Fantastic experience: Dr.Bogdanis an outstanding Dentist, I am retired and have lived all over the UK so I have been to lots of dentists over the UK during my life. Dr.Bogdan is outstanding in the way he treats people, the treatment he gives you is perfect. I have seen emergency dentists at the skipton practice and treatment was very good. When I phone for an appointment I alway received one when I want it the correct time and date. They bend over backwards to make sure the whole family receive the correct appointments and treatment. the practice is better now than it has ever been, except for reception, the part time lady is outstanding in the way she treats you. But when one of the dental dentists/nurse is on the reception she is very rude on the phone and to your face,, I know she is from another country but this is the UK we like and expect good manners and politeness please. So take a leaf out of the way Dr.Bogdan treats people, his way is how we like to b e treated.

Fantastic experience: I was really impressed by Madeeha Shoukat, she was very professional and talked through everything with me and was upfront with costs. The clinic is also really efficient at booking appointments with little wait time. Not the cheapest but you get a great service, would recommend Madeeha in particular.

Fantastic experience: This was the only dentist that would even talk to me when I moved to the area 3 years ago. I have been going there as an NHS patient since . I have always found all the staff to be polite and helpful and the dentist considerate and professional with a good sense of humour. The main reason for this review though is that a few days ago I had to accompany an elderly friend there for a check up. He is 90 years old and was very nervous as he suspected that he may have to have quite a bit of work done. From the moment we arrived he was really well treated, they made sure he did not have to go upstairs to the surgery but was shown to a seat in reception immediately adjacent to the dentist. I was allowed to go into the room with him and saw just how well he was received. As it turned out there was not much work required, just a filling. The dentist explained everything to him and also to me so there was no misunderstanding. When it came to booking the appointment for this treatment the receptionist was most helpful in arranging it for a date and time that was convenient for me to accompany him. Thank you so much

Now we have been accepted on Acorn dentists in Skipton and we were over the moon! They were very thorough and very nice and I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Thank you Acorn dentist!

Negative experience: I registered on-line at Acorn as they were taking on NHS patients, I didn't get any notification that I was registered, so I e-mailed to ask - the reply was 'Yes you are now registered under NHS' and left a number to call to make an appointment. I called last week to arrange a check up and was told that they were full for NHS patients now and that I would have to pay private as I didn't arrange a check up immediately - this was not mentioned in the e-mail and I wouldn't even have had the e-mail in the first place if I hadn't asked if I was even registered. The receptionist was saying sorry but they have had quite a few different receptionist and that people were off sick - I'm sorry but this is not my problem and It is very unprofessional to blame staff members for the practice issues - Luckily I am still registered at my old dentist so will not be recommending Acorn to anyone. It's an absolute outrage that they just leave you hanging and do not communicate things properly to people. The private rates they charge are ridiculous. If there was a minus star I would be clicking on that - begrudgingly I have to give them 1 star - but it should be minus 5 star.

Negative experience: If you are 2 minutes late they will refuse to see you as it makes them late. I went with my son's yesterday and we were still sat waiting 40 min after the first appointment time. Despite nobody being in the room for 20 minutes out of the 40. The dentist and nurse were chatting and laughing. I had to leave in the end as I had to be somewhere but the receptionist was very apologetic and booked us another appointment. ⭐ The manager of the dentist called to follow this review up and she had assured me that training will be put in place and if the dentist is running late the receptionist will inform us when we check in. Again very apologetic and helpful.
