The interior has been updated and the place definitely feels more welcoming. Jasmine, their Hygienist, is one of the best. Fantastic experience: I now have a really good Dentist again,had my first appointment yesterday. I honestly couldn't believe how good he was,made me feel safe I'm normally terrified of Dentists but he explained everything as he went putting me at ease every step. Just like Mr Mayal used to before his retirement. All staff from Reception to Dental Nurse were great friendly yet Professional. Very Calming atmosphere at the Albion street Dental practice, Honestly I can't rate them high enough, brilliant clean and Disabled Friendly, Lift to all floors . Positive experience: First, the positive: the hygienist was good: very thorough, helpful and polite in doing her job. Unfortunately things were let down by other issues. Firstly the new waiting area (following considerable remodelling and rebuilding in the practice) was basically a corridor; plain, uncomfortable and utilitarian. Another waiting patient remarked how unwelcoming it was and I agreed. While we were waiting, a staff member came in and switched on a radio playing pop music. She asked us if the volume was OK, but my fellow patient and I both said we'd be happy for the radio to be left off, but the staff member said it had to be left switched on, basically so that we were less likely to hear what was going on in the surgeries, the walls of which apparently had very poor soundproofing! Not very encouraging to anyone who is nervous of dentists (note: I am not)! Lastly, my appointment was for 11am but I wasn't called in until 11.45am. The hygienist was very apologetic for the delay and said there'd been some problems but she did not elaborate (and I didn't ask). I've been a patient at this practice for the best part of forty years and this is the first time I'd ever left with any negative feelings. I do hope things have improved by the time of my next visit in a few weeks' time.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Albion dentist for at lease 30+ years and all the staff old and new have been very welcoming. It's has resently been going through a big change, more dental practice rooms with 2 reception rooms. I am not that keen going to the dentist, but I do feel slightly at ease once I am in the dentist chair and been told what to expect at that visit.

Negative experience: (This is edited from about 3 years ago as I was waffling too much in the original post) I'm taking time to warn people, more succinctly, that this is the worst paid dental service I've ever experienced. Wouldn't allow me entry for not wearing a mask, when it was no longer mandated and I was clearly 100% healthy. I explained my exemption from wearing a mask but they refused to listed to any reason. This no-mask-no-entry policy was not explained on their website or I would not have gone there. They seemed to delight in arguing. When I complained about this horrid treatment, the practice manager called me a few days later to continue arguing with me. Secondly, I had paid £85 for a private orthodontic consultation, which was higher than other practices. I was promised a treatment plan, but unlike other orthodontic practices I was not given a refund when they decided braces were not for me. A total waste of money, but worse than that was the awful stress they put me under. They were the most horrible people I've ever encountered for a paid service. I'd advise anyone to run a mile from this nasty practice, if they're looking to be treated like human beings instead of cattle. Maybe the other practices under this brand are nice, but the Albion one in Brighton is absolutely terrible.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this dentist he was extremely rough with my mouth, making the whole process uncomfortable and very painful my face was swollen and no antibiotics was prescribed, there was little regard for my comfort Good dental care should involve a level of gentleness and concern for the patient’s well-being, but unfortunately, that was not my experience here. Negative experience: Have been at this practice for 15 years and have been generally happy, however the consistent change of staff is a concern, on my recent visit I was greeted by the dental assistant with an horrendous stench of B.O ! once inside the room this smell was incredibly strong which was Discusting to bare, I very nearly had to end my check up. In an hygienic surgery this shouldn’t be what a patient has to be experience.

Fantastic experience: I booked an emergency dental appt this morning (Saturday) & have literally just walked out. (13:50) My back tooth was growing into the bone & causing me severe pain. I just wanted to rip my face off. The two workers there were absolutely fantastic. So friendly, approachable & we had a laugh too. The two receptionists were also really friendly. He extracted my tooth within 10 seconds. Im very needle phobic but he didn't hurt me at all. I'd recommend them all day long. Thank you so much for taking the pain away.

Fantastic experience: The reception staff are friendly, and all the dentists and hygienists I have encountered there over the years are great too. I recently had a wisdom tooth extraction and root canal on the same day, not an enjoyable experience (i.e. terrifying!) for a nervous patient like me, but Sohrab and his team were very kind and patient as usual, Sohrab put some music on for me which helped A LOT.

Negative experience: I have been a patient of Mr Ghadimi, since 2017 at Quality Dental Group, Albion Dental, Brighton. I normally paid whatever I was asked after my treatment with no detailed information. Recently, I got suspicious when an attempt to charge me £185 twice for a tiny repair on a filling, which took about five minutes, was made. I asked to see the recent transactions on my account and was shocked to discover I had been charged new patient and missed appointment fees in the last few months despite having funds on account. (There was a gap between appointments due to covid and personal circumstances.) Some of the overpayments were refunded only when I had waited more than three weeks, and informed the manager I was about to file a claim at Small Claims Court. To date, the attempt to take a second payment for the same filling remains unanswered making it impossible for me to continue with my treatment. I find this very unethical. I was asked to pay upfront (including the money I had already paid) for any future treatment. This meant that I had to pay twice for the same filling before I can book an appointment. The issue remains unresolved despite promises. The practice does not have a manager who comes close to addressing the problem.

Fantastic experience: Recently had to have a back molar extracted, so I was very nervous but Rajan and the lovely dental nurse were so patient, thoughtful and talked me through what would be happening and alleviating any fears I had. It was a lot less difficult than I imagined it would be and I can't fault the service from booking in with the lovely receptionists right through to the extraction itself and clear aftercare info! Positive experience: The dentist I saw was lovely and gave me good advice. I was told in a few years I may need my fillings re done but not pushed to have them done. Hygienist recommended but not pushed. I wish I could only pay a small percentage for the hygienist as I'm only ever in there 10 mins not the whole 45 for £70. Which unfortunately is just to much money but on the whole a lovely friendly dental practice that has got better over the years. I would have given it 5 stars If there was a chance to pay for a 15 min hygienist session as I've never needed longer!

Fantastic experience: From the cheerful reception staff, to the caring dental nurses, and of course the dentists themselves, Albion Dental has a great patient-centred approach. As someone who really doesn't enjoy the dentist, I always felt as though I was in very safe hands. Negative experience: After spending thousands of pounds with this dentist they wouldn't allow me cancel an appointment without paying as I was literally minutes under the 24 hour deadline. If money if no object and you like the corporate treatment they are fine I guess. Not quite as good as my NHS dentist, less helpful and infinitely more expensive.

Positive experience: Undergoing significant remodelling works , so access to treatment rooms was somewhat restricted. Staff collected clients from the temporary reception and took them up in the old lift. Treatment was fine, roughly on-time and ok generally. No tissues provided and usual bib was just a piece of paper which kept falling off my chest. . Reception staff were seen to flag up with two clients, payments which they couldn’t account for. Whilst the amounts were not massive, they were explained without evidence as possibly underpayments for works up to four years ago. If that was the case why weren’t they noticed at the previous visit. My additional payment was not explained to my satisfaction. I paid it but it was evidence of some sloppy administration in the past. Hoping my next visit is more confidence boosting and that environment fully complete.

Negative experience: The most incompetent admin staff ever and this includes the practice manager. My appointment was cancelled on the day it was scheduled and when I expressed that it was unfair in the fact that had I cancelled on the day I would have lost my deposit but it was OK fornthe surgery to do it. The response was "That's our policy" and when I pressed the issue I was told "I don't ask questions I just doing what I'm told". So I attend the surgery for another appointment and after waiting over 20 minutes past my schedule visit I asked if I could reschedule for another time due to having another appointment I needed to attend. To my disbelief I was told I could reschedule however I would lose my deposit for this appointment!!! Again when I questioned how it was ok for the surgery to cancel my appointment and disregard my time and prior commitments I was again told "Thats our policy". I spoke to the dentist himself who said had the receptionist asked him he would have glady rebooked without losing my deposit as he was running behind and this would allow uim to catch. Win/win but these staff just keep parroting "That's our policy" like the brain dead morons they are

Fantastic experience: Thank you SO MUCH to everyone at Albion - especially wonderful dentist Nina and the lovely Emma at reception - for taking such good care of me this week. I was a bit scared of my first root canal and they took their time to make sure it wasn't rushed or painful. Can't recommend this dental clinic enough!

Negative experience: The marketing strategies they use to meet their business objectives and the constant harassment I get by post, email and phone calls to push me to book more appointments and spend more money, make me feel more like a customer and not like a patient. I am now expecting an other phone call (like the one I received 6 months) to have a nice, comforting chat and ask me to remove my review.
