My dentist; Paul, always explains things, makes sure I’m comfortable if I have work done, and answers all my many questions. I moved away from the area but I travel back for appointments as I wouldn’t want to leave my care with anyone else.

He created a dental plan for me to fix one problem at a time and is the loveliest dentist I’ve ever had! Patrick and his staff always make me feel welcome. It's nice to be recognised, addressed by my name, and they always remember details about myself and my life and take the time to ask me how things are going. Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Backwell Dental highly enough, a fantastic practice and a brilliant service! The clinic building itself is lovely and the onsite parking is handy. Once inside the staff are friendly and really competent. Not only was the dentist running on-time, he saw me early! Chris gave me a really thorough check up, and the treatment he recommended was done with the utmost care and gentleness. His bedside manner is excellent, leaving you feeling reassured that you are indeed in good hands. All in all a great dentist at a lovely practice!

Fantastic experience: I enjoy coming here. The staff are all lovely. When I was working I started to have Saturday morning appointments with Paul Buckley, whom I'd known since he was a student. Very Convenient. I'm still very satisfied, and the work he does is of the highest quality. I would never feel the need to go anywhere else. I posted the above review some time ago but feel that I need to add a few further thanks and comments about a recent event. A week ago I awoke with a swollen and tender gum; this worsened over 24hrs or so. I phoned the practice and to summarise- Appointment with Paul B same day, diagnosis made of 2 apical abscesses on a molar from 40+ year-old root fillings, 3 days antibiotics giving considerable relief and to prepare for extraction under local anaesthetic. Second appointment for painless, "semi-surgical" extraction, 2 more days antibiotics, no further problems. All done in five days. Now considering the best long-term solution for the gap. Brilliant! Absolute satisfaction. Just had routine check-up following above. All nicely healed and I’m good for the next six months. Very happy. June 2024, another routine check-up. Pleasant as can be.! See you all next time. Routine check-up on 14/12/24 revealed damage to an upper premolar with very old amalgam filling-40-50years. Fragment of tooth slightly mobile. Given appt for 17/12 when I had old restoration removed and replaced with new composite. Quick and painless. Looks great. I like the way that Paul B is a superb technician and doesn’t push me into having “unnecessary “ work. Thanks again.

Fantastic experience: A visit to the dentist involving treatment I confess is not my favourite place, not because of the superb service from Chris but due to previous methods of dentistry as a child in the 1960's which was a traumatic experience for me. I'm lucky to have found a patient and caring person who understands my fear which sadly I still feel even now but he always puts me at ease and makes me feel more relaxed which is basically down to my trust in him. Fantastic experience: Going to The Dentist is never the harrowing experience it used to be since I’ve been coming here. The practice is lovely and clean, and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Everything is easy. I’m a nervous patient so I’ve even been given a set of stress teeth to squeeze when the occasion called. I really can’t think of any negatives.

Fantastic experience: Backwell Dental practice does not undertake NHS work to my knowledge.. It is Well organised, good advance notification of appointment etc. Only one issue raised in I should use an electric tooth brush. Costly and not currently sold by the Backwell Dental practice. Patrick has an excellent knowledge of all types of Dental work and I would recommend him to anyone requiring private non NHS work.

Fantastic experience: Updated 2024. My dentist since 2010. Excellent practice. Mostly private (but good value) but took my kids on as NHS list which was great! Can't speak highly enough of the professionalism of all the team. The practice invests in state of the art equipment and training for diagnostic and treatments. I actually enjoy visiting and can safely say the services represent good value for money. They publish their prices on their website, but a check up (£60) and hygienist (£100) dual appointment cost me £160 in Sep 24'.

Positive experience: Had dental hygiene appointment with Tamsin. She came highly recommended and did not disappoint as she was very pleasant and careful not to hurt me. I do not like the new water jet way of cleaning plaque though and every time I go for dental hygiene the practices seem to be different. Backwell Dental Care is a great practice, very well run and with excellent practitioners.

Fantastic experience: Patrick is the most amazing dentist I have ever met, and given I have spent tens of thousands on having every one of my teeth capped, implanted etc, I have known a few. I have never felt any pain in anything he has done, from injecting through to even drilling into bone. He has a greater ownership for my teeth than I do, and his attention to detail re getting the right shade/fit and bite is awesome. I look at going to the dentist as a real pleasure, because I know the experience will be trouble free, and I will come out looking and feeling even better.

Positive experience: I was disappointed that my appointment yesterday was cancelled, (a computer glitch!), and although I eventually saw Patrick who was his usual professional self. I was made to feel that I was responsible for the cancellation, though I had received a confirmation by email. While I was waiting in reception, the same scenario occurred for another client Please look into this and stop encouraging people to book an appointment on line until this issue is solved.

Fantastic experience: 5.0 /5 I have been coming to Backwell Dental Care since 2009. During this time I have had extensive treatment including dental implants. I cannot rate the care and after care highly enough - it has been excellent. Reception should also receive a five star rating.

On this occasion the hygienist finished by giving me a sample of the two intra dental brushes that would be most suitable for me and also recommending the super floss for my bridge. When I first went to this dentist I couldn't really walk through the door I was so frightened. Due to bad experience with NHS. The receptionists were so understanding and friendly, each time I went , I was treated like person and they explained everything. Patrick was patient and understanding of my phobia and explained each step to me. There was never any rush made sure I couldn't feel anything so had no pain. A tooth broke in half on Boxing Day so ,on the 27th, I phoned around looking for emergency treatment with no success until coming across Backwell Dental Care. The receptionist was so helpful and offered me an appointment that very same afternoon. At 3.30 pm I was in the dentist’s chair, receiving first-class treatment. I shall never use any other practice in future!
