The staff at The Oaks are absolutely fantastic, caring, sensitive to your needs and explain everything fully. I cannot thank or rate them highly enough. 5 star and then some!

Negative experience: Absolutely disgusting service. I received a letter chasing me for a small payment which I hadn't been billed for! The letter gave me seven days to pay but it took the practice 16 days to send it, if only I was a time traveller!. I paid the bill and asked for a copy of their complaints procedure, still waiting 9 days later. I have now received another bill mentioning a debt collection agency which again has taken 8 days to be posted. They now have the audacity to say I have been removed as a patient. I will now be making a formal complaint. I'm only sorry I am not able to give zero stars. Incompetent practice. Sheridan Warren

Fantastic experience: The dentist has a very clear and effective communication style. When the dentist inspected my X-ray, he said my tooth was perfectly good, but I had an infection and needed to take antibiotics because I was in so much pain. His candour pleased me.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this practice. After taking time off work to attend my appointment, I booked in and took a seat. 50 minutes later, I went to the same receptionist and asked when I would be seen, as I had another appointment to attend after my dental appointment. The receptionist asked me if i had booked in, so i reminded her that it was her who had taken my payment. I was told that she hadn't booked me in and gave me a very flippant apology. I was then told that I'd have to wait at least another 20 or so minutes as the dentist was dealing with another customer. I asked for my money back and left. This was a total waste of my time. Very poor customer service and unacceptable service.

Negative experience: After paying £198 for an emergency appointment which lasted 10 mins. To be referred else where. Was told to come straight back if any swelling or infection. So tried to go back today but the person I saw finishes at 1pm and wasn’t prepared to see me as she needed to get off. If I wanted to see someone else in the same surgery I would have had to pay again! They rang back and said I should go straight to the hospital instead of coming to see them…….. customer after care 0% took £198 very easily then sorry dentist needs to get off

Fantastic experience: I was referred here for emergency dental treatment following a wisdom tooth extraction. I felt listened to, taken seriously and best of all, I left pain free for the first time in a week! I thought it might be a rush job as it was an emergency appointment but it really wasn't and I am so grateful to the staff who work at the weekend to provide this service.

Fantastic experience: Came here for an emergency appointment after my tooth cracking and being in absolute agony on one side of my face. My dentist was Tez and her assistant Rhiannon (apologies if spelt incorrectly!). They were lovely, very friendly and made me feel at ease throughout the whole tooth extraction - in which I was very nervous! Would highly recommend this dentist if you need something done. Thank you to the whole team.

Fantastic experience: Update 16/05/2025. Current dentist is brilliant- Confident, knowledgeable and great communication. Reception friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately practice has gone down hill recently. Had three sub standard treatments recently off the same dentist. Called up to make an appointment to rectify latest issue and requested to see a different dentist. I was told that the same dentist had to fix the issue! I said I had lost faith in current dentist, receptionist hung up on me.

Negative experience: Appointment at 11:35am, it’s now 12pm, and I’ve still not been seen. Absolute joke having to wait over 25 minutes for an appointment that is “timed”. I don’t think I’ve ever been seen on time since it changed from Ravat and Ray to The Oaks. And even if they are running behind not one person told me.

Negative experience: Since Rodericks took over, the prices have gone sky high. It is concerning as they bought another practice in the same town. Over 20% increase in check up costs since last year. I wish we all got 20% pay rises. A check up is now £72. I'll check this review in a year and see how much it is then. I paid £116 for a silver filling last summer and on the website this is now £149. White fillings cost even more. My wife had a private white filling in 2019 costing around £70. No chance of that now.

Negative experience: LIFE THREATING!!! The NHS sent me here. He doesn't think, he doesn't check! It simply broke my tooth while pulling it out. He said my tooth will heal over the chipped tooth root!!! My God, this is a charlatan. Elsewhere, they operated for a lot of money to remove the splinters.

Fantastic experience: I seriously cannot recommend “The Oaks” Dental Practice enough. I have to mention firstly that I’m an extremely anxious person when it comes to the dentist which all the team at the practice are all aware of, but every visit I’m always put at ease with everything. I use this dentist not only for my NHS treatment but also have just currently completed treatment to have my upper teeth done as I’ve suffered throughout the years with them and have had one implant done and nine crowns which was all done by the amazing specialist dentist “Mudassar”. Wow what an amazing dentist and cannot recommend him highly enough if you’re wishing to have any sort of cosmetic treatment done. He’s by far the best dentist I’ve ever come across an absolute pleasure to deal with. I know having dental work carried out in the UK can be pricey but believe me you get what you pay for, which so far has been so professional, thorough and safe as you know what your being told is correct. He’s an absolute credit to the dental industry and now all I have to do is try save some money to have work carried out on my bottom teeth to completely make me the happiest I’ve ever been with my teeth but unfortunately just cannot afford that just yet but rather than going Turkey I’d be definitely using him for any sort of work needed to be done. The dental nurse “Natasha” who works alongside him too, well let’s just say again your definitely in safe hands because she’s such a warm and welcoming person who’s put me at ease throughout the whole process, just such a lovely person and again a credit to the dental industry. Absolutely love having a chat with her I really do, even though half the time I may have some sort of dental object obstructing my mouth from speaking properly while undergoing treatment. There’s also a few other dental nurses I’d like to mention, I think her name is “Dee” who also works with Natasha and is always so welcoming and friendly, always extremely smiley and all round lovely person again. “Katie” who’s the dental hygienist whom I’ve also had appointments with and is amazing at her job, so professional and excellent with any advice needed on the upkeep of your teeth. I’ve also had “Jen” complete my scans before now and is always lovely to have a chat and as you can see from this review I do like a good chat which I think is to do with my anxiety and nerves. Please be assured though if you suffer from any sort of anxiety you’ll definitely be put at ease at the Oaks Dental Practice Chorley. I’d also like to mention Sue on reception who is such a lovely person and is always so welcoming when walking into the practice, Emma and Kiera too as they too always go out their way to say hello to me when seeing me. If I’ve forgot to mention anyone’s name am sorry but please be assured I appreciate each and every person at the dental practice for being so patient with me and so understanding. I have nothing but positive things to say about the practice and every member of the team. Thank you again everyone.

Fantastic experience: I saw Priya Anthony for teeth straightening, it was wonderful, she was informative, all appointments were dealt with professionally. All stages of the treatment executed perfectly, highly recommend, Priya is a lovely lady and I was very happy with the end result.

Fantastic experience: I've been terrified of the dentist since I had a bad experience when I was younger but since my very first visit with Pouya Amiryavari I no longer dread my visit. Pouya is incredibly reassuring and has never made me feel anything other than comfortable and at ease. My little 2yr old boy also visits Pouya.

He knows that I am apprehensive when in 'The Chair' and manages to put me at my ease. I would not hesitate to recommend him

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing a dental hygienist here once every six months for about 3 years. Find everyone at the practice great. Always been pain free, everything explained and any questions answered. Given great recommendations for looking after my teeth and have seen a big difference since going.

Positive experience: Since the change of name this Dentist seems to see every patient as a "cash cow" now & planning in money making appointments with Hygieneists when they are not necessary. I am a fully grown adult, I don't need to pay someone £80 to show me how to clean my teeth whilst they drive around in a Mercedes and get us all to pay for it.....

Fantastic experience: We've been coming for the last couple of years for orthodontics appointments to Oaks Dental Practice and we're very pleased with everything. The receptionists are very friendly, helpful and the communication is very good via email and text. My children's orthodontist- Mr Carter is very experienced, knowledgeable, has a lot of patience and brilliant with the children. Overall I can highly recommend this practice.

But after my appointment here recently (Sunday 28th may) my faith has been restored, all the staff were amazing and the dentist was lovely, I was in and out so fast with a tooth extraction and the dentist was very comforting and was clearly aware of my fears and anxietys. Negative experience: The receptionist was friendly, comforting and reassuring. She gave me a really good first impression. Unfortunately the dentist was uncaring, did not listen to my concerns, did not explain in a way I understood what to do next, did not explain what self care I should be doing or what changes I should be worried about. I left in pain, confused, upset and not sure what I should be doing going forward. This was an emergency appointment and I feel I would have been better off not having the appointment at all.

Negative experience: Now the Oaks Dental Practice (assume the rename was to allow them to dump NHS patients). Dumped during COVID, but they invited me in for an appointment as a current patient that they hadn't seen for a long time, confirmed the appointment twice by text and twice by email, had all my details already in their online system, and provided a calendar entry. I took the day off work, arranged childcare for my son off from school over Easter, only to arrive and be told I could only have a private appointment and they had told me it was cancelled (which they had not). Their website says they're taking on patients (I was told at reception they are not). Its a scam to get private patients and they should be disgusted with their conduct over the past four years. I will be putting a complaint in with the ombudsman.

Fantastic experience: I could not be happier with the service provided by the team (Shireen and her lovely dental Nurse whose name sadly escapes me). They initially managed a very short notice appointment to replace a damaged fixed brace on the rear of my teeth. Following consultation and discussion for options, I expanded on my treatment options and signed up for whitening and two replacement bondings for my front teeth that were stained and chipped. NEVER have I been so confident in my new smile! The treatment was painless, the finish on my front teeth is hollywood-esque (but matched to my original colour, not Turkey teeth) and it was all accomplished keeping in mind my fear of pain during dental work. Financing was easy and communication has been top notch. Thank you team!

Negative experience: Went for an emergency appointment at night , was expecting to have a tooth removed but the dentist made it clear he didn't want to do that . Instead I recieved a temp filling cap ontop of a broken and wobbling tooth . With no cleaning of the tooth done first just drying with air . This later resulted in an infection and was left unable to eat as the cap prevented my teeth from closing . Very disappointed as normally I have had no problems here .

Negative experience: Don’t know where all these 5 star ratings are coming from. Every single time you call on the phone you’re permanently on hold. No other ways to contact them for example email, live chat, text etc. I thought it was the 21st century? Seriously?

Negative experience: Cancellations are regular practice, members of my family experience the same, a last minute call to cancel thier appointment. Eventually after a 35 minute delay I received a filling! It's only taken three years to complete work on my tooth and granted we've been through COVID however my dentist just continually drags the job out! I'm very disappointed with the entire service from this practice, they may have changed their name but the poor service continues!

Fantastic experience: I cracked a tooth at 6,30,called 111 at 6,45 and was seen to by Oaks at just before 7pm. As an emergency service it's hard to imagine a more prompt, efficient or friendly setup A+
