Negative experience: Dear Westmount Dental Team, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding the unacceptable service I received at your practice on 21st July. I had an appointment booked for 1pm under what I understood to be my correct name. However, upon arrival — despite being only 9 minutes late due to the lack of parking at your premises and having to walk — I was informed that my appointment could not be honoured. There are yellow lines around all blocks of the building and it was my first time at the practice. I have a business myself and understand that when someone no shows for an appointment there is a charge, however 9minutes and no booking terms and conditions being sent out with no agreement to this policy on my behalf, it is outrageous to charge me £100 for a service I did not receive. You are profiting from my misfortune of not finding a parking space and the manager would not even come and explain this situation to me as to why I would not receive my payment back or a reschedule of the appointment If you are reading this, do not go to Westmount Dental as the moral compass of the company is all wrong I would like to highlight the following points of concern: • I was not provided with any appointment confirmation, correspondence, or your terms and conditions either by email or text prior to attending • The appointment was incorrectly booked under the wrong name, which I was not made aware of until I arrived - (melissa white)? Which is why I have probably not received any email or text with any information of my appointment? • The lack of onsite parking was not communicated, nor were alternative arrangements suggested, leaving me no choice but to find parking further away and walk to the practice, which contributed to my slight delay • I was met with no understanding or flexibility despite these issues being entirely outside of my control. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of customer care demonstrated and I feel my time and custom were treated with little regard. I would like to obtain a full refund of my treatment payment of £100 due to the fact I have not received any treatment nor was told anything about a late fee. I did show up to the appointment late by 9minutes but this was due to the lack of parking at your practice and it being my first appointment there. I would have expected some human decency and a good will gesture to have been applied to my situation due to keeping a long term private paying customer. I expect a written response to this complaint within 7 working days, and a clear explanation of how you intend to address this matter and improve your processes to avoid similar experiences for future patients. Negative experience: I have been with this dentist for a number of years. I have had 4 consecutive appointments cancelled by the practice without reason. I was not contacted to explain why the appointments had been cancelled yet when I cancelled my direct debit I was contacted within 2 hours. I was also not informed there would be a 'setting up/admin fee' for the direct debit. The place has never been the same since Mr Macdonald left.
Fantastic experience: staff are always really helpful with me. always great service.

Negative experience: Waste of time this practice Made an appointment 3 weeks in advance for a broken retainer. The day of the appointment I revived a call to say it wasn’t an nhs issue and I’d have to pay private. I declined Made an appointment with another practise and had the retained fixed under nhs charges as it was an nhs issue Westmount only want private patients.
Negative experience: I've been attending this dentist surgery since 1995 and my daughter since 2010, and we both have paid for or treatments. But now we've both received letters asking for £20 a month to join a membership. Absolute disgrace
Negative experience: After my husband has been with this dentist for years. Just received a letter saying they can’t afford to keep him on as a NHS patient but if he pays £20 a month he can stay. Absolutely shocking

Negative experience: Awful dentists. They've kicked my whole family off their NHS books as they've gone fully private. They had the cheek to put a direct debit form in the same letter. Horrid.

Due to the national NHS dental crisis the practice is no longer able to operate a service under an NHS contract. It has not been an easy decision to stop NHS services, however, due to ongoing challenges with government funding it is no longer sustainable. Negative experience: Really disappointed to find out that they are no longer offering NHS dental services. I have been coming here since I was a small child when Mr McDonald had the practice....so approx 36 years. I moved out of the area quite a few years ago, however I remained loyal and continued to come here. I'm really disappointed in this decision... sadly not everyone can afford monthly payments. I appreciate it's a tough time for you too, but to just take all NHS patients off your books is shocking. No grace time was even given to try and find somewhere else. I would have gave 0 Stars but that wasn't an option.

Fantastic experience: If dentistry was an Olympic sport then this practice would have won a gold medal today. I phoned at 8.00am and needed an emergency appointment. Last night I had accidentally split one of my upper front teeth in two - somehow the two parts were still attached, making eating, or anything else, too painful. I was given a 10.00am appointment with dentist, Gavin Hudson, who, after carefully examining my teeth decided the split tooth was too damaged to be saved. The tooth was painlessly removed by 10.10am and I was back in the car, pain-free, relieved and grateful by 10.20am. To be honest, this kind of service isn't unusual for this practice and dentist, Gavin Hudson, is the best dentist my wife and I have had in our 62 years.
Positive experience: As an extremely nervous patient I was put at ease by all concerned and I no longer dread and get over the top anxious about an appointment.
Fantastic experience: Gavin Hudson always makes you feel at home and has a very professional approach. I’m not a fan of dental appointments but he always makes you feel relaxed.
Fantastic experience: The receptionist was very welcoming when I first arrived at the practice, my appointment was with Gavin who always has a good welcome and makes you feel at ease in the surgery , his nurses are really nice with big smiles. I also had to see the Therapist for a replacement filling and she cleaned my teeth , all in all must say she was excellent with my treatment put my mind to ease her nurse was very good also . A very good experience , a huge thankyou to the team at Westmount dental surgery.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is friendly and helpful. They are kind an caring and listen to your needs to help you make decisions about your treatment and try to make you feel at ease. I hate going to the dentist but would definitely recommend coming here. Gavin is lovely and explains everything he does so there are no unpleasant surprises even when sometimes the news is bad.

Negative experience: I had two compost bounding containers n two front teeth as I had cracked it due to a fall it’s been two year ago. I have now been told I need to pay more money to get it removed . When I first got treatments to fix my front tooth I complained about a funny tingle sensation in my tooth but was told it would go away once composite was done a bit sensitive maybe. The tingling continued I was so told the tooth would not crack unfortunately two year later the tooth has but on the back and causing me to cut my tounge am paying insurance but it’s saying it won’t cover what is neede. Why was the tooth not checked before the compousite was first done now It’s cost at least 3 grand for two teeth if not more my confidence has gone.

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff, lots of treatment options. Reception staff, dentists & dental assistants all really friendly & nice. Mr Hudson is a great dentist. Had him years ago as a child at another dentists & is so nice, puts you at ease & really professional & really happy when got him as my dentist again & for my children. Couldn’t think if better dentist to have for my children. All The staff are great with children too. Nice and clean environment & always happy to help. You also get reminders of when appointments are due or if one is upcoming so you know when appointment is due. Which is really helpful.

Fantastic experience: I'm a person who suffers with very bad anxiety where the dentist is concerned my experience here was comfortable pain free quick and I'm very happy with my experience corina was excellent explaining everything to me my front teeth are now perfect I'm very happy and now have my confidence back I will be going back to this dentist for any future treatment as I'm am no longer scared of the dentist with my great experience here
Negative experience: Needed a clean no cover put on for my clothes no safety glasses like I wd normally get only seem interested to give me information for private and expensive treatment to fill my gaps expression used do I want a ferrari or a scooter not what I have been used to disappointed.

Negative experience: The attitude to the client and management here is poor. My Mom and I had two appointments one by one. Following the telephone conversation it was 12:30 and 12:50. When I arrived in time for 12:30, I was refused in seeing the doctor and accused in missing the appointment, which they had scheduled for 12:15. Despite my explanations and showing the phone proving that I didn’t get notifications other than 12:30 they wanted to charge £50 more to reschedule this appointment. That’s ridiculous and outrageous! £50 and 15 min check-up appointment costs more than their client and reputation! I don’t recommend this Dental Surgery, they are completely unable to handle misunderstandings or even minor situations like mine. The dental service was okay but not so outstanding to stay in this surgery be treated like this.

Fantastic experience: Being a very apprehensive patient I found the whole experience to be stress free. Although I have been with Westmount for a number of years my former dentist has moved on. I was met by a cheerful dental assistant who took me to the surgery to meet Gavin who immediately put me at ease with his calm and reassuring manner. All in all a pleasant experience....recognizing I am a child of the 50s....and the equipment used on me then is now in Beamish Museum!!! See you in 6 months time. Thoroughly recommend the practice.

They charge me £1300 something but I’m not happy with them. £1300 pound for an artificial tooth seriously! I just gave them my 1 month salary . When I talk or eat THAT ARTIFICIAL TOOTH get removed automatically from its place. One day I was talking with my friend and that tooth came out of my mouth. I just feel so ashamed. I lost my face personality. I visit last time for some solution but they didn’t listen me properly and behave rudely.
