Fantastic experience: I have always had NHS dental treatment but due to a change in approach this surgery now require clients to sign up to a monthly payment scheme. I was not happy but felt I had no choice but to sign up. I have had my first check up and also a hygienist appointment. Both were positive experiences. Fantastic experience: So far my dealings have been great with this dental practice. Not my usual dentist but ended up going here for a root canal as my dentist wasn’t able to assist me when in a lot of pain. Team and dentist are very friendly and make you feel comfortable! Fantastic experience: Hannah is an excellent hygienist, she works with me and gives me clear instructions as well as good advice on how to clean and floss my teeth, especially in the difficult places to reach. My experience with previous hygienists is that they have been brutal and have left my mouth sore for days. The years i have been visiting Hannah she has been considerate and gentle, and not an awful experience and always has been on time. Really pleased with the service at Coulsdon Dentist. Staff are always helpful and friendly. I recently had a swollen gland, I called the practice and was seen on that day, i had an x-ray, and a thorough check up to rule out any dental problems.

Fantastic experience: My first visit to the dentist in a very long time and honestly the experience was so smooth and painless I have no apprehension about going back again. Mr Sagar Patel did a great job in removing my tooth and explained everything to me in great detail and I went away without feeling obligated to have any work done I needn't need doing. Fantastic experience: We took our two-year-old daughter for her very first dental visit, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dr Jaguar was absolutely brilliant — warm, calm, and wonderfully engaging with little ones. He greeted our daughter gently, made her a balloon from a surgical glove (which she adored!), put on her favourite cartoon Bluey on the screen, and even demonstrated how to sit in the dental chair himself. His approach was thoughtful and playful — exactly what a nervous toddler needed. To our surprise, our daughter happily followed along, and by the end of the appointment she was all smiles, chatting about the “dentist uncle” all the way home. She even asked to go again the next day! It’s clear that Dr Jaguar truly understands how to make children feel safe, seen and respected. His sincerity, professionalism, and gentle manner made a lasting impression — not just on our daughter, but on us as parents too. Negative experience: I went here for a filling and I wasn't very happy so I didn't go back. It has been months but they still havent stopped calling me to sell me membership. I told many times to stop calling me. Their message today was hurry we only have 146 places left. They are worse than phone spammers. Edit: I did raise this directly to the clinic. Many times. Could be poor documenting. Should check your records.

Dr Jaguars helper on the other hand was not friendly at all, rather miserable. She did not seem to care about her job… The machine did not have any water. She couldn’t find anything Dr Jaguar needed.

Both receptionist were so gracious and professional to the point where the gentleman waited outside the practice for me as I had a bit of trouble locating where the dental practice was. I had my tooth fixed by Trisha who was exceptional. I can't say enough about my positive experience. I am seriously thinking of joining this dental practice as I am convinced that I will not receive this level of customer care anywhere else. Fantastic experience: Highly recommend if you are looking into Invisalign. Signed up for a free Invisalign consultation with Sagar Patel who made the somewhat daunting visit easy and informative. within no time we had the full plan ready and the first aligners arrived. Coming to the end of the plan I was not happy with a few teeth, within the same appointment we done a new scan and setup a follow-up plan to get the perfect alignment I recommend the Invisalign treatment here if you are looking for expertise and affordable prices

Fantastic experience: I've attended CDC for a few years now and the service from reception to treatment has all been excellent. Every member of staff is professional, friendly and courteous. Each dentist I have seen at CDC has been very informative and clear in explaining diagnosis and treatment plans. I also managed to get an examination at short notice when in discomfort. I must say I previously attended (escaped!) a dental clinic in Purley where the service became haphazard (cancelled appointments, long delays in waiting room, different staff every visit) but Coulsdon is a model of efficiency in contrast. Parking on site is also a big plus. Thank you to all the reception staff, nurses and clinicians who have served me.

Fantastic experience: Initially booked to get Invisalign, composite bonding, and a new retainer fitted. Dylan was really informative regarding the benefits I would and wouldn’t receive with my teeth as they only needed minor adjustments, so I could make an informed choice. Ended up going for just composite bonding and a new retainer, where I’m really happy with the results. My teeth have a natural look to them, where unless told you wouldn’t realise treatment has been done. I’m very happy with my new smile. Fantastic experience: Had to have an emergency dental appointment after being hit with severe toothache due to an infected root canal. Raman Sandhu was fantastic, she fully explained to me all my options and made me feel completely at ease throughout the uncomfortable extraction process. Her husband was also extremely helpful earlier the same day when I first visited the surgery to complain of the ache and needed to book an appointment. I was in severe pain and he went out of his way to do everything he could to get me seen as soon as possible. Ive now moved out of the area so its no longer practical for me to use the clinic, but honestly if I could, I would. Highly recommend to anyone in the Purley/Coulsdon or surrounding areas… Amazing service!

We understand from your review that you visited another practice for an extraction a week ago, which would have included a check-up prior to the procedure. Fantastic experience: Lucky that my 13 year old son was able to register on NHS at this practice. Saw a dentist 2 weeks ago who checked his teeth over then advised for him to have his teeth cleaned by Hygienist. Today, 2 weeks later, he was seen within 2 minutes of entering the practice. Jaguar was so kind and gentle and 40 minutes later my son's previously very dirty teeth were sparkling and free of tartar. No pain and wasn't stressed by his first proper clean. Fantastic experience: I am very grateful that Dr Tanisha Gill fixed my daughter's braces out of genuine kindness. My daughter got her braces from King's college dental institute in Denmark hill. However the braces broke the next day and sharp wires poked out, injured her lips and she cannot close her mouth nor eat. Going back to King's dental will take days if not weeks waiting time. So we just went to Coulsdon dental clinic on emergency without making appointment. Dr Gill was so kind that she squeezed us in and saw us within 30 minutes on arrival. She skilfully cut off the sharp wire, bent it nicely that it didn't hurt and my daughter can eat as normal. Also special thank you to her nurse. She went extra miles looking through the clinic for the wire cutter tool as it's not a orthodontic clinic so they do not have the orthodontic tools. Coulsdon dental clinic can perfectly turn us away as they can say they are not orthodontist and not insured to touch the braces. However Dr Gill acted with great kindness and love for patients, not robotically follow the rules and turn us away. She was not thinking about if her insurance covers her cutting off the wire, she applied common sense and solved this emergency situation. I am so grateful.

Our digital records, which are meticulously kept and timestamped, show a pattern of non-attendance on your part since February 2020. This includes missed appointments with reminders sent on 04.02.2020, 12.02.2020, 13.08.2021, and a final reminder on 01.10.2021. More importantly, our records indicate a message from you in 2020 expressing your desire not to be seen at our practice and to be removed from our patient list. Subsequently, a charge of £39.40, corresponding to a Band 2 charge, was refunded to you.
The decision to remove your name from our NHS patient list was, therefore, in alignment with both our policy and your expressed wishes. It is crucial for the effective management of our practice that we adhere to these policies, particularly in light of the fact that every missed appointment potentially denies another patient the opportunity to receive necessary dental care.

Negative experience: Absolutely wasted my time I required emergency treatment, and was told to come at 9.30 so they’d have enough time if I needed extra work as I felt I’d need a root canal, the dentist I saw wasn’t able to perform a root canal so they charged me £65 and sent me on my way with an Xray !! UPDATE: I sent my X-ray to another dentist called ‘Love Teeth’ and they told me they didn’t believe I required a root canal - the sensitivity I was feeling was due to the tooth being exposed, they saw me immediately as they empathised with the fact I’d been messed around and I was so stressed as I had an event to attend the following day. Love Teeth carried out a thorough examination and X-rays of the tooth and found there was NO infection and they were able to re-cement my crown no problem. It goes to show it’s important to get a second opinion, because I could have gone down the route of very expensive root canal treatment unnecessarily. I am so grateful to Love teeth they are by far the best dentist I have been to in my entire life. The reason I didn’t go to them first is because Coulsdon dental clinic contacted me first thing in the morning and offered me an immediate appointment. I wish I’d waited for Love teeth to call me back because I ended up spending double the amount of money by wasting my time at Coulsdon Dental Clinic.

Fantastic experience: A friendly and professional dental practice which I have using for over 35years under different management. Both the dentist and hygienist are attentive to my needs, they provide a very high standard of care and offer ongoing advise in looking after my dental health. It was also good to have positive feedback about my oral hygiene in relation to my gum disease. My 3 monthly visits are finally paying off! I would highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Removed me as an NHS patient and said I’m welcome to pay privately, if I want (what do you think?). I have not had missed appointments. I have always turned up for booked appointments. They have never sent me reminders to book for a dental review (only ever sent me e-mails to book a hygienist clean) or informed me that I would be removed as an NHS patient. This is incredibly unprofessional of them. Such a poorly run practice.

NHS dentistry is currently facing an unprecedented challenging situation across the country. With thousands of people on waiting lists in need of care, appointments are in high demand. Missed appointments or short-notice cancellations have real and tangible impacts.
You have missed more than two appointments, which, in accordance with our clearly stated policy, resulted in the allocation of your NHS slot to another patient who could benefit from it. This policy is a responsible practice to maximise the care available to all patients in need, especially considering the extensive waiting lists.
To remain eligible for treatment as an NHS patient, one must have been a regular NHS patient within the last three years and consistently attend appointments as advised by your NHS dentist.
The strain on NHS dentistry has been so significant that many practices up and down the country are handing back their NHS contracts, and a lot of dentists are leaving the profession or moving away from NHS dentistry altogether. It's a challenging time for both providers and patients, and it's within this context that policies like ours are implemented.
Whilst the consequences of this policy may be disappointing to you, it is essential to recognise the broader healthcare landscape and the responsibility we have to serve our community effectively and fairly.
Additionally, I'd like to clarify that all our communications, be it via email, phone, text, or letters, are meticulously logged with timestamps. Serving over 17,000 patients, we've integrated automation to send appointment reminders. However, it remains the patient's responsibility to attend booked appointments. The reminders we dispatch are a courtesy extended to our patients to enhance their experience with us.
Your assertion about being removed as an NHS patient is not without reason or due consideration. If you would reach out to our practice directly with your details, we can provide a comprehensive history of the communications made, along with timestamps and your appointment records.
