Positive experience: The initial examination I received as a private patient was great, very professional. They do try to sell you extras mind, but nothing too hard. However, they cancelled the Hygienist appointment I had to follow up three times! No real excuse, something about not having onboarded new Dentists or something. Basically a load of nonsense. For that reason I left them and went elsewhere. You can’t pay private prices and be treated like regular NHS otherwise what’s the point in paying for both.
Fantastic experience: My appointment went really well, everything was explained to me. I have booked my nexts appointment for Monday 14/7/25

Negative experience: Appointment was for 11.10 . Not seen till 11 55. Don't mind 10 mins or so, but as I'm sure other have to take time off work . If we turned up half an hour late we would have to pay and probably not be seen. This is not the first time this has happened.

Fantastic experience: I'm from out of town, I was seen as an NHS patient within 2 hours of as an emergency due to toothache/ abscess. I couldn't fault the service.

Fantastic experience: My experience is good but a bit nervous I don't know what to expect bcoz my first time to have dentist appointment. But at the end absolutely fine, just a bit expensive for my opinion. And also, I have a lots of questions about my teeth, but there's not enough time to ask the hygienist. Negative experience: On Sunday, 08/06/2025, my son suffered a traumatic dental injury, fracturing his upper left central incisor vertically and permanently. I immediately brought him to Damira Dental Practice in Basingstoke, where the attending dentist applied a temporary protective covering and advised that the tooth would be reconstructed at the following appointment, and in the future would need a crown. This appointment was ok. We returned on Tuesday, 24th June, for the permanent composite restoration. However, I was extremely disappointed and concerned with the quality of care provided. The restored incisor is visibly shorter and not aligned with the adjacent upper right central incisor, resulting in an unprofessional appearance. The restoration looks poorly shaped and not coloured- the dentist said it will blend with time—this outcome is not acceptable, as it is his front tooth. When I questioned the result, I was told it was left shorter "to avoid it breaking again," despite the clear understanding that the tooth will eventually require a full crown due to the nature of the trauma. This rationale is not only inadequate but also dismissive of the importance of both dental function, especially for a young patient. I am extremely frustrated and upset by this experience. As a parent, I expect a standard of care that prioritises the structural integrity and appearance of such a critical anterior tooth. The current result is distressing, as shown in the attached photograph, and does not reflect the level of professionalism or quality that your clinic advertises, even if it is NHS.

Fantastic experience: Trip to dentist to have the small root canal treatment in a front tooth. I wouldn't have thought possible, however Minty was absolutely fantastic tooth saved and looks great, so happy and not much pain the next day.

Fantastic experience: Had to add to this as I needed a 111 emergency appointment for an abscess, I was booked in with David the dentist & he was so understanding and listened to everything I had to say and answered all my questions. I cannot fault this clinic, the staff will and have gone beyond to get me sorted and it's not the 1st time, highly recommend to anyone needing dental work especially if you're nervous. I also wanted to thank Sam on reception (call centre I'm not sure which), I was in a bit of a state when I called & Sam managed to sort out appointments & generally calm me down, he was really proficient, understanding and went out of his way to help me get my appointment & sort my son too. He was really patient & even made me laugh (after 2days of crying in pain that was huge to me) What a Star! Thank you so much see you next week for my appointment.

Negative experience: Originally had an nhs appointment that had to be rescheduled they rebooked it as a private appointment without informing me.. had to have a tooth out already £90 then went ahead and charged another £220 l. When tried to explain was told they had no nhs emergency appointments there was a waiting list ?! Yet I managed to book it online under nhs. So unhelpful.

I hate the dentist but he took time to explain the procedure and go from there, all the time checking I was okay and comfortable. Fantastic experience: I had struggled to find any dentist taking on NHS patients for my three children after moving. We found Damira South Ham and managed to get an appointment by booking online. The process was simple and we didn’t have to wait months like other practices - we booked a week ahead. When we arrived for the appointments, the receptionist was very friendly and we were only waiting five minutes before being called. As our three children had their appointments back to back, we did see two different dentists. However, they were both wonderful with our children and really relaxed them. Both dentists were very informative, friendly, and we came away feeling happy and relieved. Brilliant first impressions!

Fantastic experience: Had a large piece of plaque come off and have not been to dentist for years. Kept catching tongue on the ragged plaque. Got an appointment the next day. The wonderful lady did a brilliant job. Not just the ragged plaque gone, all the plaque in my mouth gone. Felt amazing.

Dr. Sungur was professional, kind, and very patient with my daughter, making her feel completely at ease during the appointment. He explained everything clearly and answered all our questions with care. It’s not easy to find a dentist who is both highly skilled and genuinely compassionate — we feel lucky to have found him. Fantastic experience: Very reluctant to go to the dentist... they petrify me... I have to say the dentist i saw was awesome!!! Osama is very professional friendly and really puts you at ease. Having 7 extractions in 10 days I can honestly say I'm amazed at how quickly and confidently he removed my teeth!!! I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm looking forward to the nxt 3 extractions but I'm not longer petrified thanks to Osama top guy in my book. And a massive thank you.

Negative experience: The dentist who actually removed teeth was fantastic and would have been given 5 stars if not for the abysmal ‘customer service’ over the last 4 weeks, particularly involving the prescription which was printed on an A4 piece of paper. It’s not the correct document, they gave me the same thing twice which the pharmacy refused to accept and then after 2 hours of waiting gave me the right form with no stamp so I had to go back again. Rude, inefficient staff who have no concept of the meaning of customer service

Positive experience: All the staff at South Ham are very helpful and my overall experience of visiting for treatment has been very good. However, this is let down by their laboratory contractor with errors, long waiting times and their mediocre work. Which although of a reasonable quality, is not exceptional and the standard you would expect for the cost of private treatment. I have had better lab work done at other dentists over years, without prompting corrections. The practice need to do more to promote higher standards of cosmetic work, if they expect to charge premium prices. The value for money is questionable.

Negative experience: Once again I had to wait over 40 minutes for my appointment as the Dentist was running late. Once again when I asked the receptionist if the Dentist was on time she replied saying “she is just 10minutes behind”. Once again it cost me £27 and I was in the dentist’s chair for less than 4 minutes. Once again I left annoyed and frustrated.

Negative experience: Avoid, constant issues with appointments. Actual treatment and dentists are fine, but the way it's run is awful. If it were easy to get an NHS dentist I would leave in an instant.....even considering going privately!

Positive experience: Running late for no obvious reason. Reception not very helpful. Called in 25 minutes late for a (literal) 3 minute "peek-see" and a "keep up the good work".

Fantastic experience: My 1st visit I can only say I had an excellent experience the dentist I saw explained the treatment to me and she was friendly and I felt very comfortable with her and the dental nurse . At my 2nd visit I had to have impressions done and as I have a gagging problem I was very nervous, but with the help of my dentist and nurse it went smoothly. They were very patient and as for the Xray that was fun .

Fantastic experience: Got there for my appointment at 7.45am for an 8.00am appointment but was late actually getting in as the doctors surgery below didn’t unlock the door till after 8.00 so no fault of mine or the dental surgery. As ever friendly, helpful & efficient receptionist who welcomed me straight away. Kate my dental surgeon and her nurse LOVELY gentle and never recommends unnecessary work, which is brilliant ! Never had any issues with Kate or her nurses, always gentle and explains everything. I travel from Surrey although a bit of a trek, wouldn’t go anywhere else ! Negative experience: Had a hygienist appointment and was in and out in under 10 minutes! Greeted by a receptionist chewing gum then into the chair where I felt like I was on a conveyor belt where the dentist had to rush as there must have been someone else directly behind me. No cleaning given just a rush which caused quite a bit of discomfort. Really disappointed as I had a good experience with a previous dentist who took plenty of time and also polished my teeth. I guess you get what you pay for but I won’t be doing it again.

Fantastic experience: I am registered with Damira as an NHS patient for years. A big part one of my molar tooth broke off around 17:00 on Thursday afternoon. I called Damira for an emergency appointment. I was told there is no emergency appointment available until a week later. The lovely receptionist told me that she is trying to find an earlier appointment for me and will call me back with an update. She called me back 20 minutes later and said that she found an appointment for me. I was seen by the dentist at 19:25 on the same day. This was a very positive experience with them. Thank you !

Negative experience: had an appointment 30/04 at 6pm, was still waiting at 6:30, finally called to see the dentist at 6:35 only to be told the procedure could not be completed as they had lost the replacement tooth! had to make another appointment and have the mold taken again to have the tooth remade. when i called to make the appointment was advised there would be an additional charge! could not believe it! not very good service

Fantastic experience: Needed emergency dental treatment and 111 booked me in here. The dentist Mr Faisal Hussain was amazing. An accident had meant my front 2 teeth were impacted and one had broken in half - so painful. The dentist explained what was going to happen, the temporary solution and what would happen latterly when I visited my own dentist. He ensured throughout the process, I was pain free. Negative experience: 8am/8.10am for kids appointment on Easter Sunday, got to the appointment ontime. 8.23am asked the receptionist if there is an issue we haven't been seen. I got told the dentist was stuck in traffic. Hard to believe as it is supposed to be a better traffic situation given the day and time. Disappointed that the receptionist didn't see it fit to pre inform us of the delay before I asked. Unfortunately can't attend Easter Church service as I had planned. Thanks for nothing.

Negative experience: Disaster! I went there with an emergency over a week ago. The issue I told them about was a bottom right tooth. I was told that there was a bigger issue with the top one though. They suggested a filling replacement for few weeks and then check-up. Yes, they did say that I would most likely need a root canal treatment eventually but in few months time, not few days later! I'm in pain since that day. I went there again just to hear that I can have root canal done or have it extracted. They gave me a prescription for antibiotics and that was it! This was not even the first time I had issues there. I went there last year just to hear that my teeth are good and there was a problem with gums... I had to go abroad to have it done properly. That tooth required filling. Never again! Think twice before you go there

Fantastic experience: An absolutely amazing dentist, Souroush. I won't let anyone touch my teeth again, except this man. He is simply the best. After suffering for years with infections and then having to have extraction after extraction, sobbing all the time, low self esteem, spending a fortune on every product for cleaning teeth, becoming obsessed with the thought of losing more teeth, I went to this dentist, Souroush. He is patient, totally understanding, gentle, actually listens, advises brilliantly, gives you time and is genuinely sympathetic. Chatting about my needs and how Iow I was feeling, together, we came up with a plan and I am so, so elated with the outcome. My smile is 'me' and this lovely man has given it back to me. Can't thank him enough. Also a mention to the receptionists, they too are brilliant. They are friendly and welcoming and know their stuff. So glad I came to Demira. Thank you x

Negative experience: If you’re looking for a dentist who treats you like a practice dummy and livestock, Damira is the place to go. I had two injections—both incredibly painful, like the dentist was trying to drill into my skull rather than numb a tooth. After the filling, he shoved the curing light into my mouth with so much force, it felt like he was using me as a table. The suction barely worked—I nearly choked. And when I struggled, he just said, “You should raise your hand if you need to spit.” Thanks for the sympathy. If your idea of great dental care includes pain, poor communication, and feeling like a burden, then congratulations—you’ve found your happy place. I, however, will be taking my teeth (and what's left of my patience) elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: This is a very busy practice although the staff are always friendly and helpful. The dentists are all very professional and calming also. Just had some root canal work done and my dentist explained everything in detail and was great at settling my nerves beforehand.

Positive experience: Most dentists I have seen over the years have been pleasant and professional. However, having made an appointment for 8am, the first of the day, I did expect to be the first patient and be seen on time not 35 minutes late. Also it is very difficult to get through to speak to someone on the phone. I gave up after hanging on for more than 10 minutes. Not all appointment options are available on line. I was asked by my dentist to make a follow up appointment to have a crown fitted in 2 weeks but nothing available for 2 months! Ridiculous!

Negative experience: I've been registered with this dentist for quite few years now has I've not been in 3 years has I didn't need to has my teeth have been fine since not going to check ups . Has every time went check up I'd come out feel pain . Plus I've not had any texts or phone calls from these in years now I called to change number guess what I've been replaced by illegal now I've got wait years to get another dentist. I personally think dentist are a waste of time and scam . Please stay away from this dentist has there not very good and staff are not nice .

Positive experience: Treatment is good. Communication less so. For instance, I'm in the middle of treatment to have a crown fitted. It takes a number of appointments. It would be good to be told at the beginning, "There will be X appointments; the first will do Y and will take Z minutes; the second will do A and will take B minutes, etc." Otherwise when you have to take time off work, you don't know when you'll be back. There can be a big difference between a 10 minute appointment that happens on time and a 30 minute appointment that starts 15 minutes late (as mine did). Yesterday the dentist asked me if I wanted "numbing", but hadn't explained what he was going to do and I had to ask in order to make an informed decision. Also I'd booked for 08:30. They are very good at sending reminders, but when I checked the latest I saw that it was now for 08:40. There had been no direct communication that the time had changed, nor anyone asking whether that was still convenient.

Fantastic experience: I went in for an emergency appointment.I was in alot of pain.Dentist was brilliant he took the tooth out which was causing the problem this was a wisdom tooth.It was out within minutes with only a little discomfort.Overall was a great service appointment fees with the independent dentists are also fairly priced if you are in need of dental treatment but are worried about the cost.

Positive experience: For the second time, having booked a 8am appointment, it was 20 mins before I was called in. Don't make 8am appointments if you can't accommodate these.

Fantastic experience: The service I received yesterday was amazing . The receptionist were lovely and friendly. The dentist Mr Recep Songur was so welcoming, friendly and caring and professional at all times.His assistant was very friendly and caring too. In resent visits I have not experienced the same unfortunately. So pleased the dental practice has improved . Please keep up the great service.
