Chopra & Associates Dental Surgery

Negative experience: I went to Chopra after them being recommended by an nhs dentist, I attended the appointment and was told to wait a week for a hospital appointment after 2 weeks still no appointment so I rang them for them to say it may take longer ….six months later still no appointment but I have received 7 messages since January trying to sell me irrelevant services , you gave me false hope at the appointment saying you’d help me sort my dental problems to just do nothing !!! Thanks

Fantastic experience: I had a tooth extraction. During the surgery I felt comfortable and felt no pain. Doctor and nurse very polite and during the procedure they kept me updated about each step. Highly recommend it.

Positive experience: Dental surgeon excellent. Made sure I understood the options and checked regularly on pain levels. Only criticism is dingey interior of building and lack of space. A bit off-putting when you enter.

Negative experience: I was referred there, buy my local dentline service for a tooth removal. I get there and twenty seven pound.Something is demanded from me, when I query the amount, i'm told we're not removing the tooth today. So what the hell am I being referred for a treatment? They're not going to provide and i'm certainly not going to pay money just to sit and have the same thing happen as did saturday. Sounds like money by false pretences to me

Fantastic experience: As a complete and utter dental phobic, all I can say is, "wow!". I've never ever had a dentist be so kind, patient and understanding as the chap I saw was. I was referred by my own dentist to go to Chopra's for a tooth extraction, I was absolutely terrified going in, but it was all unnecessary, he looked after me so well and I didn't feel any pain whatsoever. I 100% recommend Chopra & Associates.

Negative experience: The worst dental practice ever, they mutilate your teeth, not at all professional, very high prices going if you're going private. I've had about 4 different dental practitioners over the years, not one of them want to save your teeth, I've lost more a tooth due to their negligence and uncaring nature, the sad part is they just after your money and not your health. They can't even do their job properly. So I'm trying somewhere else. I wouldn't bother with these dentists, they'll happily give you amalgam fillings, which are just. Bad for your health in any case. Avoid if you can.

Positive experience: Very polite and friendly staff. This is the first time I've been to a dentist since I came from abroad, so the system is all new for me. The dentist did a very professional checkup, very helpful and explained what options are there and what is necessary that needs to be done as well as the costs. I only found it a bit confusing as the practice advertises for NHS patients but does not explain fully how to register with a dentist. I asked the dentist and he said one needs to register with this particular practice. When I asked at reception I was told that it only applies to children and I should come back after a few months MAYBE. They should at least specify correctly and if it is a NHS practice as per the website and the other adverts as well, then there should be a clear indication/explanation how to go about it, or how to register etc. But I also felt for a person that comes from abroad, there should be more time to get to know the patient and not to ask questions in a very fast paced manner, there was no proper introduction in a calm manner. I felt a bit nervous when asked reasons why I'm there , questions were asked very quickly and it does make one a bit nervous being a first time patient. But the dentist was very good and then explained the outcome professionally. Overall, it's a very good practice, professional and I will surely make my next appointment soon. Thank you,

No issues really, always looked after, staff are great, treat me with kindness and understanding. I'm lucky to have found them all those years ago. Thank you. Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff here always kind and helpful. It’s a busy dentist but they always make time for you. The dentist I have is so patient with me as I have a fear of the Dentist never rushes me even though they are so busy reassures me does fantastic work feel very lucky to have an NHS place here but even if I didn’t, I’d go there.

Positive experience: Friendly and helpful staff. Good communication with appointment reminders, treatment costs and any next steps. Appointments ran on time which was good. The only negative was THREE different members of staff walking in and out of the room during my treatment which I found awkward, distracting and unnecessary. It seemed chaotic and unorganised, and brought down the professionalism hence the 4star rating instead of 5.

Fantastic experience: Had an extraction last week and had a bit of a reaction to the anaesthetic, the dentist and dental nurse were absolutely amazing and helped me through. The extraction process was smooth and easy and the work of both was very appreciated. The gum had 2 stitches put in and I am healing very well. Thanks again.

Last week I went in again for a treatment 5 months after my last review and I am extremely happy. 5 * Thank you.

Positive experience: I was shocked to learn that I had 6 teeth which needed fillings. The dentist filled 4 but said that 2 would need to be carried out privately. The work was carried out more quickly than I expected, and none of the 4 hurt at all when the anaesthetic wore off.

Positive experience: My children are always made to feel safe and secure whilst at the dentist. As a parent, I'm given advice and have every thing explained to me. I have found one of the reception staff to be very unhelpful and rude. We don't get reminders about appointments or when a check up is due so I asked about it and she just shrugged her shoulders. The same receptionist was very abrupt when my son turned 18 and made his first adult appointment. Everyone else has been very professional on our visits.

Negative experience: I visited the practice for a filling and paid extra for a permanent one, but it lasted just a couple of years, when I called to complain I was told I have to pay again.

Negative experience: After 7 appointments in the space of 3 months I’ve had a problem with the crown of my teeth, and as a result after the 7 appointments all they have done is raised the crown higher where now I am struggling to eat and pain affects my day to day life.

Fantastic experience: The premises may be cramped, the wall colour in the waiting rooms is unfortunate, but the staff are friendly and the dentists know their stuff. Which is teeth. (And also gums. Your teeth need healthy gums.). I would recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Appointment was for my daughter who suffers from anxiety. I was allowed to go in with her while she had a tooth extraction. The dental surgeon was amazing, explained everything before he started and kept checking on her through out the long procedure. Top marks for his work and his empathy towards my daughter.

Negative experience: Everything I’ve read regarding the polite and helpful staff is true . As I’ve experienced the same treatment . Although I can’t say the same about my dental treatment . I’ve been waiting almost 8 months to have dentures fitted . Rarely seen the dentist twice . Tired of me having to explain to whichever dentist I happen to see that day why I’m there . I have had X-rays missing for months . I’ve even pulled two teeth myself as I couldn’t handle the pain . Been in pain all over Christmas . It’s almost been 8 months and I still haven’t had an impression made for my dentures . So this makes me think is this because im having free treatment (UC). I hope not , I’d like to think I’ve just been very unlucky . Yet the drama still continues. I’ve paid taxes my whole life . Served my country numerous times in the line of duty within the British Army . Yet it takes almost a year to have my treatment done . I’m guessing if I were paying ,my treatment would been completed months ago . If I’m wrong then I apologise in advance . But am in pain and feeling neglected if I’m honest . I done my bit for you all in Northern Ireland , Iraq and Afghanistan. All I want is my teeth fixed . Regards Ian .
