Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency dental appointment after I broke a tooth in a cycling accident. I was seen within an hour by dentist Katy Forbes. She explained the required procedure clearly before applying a temporary composite solution. Pain management was excellent and Katy was extremely kind and professional.

Fantastic experience: When I first came I had a different dentist, then I got changed to Isha Patel so glad I did she is an amazing dentist, thank you so much Isha for all you have done for me. And the dental nurses who helped as well.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the customer service at Hitchin Dental. Despite being a paying patient, I've had to chase them repeatedly over several weeks just to get a simple issue resolved—something that should have been handled swiftly and professionally from the start. I was wrongly charged for a missed hygienist appointment that was rescheduled without my knowledge. There was no communication from the practice about the new appointment date, so naturally, I didn’t attend. When I raised the issue in person, I was told it would be looked into and someone would follow up with me. However, after four separate emails over the course of more than a month as well as visiting the surgery twice and calling twice, I still haven't received a proper response or resolution. It's incredibly frustrating to be ignored like this, especially when I’ve already paid and was simply trying to attend the appointment I’m entitled to. I have now cancelled all upcoming appointment and still haven't received my money back, of which I am owed £100. If they’re this unresponsive over emails, I seriously question how they handle patient care overall. Unfortunately, I have now actioned to recover my money through the bank. Really disappointing experience—would not recommend to anyone who values their time or proper service.

Fantastic experience: Dental check went very well. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming and did not make me feel stupid when I arrived a day early for my appointment There had been a cancellation and she managed to fit me in straight away. Katie my dentist was very professional and made me feel comfortable throughout.

Positive experience: My son required urgent dental treatment after a rugby injury. When I contacted the dental surgery by phone I was given an appointment for the next morning and told that a dentist would call me after lunch. Due to the severity of the injury I took my son to the dental surgery to see if they would help. On sight, the receptionist could see how urgent the issue was and promptly found a dentist and team to help. From this point on, everyone at Hitchin dental were amazing - going above and beyond to sort the issue. A follow up appointment has been made and my son is confident he will feel better soon.

Fantastic experience: I can’t rate Hitchin Dental high enough. As a very nervous patient, who has dodged the dentist for a number of years due to anxiety , I couldn’t have had a better experience. I had been in severe pain with a cracked tooth for a few days. I was put at ease and had a totally painless extraction. All the staff were so friendly and helped put me to relax. Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of Vikash Dave for many years. He's an excellent dentist. It's always a pleasure to see him (how many of us can say that about going to the dentists?). He has a very thorough approach, taking time to explain any issues. When I've had to have work done, it has always been painless and with high quality results. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending him.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment to see a hygienist and I was told to pay upfront prior to the procedure. I had to cancel the appointment a few days afterwards only to be told that refund will only be issued via a cheque which can take up to 14days to reach me. Unfortunately it's been over a month now and I have not received any cheque. I have called severally but the only thing I get is "head office has approved it and it should be with you in a few days". This is very disappointing and stressful, all I need is my money back.

Fantastic experience: I’m autistic and have been coming to see Katy and Michelle for a good while now and I’ve never felt so at ease at the dentist before! They’re so lovely and are able to have a laugh and joke with me and make the experience a good one every time to the point I now don’t mind coming to the dentist! These women are godsends!

Fantastic experience: My dentist Kunal Patel rebuilt my smile with composite bonding on my upper front four teeth. He did a wonderful job, it looks amazing and he is the best dentist I've ever had.

Fantastic experience: We went to this dentist, and the staff were very polite and friendly, and very understanding of my child who has special needs. The dentist (Rajan) took the time and patience and understood that my child has special needs and made it a pleasant experience for them. We have booked to return here for the follow up visit.

Fantastic experience: Myself, husband and 4 children had check ups yesterday with Isha, she and her 2 nurses were very friendly and made us all feel at ease. Isha explained to the children what she would be doing, explained to the children how important it was to brush twice a day & to limit the sugar intake, she was very thorough checking the X-rays too. We all came away feeling at ease and even booked in our 6 month check up. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic experience: Myself and 3 boys aging between 15-5 come for our 1st check up today! My 5 year old was very nervous but the dentist Rajan was so good with him , she made him feel at ease and he let her check his teeth! Thank you so much for that!!! Rajan was great with them all and put their mind at ease about the colour of their teeth and how they looked! ( she said they had great teeth ) Im so glad we have swapped dentist and being seen on a Sunday was fantastic !!! Thanks guys !!

Fantastic experience: Today I went for a root canal with Shivan Patel and his assistant who were absolutely incredible!! As a nervous patient who has only ever been sedated and never experienced an injection i was amazed at how painless the whole experience was. They were so so lovely, made me feel so comfortable and relaxed and honestly only thing that wasn't the nicest was achy jaw because of keeping mouth open, other than that it was absolutely fine and if I can do it ANYONE CAN!!! Didn't hurt at all, didn't even feel the injections only tasted it a bit (yuk), also I'm a fainter and I didn't feel faint... Thank you all so much for looking after me today

Fantastic experience: I underwent a composite restoration and crown fitting procedure at Hitchin Dental today with Michael Steeden and couldn’t rate highly enough. From the first appointment Michael came across as professional, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about his field of work. The procedures themselves went smoothly (and painlessly!) and despite initially feeling anxious, Michael and his colleague were wonderful at putting my mind at ease, answering my questions and providing much-needed reassurance. I am really happy with the results, the crown looks great, with no residual discomfort. Would gladly recommend Michael and Hitchin Dental.

Fantastic experience: Best experience with the dentist. I saw Dr Kunal Patel, he was very kind and thorough and explained everything to me. I am a nervous patient and have full on confidence in his knowledge and experience. I also saw Michael Bridger a few months back for a clean and filling and he was brilliant.

Positive experience: Had a first appointment there as a private patient. The doctor was very good and professional. However, the front staff were a mix. First of all, they took my phone number wrong and I had missed a very important slot for a filling. As they could not contact me. Later I have requested for pictures to be emailed as I wanted to share these with my orthodontist (having braces fitted and realised I had a cavity), they were happy to do it. But when I called the next day, they said their IT systems were down and they were not able to email anything! And they were down since 20th November. What? In this morden world you cannot solve IT issues in a week!? Really strange.

Fantastic experience: I had my new crown fitted yesterday at the 3rd attempt! The first 2 were not to my liking because of the colour and Lewis Hazelton was very patient with my fussiness! A great dentist ably assisted by his dental nurse (I'm sorry I've forgotten her name). Lisa (Lewis's secretary) is very efficient and always welcomes you with a smile. Great dental practice all round. A very happy customer!

Fantastic experience: Dr Alec was absolutely fantastic with my 6 year old old. Unfortunately he needed a couple of extractions with sedation. Dr Alec was providing constant reassurance with my son and kept him calm whilst carrying out his treatment in such a caring and professional manner. Would definitely recommend him to other patients both adults and paediatrics! Even had a follow up call to ensure my son was ok a few hours later. Brilliant!

Fantastic experience: It’s always a pleasure to see my dental hygienist Dhivina and her dental assistant, and I speak as someone who for many years had a phobia of dentists! I come away feeling refreshed and knowledgeable about how to maintain the health and appearance of my smile Thank you . ( also a mention for those staff who are first contact- I’m sure they must receive some less than appreciative customers but my experience has been nothing but responsive, respectful and friendly- again, Thank you )

Fantastic experience: Jeyan Aziz, what an absolute credit to the proffession, Jeyan is very meticulous and tenacious with regards to her work. So friendly and compassionate. Another thing I notice is that she is very very well respected by her colleagues. Very polite and delivers excellent communication between colleagues and patients. Fantastic experience: I suffer with severe anxiety and always panic when visiting the dentist, but after seeing and receiving treatment from Dr Jey Aziz, my nerves are 100% calmer! Never have I met a truely wonderful person that cares and treats their patients the way she does!! Thank you sooo much

Fantastic experience: My appointment with Kunal Patel was a very good experience, he did excellent work on my teeth, I am very happy with the results and definitely recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with Jayde and her team. Jade gave a good, clear explanation of my options and costs without making me feel in any way pressured. The surgery seems to have very good equipment and was very clean. All in all I was made to feel like Jayde's only patient, which was very clever! She is very skillful as are the front desk people, although their skills are less obvious to the patient. If I have any critique of the front desk process from the customer's POV, it is that the functions are shrouded in some mystery, therefore the customer in a queue (and only you will know the busiest times) does not always know what is "going on". Suggestion? The Regal Chambers system of 'logging in' for patients with an appointment works very well.

Negative experience: There is a particular female dentist here that is so rude it's beyond me how she gets through life! Power hungry, taking people off books due to missing a few appointments that were for very personal, valid reasons! After speaking to the practise manager who was equally unhelpful was left feeling very upset and frustrated. Generic answers to a very personal situation, it feels as though its becoming all for financial gain here. Such a shame, kindness is free this particular dentist is so rude it's sad! You will know who it is- but with any luck she can be avoided. Customer service leaves alot to be desired.

Fantastic experience: We always have a really good experience with Hitchin Dental. The staff are friendly and professional. Today we saw Dentist Jayde for the first time and we're so impressed. She was brilliant with my children and she explained everything to us really clearly so that we understood the findings and our options going forward.

Fantastic experience: I have recently completed an invisalign correction. My dentist was Vikash. I was so impressed with the way he explained all the various stages and very patient with my concerns and questions. He made the entire process seem very comfortable and relaxed with a very friendly and approachable nature. I can not speak too highly of him and not forgetting his assistant who was also very efficient and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Have been registered with this surgery for a long time, never had a bad experience. Recently saw I Patel, would recommend with no reservations. Have to mention the very polite reception staff, always helpful.

Negative experience: NHS patients forced to become private patients due to looking after their teeth. I was a patient for 32 years and because I did not have a check up within 4 years I can no longer be an NHS patient. No communication warning me of this was given, apparently customers are expected to read the website. Basically the practice have used Covid to their advantage by culling NHS patients to increase profits.

Fantastic experience: I wasn't initially a patient at Hitchin Dental, but I needed an emergency appointment and was seen the same day. The next day, they scheduled me for a complex extraction. I'm typically a nervous patient, but every member of the team was professional and reassuring. I'm now a patient at Hitchin Dental and I can't fault them.

Positive experience: This is a great dentist with friendly staff and have helped sort out my teeth. Highly recommended. Reason for loss of 1 star - they provide text and phone call reminders of appointment (excellent) but if they leave you a message it’s just ‘please call us back’ and you then have to sit and wait on phone worried there’s something wrong with appointment. Please just leave a message saying ‘Just to remind you of your appointment on xxx.’ Cheers

Fantastic experience: I saw Rooshi Patel yesterday as an emergency patient. I was in considerable pain and discomfort so I was delighted that he was able to find time to see me. He was very kind and professional. He gave me time to explain my symptoms. After he had taken an x-ray, he explained the problem to me very clearly. He prescribed antibiotics which are beginning to relieve my symptoms. On each occasion I have been to Hitchin Dental, I have been very impressed with the efficiency of its service. I saw Dhivina on Thursday last. She has been my hygienist for at least 5 years and I cannot rate her highly enough. She is gentle, thorough and very experienced. She always gives me positive feedback on my oral hygiene and shows me where I could improve. As a consequence my teeth are in good health. Dhivina is a superb hygienist and a lovely person. I’m already looking forward to my next appointment!

Fantastic experience: I like the dentist and staff. I'm so comfortable when I'm there. They are all so friendly and you feel you are a priority to them. You walk in and they immediately stop what they are doing and greet you. Except when it comes to paying in advance and then you receive a text message if I wanted to cancel my appointment? That made me laugh I have never been asked by dental practice to cancel my appointment before?

Positive experience: I recently had composite bonding and Kunal has been incredible! He’s made sure I’m well informed, understood my needs to the T and ensured i was completely happy and comfortable with the final result. He did a fantastic job and I couldn’t be happier with my new smile! He’s also a brilliant and super friendly dentist. Dihvina, my hygienist, has done an exceptional job over the last two years helping me to improve my gum health. She always gives me the information I need and takes very good care of me! Only issue I have with this dentist is their lack of communication about price increases. I feel that as a client of this practice, we should have been informed of price changes appropriately. The reception staff were left to share the news which shouldn’t have been the case - I felt sorry for them. There’s been a significant increase in treatment prices and finding out after you’ve had your appointment which was booked prior to the changes, is very disappointing. It’s part of the duty of care to your clients and just common decency.

Fantastic experience: This is the best dental practice I have ever been to. They clearly communicate with you, telling you whether there are issues with your mouth health and advising on how to improve it. My gum health has improved hugely due to their advice. My current dentist is fantastic and I can’t fault her service - always welcoming, professional and caring, checking that you’re comfort with proposed treatment, explaining options and clear advice on long term solutions. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I received a VM from the dentist to say to contact them and subsequently received a text to say my appointment (made some months ago) had been cancelled. As you can imagine I was annoyed before I called but Imogen was excellent. She advised what had happened and why the changes had to be made then worked with my weird and wonderful work patterns to find a slot to fit. Imogen was calm in control positive and reassuring and brilliant 10/10

Fantastic experience: I have been attended to by Shivan Patel for various treatments, latterly an hour and a half appointment to fill and ‘restore’ two lower teeth. As always he was welcoming and reassuring throughout as was the nurse, ensuring that I was kept informed. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. A very supportive and professional experience.
