Negative experience: Hygiene appointment was just 10-15 mins - felt very rushed, lots of blood. They try to get you to do X rays etc saying that’s the best way to confirm the cavity but in reality they just want you to pay more. Only dentist I’ve ever seen who’s asking for that - yet 2 times I’ve been there nothing was confirmed from this X rays. All feel really really rushed. When I asked receptionist if that’s okay to get hygiene appointment in 10 mins she said it’s absolutely fine - ok but why am I paying for rushed short service? No explanation. I’m not using them again and don’t recommend anyone

Negative experience: I have always been impressed with the high level of clinical care and I have received over the years and, as a result, I have recommended the practice to a number of friends and colleagues. Dr Parella is my dentist at Farringdon, and I am delighted by his care, attention to detail and the highly professional service he provides. But despite all this, as a result of frankly unacceptable behaviour by the practice manager, I am considering leaving the practice. I understand that as a member of the dental plan, the idea is to see the same dentist to ensure continuity of care and the best level of treatment. I understand it is also a business decision as affects how the dentists are paid. However, recently when my check up was due, it was not possible to find an appointment time with Dr Parella that fit in with my schedule - I have a full-time job and two small children. So I was offered an appointment with a different dentist. I attended my appointment and she provided an excellent service. Part of her diagnosis was a filling which I was to schedule as soon as possible. When it came time to schedule the hour-long appointment I rang the practice and was told by the manager that the week(w/c 30th June) which I was hoping to have my filling done that dentist was on holiday, so I would have to wait. I told the manager that it wasn’t my “real” dentist, as I had been seeing Dr Parella for some years consistently. He was not on holidays during this week. The manager told me I was now not allowed to see Dr Parella anymore as the other dentist was now my dentist. She had diagnosed the filling and she had to perform it, and since she was on holiday, I would have to wait until she was back. When I explained that I was happy - in fact more than happy - to see Dr Parella, who was available at the exact time I needed, she told me repeatedly that I could not book in with him anymore. She also criticised my insistence that I wanted to see Dr Parella, saying “maybe he won’t think you’ll need a filling and then your time will have been wasted”. In all honesty I would rather come in and see a dentist I know and trust who then informs me that I don’t need a filling, than potentially having an unnecessary filling. Her tone grew increasingly rude and hostile, but throughout I explained that I was not going to leave the conversation without an appointment with my regular dentist who I wanted to see. Looking at your website I can see the values: To treat everyone as we would expect to be treated ourselves To respect and value our patients and colleagues While your practice manager was no doubt following procedure, she has an absolute incapacity to understand the patient’s perspective and is an absolute embarrassment to the hard-working courteous clinicians who she effectively represents. Ultimately she allowed me to book in with Dr Parella, who was available at the exact date and time I needed and told me she was doing me a favour. Honestly I have no words. All I wanted was an appointment that worked with my schedule with the dentist I have been seeing for a number of years. This is not a favour, this is basic service and I did not expect this. Extremely poor.

Twice now they’ve seen me as an emergency 111 patient and both times have gone above and beyond and I’ve received a superior level of care. On one occasion saving me from possible septis as I couldn’t secure a dental appointment with my regular dentist for months and a root canal gone wrong had turned into a near life threatening infection: Azlan on reception warmly. welcomed me on arrival and both dentists I saw were absolutely top notch. This last time Dr. Mina whom I’m so grateful to have seen at short notice treated the tooth before it became severe like my first vidit. Thank you all so much. Negative experience: Very disappointing experience. I was on the practice’s dental plan for nearly a year and paid the subscription fee as routine check-ups and hygiene visits to be included. Despite this, I was charged separately for having 1 appointment and hygiene that should have been fully covered under the plan. The quality of care was also poor — especially the hygienist treatment, which felt rushed and unprofessional. I cancelled my subscription shortly afterward and went to another dentist for a second opinion, where I received significantly better care. The combination of substandard treatment and unjustified extra charges reflects a serious lack of professionalism and respect for patients. I would not recommend this practice.

Negative experience: The most superficial hygiene I had. Completed in 15 minutes despite booking the longer session. Upon checkout, I was charged an additional fee for being a new customer. I was told that it is not chair time but service - well in my world the two are slightly correlated aren't they? Need to redo somewhere else for obvious reason. Suggest you save your money.

Fantastic experience: I have just been to see Jeanie Suvan who is a periodontal hygienist. Have come back to Malmin in the last year after being mucked about and finding it hard to even get an appointment as my local dentist. I was told that I need a thorough dental clean and had one treatment which didn't seem that out of the ordinary but today I saw Jeanie Suvan and it actually feels like something rather substantial has been done. Loving her work.

Negative experience: At Canary Wharf and Holborn, the following policies are clearly applied: A full assessment is mandatory before any procedure, including fillings. Emergency fees are only charged for same-day or next-day appointments to new or existing patients. X-rays are carried out at the discretion of the dentist if clinically necessary. At Farringdon, however, none of these standards were followed in my case. There appears to be not only a lack of policy consistency across clinics, but also a worrying level of confusion and misinformation provided by the staff — particularly the branch manager. Last year, I called to book a check-up and explicitly requested that enough time be allocated during the appointment to allow for a tooth filling on the same day, to avoid multiple visits. This year, I booked a check-up along with an oral hygiene appointment, fully expecting the standard £45 check-up fee ( plus £85 hygiene ) based on my previous experience. However, I was surprised to be informed that I had not received a full assessment during last year’s visit and that this would now be required. The manager claimed that last year’s appointment didn’t include a full assessment, which would require a check-up with X-rays — but then stated this year's appointment was a full assessment and X-rays "if needed." This contradiction suggests a lack of understanding of the clinic's own procedures.Most surprisingly, the manager claimed that I had called a year ago requesting an urgent appointment because my dentist was away. This is absolutely untrue. In fact, my appointment last year was booked 12 days in advance — clearly not an emergency. The attempt to justify the emergency fee by referencing an inaccurate recollection from over a year ago is both unprofessional and unacceptable. The manager also informed me that the £70 fee is a flat rate charged to any patient who has not had regular appointments at the practice, regardless of whether the appointment is urgent. This directly contradicts the policy at your other branches, where such a fee is only applied to emergency bookings made at short notice by new or existing patients. Additionally, when I booked my most recent appointment, I was quoted one price by a staff member and a different price by the manager for the same treatments — hygiene and check-up — resulting in a clear fee discrepancy. The staff member clearly mentioned that certain treatments — such as air polish — were optional and I was booked for check up and hygiene. However, the manager later wrote that the appointment included check-up, hygiene, air polish, and X-rays. By presenting it this way, it appears as though these treatments were part of a standard package — when in fact they are not. This misrepresentation is misleading and further adds to the confusion around pricing and booking transparency. I have written communications showing multiple contradictions in her statements.This inconsistency has created confusion and further undermines confidence in how this branch operates. To make matters worse, I completed the required health and medical form prior to the appointment, yet when the hygienist reviewed it with me in person, it was evident that none of my information had been updated. This raises concerns about how seriously patient documentation is being handled. I want to acknowledge that the dentists I’ve seen have been professional and competent. However, the same cannot be said for the reception and administrative side at the Farringdon branch. The inconsistency in pricing, poor communication, and contradictory information I received from the manager do not meet the standard of care I expect from your clinics.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love coming here. The best dentist I've ever been to. I've been coming to see Sarah Haffner since 2010 as my dentist and she is incredible. I've never come across a better dentist. The hygienists here are also excellent. Reception staff, the whole place is amazing. I always look forward to coming here after 15 years I love it as much as when I first came.

Fantastic experience: I came to Dr. Sarah Haffner about three years ago, and my teeth have been on such a great journey since. She helped with a really painful toothache (a tooth that has been a diva since I was young and she’s done so much to help save it), gave amazing advice on straightening, gum health, and overall aesthetics. Honestly, she saved my teeth, I get compliments on them now LOL. She always wants the best and makes sure I’m fully happy with the result, for example colour, before proceeding with treatment. So grateful! Her explanations post treatments like upkeep are clear which I appreciate. Clinic is clean and modern, never had issues with the anaesthetic which I have in other practices in the past!

Negative experience: I had the worst experience here. There was no aftercare even when my stitches opened up very early after a surgery. I had to pay again just for them to see my stitches. Had a dry socket because of it and still had no aftercare or even a checkup call from malmin. Considering how much they charge, the service is extremely awful.

Fantastic experience: Dr Talati is a world class dentist that offers excellent treatment and advice to patients. The dental facilities are exemplary - immaculately clean and tidy. The hygienist treatment is also first class utilising the latest technology which remove the plaque, avoids sensitivity and makes the teeth extremely clean, especially after removing stains from my love of black coffee. Cheerful and engaging, Sanaz takes a genuine interest in getting to know patients. Time is taken to explain each step of the cleaning process, making it a gentle and relaxing experience. Fantastic experience: I have been using Malmin services for a number of years. The dentists have always been good so I have continued to use them. Dr Alessandro is a firm favourite as he takes his time to explain things (what, the cause and next steps) in simple English. He has a good bedside manner which is helpful as I really can't bear the slightest pain. He understands and accomodates as best as possible. He also takes the time to know his patients personally (from my experience) without being intrusive. I have come to trust him with my teeth, hence I continue to have my appointments with him even though I no longer live in London.

Negative experience: Some time ago I did a dental hygiene at the Liverpool Street branch. It was a dentist doing it, not an hygienist . She told me I had to remove all of my wisdom teeth, and she wanted to do it in the same session. 4 surgeries in one sitting. Butchers. Eventually I took them off, in Italy, in 4 different sessions. A different world. That day after the hygiene they let me off with a bleeding mouth. I was spitting blood at the bus stop. Third world dentists are way better. Edit: as a reply to business owner. It was before 2015. Recently I had some dental work done abroad and I thought of the experience with your staff. Also... Haven't used my real name online since 2005. You won't find me and it doesn't matter to me.

Fantastic experience: In an age of poor to average dentists, I’m very satisfied with the care provided by Malmin - both at their branch in Holborn and at the Farringdon practice - which I was referred to with a complex tooth issue. I didn’t see a way to avoid removing one of my key molars, but the knowledge and care of Stephen Cawte looks to have, for now at least, safeguarded the tooth. And for that I am extremely grateful to him. I’ve gone from pain in the mouth to mild sensation at times. He’s a highly skilled dentist and is also very very easy and open to talk with - which is important after seeing numerous useless or arrogant dentists with this issue before I joined Malmin. Priti, Elle and all of the reception team are also a credit to Malmin. Highly recommend Mr Cawte and support team.

Negative experience: Awful experience with hygienist Sanaz. Very pushy and condescending. Had used the same gloves to touch her hair. Very overpriced as a hygienist for mediocre treatment I have received. Be cautious when visiting this hygienist as lots of fake ‘positive’ reviews on here.
