Fantastic experience: I called at 2pm in the afternoon in absolute agony needing an emergency appointment for an extraction. By 3:15pm I was sat in the chair receiving treatment. Alistair was so comforting and friendly yet professional, putting me at ease through the process always making sure I was pain free and giving me great aftercare advice. I couldn’t recommend Ropergate enough, left very happy and pain free!

Positive experience: I was extremely disappointed to find myself removed from Andy Norbury's patient list, particularly with no prior warning, nor discussion and was then re-assigned to another dentist. Even after asking to remain on Andy's patient list, my request was met with a blunt and flat refusal by the Practice. This all leaves a rather unpleasant taste.
Hi Trevor, we are sorry to hear that you were not notified of the recent change to Andy's work/life balance. We did send out both an email and a letter to all his patients explaining his circumstances and how he had to reduce his working hours to give himself a healthier work/life balance. Unfortunatelty this does mean he is unable to see the same capacity of patients as he used to and we appreciate many of his patients such as yourself will be dissapointed they can no longer see Andy and have to see an alternative dentist at Ropergate.

Fantastic experience: Im not ashamed to say I was terrified of dentists. I went 20 years without a visit for that reason, then I went to Ropergate dental. Well all I can say I will no longer use anyone else. From the moment I walked in the door I felt welcome. The rooms are light and comfortable and the staff are second to none. The Invisalign team were fantastic. Made me feel comfortable and even gave me a fidget ball to help calm my nerves. I really can’t praise them enough and I am so happy with my new looking teeth. Gone are the gaps and they explained everything from beginning to end. I don’t have lots of money and this is the reason I chose them. The prices are competitive and the payment plan for Invisalign is perfect. I will never go to another dentist for anything from now on. This is more of a massive thank you than a review ❤️

Positive experience: Only down side is when they start changing your appointment,s what we book around us and then they move appointments by 15mins or cancel them out whitch that happend to me on last one jew to staff going to appointment whitch I under stand ,and i had to have my hygiene appointment separately to my check up ,and i would rather do them both to gether as planned ,,staff are nice,just need appointments sorting properly and not to be moved. Thankyou

Fantastic experience: The receptionists and very knowledgeable and helpful. Our usual dentist Andy is the best that we have had over many years at other dental practices. We receive text reminders for all appointments, which definitely helps. Phoning the practice can be difficult at times no doubt due to the receptionists' current workload but this is probably no worse than other practices. Since the above we were disappointed that Andy would no longer be our regular Dentist. However my wife and I now have Alistair Reynolds in Andy's place and have had treatment by Alistair. We both feel that our concerns were not justified and are very happy to have him in place of Andy.

Fantastic experience: Can't fault my appointments with Chimene. She always explains clearly and listens to any concerns I have. I feel comfortable whenever I visit. Reception staff are all lovely and helpful too.
Negative experience: Used to be good before it went private now they just are out to make as much money as possible. Absolutely stupid priced I got charged £110 just for an appointment then got charged £11 for an X Ray that I didn't need as I had an abscess and it wasn't hard to tell as my face was swollen like a hamster, then got charged £11 for a prescription for antibiotics £11 for them just to print a piece of paper so in total £132 just so I could get a prescription. Honestly absolute joke. Also like to add its not just the price the service is crap and didn't take any care, also wanted to pull my tooth even tho I had an abscess, honestly if needing emergency dental care phone 111

Negative experience: I paid £100 for a consultation here and unfortunately never received any follow up, despite chasing multiple times. The only time I heard back from the dentist was two months later - and only after I requested a refund - just to tell me that I couldn't have my money back as I had 'paid for the dentist's time'. I don't think this response was fair as I didn't pay £100 for a chat, I think there's the assumption when you book a consultation that a treatment plan will also be included (or any follow up communication at all). The continued lack of response from them has been really disappointing and not what I expected.

Fantastic experience: My first visit and I was very impressed. I am nervous when going to the dentist but the dentist and assistant put me at ease straight away. They gave me advice and took X Rays to show exactly condition of my gums. Gave me the time to understand what was needed and if I wanted to proceed. The hygienist was brilliant. Talking me through the process which put me at ease and I felt very confident in letting them do all what was necessary. They also explained how I needed to look after my teeth to ensure a good outcome thereby stopping problems before they happen. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Dentist & dental nurse we’re really nice, but I was in for an hour for 2 simple fillings, did it really need to take that long? I appreciate that you’re trying to give a good “customer service,” but you don’t need to reassure me every few seconds, it was so uncomfortable having to lie with my mouth open for that length of time. And did I really need to have 2 injections when the teeth were so close together? I was numb for 8 hours!

We appreciate you have concerns about the lack of NHS dentistry and we are commited to helping the community where we can, over the last couple of years we have sent our oral health educators into local schools and nurseries, by giving oral health advice to the children and free toothbrushes/toothpaste and other aids to help prevent decay and create good habits for looking after their teeth. In regard to your question about giving injections, this is down to human anatomy and not everyone is the same so it can be difficult to determin how long anaethetic can wear off. Please feel free to dscuss any concerns you have with the clinician next time you are in the surgery.
Fantastic experience: RoperGate dental care is a great little Practice in the centre of Pontefract. Friendly helpful staff with state of the art equipment. I would highly recommend and hope to be a permenant patient someday. However they're not currently accepting NHS patients. (I came through emergency appointments) . My broken tooth was extracted with minimal fuss and now I am pain free. Thankyou RDC

Fantastic experience: I have a really bad fear of dentists and don’t often make it due to anxiety and past experience's (from previous dental practice). I have seen Laura for my dental work and she has been the most relaxed and reassuring dental nurse I have seen. Was very patient with me upon having a panic attack. Positive experience: I would give this 5 stars but since it went private I can't do it. Staff are nice, while the dentists do a good job of looking after your teeth I'm not sure the prices are fair to be honest and that's my issue. I feel like your not getting the full job done since they've changed it because your paying for just a quick spray on your teeth every few months instead of doing a yearly full clean on them. As much as the dentist has been brilliant while taking NHS patients which was cheaper for money I don't think the practice going private has helped in terms of coats. It is a lot of money to pay out especially when your only going for a small filling.
Hi Bradley thank you for your honest review of the practice and we are saddened by your interpretation of a 'quick spray on your teeth every few months instead of a full yearly clean of them'. Our hygiene therapy team are allocated thirty minutes per hygiene maintenance appointment ensuring a comprehensive level of care for hygiene treatment is provided. This includes oral hygiene instruction, extra-oral and intra-oral checks of the gums and teeth. The treatment of scale build-up removal is carried out with a polish to complete the treatment if necessary.
We do agree that NHS dental service is cheaper for the patient, however due to factors beyond our control including difficulties replacing NHS dentist positions within the practice. It was a tough decision the practice to had to make to keep the business going so that we could continue to provide long standing dental care to our patients. We have been mindful that private dentistry may appear expensive and that is why we have created a payment plan for patients starting from £20 a month and we still offer NHS places to new & exisitng children to ensure they receive free dental care at the practice.
Fantastic experience: 5 star service throughout my full treatment, being a nervous patient, Chermene and the dental nurses looked after me so much. She advised and created the perfect smile, with precision and thought, you changed my life and now more confident...HUGE THANKS!!!!

Fantastic experience: Having been with this practise for over 30yrs me and my husband always have a great experience with them, I was terrified of needles and still am but with the care I recieve from them I feel really at ease. I suffer from anxiety but I am always placated when I come out of the practice, the reception staff are always happy and helpful. I couldn't see myself going with anyone else.

Fantastic experience: Visited here today with an infection and was treated with nothing but respect and dignity through-out my appointment.. all staff where lovely and kind. Clean and friendly atmosphere. When I had an Xray I was shown and given clear instructions and guides. Given advice and just overall was very happy the service provided. I need further work done and was straight away booked in for both appointments which is fab given I have a busy schedule some weeks. Thank you x

Negative experience: An absolute joke. Having been with RDC for 30 years I have seen a cliff edge decline in this practice. The latest series of events has led me to this review and also seeking another practice. I had a filling in February which was painful to have due to the heavy handedness of the dentist. This then fell out 2 weeks later and another appointment was made. I received a call 2 hours before my appointment to be informed that this was then cancelled and rearranged for a week later. Another day off work was then taken for the filling to be replaced. 3 months passed and the filling has once again fallen out whilst brushing my teeth with the dentist recommended electric toothbrush. Upon calling this morning I was told I couldn’t be seen today although I explained I had been up all night in pain and was advised to call back in the morning and there might be an available appointment. The hi e cherry on the op was that I was asked for a £100 deposit to replace the filling I had already put air for and it was at the dentists discretion if this would be refunded. Avoid this practice at all costs. The only positive I could say is that the receptionists are very polite and professional. Maybe the dentists and dental processes could learn something from these ladies. Goodbye RDC, it was a please for 29 of the 30 years we’ve been together.

Unfortunately restorations can fail/fall out due to factors that are sometimes out of the clinician’s control. Please accept our apologies we had to cancel your appointment on the same day, unfortunately these unplanned incidents cannot be managed in advance when a clinician is unwell. We appreciate you disagree to our deposit payment request for booking emergency appointments and wish you all the best with your future dental care.

Negative experience: Gone down hill ever since the take over. Not even 1 star so don't know about the 5 stars they are getting as everyone i spoke to and affected by the changes are very angry We have Been there ever since Nick and Rich took over the place and never had any issues and felt in the safest hands. All changed since the take over - especially for existing patients. They are advertising for more patients especially to sign them up on the membership schemes but can't look after the existing patients they have Nick suddenly left meaning some of us had the new dentist who had ruined our teeth and suddenly left - leaving a lot of people trying to chase up refunds for work not done. If you complained - then chances are you not likely to ever to secure another appointment with someone else. A family member had to go else where. When Rich left we struggled to get anyone to see us. Suddenly any appointments made with anyone else were cancelled and were told that they haven't found anyone to replace Richard and so will be struggling to get you in. Fam member was refused treatment altogether Thanks to chimene (who if you have as ur dentist; my advice is have mobile recording conversations on) because she will interpret harmless conversations into something that is nothing, get refused treatment by her and then by others as result. If she has issue with you there no need for other not to treat you and make u suffer 6 plus months to be told That - yes talk about inhumane treatment - a clear breach of human rights - allowing suffering of elderly persons to take place . Yes have a transcript of the chat which to add insult to it all was not accurate of what was said and was written in broken English to mimic this individual who actually speaks good English!!! But i guess from his appearance they thought they can -months down the line make it sound like what they think he sounds like….which he doesn’t. No easy way to complain bout this place (I don’t advise the practice manager as they are not impartial) … tryin to report via govt schemes and local MP. I feel for the receptionists. They bear the brunt of the angry clients. They have always tried to help and get you in but they can only follow orders. They deliver the bad news and the those responsible hide in ivory towers - away from the anger and frustration of patients that are in pain. You guys do a lovely job - and try and help. **EDIT** In a response to their response - LOOK, LISTEN AND UNDERSTAND - what all the people are saying. It's not one or two. It's not an accusation particularly when considering taking it further, when YVETTE Cooper looked into complaints about you and all the reviews one stars reviews on google. Not everyone is lying and you are not being truthful. You can make false accusations about people who have no way to challenge it. Complaints to manager who is part of the company - you can't be impartial - there is a conflict of interest. This will go further. Further more i was told I needed a crown and it would cost me in excess of £700 plus… I felt the pressure - it was urgent and needed doin soon as. Something wasn’t right and didn’t want one due to other people having issue. Was told by the dentist I shouldn’t believe what other say - there are no risks involved (despite the pro and cons on internet too and actual people who had bad side effects). I went to dentist around the corner who will not sell you somet you don’t need. Checked all the teeth and looked at the tooth in question and horrified at what he called a patchwork of bad jobs combined. He said it does not require a crown - it’s bad patchwork and fillings that stickin out - not done properly which were clear from scans! £80 and hour in - my teeth were fixed and perfect. Big difference between the two practices. Felt safe in the new one and felt scared in the old one- telling me I needed x y z (unnecessary stuff) when I needed the tooth tidying up - by smoothing it out and redoing the filling and not a crown which was costing me £700 plus. So I’ve switched to an honest dentist.

Fantastic experience: Been seen for the first time today by the new dentist Hassan. Found him really pleasant and thorough and his assistant Hannah is very competent at her job. I had a check up and then discussed a treatment plan and have another appointment booked for later in the month. All in all a very pleasant experience and thoroughly recommend Hassan he really puts you at ease and is easy to talk to. I would like to add to this review if i may. Been seeing Hassan for a long while now and hes the best dentist ive ever encountered he is so thourough and competent he pays attention to everything you ask him and does all he can to help in every way! So friendly and gentle and thoughtful. He has just made me a new top denture and it has fitted first time without any alterations to be made! So pleased with it! Thank you so much Hassan.

Positive experience: First impressions were really quite impressive; the renovations make the practice look squeaky clean, up-market and very professional. The staff added to this with their professional manner and smart uniforms. My dentist was lovely; very attentive and informative and I was made to feel (emotionally) well at ease. However, this was not the case physically. After 50+ years of visiting dentists and sitting at a comfortable 45 degree position, this manner of laying a patient horizontally is so extremely uncomfortable it makes me nauseous. I understand why dentists would prefer the patient in a supine position as it’s easier for them to gain access but it makes for an unpleasant and unwelcome experience. Then I was advised I would need a clean before any treatment could start as my gums were swollen and, after they had settled, another check-up would be required before treatment could begin. This information began to raise doubts in my mind as to the legitimacy of the advice as my gums were not red, painful or even uncomfortable. My doubts increased further when I received the schedule that detailed a filling and THEN a clean on the first visit and a week later for the final filling. So much for needing the gums to be dealt with first. This was and is still is not very impressive and smacks of profiteering to me. Once I realised the apparent error I rang and tried to change the date for the first filling until after the clean but was told it would not be possible despite giving over a months’ notice. All in all, my first impression of the office stands but everything that followed has left a sour taste. Having said all this, having had many previous and more pleasant visits to this practice over the years, I shall be loyal and continue to avail myself of their services.

Positive experience: Very welcoming and polite. Very professional, made me feel very welcome, which also made me feel at ease. Would recommend to anyone. Only issue I have is they ask you to pay up front for your next appointment, which means they get your money well in advance of your next appointment. Not everyone can afford to do this ,do when you come to book your next appointment you struggle to get one. Also not NHS anymore

Fantastic experience: I was very sceptical when initially booking my appointments but that quickly turned into relief after the first one as the dentist I’m seeing put me at ease , I cannot fault any part of my experience I’ve been informed of treatment before it’s carried out and explained what the next step is going to be afterwards, for someone that has had bad experiences in the past I’m not worried about the next stage of treatment using this dentists .

Negative experience: There should be a zero star option. Terrible service and support. Been here happily 50 years, went with toothache today and after a basic checkup got told to see hygienist for filling in 6 weeks!! Gone downhill fast in last 2 years since Nick left, No customer service, appointments regularly cancelled and no effort to support their NHS customers. Can't believe I was told dentists don't do fillings!!! All my family are taking out a plan elsewhere. Well you obviously don't care enough about your patients to contact them and try and improve service. Confidential excuse!!! An excuse not to give an honest apology on treatment. As a family we have had 3 appointments cancelled in the last 12 months as well and sometimes on arrival. It's disgraceful how you treat people. High turnover of some dentists too. Seen 3 different ones in 12 mths. Used to be good but no more. No wonder we get frustrated. You are just money focused.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Dental Practice. First class treatment. Very welcoming when you walk in and I have found all the staff to be kind , respectful and polite. I have always been extremely happy with the treatment I have received. Wouldn’t think of going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I visited Ropergate Dental Care and Implant Clinic to investigate options for a missing tooth. I was seen by James who was very knowledgeable and discussed all my options in great detail. I left with a full cost of the treatment that I decided to have and an option for 0% finance which is a great way to help people pay for their treatment. I found the staff to be helpful and friendly and the practice is modern and clean. I was very impressed with my visit. I am looking forward to completing my treatment (not many people will say that!) and having my tooth back.

Negative experience: I’ve had 3 appointments booked in the last 4 months and all of them have been cancelled. Wouldn’t bother coming here as they just fob you off. Annoying how people take days off work to attend appointments and they give you 45 mins notice that the appointment is being cancelled. If this was the opposite way round, they’d be hell on, you have to give 24 hour notice? Not good enough if you ask me.

Please be reassured we do take into consideration when patients are too unwell to attend and would not penalise somebody for this reason.

Fantastic experience: Hi, my son needed some dental work doing and had never had anything done before. Emma and Anna were absolutely amazing, Emma talked my son through everything and made both visits go without any problems. They went above and beyond with my son and we would highly recommend them and will be returning for any future treatment. Emma explained all the treatment to me and what their ethos is regarding prevention and what's best for the patient. Just wanted to say a big thank you for making my son's experience one not to forget for all the good reasons.

Negative experience: UPDATED!!! Ropergate dental care should change their name to the Jokers surgery. I posted an honest review on their Facebook page and they blocked me and deleted me for telling the truth!! They talk about teaching the next generation of kids about their teeth yet they have no interest in the kids of this generation. They don't care about their customers they certainly don't want anyone to hear the truth that it is a rubbish dentist. All they do is cancel on you and have nothing to say about it! And they can get away with cancelling time and time again and try to make company look good... absolute jokers. You can delete my review and block me on Facebook but atleast I have Google to speak the truth that you can't delete. This dentist is really shocking... I've tried to book 3 times I believe over a year period and each time I've booked on the morning of the appointment I get a call to say the dentist has phoned in sick.. They have no backup plans and leave you to just wait another 3 months before cancelling again. Little care is given in your concerns and I don't think they value their customers as well. My children have been ages without check ups because of the slack service

Fantastic experience: Have been with at this practice for more than 20 years and wouldn't go anywhere else. Andy is a brilliant dentist who really cares. I had to have emergency treatment after a fall earlier this year and everyone was so helpful and kind. I am new to having hygienist appointments but it has made a real difference to my teeth. Fantastic experience: I’ve had two visits since the practice went private , one with my dentist & one with the hygienist. Both advised at great depth and explained everything to me . Negative experience: Disappointing Experience at Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio I recently had a very disappointing experience at Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio, and I feel compelled to share my encounter with others to help them make informed decisions about their dental care. On Thursday, 26th October, I had a scheduled appointment with Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio, but it was canceled on the morning of the appointment due to the unavailability of the dentist. To make matters worse, I was informed that I couldn't rebook my appointment until a month later, despite my inconvenience. What was even more disheartening was the unprofessional and rude behavior of the receptionist when I called to express my concerns. She made it clear that she was "fed up with people this morning" and abruptly ended the call without offering any alternative solutions or attempting to reschedule my appointment. In my opinion, patients should always be treated with respect and courtesy, even in challenging circumstances. Unfortunately, this was not the case at Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio. I believe it's essential for patients to be aware of their experiences with healthcare providers, and I hope that by sharing my experience, others can make more informed decisions about where they seek dental care. I sincerely hope that Ropergate Dental Care & Implant Studio takes the necessary steps to improve their customer service in the future to ensure that other patients do not face similar disappointments.
Dear Michael, We understand it can be frustrating if we cancel an arranged appointment but unfortunately when a dentist is unwell and unable to provide a clinic we will do our best to contact our patients as early as reasonably possible. We absolutely agree with you that patients should be treated with respect and courtesy and we ask that this behaviour is mutually given in return. We will advise patients that we have a zero tollerance abuse policy and a telephone converation will be terminated if it occurs. We have absolute confidence with our front of house team that they are kind, patient and proffessional and they do provide a high level of customer care service to our patients even in challenging situations.

Negative experience: After being with this practice for over 20years..under richard white..i was advised this wouldn't effect my check ups and appointments..no appointments missed and check ups regularly. My check up was due and after numerous attempts i couldnt get intouch, my emails not answered and calls diverted to voice mail.. today i called and managed to speak to receptionist..i was told I don't have a dentist and at the present no one to replace my previous dentist richard white..so no appointments!! This is discusting seems that this dentist does not care about its long term patients..all about implant studio..MONEY!!! And now I'm currently having to find a dentist as it seems I don't have one ..so unprofessional..

We too, are also disappointed that we have been unable to fill the vacancy dentist position since Richard white retired from the practice. Unfortunately, this has left us in a difficult situation that is out of our control and left many patients like yourself without a dentist. Please be advised In the meantime if you do have a dental emergency, feel free to contact us as we may have same day appointments available to help as a temporary measure whilst you look for an alternative routine dentist.
Positive experience: Overall, the experience has been great and after almost 2 years, my teeth are finally in position so I’m very excited to finish treatment, although it’s not nearly as daunting as I thought it might be and the time has gone quickly! Just be aware, I was not informed initially that an extra £250 would be required at the end of treatment for 3 sets of Invisalign retainers (or you get one for free included in your treatment price). Obviously it’s better to have 3 sets considering you’ll need to wear them every night for the foreseeable, ensuring you have spares if you loose a set for example. The only other little gripe was that my treatment was due for completion before my holiday but due to sickness, the practice had to reschedule at the last minute. I fully appreciate that this can’t be helped, but this treatment was not on the NHS so would have appreciated some allowances to enable me to complete treatment in the same time frame. A big bonus was that whitening was thrown in so on the whole, no major complaints! Very happy with the results
