Negative experience: I called today to get an emergency appointment as I have a broken tooth, causing me extreme pain in my jaw and temple. I was told I had to pay upfront to even book an appointment. I don't get paid till Friday, so unfortunately I couldn't book...think I'll look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I have just been to Market Weighton (Genix) dentists. For several years I have put up with a broken tooth on my top plate. It meant on photographs I wouldn’t smile as I didn’t have a full top row teeth. After a few trips to Genix I finally went last Saturday to collect my new plate. A great big thank you to dentists for giving me my smile back. Absolutely thrilled.

Positive experience: Overall they have been pretty good there and have no issues with their service. It's on your doorstep and easy access and parking is available too.

Positive experience: the dental nurse was very polite and caring, but the dentist came over as very timid, which didn't give me a lot of convidence. I didn't feel the 10 min consultation was value for money, as she advised a deep clean, but did no scale and polish which would have possibly have helped, and should have been part of the price of the checkup.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had to have 3 extractions before having braces on. The dentist couldn’t have been more patient, but also efficient at getting them out!! Very clearly explained procedure and put her at ease. A good experience for an unpleasant procedure.

Positive experience: As is usually the case. I was delighted by the experience provided by Genix and Aditi Padhbiri in particular. On this occasion, I was delayed by roadworks but, despite being 20 minutes late for my appointment, I was seen promptly. I reluctantly opted for an extraction but was treated with care and respect during a fairly unpleasant procedure. It was probably inevitable that I did not think to ask basic questions like 'how long does the anaesthetic take to wear off?' or 'what sort of post-operative pain am I likely to suffer?'or even 'is removal of the tooth going to stop the pain and discomfort?'. A brief guidance note was given to me but I would have liked a little more explanatory detail. Overall, as an NHS patient, I was quite pleased that the bill from the previous consultation and extraction came to about £70

Negative experience: Saw a dentist I hadn't seen before. She counted my teeth wrong and then I had x-rays done. She didn't get the right teeth on the picture but then said she wanted to do fillings in the tooth she couldn't see.

Fantastic experience: First visit. Cannot fault it from the parking, the welcome, to the treatment and payment. As good of an experience as I’ve had at the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I don’t know anyone who enjoys going to the dentist but Dr Padbidri is so efficient, it’s done in no time at all. The whole team is so kind and patient and every step of the treatment is explained.

Negative experience: Got sent to them from NHS 111 as an emergency appointment. Came at the allotted time, they were 30 minutes late which I'm happy to look past. They took me in, did one X-ray, then said I needed the two teeth removing or a root canal was needed. I said OK, I'd have the root canal. They then said they would not do it as it is not covered on the NHS. This is not true. I rang 111 a few months ago regarding a tooth, they booked me in and did a root canal under NHS this was through blossom street dentist York, this dentist was lovely and had absolutely no issues. They then said they would not do my root canal. This is wrong as they should not be sending NHS patients there to then force private treatment on them. They then charged me £27.40 for one x-ray and some bogus advice, I feel scammed. Definitely do not recommend!

Fantastic experience: I have had two ‘unpleasant’ procedures in the past by a previous dentist in the practice one of which caused me to have a panic attack and left me very reluctant and anxious to go through the same thing again. Yesterday I arrived feeling stressed and scared about having to go through this again but I had a totally different experience with Therapist, Shafna Shaji. She was empathetic, gentle and kept stopping to make sure I was ok. The procedure was done without anaesthetic injections and no pain at all. Previously I had to have my full mouth anaesthetised!!! I was so surprised that the same treatment could actually be done without pain or injections. I can now visit the dentist without feeling anxiety and stress. Thank you so much.

Negative experience: This new dentist was rough and somewhat rushed! I pay for 2 check ups and 2 scale and polish each year! I got a rough scale and no polish, I had to insist on the polish! I also had to move the overhead light twice and then I was told I needed a x-ray which I had done when I joined the practice less than a year ago, the x-ray showed nothing wrong as per the last one and then they called me to say I had to pay for the unnessesary x-ray. I expect, so much more as a private client and was treated so much better by the previous dentist but this one was rough and I wasn't convinced she knew what she was doing!!!

Fantastic experience: Once again Genix came to my rescue with a very speedy appointment to sort out my painful mouth. Reception very friendly, helpful and efficient. Dr. Padbidri is an incredible dentist and immediately took control of the situation and extracted the tooth painlessly and fuss free. I am so grateful for this dental practice.

Positive experience: The Market Weighton surgery is great - friendly, efficient and punctual. What is NOT great is receiving so many emails and texts from your central admin before an appointment, including two requests to fill in forms after this had been done. It just gets annoying.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. From reception to seeing the dentist. Practical common sense approach. 4/4/25:- Update. Had to come back today on a 111 referral again for a tooth extraction. Saw a lady dentist who I saw last time. (Apologies I didn't know your name) Literally the quickest and trouble free tooth removal I've ever had. This may sound odd but I didn't even know that the anesthetic was working. I didn't have the normal face full of it numbness that you normally have. The advice was there, my questions answered. Just a shame I can't get into here on a permanent basis. If you end up here for a 111 emergency or otherwise you can relax knowing your in good hands.

Aditi always puts me at ease and has an fantastic empathy with patients explaining everything as she goes. She is great with our children but firm enough to tell them if they need to improve their dental hygiene. We are so lucy to have Aditi as our dentist.

Fantastic experience: I'm not particularly fearful of going to a dentist. Afterall, the fact one has to have mouth open and are at the mercy of the professional ability of the dentist is something we all have to face. However, the care I receive is extremly important to me. I can honestly say on each occasion that I have attended. The staff in every aspect have treated me with the highest level of consideration. Each treatment has been carried out pain free and in record time. So, to suffer only the fact of feeling like you have an over grown apple in your mouth along with the subconscious worry of thinking i might be dribbling, is nothing compared to what they have to do to administer treatment. Absolutely 1st class service.

Negative experience: Horrendous experience, went as an emergency patient via 111, had to have tooth extracted on the right hand side upper, had numbing injections, then the dentist proceeded to extract the wrong tooth on the wrong side. I had to physically stop her before the wrong tooth was extracted without any anaesthetic. This left me very shaken up and not happy at all.

Negative experience: I have been a private patient with Genix Market Weighton for 6 years now. Out of 5 appointments 3 have been cancelled at short notice. The last one with 45 minutes notice. They charged my wife for an "emergency appointment" that was booked 2 weeks in advance. They often do not answer phones. Reception is unhelpful, verging on rude sometimes. I have also been sent emails threatening reduced service is I do not book regular checkups. Considering the high prices for private service I am taking my business elsewhere.

Negative experience: My son has been waiting for a new nhs dentist to do a root canal. He went yesterday and we’re very grateful to have a nhs dentist again. However, the way she spoke to him about brushing his teeth etc was far from kind or satisfactory.
