First tooth out in my entire adult life so was very nervous but the dentist was great, very professional and friendly, explained everything clearly and involved in the treatment. I won’t lie it did hurt but dentist explained the infection meant it was hard for the anaesthetic to take. I’m very pleased to have found these dentists.

Negative experience: I was 5 mins early for my appointment at 9am, after travelling just over an hour, only to be called in to see the dentist at 9.25am.

Fantastic experience: Saw the hygienist today. She recommended i book for previously discussed root canal work on a troublesome tooth. I’ll be having it done next week. The staff are friendly and helpful and have put me at ease about something I’m not looking forward to UPDATE: great help regarding my being registered with a payment plan for forthcoming treatment Update 24/02/25. Had the tooth extracted rather than root canal. I was terribly nervous owing to a previous distressing experience at another dentist. The procedure was almost painless. I have a few further extractions before I can have some bridge work done. 24/03/25. Dr Ming extracted a wisdom tooth. The procedure was almost painless. 27/03/25 another painless procedure by Dr Ming. Not long until all is done. 5 01/04/2025 had another problem tooth removed. It was a stubborn one but okay. As usual pretty painless 5 Update: final two extractions today 6th June. A tricky procedure but I was expecting it. So far I’m fine six hours later apart from a bit of aching

Negative experience: We booked a family appointment, instead the reception team spread the appointments across 90 minutes though as they were running late this turned into 110 minutes. Appointments themselves lasted 2-3 minutes per person. The check was minimal and afterwards the clinicians made a hard sell for private treatment rather than NHS. Dentists were room hopping and that made appointments even later when a dentist was free but no room was available for them to do checks in. Been with this practice for years but it's becoming run down.

Negative experience: Phone call made to practice 30/05 /25 Wanting to speak with the Manager, have not received a call back re final fitting of denture,which on arrival for this appointment only to be told denture not there or mislaid from lab.

Negative experience: Poor experience, attended for a check up and didn’t even have all my teeth checked as the lady I saw was solely focused on getting me to book in for airflow cleaning and was quite pushy when I wasn’t available on the dates she was free. Wasn’t interested in looking at my teeth after this and I was in the chair less than 2 minutes. This experience has put me off returning

Positive experience: Contacted on day of appointment stating my appointment time had changed. Got out of work early to then wait 25 minutes for my appointment. Felt appointment was more about selling additional services ( which i didnt need) rather than checking teeth.

Negative experience: Went in for routine check up (£27.50 on the NHS band 1) and was charged over £75! “Apparently I needed a deep clean”which is only covered in band 2 - how convenient when I never asked for a deep clean. You get a standard clean in band 1. You need to make it very clear you only want an NHS band 1 check up - don’t get ripped off like I have!

After hearing many negative stories about root canal procedures, I was pleasantly surprised to find that my experience was completely different—I felt no pain at all! Daniel and his assistant were fantastic; they put me at ease right away and performed the procedure flawlessly. I wholeheartedly recommend Barrow Dental Aesthetics and will definitely return for all my dental needs.

Negative experience: Was sat 45 after my appointment time to be seen. A call in before my appointment would have been nice telling me to come later if they were behind.

Positive experience: Unlike my last appointment, (see previous review), this one was super quick! I barely had to wait at all. I saw Kay and she was lovely. Very gentle, explained everything clearly and gave good advice on future care. Would be 5 stars but for the “card payment only” policy.

Negative experience: When I arrived the dentist could be seen accessing his phone. I was ushered in to the surgery 10 minutes late and he asked what I would like him to do. I would have thought he would have found out beforehand. When I advised him he went out of the room then came back and said he had consulted the implant team and was not qualified to do the procedure I was booked in for. This is very poor practice. No apologies were offered A zero,rating as there is no way to give a negative

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking from your receptionist I asked a few weeks ago to book me in for dentist not hygienist this receptionist books me for hygienist for today at 10:30am which was meant for dentist, I could have blown my top at this lot today with their service I told them I can't bring my daughter with me in may as she's having a major operation now I'm waiting till August because of their mess up to the female receptionist not doing her job properly. How on earth can they make such a shambles of it all you told me their was no prior appts before my daughter has major surgery on 20th may this isn't good at all I've attended all appts and this twice now you've messed up and said twice I was having my teeth extracted and twice you've messed up the appts I dread to think what will happen to my husbands appt in may The whole thing is a shambles from start to finish

Fantastic experience: Cant fault the work achieved on a front crown that came loose. The temporary one looked so good that you would never have known. Returned for impressions today and looking forward to the completed work in a few weeks time. Staff helpful , kind and I am a nervous patient but with each step of the process I havent had any issues.

Negative experience: Awful Had an appointment at 11.15am and wasn’t seen til nearly 1pm Arrived before 10 other patients who were all seen before me. Too many patients on your books? Or are you prioritising private patients over NHS? Missed 2 hours of my work time unnecessarily and now will be working late into the evening

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff really helpful. I am not good at dentists I get severe anxiety I have been known to leave halfway through sadly . I found the dentist Roberta excellent she put me at ease and checked in if I was ok. I was really impressed her assistant made me feel comfortable. I also found the staff lovely at the desk offering a downstairs treatment room for medical reasons. Thank you Roberta you have restored my faith in a Dentist. .
