Positive experience: I liked Sana’a client centred approach to how she managed my dental concerns. However, I have since learned that they operate with dental assistants. Which may have implications for and if you require the services of a fully qualified dentist. Best to ask them when booking. Genix’s reception area is a welcoming place, even though it can be overwhelming with so much going on there. The approach at the main entrance could do with a bit of tidying- it was littered with crisp and chocolate wrappers.

Negative experience: Fine if you want a checkup, but do not pay their staff enough to maintain capable dentists. I have had my incisor damaged due to "cleaning" (now has a filling), and when my molar needed extraction a different dentist tried, failed and left me with an open wound and three roots to extract elsewhere privately!! Genix Gloucester is dangerous! Avoid if you need to receive care!
Positive experience: Okay place but not THE best you know? Sometimes receptionists act like they can't hear you or they don't know anything but the actual dentists themselves are great and kind, especially with the kids!

Fantastic experience: Myself and my children have been with Genix for about 7 years now and they have always been prompt with appointments, sending reminders and a friendly staff. The dentists we have seen are very professional, patient and caring. My one child used to be very nervous at a young age, but they helped her feel confident in going and now she's so much better with her appointments and we all leave with a smile

I’ve always been able to get an appointment when we need one and it’s lovely that we can see the same dentist each time. Super friendly and would recommend.
Negative experience: I’m quite disappointed with my recent experience. Dr. Mohammed cancelled my dentist appointment twice, which was really inconvenient and frustrating, especially when planning around work and other commitments. I understand emergencies happen, but consistent cancellations make it hard to rely on this practice. I hope they can improve on scheduling and communication moving forward.

Positive experience: Last few appointments have been good, however I have had quite a few appointments cancelled in the past by the practice and not given a choice to see a different dentist practitioner for the same appointment on the same day.
Positive experience: It was ok in the surgery, The price I paid for a routine hygiene of cleaning my teeth was reasonable considering I am on a set income each month. Would recommend the dentist (Genix) for NHS treatment.

Positive experience: Good and bad. Just had a really nice dentist for an emergency appointment. But it was a bit of a trial actually getting the appointment At least it was NHS prices. The younger receptionists need to speak more slowly and with a little bit more respect. We're not all used to teenage speak! Glad to see the lady back with the experience and knowledge behind the counter. The dentists are mostly very good and patient.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend Prasaba highly enough. Having spent 48hrs in agony and being let down by MyDentist for a scheduled surgical extraction I was unable to find any help from any other surgeries in the area or 111. Emergency dental care really is shocking. Thankfully Jody came to our rescue when she called back and offered an appt with Prasaba that came day. I was very anxious as knew it wasn't a straightforward procedure but Prasaba made me feel very calm and explained everything that was going to happen. The procedure itself was pain free and I actually felt relaxed! What was a difficult extraction was made to feel like an easy one because of her experience and professionalism. I can't thank Prasaba and her team enough! As for the cost, the extraction itself was over £100 cheaper than what MyDentist charged me. Thankfully now refunded! Thank you again Prasaba!

Fantastic experience: The reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Have been seen by two different dentists and both were very informative and made me feel comfortable and I am pretty anxious. I have been very happy with the standard and speed that work i needed was done.
Positive experience: From when you go in till leaving the staff are fantastic. The building entrance and stair way needs some loving care and the hand dryer in the ladies wasn’t working and no available paper towels so 1 star off for that. However the dental service was great & I can recommend them, the dentist was very aware and addressed any discomfort that I had.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Athul Is a superb Dentist. I have undergone extensive treatment over a long period of time. The treatment and follow-up care I have received from this practice has been superb.Dr Athul and his team especially his regular Dental Nurse have been excellent.
Negative experience: Terrible service. Extortionate prices. Go to ‘My Dentist’ on Eastgate Street for a much cheaper and significantly more professional service. Genix tried to charge me over £700 to have my wisdom teeth out but when I got a second opinion I was told at ‘My Dentist’ I would probably face serious nerve damage if I didn’t have the extraction at the hospital. ‘My Dentist’ would have only charged slightly over £200 but after viewing my X-ray, they advised me and fully refunded me. Genix would have gone ahead with the extraction after seeing multiple x-rays. When I went to hospital Genix hadn’t even sent my X-rays over. I suffered multiple infections during this time. When I was at Genix I felt like they were only concerned with getting as much of my money as possible, and had no concern for my health.
Fantastic experience: I went here for an emergency appointment as I was in pain with a loose tooth. I was absolutely petrified at the thought of the tooth being extracted as I have a phobia with dentists. The lady who treated me was very patient with me. She was so gentle doing the treatment. I'm now pain free.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Genix for some time and always see Shareef Mohamed who is very patient and understanding. I have a terrible fear of dentists and he totally gets it. I had root canal treatment and it was as painless and stress free as it could be, thanks to him. I will not see anyone one else.

Negative experience: Do not recommend this place at all.. This palce is such a joke.waste of people’s time and money…3 visits.nothing happened.. Reception staff on 04.12.2024 at 2pm was ridiculous.. (Gloucester) Even though we make complains manager doesn’t turnup for 3 day,taking money from the visit and then they return people with doing nothing since they’re machine not in order,on the other day wrong practitioner or practitioner gone for vacation, Soo many thing .do not make any appointment with them.don’t know to talk to people at all..bad sevice ever

Positive experience: I decided to procure a dentist for myself after not having been seen for nearly 20 years. I was recommended Genix by several associates. I opted for the more expensive plan which was £20 a month. This apparently allows you to see the hygienist once or twice a year, but only once you've been paying for 6 months, which is not clearly mentioned in the introductory phonecall and surprised me when I had to pay £80-odd after seeing the hygienist after my initial check up. The receptionist told me those terms after mentioning it when I went to make a follow-up appointment for January. This was back around the Summer mind you. Anyway, now to the present: I am forced by circumstance to cancel my plan, which I did through my bank last week some time. This morning I received a call from Genix saying I would now have to pay the difference on the discounted initial check up I had when I first signed up with them! That is to say I had paid a discounted price for being on the plan that I was and would now, on leaving them, have to pay the rest of the full price of the check up!! What scoundrels! I was dumbfounded, to say the least! After paying £20 a month for more than six months and having one check up and a hygienist cleaning which I paid good money for. It was suggested that I have a filling on one tooth which would cost £130 and change, but which I would receive a whopping 10% discount for. I could not afford it at the time otherwise I would have had it done, and no doubt would now be asked to pay the £13-or-so difference upon cancelling my Direct Debit. I allow that they perhaps sent me all this information upon my joining them so I will have to check up on that. I will say that the good lady dentist I saw was fantastic however, and could tell I was nervous and made me feel relaxed and in good hands. I am afraid I do not remember her name, but yes, she was a gem and a credit to Genix. I would recommend doing your homework when joining so you don't get bamboozled like me, but would sort-of recommend them. EDIT: my clinician was Mrs. Sharma and I found no terms and conditions in any email correspondence with Genix.

Fantastic experience: I attended Genix yesterday for my six monthly check up. Unfortunately my appointment was held up by an hour as my dentist had to deal with two emergencies! She was most apologetic although it was not her fault and was as caring and attentive as usual. It is always a good experience at Genix and I am glad to be a patient there.

I even got a hug from the lovely receptionist when I got a little emotional. I know I need treatment and have a way to go but my first impression are good ones. Fantastic experience: Currently undergoing some treatment with saleha she is an amazing dentist, I phoned the NHS option and was phoned back before the end of the day,my issue has been treated with utmost professionalism,people complain about the waiting times but honestly the 10 minute wait is nothing to the months of pain. Positive experience: My consultant 5 star The practice only 3 I had travelled 50 minutes for this appointment and taken day off work. When I got there they had changed my appointment without informing me which was incredibly annoying. As I had proof. Lucky for me the appointment before me had not shown up so I could still see my consultant.

Negative experience: By far the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. Took my daughter for an appointment a year ago where they stated they would complete an orthodontist referral, gave them her NHS number at the time. Then 6 weeks later I receive an email asking for her NHS number for the referral? Why wasn’t it sent at the time when I gave her NHS number. Following this I’ve tried chasing on 5 different occasions and told someone will get back to me with no response. All phone calls and emails ignored to the point I’m now not even sure her referral has been sent.

Negative experience: Probably worse dentist there is, Our dentist there cared more about running into his lunch break and seeing patience and more about his private ones then NHS, TODAY VISIT shows this Due to traffic I was 4 minutes late due to traffic, reception was also busy making me 7 minutes late, they point blank refused to see me, even though 99.9 times out 100 they are running behind

Negative experience: Possibly the worst dentists that I have ever been to. Recently signed up as a new NHS patient, and was booked in for an routine appointment the following week. Arrived at my appointment, only for them to not be able to access any of their system due to the WiFi being down, and was told to rebook- these things happen. Rebooked for the following day, and when I arrived, was made to pay before my appointment. I was then seen by a dental therapist and not a dentist, who said I needed to book in another routine appointment with a dentist, as she could not recommend treatment. There was no mention before my appointment that it was with a therapist and not a dentist. I have then been booked in with a dentist for a routine appointment, only to be phoned the night before and told they would have to rebook me as the receptionist has booked me in on a day where "my" dentist only does private appointments. I haven't even seen a dentist yet. My new appointment is 3 weeks away, therefore leaving me 5 weeks before even being seen by a dentist. I am in need of treatment, which they are aware of, but apparently they don't have anyone available who can actually advise treatment.

Fantastic experience: I'm terrified of dentists (thanks to previous experiences). I was treated sympathetically and dental assistant was very kind holding my hand during procedure. Edit: I did however notice later at home a partial facial paralysis on the extraction side. My cheek and mouth in particular was droopy on that side. Jawbone still felt tingly but on the 3rd day the droopiness improved and is now back to normal. Don't know whether paralysis or droopiness is normal after extraction.

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to this dentist. I arrived at 15:15 for my son’s 15:30 appointment, as requested, only to end up waiting over half an hour in the waiting room. I had to take time off work specifically to make sure we were on time, yet it seems like the clinic has no respect for their patients’ schedules. No updates or apologies for the delay, just a waste of my time. This isn’t the first time either—every time I have an appointment, it’s the same story. This lack of organization and communication is unacceptable, and I expected much better service.

Fantastic experience: Recent filling on a molar which had a gaping hole. Appointment was on time and received excellent treatment. I couldn't believe how fast the gum was frozen and how quickly the filling was done. No pain afterwards either. In and out in 25 mins. Only a slight wait for scheduled appointment. Well done. Always been treated with care and respect.

Positive experience: Been a handful of times, occasionally get my appointments cancelled which is annoying when you put all your energy into booking one in the first place! Went yesterday for a check up due to having some sensitivities in a couple of problem areas but was fully gaslighted by my dental therapist (therapist being a very loose term, there is nothing therapeutic about their practice), as well as patronised on occasion. I had half a mind to walk out mid appointment. They did not change their tone until they had noticed I had been upset in the chair whilst they looked at my x ray. It was not until they saw my x ray that they acknowledged my sensitivities. I had to come to my own conclusions from my X-ray to which they then affirmed. I am not paying for appointments to figure out my own issues. This is not the first time I’ve had a miserable dentist at Genix and I highly recommend the staff get some level of training in social skills and building relationships with their patients. You might want to reconsider the term ‘therapist’ in the job titles too. When you struggle to visit the dentist, the last thing you need is to be made upset during your appointments.

Negative experience: Every time my son has had an appointment months in advance, they have always called up 1 or 2 days before asking if they can reschedule it due to staff holidays, surely you know well in advance about any holidays? This not only messes up school runs but also work schedules... might have to look elsewhere that's more reliable..

Fantastic experience: As a nervous patient I dread a Dental appointment. The nerves were an unnecessary drain on my energy which I need to get on top of hopefully. The care I received was efficient, comforting and pain free. Can't say I'm looking forward to my next visit but it will be a breeze compared to toothache!

Fantastic experience: Recently had issues with a broken tooth that affected my ability to wear my bridge. I was seen by Dr Ameen Fairooz who spent time explaining in depth all the options available to me including what was available on the NHS and privately. Negative experience: Travelled 2 hours across 2 counties in heavy traffic to make an appointment for my daughter arranged at 5pm. Got to appointment 3 minutes late so was moved to bottom of list to wait in waiting room. No problem with this and happy to wait. Was seen at 6pm. Without explanation from dentist, she was unable to do treatment as she hadn't eaten (because of travelling and waiting). This was not explained beforehand. I was then made to feel utterly worthless by the dentist who proceeded to tell me I was neglectful! I wasn't allowed to get a word in while she absolutely crushed my confidence and self esteem after saying I was finding her intimidating and rude. Her assistant was lovely who explained to me why they couldn't do what was needed and to book another appointment. I left that room crying and shaking and feeling like I never want to visit a dentist again. I wouldn't recommend genix if this is the type of dentists they employ. Having a smile should boost your confidence, not to be leaving feeling ashamed and sick. I have never been treated with such Horrible service before in my life - in fact I haven't been treated this way by anyone before. Feel absolutely crushed.

Fantastic experience: I only recently joined Genix Healthcare Dental Clinic - Gloucester, and had my first treatment last week. Fantastic experience: I have always received good care at Genix dentist. This includes the receptionists, dental nurses and my lovely dentist Mr Sharieef. He is very gentle, caring and friendly.
Positive experience: I visited recently and was disappointed at being sent to the waiting room and seeing other customers being called in before me long after the time that my appointment was due. When I went to the desk to complain I was told that they were sorry but the dentist I was due to see had overrun with her last patient. Fortunately I was called on a few minutes later. I have to say that this is the first time that I have had cause to complain on any visit and am happy to put it down as a “one off”. I have no other complaints about this visit. Negative experience: My wife and kids have been trying to see the dentist since January. The appointment has now been cancelled for the 5th time. Mostly it’s because the dentist has last minute childcare issues, the latest cancellation came the day before the appointment because the dentist is on annual leave. Totally and utterly hopeless.
Positive experience: Very clean friendly staff and very professional and caring some members of the receptionist team are not very welcoming if your an NHS patient but actual dentist are friendly and caring
Fantastic experience: Ameen is a very good dentist, very patient and always makes sure you are comfortable whilst giving you treatment. He always asks for consent too.I had my wisdom tooth extracted, it was a very hard procedure as roots were too deep but he managed to extract it without problems , checking with me everytime to see if I was OK. I am very greatful as that tooth has bern giving me a lot of trouble
Fantastic experience: I had a very positive experience on my visit today. When I rang I was offered an appointment to deal with a problem the following day. Dr Sharieef Mohamed was very efficient. The reception team Evan and Suhara were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Always had a great visit, appointments always on time and Nazia Hassan has always been welcoming, patient with my boy especially & showed him everything step by step explaining what she is doing clearly.
Fantastic experience: I Have been going to Genix in Gloucester for over two years now and each time I have been fortunate to see Mara for my appointment. In all of the time I have been going to the dentist (many years now) I have never had as good treatment as I have had with Mara. As someone who feared facing treatment I now go in knowing that I will be given all the facts about my situation, putting my mind at rest, and that I will be treated in a very gentle but professional way, for me she is the best. Also the other staff in the clinic are always cheerful and helpful, making my visit a stress free time.
Negative experience: Apparently they're a good service but I doubt anyone actually knows if this is true because they don't answer their phones OR emails. Better luck getting dentist treatment from a brick wall, you'd probably come out looking better aswell.
Positive experience: My dentist is friendly and kind and knows I feel anxious. The receptionists do their best to help you and ensure you aren't waiting a long time. The only reason it didn't get 5 *s is that it's on a second floor and the loft can be a bit unpleasant
Negative experience: The dental treatment I’ve received has been good although the general appearance as you approach the practice is poor. I appreciate they are located in a shared building and the state of the hall and lift is not solely the responsibility of the practice staff but in light of Covid it would be reassuring if someone made the effort to keep it clean and tidy. Also in over 40 years I’ve never dreaded going to the dentist the way I have with Genix. There was a discrepancy with payment which has been very poorly handled by the practice manager. I appreciate it’s a busy practice but when I couldn’t get through on the phone in either my morning or lunch break I emailed. I emailed several times and not once have I had a reply. I even wrote a letter which I know was received as it was sent with a tracked service. Still no reply or acknowledgment. The actual dentists are fine - Nazia is lovely but communication amongst the admin staff is dire. I have to wonder if I’d be made to feel as awful if I was paying the full fees as a private patient.

Positive experience: On time, appointment fine, another new dentist, my 7th I think! There seems to be a push for private treatment on NHS patients, financially out of reach for many people.
Positive experience: Appointment due midday - seen 12.35 - I asked why the apparent delay - and was told the dentist is doing some treatments today. I find that irritating as not so long ago, I had a filling come out, I was booked for a filling (30 minutes) only when I attended was told I would have to come back as I had only been allocated an assessment - meaning another journey into Gloucester, another bit of time off work - so yesterday, if allocated midday, surely that should have been much nearer midday? A chap next to me had to leave to put more money in the meter. Operating the dental practice might have it's difficulties, I understand that, but on the other side the dental practice has to recognise the arrangement we have to make to attend the appointment. Interestingly my wife couldn't attend at the last moment yesterday with me - she had been taken to GRH the day before for an emergency procedure, wasn't in the end dealt with, we had to come back in the morning for a fixed appointment which they did - but the result took so long when she should have had it by 11, giving her ample time to attend - so for not her reason but that of the NHS, she was put don as a 'non attender' - I guess so many and you will be taken off the dental books. That I also understand, but if there are sanctions against people not attending, surely the practice should do everything to arrange their appointments as close to the time we are allocated?? The treatment fine btw, it's the organisation that needs tweaking.
Negative experience: I wanted to get a rough quote for teeth straightening using Invisalign and was told there would be a consultation fee of £20. I attended the first appointment and had a 3D picture taken of my teeth. I was then told there would be a further £30 for the next appointment where a further 3D picture would be taken, which is used to generate a video and make impressions should I wish to continue. At the second appointment, which took all of 30 seconds for the £30, I’m then told it’s a further £300 for the 3D X-ray, which is included in the final price IF I decide to proceed. Since I can’t decide to proceed without knowing roughly what the final cost will be, I ask for a rough estimate, which I’m told is £2,400 for one arch. Beforehand in the waiting room where I’m the first patient of the day (my appointment was at 9:15 and I’m seen to at 9:30, not the first instance my appointment time has been messed up at this practice), there is an advertisement / info screen with changing pictures, where it clearly states on one of the slides from £1,500 per arch - an immediate £900 difference. I was not given the right information at the right time, and also given miss-information in the waiting room. I feel as though I was just messed around, at every appointment I had to commit to more money with no warning, just to find out how much it would be to have my teeth straightened. Absolutely awful experience. I’m glad to say I was refunded the £20 & £30. This all could’ve been avoided if I was given the correct information at the initial £20 appointment, which I would’ve been happy to pay for to get the quote.
Positive experience: Called, as my back tooth broke off after eating popcorn. Has to wait 5 days for my appointment, in pain all week. My new dentist was lovely, caring to my pain.Always ensuring I was comfy and could not feel anything. It is bad and will need extraction or root canal. But the filling has left me in pain. So had to wait all weekend before could ring in for emergency visit. Was able to wait 90 mins for new apps. Gave me a prescription as infection. But pain still exists. At least new filling is white not metal. Will need to check price comparisons. This new dentist is far better than "the butcher" I had before. Always clean, always busy. Shame about the lift to get to 2nd floor. Always smells of urine. Not a great advert.
Negative experience: First off, p. Sharma is a very rude dentist. Who doesn't care someone's feelings Secondly, I was booked in for an extraction only to be told be her that I'm coming in for only xray. I don't know how it works but according to all based knowledge that wasn't right, as she told me on my first visit that I should book in for my extraction.
Negative experience: I had an emergency appointment in January with this practice which went amazing, and then signed up as an NHS patient a month or two later. I was told during the emergency appointment to take a course of antibiotics and return to a dentist for it to be extracted. I have since had 3 courses of antibiotics, 4 (or more) appointments cancelled and a scrape and polish. I have had two abscess's, endured months of pain and taken medication that could of been avoided.
