Fantastic experience: I had a excellent experience at this clinic. The whole staff was welcoming, professional, and very caring. From the reception team to the hygienist and dentist, everyone made me feel comfortable. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment I received at this dental practice. After being a patient for several years, I was informed by the receptionist, Daniela, that I could no longer receive treatment and should seek another dentist. Her communication was unprofessional and humiliating, citing an incident of late attendance from 2011, which is now over 14 years ago. This decision appears to be unreasonable, particularly in light of the fact that the practice itself cancelled my appointment in June 2025 with less than 24 hours' notice due to the dentist's unavailability. It is imperative to recognize that people's circumstances can change, and using such an outdated event as justification for refusing care to NHS patients raises concerns of potential discrimination. Upon reviewing other patient feedback, I have noted numerous similar grievances, leading me to believe that NHS patients may be unfairly marginalized. All patients, whether NHS or private, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. Although I did not expect free treatment, I appreciate the outcome, as I have since found a superior dental practice just five minutes from my residence.

Fantastic experience: Stockwell Dentist is first class. The staff are very friendly and professional. My dentist is awesome, I had to have an unexpected filling on my last visit and being very squeamish with needles, I was totally apprehensive! But I needn’t have worried, I didn’t feel a thing and was calmed throughout the procedure. All over in less than 10 minutes. I can’t recommend this surgery strongly enough. First class every time I’ve visited with regular reminders about my appointments.

Negative experience: gentrification to its core. imagine i missed a appointment due to life circumstances i missed 9 years ago due to my dad having cancer. I missed yesterday by 30mins sometimes I feel people are still human but clearly not. I've been in stockwell my whole life since this new MANAGER just very clear compassion in alot of places is dead. be mindful if you join them maybe they won't help you due there policy of you miss the appointment your out and blocked but can't come back this what there reception said. i dont write reviews but today im so annoyed that you could have a real emergency and this is there way being human quote ' go look for another practice". thank you for helping me not waste my money on a stupid policy and clear lack of respect for others life.

Negative experience: I would like some clarity on your practices appointment terms with regards to patients who miss or postpone appointments and how the surgery deals with these and if they are regulated and governed by a UK government appointed agency.

Negative experience: Right so firstly to book an appointment the waiting times are long. Once you manage to secure an appointment you make a payment to see the dentist. The dentist will just check and tell you to book another appointment which will be over a month time. Then when you come the next time you make another payment for the appointment plus the treatment payment separately. The service is terrible and waiting times are a joke. If you need dental care, Turkey is best option. UK is finished.

Positive experience: I’ve had two initial check-ups booked (although I was hoping for an emergency appointment due to pain but no available emergency appointments). The reception staff were lovely and polite and I also received 24-hour reminders. However, despite having these appointments booked with two different dentists and being reminded to attended by the reception staff, both appointments were cancelled on the day and I’m yet to see anyone about my poor teeth. Update: they were kind enough to contact me about a cancellation

Negative experience: My tooth broke and I experienced so much pain. I informed the dentist I was very nervous however she prodded the tooth which made me jump and vocalise how much pain I was in but she didn't seem to care. They seem very much money driven, I will not be returning and I would not recommend a non empathetic dentist.

If you value your health, DO NOT trust this team with your care. ⚡ While visiting as an NHS patient, I felt completely disregarded. The staff were unprofessional and seemed more concerned with money than actually treating me properly. The quality of care was subpar, and I was left feeling ignored and neglected. Money-driven practice: If you're not paying out of pocket, expect to be treated as an afterthought. My concerns were brushed aside, and I felt completely uncared for during my visit. This practice lacks the basic level of professionalism and respect that you should expect from a healthcare provider. I’m extremely disappointed, and I would strongly advise anyone seeking dental care to look elsewhere. ❌ Please, protect yourself and don’t make the same mistake I did. Stay away from this place!

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for years - Diogo is my dentist and he's brilliant. When he cleans my teeth they feel REALLY clean. He's chatty and funny so I feel very comfortable when I'm there. I also don't feel like they're just trying to take my money, he'll tell me if I need to come back sooner or not. I love the honesty. Negative experience: I arrived almost 1 hour early, as I was told i had some forms to fill which I did without any problems. I was well attended by the receptionist and i had to wait for up to 1 hour before my appointment at 3.44pm which came 4 mins late. Finally, the appointment didn't last long but the form i signed with NE I couldn't see it clearly thereby may getting me ensnared! Anyway, they told me to come back in 6 months time, which I pleased about.

Negative experience: Positives: friendly staff, was seen on time Negatives: my dentist barely looked at my teeth. I have recently moved practices and this was the first appointment I've had at this practice. The dentist spent about 6 seconds looking in my mouth and then took Xrays. Compared to my previous dentist at another practice who used to make notes on each tooth, scrape at any plaque, check my jaw opening, and check all my lymph nodes down my neck, I just feel like this was no way near as thorough.

Fantastic experience: I have been using this dentist for many years. All my children and now my grandchildren go here. The staff are lovely and friendly. I have a real phobia of dentists but they always take their time with me to make my visits as stress free as possible.

Fantastic experience: Very good dentists working at this dental practice. I highly recommend Joao Da Silva Marques who is a very good professional and offers good patient care. The dental assistants are usually very good and friendly as well. I can also comment that Diogo Guimares is good as I previously went to him for treatment. Try to book in advance as the good dentists are usually full up. You tend to have emergency appointments which is good but usually not with your dentist as they are often busy. The receptionists are friendly and welcoming and practice is clean!

Negative experience: First of all start by saying the reception is absolutely useless, one in particular with a complete attitude on her it’s disgraceful. The dentists will tell you about 100 things you need to take your money but when i went to a more professional private practice was told that they have damaged perfectly fine teeth and have ignored the ones that actually need fixing. Booking an appointment is almost impossible and the dentists are actually quite rude the poor nurse seemed afraid. This clinic is absolutely rubbish and just want your money. do not waste your time!

Negative experience: If you are their patient, please triple check the appointment time in their message ASAP, otherwise you might be the only one who pay the price. I’ve been their patient since 2022 March and I have been under Dr Alex’s care since then. He is nice and quick, only a bit careless. Dr Alex told me he sent my referral to King’s College hospital, but after 1 year waiting, King’s College hospital told me they actually didn’t receive his email in the very beginning. This is my last day in this dental practice. Because I missed 1 appointment, they rejected me as their patient forever without any notice and asked me in the call to find somewhere else instead. This is my 1st time missing an appointment. It’s my fault forgetting triple check their message 1 day beforehand so I will learn the lesson and wouldn’t blame anyone. However, they also made a mistake by giving me the wrong time (3:30pm) instead of the actual appointment time (2:30pm) in the call, and they forget to call me 1 day before the appointment day as this is what they usually do. Hope this feedback can help people who choose this dental practice also the practice itself. Thanx!

Negative experience: Disgraceful this clinic is unprofessional disorganised and unhelpful I’ve been going to this dental practise since I was a kid and seems to just get worse. On My last appointment I was told they would refer me to a hospital to have my wisdom tooth removed I was told by the dentist it’s typically takes 6-8 months to get booked in. a year later and I still haven’t heard back from the Stockwell dental practice I followed up with a email and was told it wasn’t booked in which clearly just shows how incompetent the practise is in dealing with its customers. If I could I’d rate this practice a 0 as it’s utter rubbish and slow. Don’t bother going if you have any oral pain they will either forget they booked you in and mess up the timings or will moan about being super busy and tell you they can only see you in a months time.

Negative experience: Don’t bother registering here. Waste of time - They are extremely disorganised, likely to mess up your appointments and give you incorrect information. I personally had a negative experience in trying to get a filling following a check up (which needs to be done within 2 months otherwise they try to charge you again for a check up). I had to reschedule an initial appointment but before I did, I double checked with the receptionist whether this would be possible within the price they initially stated following the check up (offer of £44.90). She told me it was fine and rebooked my appt. On arriving to the dentist and being made to wait 30 mins to be seen, they tried to charge me for another check up and told me my filling is not possible. This is not okay, a complete waste of my time and energy. I am extremely disappointed by this practice as first impression was actually good. They couldn’t even give me any alternative solution. Don’t come here. Go somewhere organised.

Fantastic experience: Good Dental practice, all the staff are very kind and helping. And there are excellent doctors.

Positive experience: I've always received great treatment at Stockwell Dental Practice. My only complaint is the Admin around booking and getting to your appointment is pretty painful. Since Covid they require an INSANE amount of forms to be completed (some Covid-related, some not). I visit every 6 months for a checkup appointment, and each time I have to review 5 or 6 forms with sometimes as many as 20 questions per form. I am unclear on the necessity of many of these questions being asked other than for a new patient registration. It doesn't make sense for existing patients coming frequently to the practice. I've never experienced this in any other dental surgery or healthcare setting.

Fantastic experience: Although under a lot of pressure - high demand from patients and working to NHS prices they do their best to help. Mouth infections arise quickly and can be painful - twice The Stockwell Team have fitted me in for treatments when their diaries are already full.
