Fantastic experience: Cyrus Nikkhah is simply the best who took care of me when I had a dry cavity following extraction at another practice. He was kindness itself, reassuring and imparting his professionalism in the most caring of ways. I was a challenge for him - but always positive even when nature would not play ball. I cannot recommend Cyrus and the Devonshire practice highly enough. Every staff member showed care and respect at all times.

Positive experience: Great Hygienists - pleasant, professional and gentle with your teeth and gums. Slightly overpriced. Bad orthodontist - he said that my teeth can come back to the initial crooked position in something like 10 years after the treatment. This is a red flag, because that depends on how precisely a doctor takes teeth prints, how well he/she will glue the permanent retainers, how well she/he select the right material, etc. For that price you can get treatment at great European or top London orthodontists' who guarantee that their work would last. So it is a total rip off. Other odonthology - good. I found two of the dentists not very gentle, but then came across doctor Guy who is careful, gentle and considerate. I am happy with the service, although it is a bit too overpriced. Overall: good solid service. However, the prices are at high end, but the service is not there yet.

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to Dr Smallwood's expertise on root canal work, she managed to save my tooth, even though it has a hairline crack. And kept me informed during the procedure, makes the whole experience practically enjoyable! :)

Fantastic experience: What a practice! A number of years ago, it was recommended to me following another dentist's disastrous attempt at a root filling, which really hurt. That problem was solved completely painlessly at Devonshire House. Since that time I have visited for a (totally painless) extraction, a few fillings and a number of urgent denture repairs. Every time the care has been magnificent in every way: incredibly fast, brilliant dentistry and a wonderful, gentle, caring--and incredibly EFFICIENT approach--at all times. Every member of the team has always gone the extra mile for me, and I recommend this practice without reservation. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Been struggling with toothache since Christmas, had treatment but pain still persisted. Tooth needed to be extracted but my usual dentist was cautious as I take Warfarin. Was referred to Devonshire house where the tooth was looked at and taken out 2 days later. What a relief. Fantastic experience: I met with Dr Wail Girgis for the first time this week due to a referral from my dentist. As a very nervous and anxious patient I could not have asked for a kinder reception. Wail listened to my concerns and the outcome surpassed my expectations. He was kind, understanding and very honest. I entered thinking none of my teeth could be saved but ended with a treatment plan that involved saving the majority. I also had a CT scan and the nurse who performed it was amazingly kind. Although I have not had any treatment thus far, my initial impressions are of a very professional and kind practice with emphasis on doing what is right for the patient and not doing unnecessary risky procedures. Feeling hopeful and grateful.

Fantastic experience: Another great experience at DH. Denny reconstructed over half of a tooth confident it could be saved. He was informative, calming, and maticulous in ensuring all possible decay was removed and the end result is indistinguishable from the originals. Fantastic experience: Had a great experience with Devonshire helping me solve a tricky issue with my dental implant. I had an expert consultation, clear advice letter, transparent cost estimate and lots of information about the procedure. I was anxious on the day and was given lots of reassurance with the staff being empathetic and offering practical support. The surgery went very well and I had a short recovery time with barely any pain or other discomfort. I received a phone call the following day to check on me and have had follow up appointments scheduled (which were clearly mapped out before I chose to go ahead - no upselling). I was provided with a treatment pack which already included kit and medications, no trips to the pharmacy needed afterwards. Dr Patel is also incredibly affable and pays close attention (remembering little things from previous conversations) which makes each visit more pleasant. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Patel at Coppley Hill, as concerned at gum disease around implants. Given expert feedback & explanation on my cleaning, bone loss [past & likely future] and use of gum gel, special brush, etc.

Fantastic experience: This is an absolutely outstanding dental practice with the reputation of being one of the best in the Eastern Counties. I have been attending this practice for over 20 years travelling from Norwich in order to do so. I was referred to the practice when I suffered a dental emergency when working in Cambridge. My teeth were in a dreadful state and it was almost certain I would have to use dentures which I wanted to avoid at all cost. Between 2002 and 2006 Mr Ian Pearson gradually inserted implants in both my upper and lower jaws ultimately providing me with an almost completely new set of teeth. The process is not cheap but it has to be recognised that dental implants are difficult and there are many many horror stories about disastrous work undertaken by discounters at home and abroad. On just 2 occasions I have suffered dental emergencies. On both occasions the problem was dealt with appropriately and expeditiously. I have never had any problem with the receptionists at Devonshire House. I suspect that on occasions they have to deal with very difficult people but I have never observed any shortcomings during my visits. Over 20 years I have nothing but praise for a remarkable dentist and for the setup at Devonshire House generally. Such is the excellence of the work that over the last 5 years my annual inspection has shown that I have needed no treatment whatsoever. I am not willing to take any chance with my teeth by visiting anybody else despite the inconvenience of the train journey.

Fantastic experience: Update: I received a call from the Reception Manager, who was incredibly kind and apologetic. 4 cancellations in 12 months is still not good, but the follow-up and solution made me revise my rating. Hygienists & dentists are good, but my appointments keep getting cancelled at the Cambridge branch. This has now happened 3 times in a row, so will sadly have to find another practice that has capacity.

Fantastic experience: Dental Nurse Dawn visited my child's pre-school with a fantastic introduction to dentistry. Accompanied by her assistant 'Harry' the horse (with his fantastic set of teeth), Dawn delivered an engaging and varied session familiarising the children with the role of a dentist. She educated them about foods that make your teeth happy or sad, whilst leading an interactive discussion about healthy and unhealthy foods. The children got hands on with some activities and had a little pack to continue the engagement at home. This is a fantastic initiative being offered to many of our local settings. Thank you Dawn for bringing this to the community and engaging our youngest patients, who are just starting on their dentistry journey.

Fantastic experience: I travel 50+ miles to the Devonshire House Practice, several times a year for the expertise of the dental and the hygienist teams. Wail Girgis provided me with full sets of implants 11 years ago. I can say that despite a few relatively minor setbacks (which Wail and Yaz always see me through) I have never looked back. I would honestly say my investment with this practice transformed my life - and that really isn't an over statement.

Fantastic experience: Started going here just before Covid and I cannot recommend them enough. I had a front crown replaced which had been bothering me for years by Assad Khan and his team. From the moment I sat in the chair I was put at ease. Everything was explained fully and I was given a plan which showed what work was to be carried out, how long it would take to complete and the total costs. When the work was completed I was over the moon and still am with how my smile looks now compared to years of looking awful. I go back regularly for check ups and to see the hygienist Leanne who is also amazing at keeping my teeth clean and healthy.

As a healthcare professional myself I can only say that I was treated and looked after very well by Guy . I had to have a tooth extraction. Fantastic experience: Simply wow!…My new dentist Ian and team at Devonshire House have melted away my 45yr long terrible fear of Dentists…in 45 mins! I visited on Tuesday with an abscess pain, I’d been suffering with for weeks. I was scared and tearful at reception, they kindly booked me as a new patient, and arranged for me to see a dentist 2 hours later. My new dentist, listened, calmed and gently checked and suggested immediate treatment. The next 30 mins wasn’t traumatic or painful, it was thorough, gentle and pain free. Who knew, dental treatment could be absolutely pain free, especially root canal! I left walking on air with my next visit already booked. They also informed me that my usual hygienist wasn’t going to be able to make my appointment and asked if I would like to reschedule or keep my appointment and have a different hygienist. Fantastic experience: Very impressed. The reception team were kind and helpful, although the covid screens made it hard to hear them. Cyrus, my dental surgeon was marvellous - calm and reassuring. Not overpromising, but efficiently adapting to the problems he found and solved the whole problem in 30 minutes flat, including new fillings. Very impressive, knowledgeable and competent. It is expensive, of course, but the level of expertise makes it a no-brainer for difficult dental problems. I will be back.

Fantastic experience: After I was let down by my normal dentist, thankfully, Devonshire House could see me for an emergency same day appointment. It was a blessing in disguise. From the initial phone call to the end of my treatment, each and every staff member was attentive, professional and understanding. The treatment by Assad Khan was first class.

During all this time we have been wonderfully looked after, and I can definitely say that we have both been more than satisfied with our treatments there. No comparisons whatsoever with the Doctors, who never seem available!!

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Assad Khan on 30 March 2023 it concerned a second opinion over the quality of work already carried out by an other dentistry here in the UK regarding completed implants /Bridges crowns and the preparation for several bridges where the titanium had already been implanted. My doubts over the quality of work which had already been carried out were confirmed by mister Khan. In several months from now final impressions have to be made to complete the last several bridges by my dentist if I do not get any satisfactory answers to why other materials where being used for making the crowns which I had expected to be made of porcelain I will return for further dentistry back to Devonshire House.

Negative experience: I went this practice based on Google reviews for a consultation on my son’s troubled tooth but thought it was a wrong choice. The dentist didn’t look at the teeth thoroughly and the root canal treatment was recommended without discussing our concerns. They sent the treatment price immediate after consultation. I think they are practicing the dentistry for the sake of money rather then people’s health. Won’t recommend this place to anyone.

Positive experience: I have multiple problems. Consulting at Devonshire House gave me the wholistic review I was seeking, as I am very cautious and fussy. It is a well equipped, well run, clean, pleasant practice, and the dentist I saw is knowledgeable, polite, and nice. He seemed to understand me, agreed with me being cautious, listened, answered my questions, which helped me get on board the treatment plan, as I admit to being rather a bad patient (but teeth are not easy, and I have a number of problems, which hasn't helped my situation, and made me fussy) He put my mind at rest by ticking the boxes I had. Recommended PS All the previous dentist I consulted with were good. I am just a complex case

Negative experience: Had an appointment that lasted only 10 minutes, felt rushed. Nonetheless, I was charged the full £160. I was told everything was fine with my teeth, when I know otherwise. I was asked to come back another day for a "full check up" for an additional cost of £80. Very insulting and a waste of my time.

Fantastic experience: I consulted Mr Pearson on 9/1/23. For reasons well known and others particular to me, I had not been able to do so for over 3 years. He was, as always, excellent in his warm welcome, detailed knowledge of my notes, examination and treatment of a minor crack, the latter repaired in minutes. Thereafter, his post- examination briefing was succinct and utterly reassuring. He and his staff actually make visiting the dentist both enjoyable and rewarding, rare skills indeed!

Fantastic experience: Recently I managed to crack my upper right molar by grinding my teeth in my sleep, I was seen by Dr Cyrus Nikkhah at Devonshire House and after a thorough investigation and an X-Ray we agreed that the tooth would require a crown due to the fracture and that the crack was approaching the nerve inside the tooth, to stop the nerve developing an abscess I would require a Root Canal Treatment first. He kindly referred me to see one of his colleagues at Devonshire House, Dr Elisabeth Smallwood, I have had difficult experiences of Root Canal work in the past, so approached the treatment with a little anxiety. I will reassure you that the anxiety was not warranted as Dr Smallwood provided my Root Canal Treatment totally painlessly with a very calm reassuring manner over 2 appointments, so much so I had to focus to stop myself falling asleep! There was then the crown to provide in order to prevent further fracture of the weakened tooth. This Dr Nikkhah reassured me he could provide in one day with help from the latest scanner and the on-site laboratory, no more messy impressions making me gag or competing for my breathing, I thought it may be too good to be true but how wrong was I. Indeed I had a first appointment at 10:30am a few weeks after the completed Root Canal Treatment, and then returned at 2:30pm for the crown fitting. My teeth were scanned prior to preparing the tooth for the crown then rescanned to measure the new shape of the tooth and my bite, so quick and effortless, this data was emailed to the in house technician. The fitting was so simple, no grinding in of crown to tooth, the precision was incredible. I now have a beautiful new tooth which feels like what nature intended. I should mention that I’m a Dentist myself so in many ways would be the most difficult patient to treat as I understand the complexities so recognise if something is not being done as well as possible. I would recommend if you’re considering a similar treatment to mine then treat yourself to the Gold Standard that Devonshire House provide.

Negative experience: I chose Devonshire House as a ‘new patient’ for an appointment for ongoing mouth tooth pain, as I thought. 8 weeks of this and no result locally. Thinking Devonshire House was a good choice to solve my problem. When the dentist asked me if my visit there for this problem and not really as a new ongoing patient, his interest in me diminished, he couldn’t solve the problem. Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Devonshire House to meet with Weil Girgis. I had been referred for some specialist implant work by my own dentist. First impressions were very good, a smart looking building, easy to find and with plenty of parking. A charming receptionist met me and showed me through to the waiting room, made all the more welcoming with a living flame fire. Mr Girgis came through to greet me, right on time. I'm getting on a little and had spent the first half of my life dealing with a severe dental phobia, so lots of neglect, lost teeth and bone problems. The second half of my life has been trying to hang on and make the best of what I have left. I have absolutely no fear now and have happily undergone many procedures, however, I am embarrassed at the condition of my teeth, but 100% wanted to talk about what can be done to assist me. Mr Girgis is such a charming personable and extremely knowledgeable dentist, he showed me exactly what could be done and I left feeling optimistic and reassured. My appointment for the treatment was booked there and then and in a good timescale for me. Highly recommended, especially if you need some reassurance.

I had been struggling to find a practice willing to assist me with an orthodontic retainer (obtained elsewhere) and Devonshire House Dental Practice was willing to assist me with no long explanation needed. Fantastic experience: I recently had an implant done with Dr. Girgis. I had waited a very long time to be able to have the procedure between being pregnant and moving to a different country. I was also very particular because I wanted to make sure I picked the best possible care. On top of this I am a VERY anxious dental patient due to some previous horrible experiences. I can say without a doubt that Dr. Girgis was the best decision I could have made. He is incredible talented at what he does and I am very happy with the results in both function and aesthetics. However, he is also a genuinely good human being and being in his care made me feel very comfortable. I would recommend him 100%.
