Positive experience: Check up. Overall good appointment. The dentist was professional and carried out a thorough check of my teeth. Only slight disappointment was that I was called into my appointment 15 minutes late, it didn't appear busy and no apology for the wait was offered. Would have been 5 stars if the delay had been acknowledged.

Negative experience: Absolute joke, anything on nhs is free but dentist not, just coz I wanted to rearrange an appointment short notice remove me from their database, idk how much I’m fuming with this, as they have the audacity to remove just because I wanted to rearrange as well as the difficulty to get new dentist, what if something goes wrong , the whole blame on this crappy dentist the absolute audacity

Negative experience: Reception are 5 star - poor dentist I was told I needed to have 6 teeth removed - No I do not.... do not take the advice you are given from these people to be correct. I have one tooth which cannot be saved but is ok and will not be removed as I am not in pain and will be removed when it needs to be removed and not for the sake of it. I visited another dentist who could not understand why I was told this. GET A SECOND OPINION - RIPPING OUT TEETH WHICH CANNOT GROW BACK IS TERRIBLE. TAKING A TOOTH OUT IS ALWAYS A LAST RESORT.

Fantastic experience: Arrived ten minutes early for my appointment and was in the dentist chair within two minutes, so would recommend.

Negative experience: Given 1 star for the female dentist and the receptionist as they have always been lovely when I’ve been. I used to be a patient at this dentist, but was struck off as I did not go to dentist often enough (I suffer badly with depression and so for a long time I did not look after myself, including my dental hygiene - obviously this cannot be helped by the dentist). I clench my jaw in my sleep and so just before christmas 2023 I had a broken tooth at the back. I booked an emergency appointment due to having lots of pain and it ended up being an infection in my impacted wisdom tooth (didn’t know about the broken one until this appointment). I had another emergency appointment a short while later due to the same problem, both of these appointments were positive and the female dentist I saw was very nice, understanding and thorough in her examination. Fast forward to now (Oct 2024) I have developed an abscess and after being unable to secure an appointment here, I went to another emergency dentist through 111 and was given antibiotics. The abscess was still there and still causing pain even after finishing the course and so I booked an emergency appointment with this dentist, and I finally got in. Saw a male dentist instead of the female one I had seen previously, and he came off as very annoyed that I was there. The examination was very quick, and made me feel ignored. He told me I needed to register with a dentist and stop “using emergency appointments for nothing”. Firstly, it’s not nothing. Abscesses and infections can be dangerous if left untreated, the dentist should be well aware of that. Secondly, I am currently on about 3 or 4 different waiting lists for NHS dentists in Hull; it’s not a case of me not wanting a dentist, I am TRYING. If I could afford private, I wouldn’t be in this situation. I told the dentist this and he still repeated that I need to see a dentist….I’m not sure what else I am meant to do about that. I left my appointment feeling as if I had been scolded for something out of my control, and nobody should be talked down to - there was no compassion shown and I felt as if the dentist was being condescending to me. (not my first experience of this, I also experienced this when I was a patient there with another male dentist). I've seen multiple other reviews that talk about similar experiences, so I feel as if I am not alone, but it’s just a shame that dentists seem to have no compassion or care for NHS patients. It seems as if they don’t want to see NHS patients, especially emergency ones, and get annoyed when you go to them and ask them to do what they get paid for. If I could get registered with a dentist so easily, I wouldn’t have to use emergency appointments for “nothing”.

Fantastic experience: Having had an emergency appointment at another dentist for severe wisdom teeth pain, I arranged an NHS emergency appointment at this practice as the initial problem hadn't resolved itself. I was booked in same day, on attendance was seen to extremely quickly and the problem identified (severe infection, which wasn't picked up by the other dental practice). Prescribed antibiotics, and going back Monday for a private consultation as likely the affected wisdom tooth has to be removed. All round massively impressed from start to finish, everyone very helpful and polite from reception staff to the dentist herself.

Jaw swelling / tooth checked and extracted painlessly, as 2 injections were given as standard I believe, not the skimpy 1 injection others try to get away with.
