Negative experience: Unfortunately, this place has gone stupidly downhill since I last visited a few years ago. I was first greeted by a unwelcoming receptionist on the phone and when I arrived, which made me uncomfortable... certainly not what you want to feel at the dentist. I came in for a checkup on the NHS and as I had pain in a tooth, left with 3 fillings, not including my painful tooth. My bite was completely out as the fillings were not shaved down to the shape of my teeth. I paid another dentist at City way dentist, for a second opinion and she was horrified at the state the fillings were left in. During a check up appointment, she fixed my fillings so that my bite aligned again and put a temporary filling in my tooth (all in a check up). Unfortunately, I will not be using lupin dentist ever again and I highly advise against it.

We have consistently received positive feedback on the warmth and helpfulness of our staff, and we do not accept your generalised claims that you were not treated in a "nice way" without specific context or justification.
You have publicly stated that you were provided with three NHS fillings and diagnostic x-rays. These are clinically significant treatments which were carried out with care and in accordance with NHS standards. We find it disheartening that, instead of acknowledging the treatment you received, you have chosen to leave a negative review without contacting us to express any concerns or allow us the opportunity to address them.
As you may be aware, minor post-operative sensitivity or the sensation of a "high" filling is not uncommon following dental treatment. It is standard practice in dentistry to invite patients to return if adjustments are needed — a process which typically takes a matter of seconds and is part of our commitment to patient aftercare. We can find no record of you reaching out for a review appointment following your treatment.
Furthermore, we must strongly object to your implication that the dental work was “bad.” This is a serious and potentially defamatory accusation. Professional misconduct or clinical error must be determined by appropriate regulatory bodies, not through speculative or emotional online remarks. If you believe there is a clinical issue with the treatment you received, we encourage you to obtain a written opinion from another dental professional and contact us formally so that we may investigate further.
Please understand that we reserve the right to take appropriate legal action if any public statements are made that are false, misleading, or damaging to our professional reputation. Online platforms are not exempt from defamation laws, and we take the integrity of our practice and the protection of our staff very seriously.

Fantastic experience: I would to thank Janhaui and the dental nurses. My mum has Dementia, they was very patient with her. When she started to tell them about her childhood they were interested in what she was saying, and very understanding. Thank for you for your 1st class service. Mrs Arnold
Negative experience: Absolute disgrace of a company! I called up for an appointment, and was told I can spread the cost of my tooth extraction after I said that I could not afford the procedure. However at the reception being asked to pay, after the work had been done, I said I am spreading the cost. It wasn't until then that the receptionist told me that I couldn't spread the cost, and that I had to pay upfront. I told them I did not have the money, and I had been told I could spread the cost. The lack of care or interest from the receptionist was very obvious, as with a blank and vacant stare she said "no, you have to pay outright". I did not have time to argue as my newborn baby was at home with his nanny and they had to leave shortly. When I got home, I contacted the practice and explained the situation that I had to take the money from my priority bills account meaning I was then short on the rent. I asked for a 50% refund of the extraction, as this would help me out massively, and I thought it was the least they could do. The same lack of care or interest was given in response, and after a number of email exchanges, the practice FINALLY agreed to allow me to apply for the finance, and if approved, they would refund me the cost of the procedure and I could pay it off monthly, as that was what I had originally planned to do. The only difference being, is that when I first asked about paying the cost monthly, there was no mention of "applying for finance" or "subject to approval". I had even told the person I spoke to prior to my appointment that I had bad credit, and they said "it does not matter, anybody can spread the cost" and was not said I had to "apply for credit". However, it has now been over a month since I was going to be "sent a link", and I have not yet had anything of the sort... I have contacted the practice numerous times to ask for the finance link, but I have had no response. They have got my money now, and obviously couldn't care less about trying to help me or even stick to their promise of sending the link. Absolutely abismal customer service!! If a representative of the practice does see this, I would welcome the response with the hope you agree to refunding me the 50% of the cost of my extraction, or at the VERY least, an apology and for the link to be provided to me to apply for finance, like you said you would.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant effective and informative staff. Patient and clearly explained to my son the importance of dental hygiene. Can’t say thank you enough to the wonderful ladies that did his first ever hygiene visit. Hopefully forever happy healthy smiles!
Fantastic experience: Madi Rizal surgically removed my wisdom tooth. She was calm, attentive and removed the wisdom tooth really quickly. Thanks again would definitely recommend going to Madi for any extraction.

Fantastic experience: Had my invisalign started in October 2023. The staff have been so lovely & accomdating throughout my journey. Dr.Maddy has always been helpful with her care and advice throughout my journey and I would highly recommend them for any dental issues both cosmetic & all things dental.
Negative experience: Awful. I went here on Thursday as I could not get an NHS dentist anywhere so decided to come here for a private check up. I felt that the dentist (Madhuri Rizal) was dismissive and didn’t care. She made me feel very uncomfortable and was shocked that I was in there for no more than ten minutes considering the money they charge. She also tried charging me for an emergency appointment despite the fact I had paid for a normal appt on the website. I managed to find a NHS dentist further afield who booked me in for an appt today straight away and even managed to do dental work on my teeth as well. The NHS dentist was far more in detail than Madhuri. Madhuri claimed I needed three fillings and that everything would come to £600. The NHS dentist that I found said I actually only need one filling and I only got charged £70. I believe this dentist are just money grabbers and do not care. Avoid at all costs - I have and saved myself £500 in the process!!!

To clarify, you booked your appointment online under our New Independent/Private Patient Consultation—not under the NHS service or as an emergency appointment. This distinction, along with the associated fee, was made entirely transparent before you confirmed the booking. That said, we went beyond our usual protocol by cancelling and fully refunding your second appointment without hesitation, even though there was no obligation for us to do so under our terms. This is hardly the conduct of a practice acting in bad faith or seeking financial gain, as you have suggested. In addition, your case was carefully assessed by not just one, but three experienced clinicians within our team. All three dentists independently reviewed your clinical findings, including your X-rays, and unanimously agreed that you require three fillings based on clear radiographic evidence. Our clinical recommendation is therefore sound, justified, and fully supported by our professional standards. Should you wish to challenge this, we are more than happy to stand by our findings and discuss this matter further with you or any independent dental body you may choose. We also wish to remind you that if you had contacted us directly before leaving your review, we would have gladly arranged a free second opinion with another experienced dentist in our team. Our clinical assessments are honest, evidence-based, and in line with both GDC standards and NHS best practice. Lastly, we feel it is important to highlight that while we respect every patient’s right to leave honest and fair feedback, publishing a false or misleading review can carry legal consequences under UK law—including the Defamation Act 2013. False statements that harm the reputation of a business may be considered defamatory if they are proven to be untrue and damaging, and appropriate legal remedies can be sought if necessary. We sincerely hope that this matter does not escalate to that point and that we can resolve any concerns directly, openly, and amicably. You came to a private practice knowingly, having booked your appointment yourself under the private consultation option. Before any treatment or advice was given, we clearly explained our charges and provided you with a transparent written estimate of the costs involved, along with our honest professional opinion on what treatment you may require. How such clarity and openness could be described as "money grabbing" is simply unfounded and unfair. We remain committed to providing transparent, high-quality care and are happy to discuss any aspect of your treatment further should you wish.

Fantastic experience: My husbands regular dentist was unable to perform an extraction without specialist intervention. I called Ashley Lupin, last minute, explained the situation and my husband was booked in with Dr Rizal. She sensed my husbands' anxiety, and immediately put him at ease with her calming and sensitive demeanor. The extraction was performed quickly and painlessly with no issues. He couldn't recommend her highly enough, (and he's a difficult patient!!!)
Negative experience: I was in a lot of pain with my tooth, I used this dentists private option so I could be pain free as soon as possible. I had a consultation on Friday, booked in for the service that I had been recommended for the Tuesday. Came for the appointment to be told I needed more work done than first quoted and they would not be treating the painful tooth. I had waited all weekend in pain to be treated by this dentist but this was refused as they wanted me to book all my teeth in to be sorted at once. Leaving I felt extremely helpless, stressed and in a lot of pain. The next day I went elsewhere and had my tooth sorted immediately by another dentist. Wouldn’t recommend this dentist. I felt they cared more about making money than the wellbeing of their patients. The dentists responses to previous 1* reviews is nothing but excuses and zero accountability. This is extremely unprofessional. I do not expect any refund and have already received an email in response to my complaint. I just wanted to share my experience.

Negative experience: Does not take NHS patients like WEBSITE AND 111 STATE , conveniently no NHS appointments but one every half hour if you pay private , top it of private consultation is £3 more expensive than a NHS , no care just want an extra £3 to sucker you in to more expensive charges . Should be criminal to refuse treatment over £3

This is not a decision we make, but rather a result of the way NHS contracts are structured.
Our private consultation fee is set as low as possible to ensure we can continue providing quality care to all patients. Many dental practices across the country are facing the same challenge with NHS availability, and we encourage you to reach out to NHS England if you would like to see changes in the system.

Negative experience: Not happy , I am a new customer , I pay for my dental treatment , I understand that you need to pay a deposit upfront however the day my appointment was due I had a leak in pipework at home , which was cause for emergency I rang dentist an hour before my appointment and explained my circumstances and would I be able to cancel and carry over my deposit ( as obviously my home was more important) it turns out that I've lost my £50 due to short notice cancellation fee , how can I know I'm going to have a leak in pipe and feel that contractors are more important than my dentist appointment?? , it's not like I rang 5 mins before there was still time for anyone who needed a emergency appointment!! ,

Fantastic experience: Best dentist in Chatham. Discovered Ashley Lupin when I first moved to the Uk on 2022 and they helped me with a gum infection caused by my wisdom tooth. I remember not being able to get appointments at many other dentists and being treated poorly like I was overreacting over an inflamed gum but Ashley Lupin immediately stood out for me because they showed immediate concern. Dr Maddy showed me so much love and care, talking me through what needed to be done. Needless to say, I’ve never had a gum infection since then. Since that day, Ashley Lupin became a family dentist. My husband and I get our regular health check and teeth cleaning done here. I’ve also just had my Invisalign treatment done. Dr Maddy said it would take 6 months and it took exactly that. Currently have my retainers in and I’m so excited about my new teeth. I also want to mention that the staff at Ashley Lupin are so kind and friendly. A warm reception is very important in any service industry and this is one of the things that keeps me coming back.

Recently, I reached out to my dear friend Dr Maddy here in the UK, though I was hesitant and uncertain if she could even assist. Fantastic experience: My children have been registered here since COVID. Staff have always been very friendly and reassuring with the kids. We can always get an appointment when we need one, and even in the case of an emergency they have been very helpful.

Fantastic experience: I called Ashley Lupin to ask a few questions since I have not been to a dentist in a few years and was recommended this practice by friends. I am someone who gets nervous when it comes to visiting the dentist, hence why I have not attended in so long, and when on the phone the young lady (I believe her name was Charlotte) made me feel very calm and relaxed and answered all my questions and even said when I am ready to make an appointment and if she is in she’ll take special care of me and let other staff know about my nerves so they are aware and can make me feel relaxed and at ease. Fantastic experience: I have the biggest fear of any dentist and before going into A.LUPIN's surgery, I thought I was going to have the same experience as all the others. But from the moment I walked in there, I was pleasantly surprised, the receptionist could see I was apprehensive and put me at ease from there. The Dentist I saw, even before I walked into the room, asked me how I wanted to do it and what my triggers were etc... she could see me shaking and knew exactly what to do... would recommend 100% to anyone who is (or isn't) scared of having dental work done.

Fantastic experience: After many years of not going to the dentist due to a very bad experience (I’d rather have a baby) I made an appointment with Ashley Lupin. I suffer with a very bad phobia of needles and the dentist therefore am not a very good patient. I saw Nandita and Dental Nurse Kim. I had to have quite a few teeth out. With their reassurance and patients I did it. I didn’t feel a thing. I can not recommend Nandita and Kim enough. They are both so kind, caring and very patient. I no longer have anxiety when going to an appointment and am actually going on my own! Nandita is the best dentist I have ever been to and I would highly recommend Ashley Lupin. I personally have never had a severe problem with my teeth but I always manage to book in easy for my check ups. If there has been anything minor like a clean needed they would advise it. Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist with great Staff, always welcoming polite and freindly. I recently had 6 crowns put on to replace/repair teeth that were in bad condition (work that i was told by another dentist couldnt be done) . Very pleased with the completed work, i cannot believe the transformation. Negative experience: Really disappointed with this company. I had a filling put in last year costing roughly £170 and it was not filed down properly but I was told over time it’ll go down I could not eat for a week so I went back and had it filed down and then was told yes it should have been to begin with. I then had to come back as I believed the filling had come out. I had emailed regarding this and never received a reply. I then phoned and was told to come in to have it looked at again. This was in January and every few months I get asked for £30 for my check up which was not a check up it was to check work I had originally paid £170 roughly for as I would have been very upset if after 4 months it had come out. Every time I explain this situation and I’m told it’ll get looked into and someone will contact me and then they don’t. I have just had this call again I explained everything and have been told when are you going to pay it as you’ve had your check up showing that no one is actually listening when you talk to them. I will never use this dentist again.

Negative experience: I made an appointment and waited for two weeks for my appointment,I called the practice thr day of my appointment to confirm and to my suprise I was told that I am no longer an NHS patient and that I have to pay for my treatment, no worning or so ever, this is not professional.

On February 3rd, during your phone call, we clearly informed you that due to our current NHS capacity, we could only see you as an independent patient. You agreed to this and paid the check-up fee. Your appointment was then scheduled for 10 days later.
During your appointment, the total cost of the treatment was communicated to you before we proceeded. You agreed to the costs and requested the dentist to go ahead with the treatment. Once the treatment was completed, you paid the treatment cost in full.
We are unsure why this review is being posted after four months, but if there are any further concerns or issues you would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your input and aim to ensure all our patients have a positive experience.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 starts I would. After having a bad experience at another dentist. I kept putting off seeing a dentist. Today I see nandita and Kim for a wisdom tooth removal which I was petrified of. They made me feel calm and relaxed(which I have never been before at a dentist) and the extraction was quick and painless, unlike my previous dentist. Could not recommend these guys more. Fantastic experience: Sometimes things go wrong , and the initial dentist I saw here as an emergency just wasn't for me , not to say she is not a good dentist but her approach didn't fit. I explained this to reception ( incidentally these girls are amazing , not your usual snotty receptionists ) who offered me another appointment with a different dentist who they thought would better suit my communication needs and they were spot on . This dentist explained to me in the manner that I needed the procedure, booked me in for an extraction and executed beautifully the removal of a wisdom tooth . I was shocked it was done so fast and so effortlessly like a magic trick . In any medical setting you may need to wait , or you just might not gel with the medical proffesional . It's not that matters , what matters is it gets put right , you aren't made to look stupid and there aren't any grudges . This is a top dental surgery with top staff throughout. I really really recommend this place

We travelled all the way from Harrow to Chatham to get the treatment done. We are very pleased with the diagnosis and the treatment given by the Dr. Madhavi. Negative experience: Didn’t want to do the work. I’m 100% sure it was this practice. I’m 100% sure the dentist declined to offer me a route canal on the NHS but then went on to offer the same server privately for £1000+. I’m 100% sure the managers and receptionist refused to send me the notes after they refused to see me again. I’m 100% sure I’ve still got the emails between me and the practice.

Negative experience: After my experience today I will have to find a new dentist surgery This surgery left in part of my wisdom tooth. It has now been causing me issues and they told me to return if it was. I went in for a check up which they noticed the root had come through (which they left behind) and advised me that it would need removed. As I went to pay for my X-ray they had charged me another £250 to remove the tooth they decided to leave behind. I will be going to the General Dental Council and Ombudsman if they cannot rectify this in house

Fantastic experience: I have always been petrified of dentists from very young but I had to come to the dentist at 54 years old as I had neglected to have regular checks and treatment meaning I had problems , I saw Dr Maddie Rizal and Florentina and was made instantly at ease and all through my journey they have been incredible to now I am at the point I won't see anyone else and I feel perfectly at ease with seeing a Dentist ..... they are AMAZING I cannot praise them enough and they tell me everything all the way along and they are both fast and efficient, I have had to have quite a number of teeth out and dentures and they have helped me with my nerves and calmed me , although petrified I just sat and let them do what they needed to do to get the job done as fast as possible.. yes scary and injections were the worse bit but I felt no pain and I have healed great and now am having dentures and can't wait to get my smile back and could not have done it without these two amazing people !! Also all the staff at Ashley Lupins I have had the pleasure to deal with are wonderful I can't fully recommend them enough!! Thank you I am eternally grateful ❤️

Negative experience: Worst dentist I have ever been to in my life. I was in a residential rehab and came to this dentist all they wanted to do was extract my teeth if they was hurting, refused to carry out a root canal and did not make the correct referrals for me. Once I came back to London my original dentist in Upton Park immediately carried out a root canal successfully. Absolutely do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I needed two fillings and was very nervous as I have always hated the dentist. However Nandita and Kim helped to make me feel relaxed and done a very good job. I would definitely recommend this surgery.
Negative experience: Unfortunately after being with this surgery for over 20 years I feel that their care has gone down hill in the last 3 years. I hung on in the hope that things would change but I no longer felt I was receiving the treatment I was paying for. I will no longer be using their services.

This led to confusion when the treating dentist was searching for your X-rays, resulting in the need for new X-rays to be taken.
I want to assure you that we take full responsibility for this oversight, and I'm pleased to inform you that we have already processed a refund for the cost of the X-rays on the next day as a goodwill gesture. Negative experience: You left Me in agony for 5 weeks because your dentist wouldn't do the work. After the 4th week of pushing she gave antibiotics. STILL NO EMERGENCY EXTRACTIONS 5 WEEKS OF NOT BEING ABLE TO EAT, SLEEP OR TALK. INFECTION SO BAD I COULDNT SWALLOW. MADDIE TOO INTERESTED IN BEING ONE OF THE GIRLS TO DO ANY WORK. MIXED MY RECORDS WITH SOMEONE ELSES. DANGEROUS PROPLE!!! UPDATE. Once again, reading their answer prove they are LIARS that have again mixed me up with other people. The only person on tears was me...due to a dentist that doesn't like treating NHS patients so left Me 5 weeks unable to eat or speak becausr she didn't want to treat me. Reported to the Medical negligence people

We wanted to respond to your recent complaint and address the concerns you raised regarding the support and assistance provided by our dental surgery.All the allegations what you have mentioned are false and dramatic. We have never mixed your records with anyone !!Firstly, we would like to assure you that we have made every effort to help and support you throughout your dental journey. We trust that you attended the referral appointment as arranged where necessary treatment was carried out. You were also offered appointment on 13th July (which you cancelled) as well as today on a short notice but you were very aggressive towards 2 members of our staff who ended up in tears. You were offered your first appointment as an emergency on the same day you called. We immediately took necessary steps to get you out of pain. Our owner rung you to understand the problem and find out if we can do anything else to help you out but unfortunately you spoke to her in a very unpleasant manner. We have a zero tolerance policy towards aggressive patients. We feel we have taken every step to help you. If you still need any help please do not hesitate to contact us and our polite, professional receptionist will help you.

Negative experience: I had to leave without attending an appointment for myself and my son as nobody told me the dentist was running late, and after waiting for 20 minutes my toddler was on the edge of a giant meltdown (and so was I). It would’ve been much easier to manage with a child if I could keep him in the pushchair, but it’s inaccessible. Very disappointing.
I am ever so sorry to read this review. On the day we had a student who was watching the dentist for work experience. She fainted after she watched a surgical procedure as aresult we ran late. Again massive apologies.
Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going to this surgery since she first had teeth. She always had a problem with hollow teeth so they were being built up regularly. Now as an adult she went and had dental surgery to have crowns put on the front. She was so nervous but the care and attention she received was first class. Right from the phone calls to the receptionist and dealing with her dentist and the dental surgeon. She will now have to learn to smile as she has always hidden her mouth. Thank you to everyone at Lupins you have made such a difference to her her confidence and would recommend the surgery to anyone. Just to add I haven’t been to the dentist in 29years and they have even given me the confidence to book with the hygienist!
Fantastic experience: We visited this place based on a referral from one of our friends. We visited this place being very skeptical on how the treatment is going to be as it was new for us. We had been here for tooth extraction and denture fixing. Dr.Madhavi is one of the most experienced doctors who very well knows about her job, confident and explains every single procedure to the patients. She handled this very well in 2 sittings ( finished the procedure in no time in each sitting). The most important and satisfying part is the post procedure care given at this place. I will definitely recommend this place for any dental issues. The receptionists were also kind enough in addressing the queries.

Fantastic experience: I had a not so great experience before in regards to my composite bonding breaking and being overall not great. The owner very very kindly offered for my composite done by the cosmetic dentist (whereas the times it was done before wasn’t by the cosmetic dentist) for FREE! I am so grateful and so happy with how the owner resolved the situation because there’s not a lot of dentist who will do this, so thank you to the owner. My new composite bonding was done by the lovely (forget their names) cosmetic lady on Fridays and the male receptionist. And let me tell you I had such a great experience, not only did my composite look flawless and feels so strong and amazing but the both of them really were so lovely and explained the treatment on my teeth for cosmetic down the line. So thank you both for the wonderful experience and I love my new now non chipped tooth, highly recommend this dentist. People have bad days and I don’t think we should base the whole dentist this way. This dentist goes above and beyond and forever grateful! X
Fantastic experience: Have been a patient for just over two years and absolutely adore the Dentist Jasmine P. She is extremely calming and does an amazing job throughout. Could not recommend this dentist enough, always consistently helpful and polite.
