Fantastic experience: I can only afford NHS treatment but cannot imagine receiving a better, more courteous and professional service. Excellent.

Negative experience: My first time seeing this business as a private client, check up was with a dentist named Kat at 8:30am 18-7-25. I explained my goals were to address some rear tooth pain, which I suspected may have been cavities and I wanted three or four Emax crowns on the front top teeth. Three x-rays were completed and a mouth examination. After a visual inspection and review of the x-rays, it was confirmed I had no cavities and the tooth pain was likely due to me grinding my teeth at night. The dentist recommended a night-guard which would cost £180.00 I asked for details about this product and how it differed from a boxer's gum shield (I used to box many years ago). Kat seemed unable to give clear reasons why the product she promotes would be better - I advised I need to understand what makes this better as it is more than ten times the price of a gum shield - if I can see a significant advantage to justify the extra investment, then I will consider it (at this stage it felt like Kat was getting angry). I asked to see one, Kat said she had none to show me. I advised that as a customer, it would be helpful if they had a physical product for me to examine, before I can make a purchasing decision. Kat clearly objected to my choice of words and said "You are not a customer, you are a patient" at which point her assistant found one in the drawer - I said this is very similar to a gum shield. I argued that she is trying to sell me a product, which makes me a customer as I am paying their business. My comments were treated with utter contempt and Kat responded "I am not trying to sell you anything, I am a Doctor". I never questioned or asked for her professional qualifications, which made her reply a little odd. Apparently Kat does not do well with being questioned or explaining the features and benefits of products that their business offers. Her dismissive attitude, argumentative and aggressive replies alienated me. Due to Kat's unusual style of dealing with customers, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Had my regular Hygienist appointment today and on entering reception was treated by two friendly and polite young receptionists who made me feel like a long lost friend was seen on time by Hygienist who put me at ease and explained everything she did it is a pleasure to go to such helpful and friendly dentist thank you to all at Benfleet dental practice

Fantastic experience: Visited Benfleet dental centre for my quarterly hygienist appointment and annual dentist check up. Hygienist was Kim is always cheerful, professional and caring and puts you at ease. No one enjoys the dentist! Due to sensitive teeth she is happy to use the scrapper rather than the drill. Both receptionists were chatty, engaging and helpful. Luckily I only needed the dentist for a check but the dentist was professional and efficient. Overall a good dental experience.

Fantastic experience: No Issues at all. Were running 10 mins late but once in the chair all was well. The team that saw me were both courteous and very thorough in their examination of my mouth. Would highly recommend. Most helpful. However, Having been advised I need an extraction I was extremely disappoint with the next phase. Because of my heart I was told I needed a letter from Southend Hospital. They in turn said I didn't need one and that the dental practice should have all procedures in place to facilitate this extraction. My appoint was cancelled as the dentost I was booked with refuse to undertake the extraction. I asked to speak to the practice manager and was informed she was off sick. The receptionist who was attempting to help told me she would speak to the practice owner and that he would be in contact with me. Hopefully things will work out...................

Positive experience: Lovely people very happy with them all shame about the stairs managed them but wish it had been a ground floor surgery.

Fantastic experience: As always, our Dentist was warm and friendly as well as being thorough and explaining the details of everything she was doing. This is so important for those feeling anxious and for my children, to build a positive experience of dental practice and good oral health habits. I highly recommend this particular dentist though I unfortunately can't remember her name to mention her. She is excellent!

Fantastic experience: This was part 1 of 2 booked appointments to replace a crumbled crown. Appointment on time, all procedures explained by dentist and she answered my questions. All preparation dentristy achieved and in 2 weeks time will have new crown fitted. Excellent professional skills and good team work with the nurse who assisted. Have saved up for the cost as am retired but I left the surgery knowing I am in good hands.

Negative experience: Do not go to this dental practice. Practice manager is beyond rude! Reception cancelled my dentist appointment then blamed me for not turning up! I tried to complain about the rudeness to the owner, if I’m being honest not even sure the email reached the owner. They basically replied to my email saying they didn’t want me to come back and took me off the NHS books. Utterly disgusting I have 3 children! Still looking into my rights as I’m sure you need to be given notice before they can do that. Do not waste your time here!!
