in pain any longer to then mess up again. Id rather lose a tooth than deal with them at this point. The tooth was in the grey area of needing removed due to twisted long roots, so I took the opportunity instead of being let down again. Great surgery when they want to be, but they let me down at every single stage this time and I have completely lost faith. Please ensure your check ups are with a dentist and not a dental technician.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I stepped into this clinic at Great Harwood, I was impressed with the professionalism and the way they put me at ease. I have been afraid of dentists all of my life, never before have the people in a clinic (private or NHS) made such a positive impact on both myself and my husband. I was also impressed with the short timescale, from having teeth out, to getting my dentures, it makes such a difference. Fantastic experience: Although no actual treatment was done, as the dentist realised that it was a wisdom tooth and also on account of my age(78) he thought it best that the extraction should be conducted in a hospital due to the possible risk of my jaw fracturing and thus referred me. I am however still awaiting a hospital appointment for this procedure and would appreciate if you could take this up with the hospital dental section. All in all, I found your dental surgeon to have acted very professionally

That aside, the dentist and assistant that removed my tooth were so kind, reassuring, explained everything and my procedure was pain free. I was in good hands and would recommend this surgery to others.

Negative experience: Be careful when you go for an emergency appointment because it’s advertised as a one off payment for £80 including a tooth removal and my son has just paid £80 and was told that he needed to pay an extra £350 to get the tooth removed. Very misleading and the dentist wasn’t polite at all and my son felt like he was being spoke down and made to feel very uncomfortable. He’s not one to complain but I believe that everyone should be treated equally and with respect!!

Negative experience: I am deeply disappointed with the treatment I received at Synergy Dental Clinic Blackpool. I had two fillings done on the left side of my mouth approximately five months ago. Since then, I’ve experienced constant discomfort and have not been able to chew properly on that side. Despite returning to the same dentist multiple times to have the issue corrected, the problem persisted — and shockingly, one of the fillings even fell out while brushing. This clearly indicates poor-quality work and lack of proper care. I expected better professionalism and responsibility from a reputable clinic. I have requested either a refund or a correction by another competent dentist under their one-year guarantee, but so far, no satisfactory solution has been offered. This ongoing issue has affected my daily life and health, and I feel extremely let down by the service. I do not recommend this clinic based on my experience

Negative experience: My visit to this dental clinic was an extremely unpleasant experience, the staff showed a blatant disregard for professionalism and respect, making patients feel unwelcome and undervalued, my concerns were ignored, and the dismissive attitude created a frustrating atmosphere, the quality of care and service was far below acceptable standards. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a positive and respectful healthcare experience

Fantastic experience: Excellent service!!!!! I have been a patient of Synergy for a number of years and in this time a number of old dental problems have finally been resolved. A reoccurring tooth ache diagnosed by my previous dentist as an ‘impacted tooth’. I was recommended to manage with pain medication when it occurred, this was actually a cracked tooth and was cured with a root canal filling, thank you Afzal years of pain removed. Another problem was a constantly re-occurring abscess in my gum, again my previous dentist was ‘not concerned about this’ Karim was shocked and prescribed a course of antibiotics, tooth removal, bone graft and dental implant; this cured another long term problem. Finally two 40 year old front teeth crowns were replaced giving me back a fantastic smile. All my visits have been positive, well cared for and informative, both Karim and Afzal have a brilliant bedside manner and I cannot recommend them highly enough, if you doubt that a root canal filling was painless and the time spent in the chair simply flew by. Excellent service thank you both

Negative experience: My wife had a top set of veneers done at the Great Harwood branch and after one week she had trouble as she found that they were not fitted correctly. She arranged to see Karim and he said that they were fine BUT he insisted that she grinded her teeth in her sleep and that was the problem. I have been married twenty five years to my wife and i know she does not grind her teeth what so ever. He would not accept that they were not fitted correctly after many visits to try and unsuccessfully sort out the problem. This review is left due to the after sales service that my wife did not receive to resolve the problem. My wife paid cash so the only advice that i would give is please use a credit card as you can have your money reimburshed due to goods not received as described. Not going to bother emailing you in regards to explaining as you have requested because you don't reply to past emails regarding this situation.

Fantastic experience: First visit: Got a next day appointment at late notice due to a broken tooth sustained playing rugby over the weekend. I had a new patient appointment and work undertaken to repair the tooth all on the same day in around 40 minutes- Dental team and reception staff were both lovely and very polite

Fantastic experience: relatively new patient at the Great Harwood Practice , attended 28/1/25 for my first 6 monthly check up , I was early , but very surprised ( and pleased ) to be seen nearly 15 minutes before my scheduled time . All the staff were really nice & as a somewhat nervous person where Dental appointments are concerned , that is a huge plus for me .

Negative experience: I made my first appointment with Synergy at the Haslingden clinic in 2023. I made a follow-up appointment for 6 months later, arranged time out of work, and this was cancelled. I made a new appointment, took time off work again, and again this was cancelled. As a result, I decided to try the Blackburn branch. I made the appointment and paid upfront. The appointment is a week away and I have received a text to say it is cancelled and needed to call. I rang reception as requested and was told I could have an appointment on Thursday - as a teacher, I can not get out of work at such short notice. I explained this to the person I spoke to; I explained that I was frustrated as I had now had three appointments cancelled by Synergy, however made sure I did say I knew it wasn't that staff members fault. Instead of an apology or even just listening to my feelings, she quickly replied with, "Haslingden has nothing to do with me." As such, I decided Synergy would have nothing to do with me from now on, and I will take my custom elsewhere. Slightly frustrating, but being that I was scheduled for a whitening program, and also need work on my dental implants, they will probably lose quite a bit of money from me. All of this could have been avoided if someone had just said, "Sorry, I understand this is annoying. When works for you and I will make sure your next appointment definitely happens." I've never known a dentist with such poor customer service.

Fantastic experience: All staff are super helpful and polite and put you at ease, especially when you are not a fan of the dentist. You can tell that they are providing you service that’s right for you vs profit margins

Had a broken tooth where a filling had come out and to save me £300 plus for a crown the dentist there (sorry I forget his name) managed to create a filling of sorts and it’s been spot on since. The chap I see now is always so polite and welcoming. Recommend.

Fantastic experience: I went for a consultation for sedation- originally I wanted a general- for a tooth extraction. I was offered the opportunity to have the tooth extracted using only local anaesthetic- was hesitant but agreed- it was pain free and took less than 5 mins! I would highly recommend this practice!

I was referred to synergy Blackburn for work done under sedation, I can't believe how good my experience was... calm... kind staff... so gentle while I was under sedation compared to a previous general anaesthetic at a hospital. Honestly cannot recommend them enough... being an extremely nervous patient this is my best experience yet!!

Negative experience: “If a client misses the first appointment, he can never come again” said manager. What illogical rules?

Fantastic experience: A most welcoming and attentive dental practice with engaging staff members who are professional and friendly. My dentist was gentle and supportive throughout the root canal treatment and I felt considered as a patient and not just another number! He also listened to me when I asked about the different financial options available. I therefore highly recommend this practice to all. Joy Wareing

Fantastic experience: Visiting Synergy Dental this morning, in Great Harwood. Wonderful visit, the Dentist was very polite and conducted an examination in the most professional manner.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for 10.15 , I arrived at 10.05 and checked in with the receptionist who said “ you’re here for a tooth extraction is that right ?” . I told her no I’m here for a check up ‍♂️. Fast forward 25 minutes later and I’m still waiting to be seen, nobody has apologised for the delay or kept me in the loop as to why there’s a delay. Eventually at 10.43 i said I couldn’t wait any longer as I was due at work soon , so I would have to leave . The receptionist assured me that the dentist would be with me in 2 minutes, so I sat back down and waited and waited and waited , 11 minutes later nobody had appeared so I asked the receptionist how I could get a refund as I had to leave. I emailed there and then for a refund stating the reasons and then I left . Nearly 2 weeks later I’ve heard nothing apart from a letter telling me off for missing an appointment. Terrible customer service and I’ve now moved my business elsewhere. Definitely not a dentist I could recommend.

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience, the dentist and assistant were friendly. The examination was thorough and included x-rays for good measure. The same dentist did my hygiene appointment which was excellent. Very little discomfort (they’ve been brutal in the past with others) and my teeth are the cleanest they’ve been for a while. Will certainly keep going back.

Fantastic experience: I am very scared of dentist and I also have autism, so it was a long decision to finally go to the dentist as soon as I walked in through the door I was greeted so lovely and complimented as well by the receptionist, she could see I was extremely nervous and explained all the steps that would be taken place today she offered me a glass of water and resured me, from there I was taken by the dentist who had the same greet and feel comfortable to them. Fantastic experience: Really good experience, first visit to synergy Blackburn (first dentist visit in a while actually) and very happy. Really friendly, quick and easy to deal with. A couple of x-rays and a clean later and I'm all good. Took my 18 month old at the same time and they were great with her too. Highly recommend.
