I have just finished major dental work that has had to be done in stages over the past 8 months. Like many people I was fairly nervous about what had to be done but my dentist did her upmost to put me at my ease and the rest of the team treated me both professionally and kindly. Fantastic experience: Great dental practice. The receptionists are always super friendly and helpful. I’m a nervous patient and my dentist Dr Valkova and her dental nurse (I’m so sorry I don’t know her name!) are lovely with me. I always feel very well looked after.

Fantastic experience: I needed quite a lot of complex dental work as my previous dentist had caused quite a few problems. At my first appointment at London Road Dental Practice, the dentist did lots of x-rays and explained everything that needed to be done. There was no pressure to have the various procedures but I felt confident that I would be in safe hands. I had the an extraction yesterday and again everyone was really kind and reassuring. The dentist was so patient, regularly checking that I was okay. I was dreading having a tooth out but it was nowhere near as bad as I thought, and I feel confident of a positive outcome, which is something I didn’t feel with my previous dentist. Fantastic experience: Fayaz is wonderful! He is a perfectionist but in a brilliant way as he doesn’t change your teeth so much that they don’t look like your own. I had Invisalign and I get complimented on my teeth daily! People ask me if I’ve had composite bonding but I haven’t as Fayaz wouldn’t let me!! He knew the Invisalign would work and I’m so happy I trusted him. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and I’ve moved since my treatment plan ended so now drive 2+ hours for my check ups with Fayaz - worth the 4 hour round trip!!! He’s the best!

Fantastic experience: I took my two children here recently and couldn’t ask for a better service! They were very patient with my little girl (3 years old) who didn’t want to open her mouth and made her feel really comfortable and she’s now excited to go back in 6 months

Negative experience: I'd like to prefix this review with the fact that the actual dentist was amazing. Polite, efficient, clearly explained the whole process and the work to be carried out. This review in no way reflects his great level of service. Unfortunately, the quality of service I experienced above did not extend to the front desk. Instead, poor communication and indifference to customer's concerns seems the norm. Knowing that I would need a filling repaired and the dentist would also need to investigate the work beforehand, I called to request two 30min back-to-back appointments to investigate and repair the broken filling. Happy to pay in full, up-front for the full two sessions, regardless of how long the work took. I was told I can't do this but if I needed an emergency filling, that was a different visit/purpose and I could pay a deposit for that. I assumed this would cover the work if it was feasible within the time frame so I paid my deposit and booked. My appointment time was accurate and I was seen promptly, my experience with the dentist – though brief at approximately 6 minutes, 40 seconds from entering the room to leaving - was excellent. It was enough time to understand the issue with that single filling (seemingly a possible mistake by the previous dentist having fit a band too tight) and plan the work for that filling. Unfortunately (and not unexpectedly), the work couldn't be completed in that 30 minute slot on that day, however returning within 10 days for the work should be fine. I went to book the follow up appointment within 10 days and was informed there wasn't a slot for at least 17 days. I queried this and was then told 'having the work carried out within 30 days is fine'. I then asked, having only been in the room for 6 minutes, if some of my deposit would carry across and was told that it would not and that I've paid for 'the service I received' (which, I assume was a check for works needed - never explained very clearly, rather than any actual filling work). I clarified I’d been in there six minutes and had asked to have the work performed today but was told it's not possible to do this over the phone. I then asked why I'd not at least received other work of value for the slot I booked, such as checking the rest of my teeth for other work that was needed or have hygienist work completed which was also due. I was again told that was 'not the service I paid for'. I was, however, advised I could 'go and think about it' if I didn't want to book follow-up work. I understand the need to perform investigatory works (hence my request to book two slots). I can understand a clearly defined pay-per-service billing method. What I'm less understanding of is billing me £67.50 for 6.6 minutes of a 30 minute slot, not carrying out any other investigatory work during that slot and then having a totally disinterested attitude towards my concerns before booking a follow-up appointment to have the questionable work of the previous dentist fixed at my own expense. That said, at the linearly calculated equivalent rate of £613.63 per hour billed, I probably wouldn't care too much about one dissatisfied customer either!
