Chipping Manor - Wotton-Under-Edge Dental Practice

Fantastic experience: A great & friendly dental practice based in Wotton Under Edge. Good service, from all staff, appts with dentist or hygienist on time, discuss and advice on needs, treatment and importance of follow up appts. Excellent online interaction, appt reminders and forms required, saves time at surgery. Very satisfied especially when require emergency treatment.

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient here for as long as I can remember, originally under Manisha, for the last couple of years Chris. To be honest when I was moved to Chris (due to workload) I was slightly apprehensive but his care, manner and ability have been top notch including the replacement of a bridge/crown last year that has been no problem ever since. This is a large NHS practice with a local feel, further from me than ideal but I just like the staff and service.

Explains everything in detail that you need to know. Highly recommended. They have never cancelled any of my appointments. Get a smile from receptionist as well.

Fantastic experience: Was so impressed with my appointment with Paula Griss, she wasn’t my usual dentist and had seen another the week before that done a rushed treatment, since then inhad been in pain for days so needed an emergency extraction. Paula was gentle and caring and went out of her way to make time to do the extraction and get me out of pain

Fantastic experience: Until today, my experience with Chipping Manor Dental Practice has been poor, with appointments being cancelled time after time. However, all credit to Dentist, Ms Paula Griss, who was polite, courteous and highly professional during a difficult emergency treatment today. I would like to say “ thank you so much for listening and for alleviating the pain I’ve been in for quite some time. It’s very much appreciated.”

Fantastic experience: Went in within 3 minutes of my appointment time for repair to a broken tooth with Insha. She was very pleasant, introduced herself and her assistant. She was very thorough, repairing the broken tooth with no pain and no excessive equipment. You know how you usually end up with a mouthful of picks and mirrors, being drowned by the rinsing water and trying to swallow with your mouth wide open? None of that. She and her assistant worked very efficiently together. An (almost!) enjoyable visit. Recommended.

Negative experience: Appointment was OK but this is the first time that I have left the prectice disappointed. Wasn't interested in the problem with the tooth that was filled last time - dentine now showing, so no plan in place to fix it. I am aware that it is not an emergency so wasn't expecting anything to be done then. I will phone to make another appointment for that but don't want to see the same dentist

Fantastic experience: This was my 2ce yearly check up I was called & greeted on time by my dentist. I had 2 xrays to check there were no problems below the gumline. Then a thorough examination of mouth, gums & teeth....and a final clean. 'See you around Christmas'. A reassuring check up &, in my opinion, excellently carried out.

I have also been treated by other dentists here including Manisha who was also wonderful. Even during covid I got same day emergency treatment at this practice. I am very grateful to them for all the great care and support I have received.

Negative experience: If you are on a waiting list and have been seen privately, make sure to check in regularly as they did not contact me when it was my turn. When I finally realised this, the only explanation I received was that I was registered as a private patience. I had previously asked how many more years I might need to wait for NHS dental treatment, and once, one of the receptionists just flipped through the waiting list pages in front of me instead of giving me a verbal answer. Depending on who you see, you might be in and out with a suggestion to book an appointment with a hygienist, or you might receive a thorough scaling as part of a Band 1 check-up.

Positive experience: Reception staff friendly on arrival. Dentist wasn’t overly friendly and was a bit put out that I wasn’t her patient. I had been booked to see my usual dentist. She was a little abrupt and not overly clear. She was thorough with my check up though.

Fantastic experience: As always Phil is very thorough and gives my teeth/ gums/ mouth a good examination. He explains what he is doing. x rays were taken and then reported back on. He also asks if o have any issues regarding my teeth. He has looked after our whole family’s teeth since my children were tiny so we trust his professional opinion

Fantastic experience: I'm very 'dentist phobic', in fact, I'm borderline terrified of getting in the chair ! All the dentists I've seen over the years at Chipping Manor, have been understanding of my fear and gone above and beyond to make the experience as pleasant as possible. They really are the best dentists I've ever had, and I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Needed a further receptionist. One on phone second dealing with patient. One of the Dentist came to meet her patient but had to hellp on reception. Both hygienist and dentist were excellent. One comment I would make is the front of the building is badly in need of decorating and the front door is falling apart. It's a listed building and a company like Rodericks should take more care of the external of the building. The inside looks very smart and well looked after.
