Fantastic experience: I visited Katie the hygienist today. I had some concerns and she went out of her way to allay my fears as far as she could. She gave very helpful advise on an electric toothbrush and was very positive. I would put her on the same pedestal Rebecca Smith the dentist was on.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t be more grateful to have found a dentist like Dr. Rebecca Smith. Negative experience: I have had great experiences at Lion House in the past for significant dental work- an implant, which cost me c£4000, brilliant job. However on a recent visit for a tooth infection, I needed antibiotics. £52 for an emergency appointment- fine. £15 for an antibiotic that they could provide me - fine to pay the extra for the convenience of not needing to drive to a pharmacy. However, they are now charging £10 for the dentist to write the prescription on a piece of paper, regardless of whether you get the prescription from lion house, or from a pharmacy. So £10 for a piece of paper for the dental assistant to go and grab the antibiotic from a store cupboard. That is absolutely ridiculous and takes advantage of people needing antibiotics.

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment with Harbinder this week and found the whole experience much better than expected. I'm a bit nervous about visiting the dentist but Harbinder was very reassuring and caring. Fantastic experience: Always feel like I get appropriate and suitable advice, and excellent treatment. Rebecca is a most pleasant and patient dentist. I recently had a problem with a wisdom tooth which had broken and become very painful. I was seen within a couple of days and a repair was effected. I'm now pain- free again!

Fantastic experience: It's probably true that no one would CHOOSE to spend 40 mins in the dentist's chair--but if you have to, Rebecca makes sure things are as comfortable as possible. I needed a filling replaced. Rebecca, as ever, explained clearly what needed to be done. The injection to numb the area was painless, and from then on, I just relaxed, and trusted Rebecca, ably assisted by Kelly, to get the job done. Rebecca then showed detailed pics of the area she'd worked on, which was fascinating, and helpful. Thanks, both for your kindness and professionalism.

Negative experience: The most important thing is that the quality of the dental care appears to be superb. However, the administrative side of the business is poor. They have gone “paperless” which means they have no printer at the surgery. This may sounds like a small point but, in fact, is a real issue. In my case I have had to return to the surgery on multiple occasions to simply get an invoice in order to make an insurance claim. Easily solved by getting a printer and doing it the old fashioned way!!!!

Negative experience: Have been well looked after in this practice for 25 years but never so much as since new owners took over. I'm an NHS patient and very grateful for that. G.M. I have had to come back and update my 5 star review from 8 months ago. I simply can no longer recommend this practices' business practices. I received a letter on 30th September announcing termination of all NHS treatments. It states clearly within and I quote "We will complete any ongoing NHS treatments already in progress and will be in touch about those. Just called to be told we can't do any NHS treatments under any circumstances as we don't have an NHS dentist! So why say so by letter? Worse still, in inviting me to join Denplan, it states "Denplan Care is also available at the practice. Monthly fees are determined by a FREE oral health assessment.." it goes on to invite enquiries. So I asked for the free assessment only to be told "We charge £52.00 for the free assessment I kid you knot. So 1 letter from source quoted back to reception contains two errors or deliberate obfuscations and/or misinformation! I don't think I have ever been asked serious money before for something the purveyor states in writing is free and I am in the long in the tooth department.

Negative experience: If it was possible I would give 0/5 been attending this dentist as a NHS patient since a very young age both myself and my whole family. Until I called up this week to ask about the NHS dentist after seeing a lot of of speculation on social media about them cutting off there NHS patient. Called up to ask and the support I received was little to none and when asking for clarity as I am waiting for my second visit to then be referred to get my wisdom tooth out ( after 4/5 years of the issue) I just got met with a hypocritical attitude from the receptionist, informing me that no one wants to be an NHS dentist, but I need to find a new one now. Alongside this, I tried to explain that I was unable to afford to now go private as for 26 years I have been an NHS patient, making sure I go twice a year and have all the correct dental procedures when I need too. In addition a couple of months ago I spoke to a member of staff and they re assured me that they was going to do everything they can to keep there NHS patients. Clearly this dentist practice has just planned to go private with its neighbouring practice in Buckingham. Can I just add it’s not the NHS situation it’s actually the lack or consideration or empathy for the patience that have been attending your surgery for over 20 years. And it’s funny how you say that but I’ve never had an information informing me until I called up asking for clarity and was greeted with a attutide as I can’t afford to be private.

Negative experience: So unhappy been there patient for years they are unbooking appointments my son's appointment has been canceled with very short cancelling all NHS appointments them as they now gone private and they just give you loads of excuses they told me on the phone that they selfishly did this as they've had over a year its disgusting treatment of children to not give them appointments lots of appointments available now so un happy and cross I will never use again what a joke guess this is the impact of 14 years of tories disgusting children are entitled to free dentists going private is wrong and unfair on hard working families as a single working parent how can I keep up with there stupid costs so unhappy

Negative experience: Not an enjoyable experience at all. I went for a Hygienest appointment and the lady wasn’t very friendly. I also had hold the water sucker and do all that because there was no nurse. I normally enjoy Hygienest appointments but this experience was far from this and this procedure was more painful that normal. Such a shame and will be going to find another dental practice sadly as this one missed the mark.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the "cupboard." We find it quite surprising that the size of the room would be more important to you than the exceptional care and expertise provided by Dr. Patel and our team.

To clarify, the room you referred to is specifically designed for wheelchair access, offering ample space and direct access from the front of the practice. If wheelchair patients have no issue navigating this room, it's perplexing (and shocking) that you would. There is a lot of thought that has gone into the design of this room, especially that there is no dental practice locally that allows for wheelchair access patients to directly park outside the premises.

It's rather disappointing that room size seems to outweigh the years of skill and dedication Dr. Patel and our highly trained team bring to our patients. We pride ourselves on providing top-tier dental care with state-of-the-art technology, including digital X-rays, AI technology (one of the first in the UK), digital scanners, and intraoral cameras. Surely, this is also something that should be recognised?

We hope you understand the true priority should be the quality of care you receive.

Perhaps in the future, your evaluations will reflect the comprehensive expertise and care we offer rather than the room dimensions.

Negative experience: I was nearly in tears when I left as my sensitive gums were pummelled by the hygienist I saw. She was a locum hygienist and her way of operating was not reflective of the surgery as a whole. The surgery is on the whole good, the reception staff are helpful, and their tech/booking/consent systems good, but they are struggling with staff because of the dental health issues affecting the country. It was not a pleasant last visit but I will see a different hygienist next time. The one that left was very good.

To clarify, by “struggling with staff,” we assume you’re referring to the difficulty in finding NHS dentists. Despite this, we have a dedicated team with many long-serving members, who offer private care. The state of the NHS dental contract has made it challenging to attract new NHS dentists, as many find the conditions unfavorable due to low wages and unnecessary targets.

As for our dental hygienists, all are highly trained and receive positive feedback, whether they are permanent or locum.

Positive experience: Really pleased with the treatment I received from the hygienist at the practice. Probably the best I have had. Extremely disappointed to be told whilst booking my next appointment that they can no longer offer NHS treatment for me and my family of 4 people. Have been here for years and will now have to join the masses of people who cannot get/find NHS treatment. Very sad day and I imagine the beginning of a very difficult journey to get affordable dental treatment.

Fantastic experience: Hygienist appointment was thorough. Harbinder was good and explained the benefits of AI that help analyse the X-rays. AI can be a bit over eager to recommend treatment but Harbinder has the final say so moderates sensibly to prevent overt quick treatment. All in all a great service.

Fantastic experience: As always, very friendly and polite staff throughout the practice. Rebecca checked my teeth, mouth and gums very thoroughly, took the time to show me on the screen, and explain the condition of my teeth, which I'm glad to say were fine. I had a tooth extracted last year, which proved to be a very difficult procedure. Rebecca was absolutely fantastic, giving me constant reassurance. I felt no pain, and I can honestly say, this lady is a first class dentist. Thank you, I would highly recommend this dental practice.

Fantastic experience: I started going to Lion House several years ago. My teeth were in a terrible state as I hadn’t been to the dentist for years after a bad experience at another practice. Fantastic experience: I went to the Huguenots and was disappointed as the lady really pushed for me to have something I didn’t want and then tried to charge me an big extra charge when she had not mentioned the difference in price. The lady in the office however was very good and she waved the additional charge.

Positive experience: I needed to have a large filling replaced and it was done straight away. I asked if the procedure could be explained to me as it went along as I find this makes it more interesting and removes some of the ‘fear of the unknown’ for me. My dentist was brilliant! All done and dusted in less than half an hour with no need for an injection so no dribbling afterwards! Aftercare was fully explained and I’m now smiling with confidence again.

Negative experience: Had an emergency appointment and was given good advice in a courteous professional manner. However I need a broken tooth extracted which can only be done by the practice owner this has resulted in a very long wait ( over 4 weeks). Although not in pain atm I am in discomfort due to sore gums and earache caused by the roots. I am expecting that things will get worse before my appointment. As a private patient and having to pay in full upfront I don’t feel this is acceptable.

Positive experience: I was called for my regular 6 monthly check up.i arrived a few minutes early but had to wait for 15minutes so assume a previous patient had taken longer than the appointed time. John was quick and efficient and once called in I was checked and out in around 5 minutes.

Your receptionist was most helpful and understanding and Harbinda dealt with the problem with an x ray very effeciently and pleasantly and prescribed antibiotics.
