Fantastic experience: Had my appointment with Vanshika Patel for 2 teeth to be extracted. She was warm, kind, friendly & put me at ease as I don’t like needles in my mouth. The experience wasn’t as daunting as I thought it would be & I think this was down to Vanshika with her friendly manner. Positive experience: The whole family is registered at the practice. Clean and bright premises. Staff are friendly, caring and professional. We have had a few different dentists at the practice as we are a larger family and have had no issues at all. We have also had to make emergency appointments during our time at the practice and have manged to be seen the same day or within 24hrs.

Fantastic experience: I go to this dentist and signed my son as well because I really like the experience with Shiny Ashel DSA. She is so lovely, and very gentle with the procedures she carries out. Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment today at Downing Dental after a month being in horrendous pain . I saw Ajay , not only is he extremely professional, he was very kind and empathetic and dealt with the problem there and then as he made time for me . Also the lovely nurse who was making me feel better and reassured me . Also the receptionists too as they got me in to see him asap . Fantastic experience: I'm always very anxious at the dentist. I especially find the hygienist appts unpleasant, after a particularly traumatic experience at 76 Dental in Water Orton! The hygienist at Downing Dental was excellent and she did her best to be as gentle as possible. I also highly recommend Vanshika Patel. Vanshika is so welcoming and calming, something that's so important to me. She recently prepared my tooth for a crown and fitted the crown today, 4/11/25. I was feeling nervous beforehand but she was reassuring and made sure it was pain free and not as daunting as I initially thought it would be. Highly recommend 5

Negative experience: Place is so squashed to move around in, tiny waiting area. No response at all from business for reason I attended. Staff looked exhausted no energy vibe and all I heard while I was waited was how many calls were made to say sorry we missed your call...

Negative experience: The front-of-house staff are wonderfully polite and cheerful. However, this positive first impression does not make up for the ineffective treatment I've received from the NHS dentists here. A friendly smile means very little when you are dealing with overwhelming pain. I have visited three times for the same tooth, and the severe pain has not subsided. I have now been living with this exhausting pain for three weeks, and it's making my life miserable. The only steps taken were an X-ray which revealed nothing and a quick camera check which also found nothing. Each time, a temporary "remedy" in the form of a paste was applied, and I was sent away. If you are in severe pain and need a real solution, I would personally advise you to look elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Just like to say a big thank you to ajay and his team for the work carried out recently. Bridges and crowns which was quite intense but was done with efficiency and professionalism and always with my care upmost. The new teeth has given me a massive lift in confidence, this smile really is a smile of happiness so thank again ajay.

Fantastic experience: I undertook invisible aligner treatment with Downing Dental and I am thrilled with the results. From the initial consultation to the completion of my treatment, the service from Venay and the team has been excellent. After having braces as a teenager, I was unsure about how much of a difference further treatment could make, but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. I am no longer self-conscious of my smile and the improvement of the overcrowding of my teeth makes it a lot easier to maintain my oral hygiene. The composite bonding Venay applied gave my new smile a really natural finish. I’d highly recommend the team at Downing Dental.

Negative experience: I'm an NHS patient at this dentist for many years. I choose to remain NHS as I cannot afford extortionate dental fees. I had a routine appointment with Meena two weeks ago and was asked if I wanted to see someone else. I said no as I like Meena who is always kind and patient with me. My appointment was rebooked for last week, a week later. However, I didn't see Meena but someone new. If I spent more than 5 minutes in the room that would be generous and most of that time was spent justifying why I hadn't flossed that week and why I wouldn't see the hygienist. To be honest, I'm still really angry with this newbie I was forced on to and the appointment a waste of time -- she spent 2 minutes tops looking at my teeth and for that you pay over £27! I know dentists dislike NHS work as they consider it underpaid, but without the NHS, many people would (and did in the pandemic) simply not get any work done. I don't feel like a valued patient but a guinea pig for the latest NHS recruitment at the practice. My parents paid a lot for my teeth when I was a child, but the service you got then versus now you can't compare, I can only hope moving forwards that my wishes are listened and adhered to.

Negative experience: It was my 1st appointment at Downing Dental. I saw an Asian dentist. She judged me for the way my teeth were,which I felt embarrassed and shameful. I'm an NHS patient. I was expected to pay for them to clean my teeth and hygienist. Not a check up. Which I thought was weird. I claim universal credit and I don't expect to pay for my dental treatments,like my other dentist it was free. My daughter came aswell for a check up. The dentist put some gel on her teeth,which wasn't authorised by myself. I had to ask what she was doing. Unfortunately we won't be coming back as I was not a nice experience.

Negative experience: EDITED TO CORRECT SPELLING MISTAKES- THIS REVIEW WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN IN 2023. Abysmal practice. Keeps patients waiting for appointments with no explanation at all. Surely it’s just basic common courtesy to let patients know if they’re running behind? Other patients who were waiting with me commented on this as well. I had an appointment yesterday to have a filling done. I have cerebral palsy and find it difficult to go up and down stairs. Downing knew this as I’ve been a patient for years. However, they put me in an upstairs room! This resulted in me not being able to have the treatment that I needed, which is unacceptable. They blamed this on a trainee who had booked my appointment and who apparently hadn’t read my records. Unbelievable! I complained to the practice manager, who just made excuses and said that ‘lessons will be learned’. This is the second complaint I have made about their customer service! Surely they would have learnt those lessons by now? I had no time for him and the practice after that. There are loads of practices in the area who will treat you so much better.

Negative experience: Was told they don’t have any dentist qualified enough to do a root canal on nhs and tried blagging £500 out of me to see a specialist to save my tooth. Went to better dentist who has no problems with doing. BE CAUTIOUS THESE PEOPLE ARE DAY LIGHT ROBBING YOU ALL! they would rather let you suffer & pull your teeth out than help & actually do ANY WORK are they actually qualified??? my teeth have been neglected over the past several years due to them always wanting money to help save my smile. WHY BOTHER TAKING NHS PATIENTS IF YOU ARE JUST GOING TO SWINGLE THEM & NOT HELP. Thanks for all the temporary fillings that have fallen out PURE NEGLECT VENNAY
Fantastic experience: Was rather nervous about having a tooth removed (with high breakage risk) but Dr Jami and Rachel were lovely, so kind and reassuring. Lots of pressure on Dr Jami to get the tooth out whole and she did a brilliant job. I can't speak highly enough about these two ladies, and also the reception staff too. Been with Downing Dental for years but for me the current staff are superb and I would thoroughly recommend them and the practice.
Fantastic experience: After having bad experiences with dentists in the past I have become very nervous about going, but I registered with Downing Dental for necessary work to be done. What an amazing practice! The receptionists were lovely and I was treated by Dr Jami and nurse Emily who were both kind and understanding yet efficient, I was filled with confidence (although it took a while for the nervous shaking to stop). My tooth was taken out so quickly I couldn’t quite believe it! I can’t recommend Dr Jami and Downing Dental highly enough especially for a nervous patient.
Negative experience: I had two fillings done here five months ago, but the filling material kept coming off. I had to return for four follow-up visits, yet they charged me extra each time. The most shocking part was that one time, the filling fell out the very next day after the treatment. The issue was never properly resolved. The service quality seems unreliable, and the clinic does not take responsibility for their work. I won’t be coming back.

However Venay over the years has always been professional, friendly and made every effort to make sure I was comfortable and at ease. With the Dental Implants, Venay explained every part of the process clearly and during the procedure on both occasions was careful to make sure I was comfortable, placing the implants perfectly. Venay takes great care for the Patient's (his customer's) well being and recovery following the procedure. It has already made a big difference with my first replacement tooth and the second one in three months will I am sure improve further. Negative experience: I came to have my tooth extracted through nhs, didn't manage to take it out spent all evening after mouth full of blood and passed out. Ended up having to go to hospital emergency dentist to fix the problems they had caused. Can see I'm the x ray photo they hadn't took out the whole tooth.

Negative experience: Downing dental is nothing short of a disaster. They not only blatantly overcharged me, disregarding NHS bands, but also managed to provide me with a poorly fitted crown that led to a painful tooth infection. The receptionist's unfriendly attitude was just the cherry on top, and the absurd 3-week wait for an emergency appointment was nothing short of appalling. This experience has been a complete letdown, avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: As an extremely nervous patient and not seeing a dentist for 10years+ I have never felt more comfortable, listened to and supported during my visits here. ALL staff are wonderful, in particular Dr Mina, her lovely assistant and the X2 wonderful receptionists. I cannot fault their compassion and work ethic. Each time I’ve come in I’ve been quite embarrassed at the work I need doing but I am always explained well to, welcomed, made to laugh (even got a sticker and a free hug for being brave.. 30 going on 8 ). The treatments I’ve had so far (Hygienist & Fillings) have been seamless & wonderful. Everything is fully explained and I’ve been allowed to go at my own pace. I have a journey ahead still with treatments and I’m starting to feel so much confident in having better oral health. Would recommend this dentist to anybody. Truly wonderful ❤️

Fantastic experience: I have been using downing dental for just over 6 years now and it had all started with a consultation with Venay as I wasn’t happy with the general health of my teeth. I felt much more confident about the end result after this consultation as Venay had went through everything in great detail, After looking through the options we decided Invisalign would be the best fit for me and started on this quite soon after. Around 12 months later the final Invisalign was done and I was extremely happy with the result even though we still hadn’t finished! Venay then applied composite bonding to a few teeth which just made a world of difference, I wasn’t expecting the end result to look anywhere near as good as they did! We finished with a scale and polish and this was the end of my treatment. Following on from this I’ve then had what you would consider normal dental procedures; Fillings, Check ups etc But I’m always happy with how things are, Id recommend Downing dental (Venay - AJ) to anybody! Fantastic dentists.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic dentistry to register and take youngsters (having registered myself several years ago) - registered one day and was given an appointment for the next. My son was examined by Jamina who was patient and painstaking and extremely good at communicating all of our options. Fantastic experience: as soon as I telephoned this practice, I knew it was the place for me, the receptionists were so cheery and helpful that even though going to the dentist isn’t one of my favourite past times, I was sure that I would be a ease. when I saw Hamza the dentist, he was so charming and gentle, being 80 years old, I don’t have quite as much courage as I used to, and he managed to make me totally relax. Fantastic experience: Absolutely wonderful dental practice. Needed help with Abcess & extraction @ start of CV. Helped me within 1 hr. Took tooth out and it was instant relief from pain. Year later needed 1/2 a tooth extracted & lovely new dentist referred me to Leamington Spa private Spa & the dentist there was fantastic. I’ve been frightened of dental procedures all my life. Had a bad experience at Birmingham Dental Hospital aged 10. But these two places look after you so well! Thank you so much for everything!

Fantastic experience: I can only say that Dr AJay , his advise and the treatment I've had so far has been very professional in both the medical and administration side of the Downing Dental Group. I'm 70 years old and a pensioner with a fear of dentistry work and always held off as long as possible with other dental practice until going to Downing Dental who Dr AJay explains all treatment options without feeling being pressured. Unfortunately being a pensioner rising dental treatment costs are a big issue regarding finance but as were now live in Wales where getting NHS treatment in now near on impossible Im more that happy to travel to Downing Dental Group to have NHS treatment and with kindly reminders when I need a checkup to suit me. Fantastic experience: Dr Jamini is fantastic and made my toddler feel very comfortable during his first dentist appointment. Within a few seconds she turned tears into giggles and wish we found a dentist like her sooner. The receptionists also had to be the loveliest at any dental surgery I’ve ever been to.
