Positive experience: The dentist herself and her nurse were very friendly and kind. However the receptionist was close to incompetent! First she asked us to complete the medical forms, which we had already done online as requested. Then there was a debate on whether we had paid for this visit in advance, which we had but she couldn't find any trace of it. After involving a colleague, who told her we had paid, it was left at that. By this time there was a lengthy queue behind us, which was quite embarrassing for all, and then we left, apologising to the queue as we left. The receptionist was perfectly polite but clearly needs more training in dealing with the computer system. **** Further to this review yesterday we were very pleased to get a telephone call from the receptionist, Fareena, who apologised for the misunderstanding and went on to explain the situation she found herself in. We feel that this phone call reflects very well on the company and Fareena herself and would now be happy to revise our star rating to four.

Negative experience: My wife broke the side of a tooth whilst on holiday in England. Although she was grateful to be seen by a dentist quickly she was shocked to be charged 60 pounds to be told 'Yes you have broken the side of your tooth' and then another 125 pounds for a temporary filling which was so rough it made her tongue worse than it already was. She has just seen her own dentist here in France who had to smooth the filling so that it no longer rubs against toungue A crown will also be required at a cost of 413 pounds so altogether a very unhappy experience

Negative experience: Have asked for an email with my x-rays several times. I was assured they would be emailed to me yesterday and today still no x-rays. I also explained to the receptionist yesterday that I needed my copies of x-rays as the consultant is waiting on me & they would charge me £120 if I couldn't provide them. Receptionist should have called me back & explain any delays but heard nothing. Today I'm still chasing up my x-rays. I was told they would refer me to a specialist the last time I was seen by the this dentist. Months later still no call or contact from specialist, an email saying "we tried to contact you" and they certainly didn't. This is one of the most Unprofessional dental practices you could possible walk into. They ought to be reported to CQC & investigated. Farina is the only professional member of staff from what I have seen so far.

Fantastic experience: The dentist I see Dr Yourdeshahi is so quick and painless with any procedure, I no longer fear going to the dentist because of him. My filing was done before I knew it. I have had to wait until my appointment next week for the the extraordinarily highly adept dentist who gave me full confidence in her professionalismand ability ,due to a medical issue, I am having a tooth removed. I have nothing but gratitude, for her .professionalism and high quality dental work ...thankyou. I had a large upper tooth removed yesterday, I was put completely at ease ,and the lady dentist, was highly professional in every way ,I felt no pain, and today it's miraculously healing up incredibly well, Thankyou I could not have asked for more . I can't add that Dr Oscar, as well as all others dentists and nurses, has the gentle touch of a very highly skilled dentist. THANKYOU! Fantastic experience: First time with Mr Allan Wong and as I hate dentist I just don't like them but i know that we all have to use them I was made to feel comfortable from walking through the door to going into the surgery and making me feel a little better and hopefully ready for my next appointment

Negative experience: I went to damira walk in clinic, I was in extreme pain, I waited three hours to be seen. When I was finally seen I told the dentist I just wanted the toothe out, he said i don't have time because i have to see a registered patient in ten minutes. Just disgusting service. Shame I can't give 0 stars

Fantastic experience: Lovely dentist 10/10 always happy throughout each time I visit through 111 the receptionist farina is always lovely and happy to help with a positive smile and the dentist Sharon always listens to me without any issues and she’s always happy to help no matter what dramas I bring would recommend this dentist everytime especially if your scared of the dentist this is the place to be !

Fantastic experience: My grandson was referred via 101 for an emergency appointment at 1 pm on 21 June 2025 he waited for until 2.30 apparently the receptionist informed us that the dentist was at lunch the receptionist Farina apologisedWaited more than an hour for A 111 which made him ill however the treatment my grandson received from the dentist was excellent and most caring he understood my grandsons medical situation and treated him accordingly,it was apparently a misunderstanding regarding the booking and I accept that to be reasonable .my grandson was very grateful to leave the surgery pain free and happy .thankyou

Negative experience: Usually I don't make reviews but last week on Saturday my son had a problem with his tooth abscess and tried to make an emergency appointment,but we met the wrong person in reception name Mania.She was aggressive and had a bad attitude which made my son want to leave that place he is just 10 year old boy. Negative experience: Damira couldn’t care about their patients only here to print money. I’ve been in a lot recently and every time they have charged me different amounts of money for the same procedure. The lack of understanding by the receptionist was a joke, the fact that she can look at me in agony and tell me without money they won’t help is disgusting. Booked for an extraction and need £220 up front but they had 4 dentist try to pull my tooth and failed once so why would I pay £220 up front for them to fail again?

Negative experience: I was sent here by 111 for an emergency appointment .Not sure why an appointment time was given if the doctor (don't the name of the person ) was not even interested to see the patient. I was in intense pain , face was swallowed . The doctor was very unprofessional , was not even listening properly to the problem , music was playing there .He literally had me in there for a couple of minutes tapping my teeth and stating I have an abscess and tooth extraction needed was given a prescription for antibiotics. No X-ray to determine cause then I have requested for a X -ray so that I know which tooth needs to be extract as there was already an bridge on three teeth so I need to know which tooth needs to be extracted.Really disappointed , fees was paid already if the patient is on time and in horrible pain, please don't do that it's really unhelpful and helpless for someone's health.Worse experience ever !!

Negative experience: Terrible service. They said they could fix the glue behind my metal retainer however once I paid 30 pounds the dentist said they cant do anything. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

Negative experience: my nan went into this place, and they numbed her tooth but didn’t wait for the numbing to process, so her tooth was getting taken out whilst she could feel the pain, even though she paid £200 for the bad service provided.(shocking)

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency appointment with Dr David Yuan to replace a amalgam filling that had fallen out and I can honestly say he is the best dentist I have ever visited. He carried out his work with care and great communication top dentist and I would recommend it to anyone. Also the receptionist was friendly and helpful which isn't always the case in a dentist/doctors surgery.

Negative experience: I am very unhappy with Damira dental. I had a tooth extraction and because of the extensive damage to my gums an infection occured(it happens). Booked a follow up visit with them payed another 60£ (it lasted 5 minutes tops)and when I left I payed another 20£ for the antibiotics wich they didn't had and told to go to a pharmacy with the receipt and I'll get my pills.I was told by the pharmacist that no such thing exist and I payed again for my antibiotics.Called them to ask why the 20 extra and apparently the system didn't work and they can't ckeck why I was charged extra so I will be called back.Never happened. Awfull service.If you have a problem might aswell get a pair of pliers and do it yourself.It ended up costing me 400£ and countless sleepless nights. Wouldn't recommend them not in a million years.

Fantastic experience: I attended Damira with my son who had horrific tooth pain. There was some confusion as I was told I could just take him in, as long as it was before 20:00, but when we arrived this was not the case. The receptionists who were working there were wonderful and managed to get my son seen. It’s a Sunday and with bank holiday tomorrow, I am so unbelievably grateful they managed to squeeze him in. We saw Dr Wong (I hope I spelt that right) and he was just amazing. Wonderful surgery with even better staff

Fantastic experience: I contacted Damira Dental Studios in Shirley on a Friday evening with a sudden tooth emergency and was offered an urgent appointment the very next day. It was all impressively quick, and the emergency fee was perfectly reasonable. Dr Akaf Rashid took care of me and was simply outstanding throughout. Dr Rashid has a refreshingly commonsense, safety-first approach, carefully assessing every factor before beginning any treatment. His communication was top-notch. He explained each step in clear, reassuring language so I always knew what was happening and why. The procedure itself was carried out swiftly and expertly. Dr Rashid has an exceptionally steady hand and I left feeling both relieved and confident that my tooth had been treated properly. Overall, this was an excellent experience from start to finish, and I would strongly recommend Damira Dental Studios (and Dr Akaf Rashid in particular) to anyone in need of prompt, professional dental care.

Fantastic experience: After spending 3 hours here yesterday and having 3 extractions, one by an independent dentist and 2 by one of the private dentists, I cannot fault them at all. Aside from the normal tugging sensation I wasn’t in any pain despite one of the extractions being very complex. Everyone was pleasant and polite with a real focus on patient comfort. As expected, the bill was quite steep but the dentists were worth and earned every single penny!

Positive experience: Dental care is excellent but their payment protocol is odd. They want up front payment for treatment which is fine but I had to give an "up front payment for my next check up in six months time NOW". To be clear... I have paid up front for my next check up in November 2025 NOW. So they have my money for 6 months............to me this almost seems immoral.

Negative experience: I decided to visit there because it seemed like a very good clinic but I was wrong I went there to the emergency room where I had a scan I paid 80 pounds and I was given an appointment a few days later to have what I decided to do an hour before I received a message that the appointment was cancelled for medical reasons I went there I made another appointment in almost 2 weeks I receive a message again an hour before that it was cancelled because the doctor is sick I go there to make another appointment I think he would have an appointment in 2 months given that I have already waited almost 3 weeks so from here you draw conclusions and decide if you want to go to this clinic or not I want to say that I have universal credit and it had to be done through the NSC

Negative experience: My daughters appointment had to be rescheduled as they had run out of NHS quota. We attended our rescheduled appointment 6 months later and then sat for 45 mins waiting to be seen. The staff are nice enough but having a 5yr old wait for 45 mins when it's already late in the evening isn't great

Amazing service and such a meticulous dentist and relaxing atmosphere that it was nearly a pleasure if not for a price… but it’s just as expensive as everywhere else in this country hence five stars! Negative experience: On Friday, May 9, 2025, at around 12.30, I contacted your dental practice; you are also a walking in dental care. Since last night, my tooth began to hurt very badly, I took paracetamol and went to work in the morning shift. I could not eat anything. At work, I got worse, my right cheek was swollen and I was very weak. I know that it is very difficult to get an appointment with my dentist, so I immediately went to walk in center to see you, my severe toothache and swollen face in the cheek area did not need additional explanation. Your receptionist immediately began to say that I did not have the slightest chance to see a doctor, only ... if I paid money, as a private patient. There was only one other patient in , the clinic was empty. From all this negative state and weakness, I lost consciousness. I woke up on the floor, not quite understanding what had happened. Your workers gave me water and a sugar pill. Suddenly, a free doctor was immediately found, who prescribed me an antibiotic and, without particularly worrying about my condition, escorted me out of the clinic, saying that the tooth needed to be removed, but where and how was my problem. I have lived in UK for more than twenty years, and have never experienced such an attitude towards myself. As far as I know, you are obliged! to provide assistance to a patient in an emergency condition, which I had. Please consider this unpleasant case.

Negative experience: I booked for 20 mins teeth cleaning. Paid £60. But not satisfied. I timed the procedure and I only had the service for 10 mins due to the suction not working (needing to change the suction bottle). The whole process of changing the suction bottle which was not my fault was included on my time. It was not fair.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a dental emergency and visited the practice on Saturday. The receptionist, Farina, was incredibly helpful and clearly explained the difference between the NHS walk-in service and private options. She efficiently arranged an NHS appointment for me, exactly as I requested. Following my NHS appointment, I decided to book a private slot to take my teeth out. I returned to the practice, and Farina quickly and seamlessly arranged a private consultation with Dr. Dennis he did an incredible good job. Negative experience: If you require emergency dental treatment out of your normal dentist hours be sure to make that extremely important phone call to 111 and get an appointment because if you don’t you will genuinely be left sat there in agony for over 3 hours because as far as I can tell, your pain level and swelling is far less important !!! Because you didn’t call 111 and I mean you did call Damira 1st who advised you to attend at 3pm and then when you get there the staff have no clue wha day of the week it is as there’s no communication between call centre and dentist l, and do of course none between receptionist and dentist. But lots between receptionist and dental nurses and they dance between rooms having a chat with whoever is in each room. I know it’s NHS but just give me an idea of time

My face was visibly swollen and the dentist informed me he would only prescribe me amoxicillin which I am resistant too unless I paid more money also the same with pain relief he told me I would have to have a private prescription.The place smells funny and of cigarettes. Negative experience: I had a denature about 4 weeks ago and I could not eat and also affecting my speeches as well. When I came for a review, I have been told, "we can't help you any more" and provided with a choice to refund me or accept the situations as nothing else can be done. Unfortunately, when I say politely that, "this not going be any use for me, so if you can't do anything else, I will take the refund." He said, he won't treat me any more for just accepting his alternative choice. It is a disappointing, at best! I am now left with chowing problems and seem to have some effect on my digestive system.

Negative experience: Reception staff are rude and very demeaning. Multiple times I've been spoke to rudely. Or they mess up my arranged appointments then blame the patients for their mistakes. Negative experience: I've been given two prescriptions since starting here and both have been invalid and unusable. I've also been kicked off the system due to non-attendance despite being chronically ill and not physically able to attend, and then not given a new appointment for multiple months despite having a broken tooth and debilitating jaw ache. Negative experience: Completely useless! Do not recommend one bit. Could not attend my appointment due to unexpected illness. Rang them 3 times, and spent 30 plus minutes each time on hold, then received an email saying, I had missed my appointment, and they would no longer keep me on as a patient!! Complete joke!!

Fantastic experience: Had an infection in my back tooth, paid and got an appointment same day(Saturday) Was very unsure of how this all works, though I would be charged for everything, however not the case, my x-ray was included in my £35 and was told I had different options, antibiotics/release pressure to relieve pain, or extraction I left with antibiotics and once home the pain was intense went back to the surgery at 1840 as the lovely receptionist did everything possible to have me seen Once there seeing a different dentist the options were the same, I had the tooth drilled to relieve the pressure Being a nervous patient as the dentist isn’t something I like, and was put completely at ease, zero pressure to rush my decision all eventuality’s explained, set price and no extra I would highly recommend these ladies and gents very sympathetic and not pushy like some private dentists are A big thank you to dr Allen wang for his understanding and patience explaining each step as it was happening and what to expect Also to the receptionist who’s compassion for my situation was undoubtedly genuine I have since made this my dentist as the whole process was fantastic

Positive experience: It’s my normal surgery but I needed emergency appointment. Turned up and asked to wait and I was seen within twenty min I was lucky it wasn’t busy that day as it normally is . My dentist Farshid was amazing as usual and so calming and I’m lucky he is my normal dentist as I can get anxious . Would have given five stars but getting through on the phone is a nightmare and the call back system the day before didn’t work and didn’t receive one after three hours had to ring them again.

Fantastic experience: Dr Weng and his dental assistant were great and stayed late to help my daughter who was in severe pain. It’s just a shame this treatment isn’t more affordable or even free on the NHS

Fantastic experience: Very polite and efficient reception staff. I was seen by the Hygienist on time and she was very thorough and gave good advice. I then saw the dentist who saw me ahead of my appointment time as I was early. He was equally polite and efficient and friendly. All round an excellent experience. Thank you.

Positive experience: My children and I use this practise and experience is very much dependant on the dentist you see. Fortunately I have found an independent private dentist here who is amazing and nothing but considerate and helpful, however there are many more who my children and I have encountered over the years who have been rude, dismissive, patronising and completely clueless when it comes to dealing with phobic and anxious patients. Booking appointments and treatment is easy if seeing the same dentist regularly but if relying on emergency, last minute appointments.communication between the team seems to be an issue. Reception staff are also unprofessional. During my last visit I and a full waiting room of patients were treated to a lengthy,.disparaging conversation discussing their personal opinions of other staff.

Negative experience: The reception team where lovely. The dentist I saw was not! Major language barrier and he did not explain anything. He literally tapped my tooth and said "out" then proceeded to inject my gum and the roof of my mouth and then ripped my tooth out. Very traumatic experience.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience at Damira Shirley Dental Practice in Southampton. I was in severe pain due to my wisdom tooth and had to travel 1.5 hours each way for an emergency appointment arranged through NHS 111, expecting some relief. Upon arrival, the receptionist took the Band 1 payment upfront before even assessing my situation and had me fill out a long form that felt more like a sales pitch for private treatments than a necessary patient intake. I was eventually called in 30 minutes after my appointment time, which I understand since it was a triage appointment. However, as soon as the dentist saw me, he immediately stated that I would need to pay an additional £80 for an X-ray and book another appointment for an extraction. This completely defeated the purpose of my emergency visit—I was left in just as much pain, with no actual treatment provided, and no available appointments in the coming days. Thankfully, I called MyDentist in Gillingham, and they brought forward my appointment to the next day, where they promptly did an X-ray, extracted my tooth within half an hour, and charged only the NHS Band 2 fee—with no extra charge for the X-ray. Damira Shirley Dental Practice felt more interested in upselling private treatments than actually providing urgent care. If you're looking for genuine NHS emergency treatment, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: The dentist is lovely but very let down yesterday as I paid £95 for a private hygienist appointment I left home in good time for 11 am appointment but got caught up in a traffic accident so I phoned the surgery T 1045 to tell them I was on the way but no one answered so left a message so arrived at 1115 where I explained what happened but was told I. Hold not have the appointment and would be charged £60 £2 a minute for the missed / no show but I was there I asked if I could swap my appointment about as I had a dentist booked for 1130 the receptionist said no and was showed no compassion at all I asked to speak to manager I was told no and she didn’t have a phone in her office And was told to email her I’m still waiting for a response other than a email explaining that patient’s would be charged this its shocking funny that as I was never told that when I booked it I actually didn’t go into the dentist until 1215 45 minutes late I’m waiting this is £60 I don’t have so now I can’t rebook the treatment If anyone reads this from head office please contact me

Negative experience: I recently visited and was disappointed with the customer service at reception. The receptionist was impolite and insisted that I pay for my treatment, without taking the time to listen when I explained that it was within the three-month period covered under my previous treatment. Instead of addressing my concerns, they were dismissive and unhelpful, making the experience unnecessarily stressful. Fortunately, when I spoke to the dentist, they understood the situation and confirmed that I was indeed eligible for a refund. Patients deserve to be treated with kindness and respect, especially in a healthcare setting. I hope the practice ensures that all staff provide a more patient-friendly experience in the future.

Negative experience: Worst dentist practise we’ve ever experienced. Booked an emergency appointment as need a tooth extracted, drive an hour to my appointment to be told they don’t have enough time and the next available appointment is in 6 weeks time whilst I’m in agony. So what’s the point in an emergency appointment then??? Awful service, avoid!

Positive experience: Good and professional dentists. Only downside is that after being a patient for more than 5 years, my dentist has been charged almost every year.. would be good to keep seeing the same dentist (same person) plus prices are shocking… paid £80 for x Ray yesterday and I am NHS patient.. why is it not covered by my national insurance contributions ?

Negative experience: Unprofessional and Inefficient Reception Staff I visited the clinic this morning with my son, who had requested an appointment with the doctor. Upon arrival, the reception staff did not check the email sent by Damira and simply asked us to sit and wait. We waited for an hour and a half with no communication or updates. When I finally inquired, they casually informed me that there were no appointments scheduled for today. I ended up wasting an hour and a half due to their negligence. Extremely disappointing service. I should give Zero stars for their behaviour.
