Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Dr Alan Bookey's practice (Albany Dental Centre) for about 35 years and I wouldn't see anyone else. This was highlighted recently on suffering dental trauma during a fall, I shuddered at the thought of an emergency dentist touching my mouth or giving me the correct advice moving forward. I trust Alan, he has always provided sound advice, however many questions I've asked about different routes of treatment during those 35 years, he is patient and knowledgeable with a great sense of humour too! An excellent dentist with a truly personal approach. The whole team are amazing, I thoroughly recommend Albany Dental Centre.

I couldn't but look up to the sky and say thanks to my friends, a six member family, all your customers, who wholeheartedly recommended you several years ago. Regardless who mans the reception at the point of arrival, a reassuring, genuine smile is guaranteed! Equally the colour scheme of the waiting area, soft upholstered chairs and the comfortable emerald green sofa adds to the welcoming and relaxed feeling. It comes as no suprise that children and their parents are often seen there just like this morning. Last but not least, as you yourself pointed out, your grey hair is there for a reason - it offers professional yet very calming experience!

Fantastic experience: THE BEST dental practice hands down. I was massively afraid of the dentist (had a panic attack the night before my wisdom tooth extraction), but Dr Bookey is just so good at what he does. I've had 3 wisdom tooth extractions, all of them finished in what felt like 10 seconds. I had a root canal treatment with him too, and again exceptional exprerience. I really appreciate his humor and the ability he has to comfort his patients. I have also been seen by Patrycja for fillings and she's extremely good as well -very calm attitude toward the patients which filled me with confidence. My experience would have not been the same without Edyta and Andrada who held my hand throughout the whole process and took such good care of me. And a shoutout to all receptionists who are so welcoming and geniune! Overall, I was someone who was dreading the dentist and had bad experiences in the past, but I'm extremely happy with this practice and they helped me overcome my dentist phobia :)

I see Dr Bookey who is fantastic but my children saw Shirin today and she was so amazing with children. My children came out happy and they were so patient and caring with them! Highly recommend. Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Albany Dentist Centre for years. Today, I saw Gabriella, a new hygienist at the practice. She made me feel calm and was gentle whilst cleaning my teeth thoroughly. The practice is innovative and I enjoy receiving the email updates, informing patients of any changes.

Fantastic experience: I had a root canal done at the Albany Dental Centre. My previous experiences at other dentists had not been the best so I was very apprehensive about the treatment I'd get. Patrycja was very knowledgeable, sincere and honest. Her attitude of wanting to give the best made me feel reassured. I got emergency treatment from her and then I returned for the more extensive treatment to get my root canal. Both Patrycja and Andrada were professional, reassuring and sincere.

Negative experience: I have thought long and hard before writing this review. I initially went to see the dentist regarding a chipped tooth and to get it filled. Treatment was okay, except that I was told to come back for another 4 fillings. During the process of those 4 fillings I developed a temporomandibular disorder, which I had never in my life experienced before and did not know what it was initially. I had jaw pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, arm pain and headaches. For weeks stretching up to months. I went back multiple times trying to get my filling corrected, not knowing what I was suffering from and was told to use a hot compress and take pain killers. The symptoms got worst and I was so worried, I fell depressed and I couldn’t see a way out. I even broke down in the clinic. I was in a very dark place. I eventually went to see a GP and was told I had temporomandibular disorder and that the dentist should sort it out for me. I went back to the dentist and told her the GP diagnosed it as a temporomandibular disorder and suddenly the dentist said that was what they felt I was suffering from they couldn’t do anything to help me as they were not specialists. Only recommended I get a mouth guard. That I needed to go to the dental hospital. It’s like they didn’t want to have anything to do with me anymore and I wasn’t given the support that I needed. Appointments always felt rushed and I didn’t feel ‘safe’. I tried asking to see a different dentist and was turned down by the receptionist. I have been back home to see my previous dentist and they commented that the additional fillings done in Albany were not necessary. That’s why he didn’t get them done when I extracted my wisdom tooth 2 months before just before my chipped tooth. It’s coming close to year now and I am still not fully recovered, still experiencing daily discomfort (tenderness in my jaw and headaches). I am now, even more terrified of going to see a dentist. I really wished I could give a glowing 5 star review, but this ordeal has irrevocably changed my life for the worse.

I have received fantastic care over the years - everyone is super friendly and helpful, and the surgery has been recently renovated which looks great. Fantastic experience: Over the years, I’ve visited many dental practices and experienced the full spectrum—from the worst to the very best. Albany Dental Centre, where I’ve been about four times now, firmly belongs in the latter category. To illustrate, I recently had a tooth extraction performed by Dr. Bookey. In my case, the procedure was remarkably quick—five seconds. He provide clear aftercare instructions (no vaping, smoking, alcohol, etc.), which I followed to the letter. The whole appointment was done in five minutes. 24 hours later, they followed up to check on me, and by then I experienced no swelling, discomfort, or even bleeding. By 48 hours, the wound had completely closed. Just a week earlier, I needed a denture to temporarily fill two gaps while saving for an implant which are not cover by the NHS. Patricia used a state-of-the-art scanner to scan my mouth, and two days later, my denture was ready. It fit with nanometric precision and matched the shade of my teeth to perfection. The practice can get busy at times, but the team is so efficient and cohesive that they handle it seamlessly. It’s a highly competent and harmonious group of professionals. For the first time, I feel I have a crystal-clear understanding of my dental health—where it stands, what needs to be done, and the steps to achieve it.

I went in to check my sore gum and teeth with Dr Patrycja and Nurse Andrada and both of them were very patient to explain everything in detail to me. As I haven't seen a dentist for quite a while so I was a bit worried, but both of them were very empathetic, gentle and professional so that put me at ease. Fantastic experience: I've been going to this dental practice for over a decade now, and it really is fantastic. I currently live over an hour away but still keep coming back to see Dr Bookey. Not only is the dental work they do extremely good (I have had several procedures which were very tricky and could have failed, but were carried off perfectly due to the expertise of the dentist, Dr Bookey), but they are also very kind and empathic, which as someone with a history of bad dental hygiene and a previous fear of dentists is greatly appreciate. I will continue going here for as long as I can, even with the long commute!

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Alan Bookey in the 90’s when he was on Camden High St and I will never forget his excellent work in saving one of my teeth in an emergency appointment. His treatment was efficient and pain free. He also explained everything and gave excellent advice. His worked lasted for decades! More recently I had an amazing consultation with Dr Gopika as I was quite anxious. Very impressed by the hi-tech intraoral scanner used to photograph my teeth onto a monitor where I was given very knowledgeable and honest advice about my options. I had an old inlay replaced which had a double fracture, she was so gentle and considerate that I soon relaxed and returned to replace another overlay. Her work is excellent and pain free. Paniz did an excellent job of cleaning my teeth gently. The team are very kind and helpful too. The practice is clean, well equipped and comfortable.
