Fantastic experience: A quite exceptional dental practice. Staff are cheerful , helpful and adaptable to treatment and scheduling requirements. Complete transparency on cost implications and to the best of my knowledge are cost competitive with other private sector providers. I have no hesitation on staying with them for my future requirements.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to the company that owns The Smile Rooms Dental & Implant Clinic. I wouldn’t recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, efficient Katie along with reception area gentleman in getting a same day emergency appointment for a wobbly tooth. Then, professional ,caring dentist Safoora and assistant staff always providing a first class customer experience.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with my visit. Was told I needed 4k worth of work, which if I did then fair enough. Went to another local dentist for a second opinion to be told I didn't need anywhere near that much work. Really disappointing that a local practice is taking advantage. Not once in the consultation was I asked about how much I can afford or if there were any other options. Dentist seemed uninterested and unhelpful which is shame when they expect you to pay so much. I would suggest saving your money for a other local practice and not be a few hundred pounds down just to be overcharged.

Fantastic experience: I’m a 72yrs old very nervous patient, years of NHS dentist in school clinics made my like this. In the past I’ve had to have sedation before any treatment. I’ve been with the Smile Rooms since I moved to Malton 3yrs ago. I go to appointments on my own - never heard of before - even for check ups. ‘Saffy’ the Dentist and Grace my hygienist have built up my trust with them, always very professional but very friendly. Thank you all the team including the receptionist who greets you with a genuine smile.

Fantastic experience: Great visit as always to the Smile Rooms! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The lady on reception was very calm and relaxed making people feel important and at ease. Nice to have the magazines to read and music playing too whilst you wait.

Negative experience: My experience was not as a long term client for the following reasons. Whilst I was treated respectfully by the dentist, the business aspect was not explained openly at all. I had to labour away over numerous phone calls and visits before a) any work was 'actually' undertaken and b) I'd discovered that not only was there a parent company, but that this same company always increase the monthly membership policy every 12 months as a standard MO. Within weeks of signing up for the DPAS agreement, my dentist suggested unnecessary 'airflow' hygienist treatment over and above the standard 2x a year (under policy), and my monthly payments rocketted from £23 to £35 a month suddenly, in addition to having already paid £252 for an overdue replacement filling with a pending quote of £752 for a root canal. As a professional with an excellent income, if a client of mine had treated me like a cash cow, or undisclosed vital financial information, I would feel extremely manipulated. The woman writing quotes should have explained everything before taking any money. The replacement filling incidentally, was average after huge amounts of fuss to reach the stage of getting it done, and its proud and high in my mouth leaving me unable to bite correctly. BE CAREFUL. HANG ONTO YOUR MONEY UNTIL YOUK NOW EVERYRHING, because the Smile Room + partners are all about MONEY MONEY MONEY!!

Fantastic experience: Just had a complex filling. I'm not a nervous patient but I can really see that the dentist still treated me with the utmost care. My welfare was checked methodically and she worked diligently and methodically. I felt at complete ease and really could have fallen asleep during the procedure. Very high level of compassion, care and decent work.

Fantastic experience: As someone who is anxious about the dentist, this was the perfect place for me. Every single member of staff, from the receptionists to the dentist (Dr Lise Woodward) and dental nurse, was friendly, welcoming and reassuring. Lise was efficient and took the time to explain everything to me in a way that reduced my fears. I would 100% recommend this practice and am so glad this is where I will have my future dental appointments.

Taking time to explain what is to happen, offering me options, plus listening to my general dental concerns, Lise was brilliant in reassuring me and discussing pros & cons around different ideas. As a result I will go for regular check ups & see the benefits to my health.

Fantastic experience: This clinic is all about the beautiful smiles. The minute I walked in the reception had warm smiles and were very welcoming. The environment and atmosphere was clean, modern and perfectly equipped. Dr Safoora Sahab (Safh) done my treatment. I have had lots of dental treatments in other places but Safh’s expertise is a league of its own. She’s very gentle yet highly skilled. I was made so comfortable by her and Gracie that I literally did not want to leave. The results were beyond my expectations and I would recommend this place 100%.

Fantastic experience: The reception team, that morning Sam and Hannah, were polite and welcoming with their greeting and looked ater me in the way I am delighted to say I am always welcomed. They disengage from the computer to speak to you, eye contact plays a massive part of a good welcome. The practice is warm, clean, has ample seating and most importantly has plenty of light. Another successful visit.

Negative experience: I'm disappointed... I paid almost 60 pounds for my 4-year-old girl, who was in pain just to talk for 5 minutes, to recommend another clinic in York. The doctor said she had nothing to do with her... so... what did I give her the money for?

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist from the start to the finish. The receptionist Sarah is very welcoming and very efficient. Kerry the dental hygienist is amazing ,my teeth are always sparkling after her treatment. Last but most certainly not least ,the wonderful dentist Catherine Tannerfield,a true expert in her field. Both my wife and l have been a client of Catherine’s for many years,we would not trust any one else with our teeth. We cannot recommend this dentist highly enough. Negative experience: Was with them for a few years as a private patient. Monthly premiums increase massively above inflation once you sign up though. My £850 inlay lasted 10 months then broke away leaving a £250 surgical extraction, the new dentist I got did a better job and seemed good but I left when they decided to stop children on the NHS

Positive experience: Been using this dentist for several years, but very unhappy with my last visit. I told them that I needed a filling replaced, but the first visit cost £70 and merely confirmed that I needed a filling replaced, so that was a waste of time and money. Waited a month for the work to be done and the quality of work was amateurish. Went back for remedial work but still have a filling which traps food. I simply don’t like the system they have of using a dentist to do the initial assessment, and then less skilled staff to do the actual work. It’s should be the reverse, but I feel they are putting profits ahead of the quality of care. I’m not going back.

Fantastic experience: I became a new patient at The Smile Rooms in July and have been really impressed with the service and care. I had an initial appointment with Lise, who was very thorough, explained everything to me clearly and set out a reasonable treatment plan. Unfortunately I needed a root canal and, ultimately, an extraction when the root canal wasn't possible because the tooth was cracked. I was referred to Asad who was also fantastic. I was very nervous at the start of the appointment but he was kind and patient in explaining everything to me. When it became clear the tooth couldn't be saved, he extracted it quickly and easily. I felt confident in the knowledge and skills of the dentists and dental nurses at all times. I would definitely recommend The Smile Rooms to others.

Negative experience: It just felt like I was being sold to throughout the whole consultation and it was more about making money than my actual welfare.

Negative experience: The dentist and nurse were lovely and were knowledgeable but I came out feeling bankrupt and was very upset. I paid £55 before I even went in and another £62 when I left for them to tell me I need £1800 worth of treatment, a set of antibiotics and I had no treatment in my appointment. I will not be returning as it’s over priced and my whole family used to come here and have all been previously been ripped off. I would not recommend to anyone unless they have a spare £2k.

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice & welcoming. If I’m perfectly honest I did think that the decor could be refreshed & my apt was running 20 mins late, which I didn’t mind, but if I had plans this would have been more difficult for me & someone only told me after 15mins that this was the case. Just things I would expect from private healthcare. I would recommend however as currently I find the NHS dental service very lacking!

Positive experience: Whilst your service is very good- Assad & his assistant took very good care of me. I am very disappointed in the excessive fees you are charging. I had a RCT last year -£409 (Which I thought was expensive) This one £580 - 30% dearer?? I realise there is a cost to private health care but I feel I have been "somewhat ripped off" I will unfortunately be looking to move dental practices in the near future

Fantastic experience: I have just had my wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Luke Staves and I am literally smiling because it was such an amazing experience. Luke is very friendly and warm- makes you feel very comfortable. His anaesthesia was extraordinary - completely painless and extremely effective. The extraction itself (which was a tricky extraction with the tooth having curved roots ) was done in a matter of minutes in the most atraumatical way possible and again completely pain free! I am a dentist myself and I highly recommend Dr Staves. Very happy after finally getting this extraction done after being troubled by this tooth for a long time.
