Positive experience: Great treatment, would have given 5 stars but I had to wait 20 minutes for my appointment and as it was 8.45am there was no time for backlog. Have used this practice for several years and seldom had to wait more than a few minutes

Positive experience: Was a little bit disappointed that I could not see Alistair Hayes and also had to book another appointment to have my teeth cleaned as he had no time to clean them on the 4th July. Also my husband had the same appointment as me and he has had to rebook for two fillings. It was not our fault that the therapist was running over time.

Fantastic experience: Such a shame Mr Hayes is no longer there. Will be greatly missed. The dentist I saw on my recent visit was very pleasant, but unfortunately couldn't understand what he was saying. Therefore spoke to the receptionist who was very understanding and helpful, and made my next appointment with another dentist within the practice.

Negative experience: Absolutely terrible service. No comments that they have a break from 1-2pm. It doesn’t affect me so much but an elderly man knocked on the door the staff completely ignored and he wasn’t able to find a seat outside the practice. It’s a very busy area and this sort of information should be disclosed and staff shouldn’t be so rude it really surprised me to see an elderly man have to struggle and lean on his walking stick for a good 15 minutes before being let in all due to them having an uninformed break and didn’t even acknowledge the customers existence. Dentists late into the practice with their coffees and extremely unprofessional and rude. Unreasonably demeaning and basically just not a respectful place to go would not recommend and I’m quite shocked they’ve got any good reviews to be honest. Tragic still shocked they made an old person wait let alone how incredibly disorganised and disrespectful they were.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, they almost never answer calls recently, and when I was called back once, it was a one signal than dropped immediately - called straight back and went back to the voice mail. This makes it challenging to book follow-up appointments, as I either have to walk in or wait for the contact back only to find that all slots are taken. This is concerning, especially since they require deposits for procedures that later you can not book. Additionally, I had an experience when a receptionist seemed to repeatedly imply that I didn't speak English while recommending an appointment type that wasn't recommended by the dentist. I am medically trained and fully understood the difference, so I found this particularly difficult. Especially taking into consideration how difficult it is to speak to them in the first place and the interruption/delay of the treatment plan. Moreover, if your dentist isn't available, they charge for a second opinion from another dentist. This seems unfair, as it's not the patient’s fault that my original dentist is unavailable, and I expect that the second opinion would align with the first, especially since my treatment is already in progress and both Doctors are employed by the clinic. On a positive note, I've always been satisfied with the consultations and the medical team. Both of my dentists are very knowledgeable, patient, and willing to answer all my questions while discussing treatment options. The reception team is also lovely when you meet them in person.

Fantastic experience: They are an amazing dental surgery I have never had such excellent treatment though I do not have many teeth left they still treat me as having a full set. Everyone at the reception desk are very helpful and courteous it makes going to the dentist a pleasure. My dentist Jonathan is a star and does his upmost to keep the few teeth I have in order.

Fantastic experience: Had a further appointment with MrJonathan Christensen to remove some broken teeth.though it was a difficult extraction he did his very best to minimise the pain and time of the process. Fantastic experience: It’s always a very positive experience at David Neal’s. Alistair is cheerful, informative and thoughtful. When I attended for some extraction work, I was treated to music of my choice as I sat in the Chair. I also enjoyed listening in to his dialogue with the other equally competent dental nurse. The practice is well run and efficient. I received help to organise my interest free loan when I was having problems on my phone. Thanks to all at the practice!

Negative experience: I would never recommend this dentist. My appointment lasted no more than two minutes, during which the dentist, Jonathan, was rude, abrupt, and unprofessional. He told me my teeth would “rot away,” left the door wide open (so much for patient confidentiality), and was chewing gum the entire time. It felt like they just wanted me in and out as quickly as possible. To make things worse, the receptionist was incredibly rude and kept lecturing me about needing to attend every six months, even though they were the ones who removed me from their system when my original dentist left. She then tried to charge me over £70 without explaining what for—despite me only having a basic checkup. I emailed a complaint a few days later, only to receive a dismissive response. They tried to say I was 15 minutes late to my appointment and said I should be grateful they still saw me, when in reality, I arrived 10 minutes early. The lack of care, professionalism, and respect at this practice is shocking. Avoid at all costs!

Fantastic experience: Had a dentist and hygienist appointment with Jonathan Michelle, fantastic service from all the team. One slight criticism, my appointment was running 30 minutes late, which can be awkward if you're on one of the town's overpriced parking meters. Dealing with individual needs, doesn't always take 5 minutes, hence overrunning appointments. Overall I'm pleased with the whole experience.

Fantastic experience: Very good indeed as usual. Alistair Hayes is an excellent, highly skilled, gentle and caring dentist, especially great for people who are nervous. Other staff are very good too. Reception team are usually very welcoming. Facilities have been modernised recently. Excellent for NHS patients, if you can get on their list, but very challenging at the moment as is the case with most Dentists. I am concerned that the follow up appointment for treatment following a check up is now over three months away. Appreciate that the practice simply cannot recruit another dentist, though not for lack of trying I understand.

Fantastic experience: This is without a doubt the best dental practice I have ever been too. I joined when it first opened in Hastings as Total Dental Care. It may have been transferred in recent years but your care is still the core of the whole team and this is exemplified on each visit. It is also impeccably clean. As an older patient whose teeth need `care` more frequently I do not worry about visits. Call backs are received and reminders of appointments likewise. With all the dentists I have seen they are happy to explain the options and what is involved. Appointments are not rushed and you feel cared for. I currently see Mr Hays who could not be more professional. Over many years the overall standard of the reception has improved.

Negative experience: I liked this place. 24 years here. I phone up today as a very large filling they did has come out. I was told they wouldn't see me anymore as I missed an appointment. The problem is, I didn't make the appointment that I missed. They also said they sent a letter to tell me this back in March, I didn't receive the letter.

Fantastic experience: All staff were pleasant, and polite. Johnathan and his dental nurse were lovely. I'm a nervous patient but they made me feel at ease. Johnathan told me what he was doing at all times and was really reassuring. Mel (Hygienest) was brilliant so gentle and told me what she would be doing Thank you, brilliant practice I would definately recommend it.

Positive experience: Generally good, but half hour late to been seen. Then told by the dentist to ask reception staff any questions as the dentist was far too busy to answer a question. But had time to tell me he had seen 90 patients today which seems almost impossible. Being nice to people is not hard. I get we are all busy but manner and being polite should be a basic level of standards service a patient would expect to receive when visiting a medical professional.

In an era when some poor people cannot find a dentist who will see them, David Neal Dental continues to provide an excellent service to its patients. Fantastic experience: All staff are very efficient and professional yet friendly. I was seen on time and all necessary work completed during my appointment. I am a nervous patient and my Dentist ( Mr Hayes) is particularly good at explaining the procedure throughout and keeping me calm.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous beyond belief about my impending extraction. Alistair in his usual relaxing manner calmed me down, explained why the tooth had to come out, detailed exactly what he would do and that I would feel no pain. By the time the anaesthetic had numbed my mouth I was much calmer - so calm in fact that I was not aware of Alistair removing the tooth. I'd like to say a big thank you to Alistair - the best dentist, ever!
