Positive experience: Excellent Dentist Jamal which I have been seeing for past 5 years now. But on this occasion came across a rude receptionist (probably new as I have never seen her before) who printed my invoice and just threw it with the envelope on the desk for me to pick up. Probably having a bad day or I over reacted but I told her I found that action a bit rude. Other than that I cannot fault this dental surgery.

Positive experience: Trying to get through to the dental practice can prove to be quite difficult, their lines are constantly busy. The service and the treatment was fine.

Negative experience: Booked Appointment over 1 month ago . Called in to confirm appointments was still on & Ask if there was anything sooner was informed no. Went to Appointment was informed appointment got cancelled without my acknowledgment. The staff siding the college who canceled the appointment saying “we do no cancel appointment if patient don’t say”. I asked if there calls was recorded to listen to the call as not at one point I asked to cancel appointment. The lady who had cancelled appointment didn’t even apologise. Spoken to manger she said only thing they can do is apologise . Very disappointed with the service as to come to this appointment I had to take time off work also having an ill child to make this appointment.

Negative experience: I was there 5 years ago and after 5 years of dental care elsewhere I can appreciate the difference. One tooth totally destroyed by crap unstable fillings that kept falling out, a separate root canal done there was infected and now maybe tooth can’t be saved or will cost thousands. Doing dental work, they always struggled to anaesthetise my bottom molars properly telling me “you’ve had the maximal dose of LA” while my current dentist identified straight away it’s due to a known anatomical variant of the nerve and got a full bock first attempt. My dentist at this practice was genuinely terrible, I would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I am very happy with the service provided by the dentist Jamil Jeeva, very knowledgeable and kind during my treatment. He always explains everything in detail before starting the treatment. Thank you so much. Highly appreciated and highly recommended. Fantastic experience: I had to visit due to an emergency appointment so first time here and the experience was surprisingly positive. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The male dentist who treated me was thorough and informative and his dental assistant was equally kind and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.

Negative experience: I had to have a filling and the dentist injected me with local anaesthetic it was so painful it took so long and half of the medicine was running down my throat and I swallowed probably half of it as the medicine didn't even work and was still painful, even when he did it a second time same thing happened. I have never had that happen before and knew it was not normal so could not trust that dentist and was not going to have another 3 or 4 injections so I left without having my tooth fixed. Now few days later I am in so much pain around the tooth area and where the injections were. Avoid. The whole atmosphere from start to finish was very bad!

Fantastic experience: Excellent practise. Clean, new, professional and friendly. I had to attend as an emergency and the treatment was first class. I will look to register here following my visit.

Negative experience: To say that I was very disappointed would be an understatement. None of my concerns were addressed during the appointment, and I was kept waiting for over 45 minutes without any explanation. The dentist seemed more focused on trying to book me in for another appointment rather than addressing the matters at hand, which glaringly demonstrated his inexperience. Additionally, the interruptions from the dental nurse in an attempt to salvage the situation were quite annoying, to say the least.

Positive experience: Ms Sojithra has been my dentist for nearly 23 years and has always been polite and gentle .

Fantastic experience: I was seen at this practice. It was my first time in life of ever visiting a dentist . Right from entering the building and meeting with the receptionist, I felt comfortable , anxiety reduced. The dentist was also kind- he explained what to expect. Negative experience: The blonde dentist i don t know her name, very useless,didn't care about my pain at all and she could not even sorted out the pain i have on my tooth! I ve been referred by nhs 111 but my problem was not sorted out She just prescribed me antibiotics and let me with the pain i have.... Very dissatisfied!!!! 1 star!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful family dental visit at Abbey Dental Barking. The staff were friendly and made all of us feel at ease. My 7yr old actually enjoyed the experience which says alot. The team was patient, explained everything clearly, and made the whole visit stress free. The environment was clean , welcoming, and very child friendly. We're so glad to have found a dental practice that is great for the whole family. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I came a week a go with severe pain they gave antibiotics for 5 days and after a week of absolutely bad pain I need to come back to check it drink antibiotics again because they don’t know to give enough days to heal my teeth I am very disappointed from the way I got treated and and from the emergency treatments absolutely not professional in my opinion ! They need to make sure they give antibiotics to have enough days to heal and not going through a such bad pain because of the doctor !make sure next time if want to call a professional dental clinic

Negative experience: Terrible experience, they request for payment before I even got there for my appointment.the receptionist asked for bank card number and the 3 digits and I was surprised and asked thought I was the one to type my pin on the phone and she said no and that they don’t keep records of those. I think it’s wrong to do. The nurse or dentist who saw me within a minute told me she can’t see anything wrong with my tooth, but how come I’m in pain with it.not going there again.

And has helped me out with pain and re assured me with everything. She’s very polite and take her time and gentle with the tools. She’s seen my daughter to and asks about her. Negative experience: Receptionist are disrespectful because management is not professional she thinks she is their friend she doesn’t believe the patient she believes her rude staff I feel much better reading the comments knowing the issue was not me nor my mental health- I have a life long condition due to this place nerve damage it’s called (trigeminal neuralgia) severe seizures of electric shocks (left side of my face only) too and lower gum line can’t touch face wash face tablets work less just spent 6weeks going through severe daily pain everyday waiting on another MRI Doctors, walk in emergency could not help I’m in remission 4 days meaning I can now brush without pain touch face etc It’s been sometime now I think it’s to late to sue due to my mental health I did not follow through didn’t have the guidance and understanding instead of going back to them I found another dentist who goes back to a place that damaged and inflicted up on a person I need to go get my records over there will add up with my records with them as well as my doctors records Also that same evening it felt like I was walking on my face through my feet to my face with every step severe pain only on my left side which is why the next day I followed through with another dentist the condition gets worser with time

Fantastic experience: Amazing dental care. Had an issue with a crown which the local dentist suggested that the tooth can't be saved. Dr. Zainab V. at Abbey Dental not only saved the tooth for the at least the next 6 to 7 years, but also the crown feels just perfectly fitted leaving absolutely no gaps. Very professional work, on time and with the best equipment and advice. The reception is also very welcoming and polite with appointments booked in very promptly with regular messages and updates. Absolutely nothing to improve. Very good service. Thanks a lot and will continue to use this service for the coming years even if it means we have to drive further from home.

Negative experience: MY FAMILY HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE AT THIS PRACTICE FROM THEIR DENTIST, RACHEL O'FLAHERTY. My child who is on the autism spectrum and has a range of global developmental delays went for his first dental check up today (08.11.24) at this practice. The care we received from Rachel was awful. This woman was rude, unprofessional and aggressive. She did a perfect job of causing agony by scraping at my poor son's teeth and gums with a pointy stick with aggression to prove we wasn't brushing his teeth properly. She knew he was in pain but kept on poking at his gums without any care and consideration. She did not once speak to him or give him reassurance despite seeing him squirming in pain. Absolute vile behaviour! My son was in so much pain afterwards and his gums were still bleeding after we had left the practice from all the poking she was doing to his gums (which was so unnecessary all because she wanted to prove a point!) Yes, to me that's unacceptable behaviour! It's mad how people like us are being treated like animals by medical professionals for no justifiable reason. It's not unreasonable to hope that a qualified dentist would understand that they are the health care professionals and every person who walks through their door for help deserves being treated with respect and dignity. The whole point of being a dentist is to treat and heal (and not judge!) This woman didn't ask, she presumed things about us during the appointment. Yes, she was very presumptuous and judgemental. She didn't ask about my son's medical conditions upon arrival, she just assumed we were not brushing his teeth properly. Sadly, our son has a medical condition where he can't chew which has had a negative impact on his gums. I tried explaining this to her, but she wasn't interested and she kept insisting it was because we wasn't brushing his teeth properly. We have been seen by numerous dental professions, hoping to find one who truly understood the issues we were having with our son due to his conditions. It’s extremely frustrating to just hear “brush better ” when you are already doing that! I’m sure that advice is useful to some of their patients but it’s so demoralising when you’re already doing all of that. That's incredibly irresponsible and unfair. If a patient 'can't be treated' then the dentist who says that shouldn't be in a profession that prides itself on never giving up and always fighting for a better life and outcome for everyone. This woman lacks compassion and her treatment towards our son was unacceptable. He is now stress around dentistry because of this woman. She has caused him so much distress and anxiety he now refuses to go for future checkups. I will be raising this incident with ICB and request to see another dentist at this practice that is known for being human friendly. I also hope the practice manager will take the necessary steps to prevent this from happening to anyone else (although I doubt it by looking at the other negative reviews about her!) I don't think it's unreasonable to want to be treated fairly and kindly despite your disability. I feel deeply frustrated and let down by this practice.

This guy's customer service was next to none. He was so calmed throughout the process and kept assuring me of what he was doing. With this in mind, I highly recommend this practice.

Positive experience: Pros: Professional front staff, great dentists and assistants and clean atmosphere. Cons: Entire family with one exception deregistered automatically without notice. Come to find out that they cannot be re-registered. This has had a detrimental effect on the children as the practice have a rule not to register new children as patients.

Negative experience: Since the beginning, Abbey Dental Barking has been my preferred dentist. The dental hygienist I had previously was a woman, and she did an excellent job cleaning my teeth. She never skipped a cleaning or neglected to watch over any area. And The new dental hygienist was talking too much while he was cleaning teeth and it was too difficult to hear him. The dental hygienist didn't even finish cleaning my teeth properly ; instead, he concentrated on scheduling a follow-up appointment and Pay an additional £73.00 to have my teeth thoroughly cleaned. This is utterly unfair and disgusting. I'm heartbroken and will never return to Abbey Dental Barking.

Positive experience: The Dentist was very welcoming and polite. The dental nurses assisting her however, were very condescending and rude, they shouted commands at me angrily - It was as if they were forced into dental nursing. The abominable service from them needless to say is very short of the standards expected from the General Dental Council. There was no care or compassion whatsoever. I left the Dentist with a double bitter taste in my mouth, one from the aftermath of the injections and the second from the unprofessional dental "nurses".

Fantastic experience: Great team who are very supportive and clearly explains exactly what they are going to do and why. The fact that they constantly asked me if I was ok during the treatment helped me feel reassured and that I was under proper care. Can't thank them enough for the help over the years!

Fantastic experience: The best dental care I have received. Had an emergency appointment here and the care and attention provided was much better than my own dentist. Both the dentist and nurse were really understanding and did their best to help me on the day and referred me for further treatment. They weren’t after making money from someone who was in a lot of pain and needed medical assistance, they took their time and made sure I left feeling happy.

Negative experience: Tried calling for 2 days to book appointment but never pick the phone. I waited for almost 10 minutes. There's always a few ladies at the Reception, don't tell me even one of them couldn't answer the call! Very bad customer service. The management should do something about this.

Negative experience: Receptionist staff are very rude with no understanding of the clients. My wife had an appointment which she needed to cancel because my baby became really unwell over night. A rude receptionist staff told her no one can get unwell over night as if to say she was lying. She spoke in a very informal way and a terrible tone of voice. She rudely told her she needs to cancel 24 hours before and cannot cancel on the day, even though it was a Monday and they are closed on a Sunday. She called in early on the day hours before her appointment, but no one had answered the phone. She kept trying every hour and no answer until an hour before the appointment which was late afternoon. She had no compassion and said she will remove her name from the patient list if she is to cancel on the day again. No understanding and would not acknowledge any fault from their side.

Negative experience: I like the customer service are very polite and helpful but the doctor was so weired . She was very rude . It was not the first time I had the appointment with her. Most of the time I I I felt bit weired rude to me and my kids . It’s a normal if I donot understand something can ask second time. Same happened yesterday , I asked her something for further appointment at the end. She replied me too loud and very rudely , hurted a lot. I could say her but didnot. I was not getting free service, paid Band 2 fees .I am not happy with the doctor and not clear with the appointment. Even I was thinking to complaint form about her behaviour and waited for feedback form. I would like to request to change my Doctor or otherwise I have to register somewhere else. Negative experience: I have attended abbey dental clinic for emergency appointment for tooth pain from NHS on 9th August 2024 evening 7pm. I have met dentist Racheal O'Flaherty and she examined me and took an x-ray for my tooth and said she is doing temporary filling for my tooth on my right side top tooth. After that she gave injection and filled my tooth and send me home. That injection was painful and after going home i feel painful and swelling on my entire right cheek. I don't know which injection she given to me and how much dosage she given, because of that injection and treatment I am getting severe pain and swelling in my right cheek. Its been 3 days completed but still now no improvement in pain or swelling. Really I got very worse treatment from them and i went back to the clinic to explain about my pain they said you need to have private treatment for it. I dont understand these people will take care of only private patients and will not care about NHS patients. I am still suffering from pain and swelling because of their worse treatment. I need solution for my problem from them. Seriously I dont recommend this clinic as they are very careless about patients.

Fantastic experience: I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and only waited few minutes before being called in. My hygienist, Dhirendra introduced himself and explained the procedure to me. He reassured me of my concerns regarding 2 implants put in recently and said he would be very careful working around them. He also gave me verbal advice on how to keep my teeth clean. I definitely would recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Janke is marvellous. I have too many health issues to detail, which include crumbling teeth, and Janke understands my anxiety and treats me accordingly. I would not have my teeth touched by anyone else.

Fantastic experience: I was in severe pain and I’m terrified of the dentist, I haven’t been for a very long time. I was sent to this dentist as an emergency appointment. The dental nurse and dentist were both amazing and made my traumatic experience the best it could be. I’m truly grateful for how lovely the nurse was giving me a hug and calming me down, I wish I knew her name. Thankyou so much.

Negative experience: Worst dentist experience I’ve received. Some of the receptionist staff are extremely rude and unprofessional. One of them seemed very young with 0 client service skills, had a very bad attitude for no reason. To make it worse I went in with a minor problem, then the treatment I received from the dentist made my problem 100 times worse. I am now in constant pain whenever I eat anything on my right side. SAVE your teeth health and sanity, and AVOID THIS PLACE!

Negative experience: A month ago I had an appointment at this practice and after having concerns I was dismissed without any treatment. I just booked an appointment at a different dental practice and they mentioned I require filling in 3 AREAS. Dentist Racheal O’Flaherty at Abbey Dental just quickly saw me and after seeing the scans assumed no treatment was required. No cleaning nothing. Very disappointing, I do not recommend her!

Fantastic experience: 4 June 2024 I recently had another fantastic experience with Abbey Dental and I can't recommend them highly enough. They went above and beyond to assist me on short notice. From the moment I called to make an emergency appointment, the receptionist was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Dr. Zainab Vasanwala went the extra mile to help me restore my confidence and smile. It's clear that they genuinely care about their patients. Thank you once again to the Abbey Dental team for consistently exceeding my expectations! Is a shame that Google reviews dont let you add extra reviews, because I had exceptional service at Abbey dental, so I took the liberty to amend at keep my previous review just below. Previous review: I recently visited Abbey Dental and was very impressed with the friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The entire staff was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout my visit. I especially want to thank Dr. Amina and Dr. Jamil for their exceptional care and attention to detail. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well-informed during my visit, whether it was for an emergency or just general advice. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Abbey Dental and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist who truly cares about their patients.

Positive experience: Would have been 5 stars if the dentist had resisted directly injecting anesthetic into my extremely painful abscess! Why she didn't just inject around it I don't know.

Positive experience: Although the cost of the hygienist has gone up. It was only as I left I realised I had only been in the chair approx 25 minutes. With at least 5 mins on admin. I feel the hygienist does a good job, but it needes to be the whole 30 mins or at a reduced rate.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service I had a really sore gum I have all on 4 implants so a very niche issue the dentist was great and went above and beyond to help me as much as possible
