Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars, I would. This review is for the management at Colosseum Dental and Moat Road Dental in East Grinstead. I had a preventative filling done privately in November 2023 for £100. The tooth had no prior issues, but after the filling, I experienced constant discomfort and pain. I returned twice to have it adjusted, but the pain persisted and worsened over time. By January, I couldn’t chew even soft foods. Another dentist at the practice told me the x-ray didn’t show a problem, but that the symptoms pointed to nerve damage. I was given three upsetting options: live with the pain, attempt a high-risk root canal (not recommended), or have the tooth removed—at just 24 years old. I was later offered a redo of the filling, which was a painful experience despite maximum anaesthetic. After this, the pain continued, and I was eventually referred for extraction under sedation. Two dentists confirmed a root canal wasn’t viable due to curved roots. Management promised a refund if the tooth needed to be removed, but when I requested this, I was ignored. I called multiple times over a week and a half, only to be passed from person to person with no communication from the practice manager. Even Colosseum’s head office ignored my calls and emails. Eventually, my dentist called to apologise—which I appreciated—but this issue should have been handled by management. I’ve now had the tooth removed, and I’m incredibly upset this happened due to a simple filling gone wrong. I’m seeking a refund and considering taking the matter further.

Fantastic experience: Urgent bridge tooth re glue - different dentist at practise BUT again fantastic service exceptional care and perfect results. There is no NHS availability in HH so it’s a 35 minute journey to EG but it’s worth it !!!! Great job!

Negative experience: Phoned today to book an appointment as my tooth has broken. I have been using you since you opened. Coming in three months and then six to see the hygienist was told by her l did not need to see a dentist unless l had a problem which lhave. Have been told by your reception that l have been taken off as a NHS patient and therefore will have to go private. No one has informed me of this at any time to say I'm upset is an under statement. Will be interested to see your repounce.

Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency appointment and phoned on their first day back after Christmas. The receptionist was very helpful and I was given an appointment that day. The dentist was not only able to repair my tooth but also included my regular check up in the visit as that was scheduled a couple of weeks into January. No need for a separate visit. Very pleased!

Fantastic experience: Updated 26 June 2024: As always, Zoy and Hope are a fantastic team. I had a root canal on a back molar, and can honestly say it was stress free and absolutely painless. Zoy is so gentle and steady handed when he gives the injections, and Hope was fantastic at keeping my mouth dry throughout. The anesthetic wore off in the afternoon, leaving me with no pain, just a slight ache from having my jaw open for an hour. Today I am pain free, other than a very slight ache when I chew on that side. Impeccable dentistry as always. Always highly recommended. Thank you Zoy Erasmus is a fantastic dentist, very skilled, very gentle and he has a super manner with kids and adults. The dental nurses are always excellent too. The reception staff are really friendly and helpful, and the premises are clean, lovely and spacious, with high ceilings and lots of natural light. Large, clean and accessible loo too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: This is a first rate NHS dental practice. The admin follow-up is excellent & receptionists friendly. The dentist remembered me even after 2 years absence, was gentle but efficient, explained the treatment she was giving and gave helpful advice on self-care. We hear a lot about "NHS dentist deserts" but this is a genuine oasis.
