Negative experience: I registered here as an NHS patient over a week ago after not being able to find an NHS dentist for years. Since registering I have developed an awful toothache but thought it’s okay I have a dentist now WRONG! I called in to try and get an appointment to be told because I haven’t been in before I will have to pay for everything privately despite being registered as an NHS patient to be honest I think that is a massive con taking on NHS patients and they haven’t had the chance to have a check up before an issue arises they are expected to pay private prices. My biggest issue was how rude and confrontational the receptionist when I’m already on the verge of tears about how much pain I am in. She really needs to be taught about compassion and care towards patients the manor in which she spoke to me was completely unacceptable.

Positive experience: I have been a patient at Gelix in Cirencester for a while . It’s easy to get an appointment mainly because they have a number of dentist. The dentist I saw was professional and competent as was the Oral Hygienist who cleaned and polished my teeth . In the past I have needed my x rays emailed to me me which they were also happy to do.

Positive experience: As someone who hadn't been to the dentist in a longtime. The staff at Genix did a very good job putting me at ease.Dentistry has moved on since my last visit it to a dentist and they were able to help me at a very reasonable price. I will be visiting regularly from now on.

Fantastic experience: We recently enrolled with Genix Healthcare Dental Clinic and have found them to be highly professional, caring and efficient. The whole team from the dentists, nurses and reception staff provide an excellent service throughout. I would highly recommend them.

Negative experience: 13May 2024, antibiotics for pain. 19 June 2024 more antibiotics for pain.7 August 2024 extraction.15 November 2024, Consoltaion for what I thought was a bridge.22 November 2024 paid for what turned out to be false teeth. (I HAD EXPRESSED THAT I DID NOT WANT FALSE TEETH) 9 December fitted falce plate. I felt like coco the clown with teeth from a joke shop.30 December 2024,I told dentist not at all happy, not what was originally discussed, he filed down the plate and sent me on my way.The teeth went in the bin, I have waisted too much money and too much time, Nobody listened to what I wanted. I have now found a dentist who listened to what I wanted and I now have the bridge I was expecting.

Negative experience: I had my first check up as a new NHS patient. After a quick check of my teeth, I was told he didn't have time to my X-rays on this appointment and asked if I had question, well yes to which I asked what work was required, his response was we discuss on your next appointment. So I paid my check up fee and now need to pay another check up fee to discuss future treatment. I did not receive the band 1 treatment at all. I left feeling very upset! Please note this appointment was with Ziach which oddly enough I have found another review mentioning this man!

Negative experience: Beware these are cowboys, scamming customers. I booked a hygienist, confirmed the price when booking, however when I arrived for the appointment, the price suddenly increased to £82 instead of the £55 quoted prior to my appointment. A hefty increase.. I am now fighting to get my deposit returned. Avoid, unless you want to be ripped off.

I struggled to find an NHS dentist for years but they took me on and have done far more than I expected and from any surgery I have belonged to before. I absolutely give them a 10 out of 10 review! Did work 2 days after check up and much less pain than I feared. Teeth just feel normal now I don't have to avoid areas and pleased decay under filling was spotted and removed before I knew it was there. Very happy with him.

Positive experience: I recently had by teeth scaled and polished by the hygienist. It was quite painful and somewhat uncomfortable, but my teeth are very close together.

Negative experience: Today I went to a first consultation that they offered me free of charge to be informed about the possibility of a dental implant that I need. I was assisted by two nurses who informed me about the prices and process of this treatment...waiting time between visits, etc. So far so good, they told me that they were not dentists that there had been a cancellation of a visit an hour later with the dentist and if I wanted to see him, that the visit would last 30 minutes and I have to pay 30 pounds in advace then I said yes... They made me pay in advance the 75 pounds , I don't understand why because I was there waiting, when I came in he had a look at my tooth where I had the problem... just a 5 second look, not an oral exam or any evaluation , he explained the same thing to me as the nurse did in three minutes, thing which he repeated three times and in 9 minutes we had finished... of course told him that I would think about it before taking a decision only to be polite a go because someone who could charged me 75 pounds for telling me what the nurses already explained to me and I can find out online or on YouTube, is not a situation that makes you trust .I have felt scammed to be honest.

Fantastic experience: Mr ziach my dentist at genix dentist is absolutely amazing I have a fear of the dentist. But his calming friendly manner puts you at ease. I had two teeth taken out. He reassured me through out. The procedure I would highly recommend him and practice

Positive experience: Good dentist. Expensive as they all are. Even the prescription was more expensive than an NHS one. How have we come to this. Teeth are part of our overall health predicament yet somehow a line has been drawn between dentistry and all other health aspects . I find it hard to understand. Abscesses can lead to major health problems. Fortunately I did have money in the bank to pay for the treatment. But that’s not always guaranteed given the price of basics these days. I was told that I need a lot of ongoing work which I know to be the case . But how to pay for it? It’s worrying to think I’ll be firefighting abscesses with any biotic medication until my body becomes resistant to them. Then what. I’m going to enquire about payment plans

Fantastic experience: Have been with Genix for some years now and seldom have to wait long to see the dentist. My dentist is very efficient and keeps me well informed as to my dental care and X-rays are taken if necessary. There is a public car park within easy walking distance - about 2 minutes - and easily accessible from the centre of Cirencester.

Fantastic experience: I'm an NHS patient with Genix, and they are so helpful. I've had some problems with my molars as I'm getting on a bit, and Genix have dropped everything and booked me at short notice when I needed some immediate care. Very professional, friendly with clean and bright premises. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: I was VERY nervous going in to see the dentist, but Dr Ray explained every little thing and gave me the option to break down the treatment into smaller parts more manageable for me. I have severe arthritis in my jaw, and opening my mouth for a longer time is very painful, but she made me feel able to stop her for breaks to rest my jaw, and we managed to get a large filling done. Dr Ray was very kind and patient, and explained everything. I didn't feel rushed or pressured at all. Very glad to have had her for my appointment. (I didn't know her and it was the first time I had been to her)

Positive experience: I would recommend Genix in Cirencester for dental care. Receptionists are friendly and helpful. Teeth scanning nurse Ana Maria was informative and clear about the purpose of the scan and the hygienist did a thorough job. Maybe Genix could advertise their annual packages more which could be financially advantageous to patients.

Negative experience: My partner was so say referred to oral maxillo facial in Gloucester in May for a tooth extraction yet they still have no record of this. Four month of thinking he was on the waiting list and back to square one!

Fantastic experience: Tomasz was just what I needed after a weekend full of pain. He gave me confidence in my treatment plan and even suggested probiotics to help whilst taking antibiotics. I left looking forward to my next appointment, which will be at least 4 extractions. As always the reception staff exceeded all expectation and genuinely care for their patients.

Fantastic experience: This is such a friendly and helpful practice. The reception staff are always lovely, they are patient and helpful with finding appointment times. My particular dentist, who I have now seen several times for a painful tooth problem is so efficient and shows a caring approach to patients. He explains what is going to happen ( not always appreciated )and is always alert to the need for the right amount of pain relief. I can recommend the practice wholeheartedly.

Fantastic experience: It was a really pleasant experience and my daughter really loves and happy with the treatment. We are new to UK and my daughter was really scared of dental check up. Now she is not thanks to Dr Mara Nikolova. Exceptional service. And we are impressed. Really helpful and kind.

Negative experience: Make sure that you pay for enough parking as they ran 20 minutes late, to then have a check up with the dentist that only lasted 5 minutes. Within that time he pushed for me to get an unnecessary filling, didn't do a scale and polish as this is no longer included in cost of NHS check up, so he also told me to visit the hygienist at an additional cost. Having visited annually for the last 10 years he told me to come back in 6 months. I feel that this practice has become money grabbing!

On going to the practice to collect the script for the antibiotics, the dentist took time to discuss the problem & then very kindly fitted me in immediately to apply a further dressing. Negative experience: Not a great experience unfortunately & always been good in the past. There was confusion over my check up which they thought was a hygienist appointment & receptionist made out it was my error & was generally abrupt & rude. She admitted she wasn’t good at maths & seem to struggle with adjusting the amounts for the relevant treatments. It was just overall unpleasant and hard work.

Telephone waiting times have reduced and I find them always to be friendly and helpful and even more so in person. Negative experience: Awful. Wrote 2 prescriptions wrong. Extraction using a full 4 cartridges and more. Definitely gone downhill. Wasn't like this in Helens time. Avoid upstairs left hand door.

Fantastic experience: I have just had an emergency visit due to an infection behind my wisdom tooth, at the same time I received a check up, this was my first since the 2020 flu varient shutdown (not good) however my experience with Dr Tomasz and Eli the nurse was highly professional from diagnosis, treatment and execution of the procedure to chairside manner, highly recommended and many thanks.

Negative experience: 1 star I don’t know what service others are getting but I don’t seem to be getting it. We have visited now 3 times and each time my appointments have been wrong. I book 6 months in advance because I work in a school and they still can’t get it right. It started well first appointment scale and polish tooth check for £26.80 marvellous!! Second time they didn’t book me a scale and polish although requested at booking. I arrived to be told I needed a teeth clean, I confirmed this had been arranged and was told no not enough time!! The dentist argued my partner also had a check up only but no hygenist appointment, he came out the room to speak to reception, who sent him to the for the tooth clean he had in fact booked and came back for his check up afterwards which is strange in itself, to be told no - he had missed the check up bizarrre! I complained, spoke to a new practice manager who apologised profusely and offered me a full hygienist appointment to the amount of £60 on my next appointment. I would point out at this stage that staff change every 6 months and I knew whoever this manager was then wouldn’t be there in 6 months time Staff turnover is terrible! Guess what, she wasn’t. This time I dealt with an extremely argumentative, ferocious lady who shouted me on the phone. This time where do I start…… They rang to cancel my partner’s hygiene appointment as she is on maternity leave, did they not know she was expecting then??? They so say changed it, then continued to send him messages with the wrong time so I rang them. Good job I checked as not changed, they managed to fit him in but made me feel like they were doing me a favour, again booked 6 months ago. They had not, after checking, booked in my free hygienist appointment although I obtained in writing from THAT manager it was booked in. They told me they could fit in a scale and polish and that was my compensation, so I was completely misled. I would highlight at this point for those that are not aware that according to NHS government website the nhs price is £26.80, this is to include a 10 minute check up and scale and polish. I have an ongoing issue with this dentist as they constitute a 2 mins appointment as a check up and if you want any form of tooth clean you must pay £60. This is daylight robbery. I think they are a cosmetic dentist who don’t like NHS patients. In the end arrived got a scale and polish for 10 mins not the 30 minute appointment I was promised or the compensation arranged, I have lost the will to argue with these people and feel let down. I still have not received my compensation and they are refusing my scale and polish again next time although I am fully entitled to ask for this as an nhs patient. I will continue to visit only as long as I have to. Poor service, rude staff, too many admin people on reception at one time who are not trained but nice clean building.

Fantastic experience: I contacted Genix by email late morning yesterday for advice about an inflamation of my gum and very quickly had a call back offering me an appointment just a few hours later. After X-rays and examination, Jonathan prescribed antibiotics as the first step to address the problem before deciding whether it might be necessary to remove the tooth. This was all quick, efficient and professional.

Fantastic experience: As usual, my appointment for checkup was on time; everything explained well. Also my recent appointment with the hygienist was also very good.

Positive experience: I had to wait for 40 mins for my appointment but I do understand that they are busy. Someone needs to tell people if their appointment is delayed. Once I got in to see the dentist I was in for about 10 mins then I was on my way. The staff there are polite but need to improve on telling their clients if their appointment is delayed

Negative experience: I’ve been to genix twice in the last two years. The first time was an emergency appointment and the dentist I saw was very nice and professional. The one star is just for that. My last appointment was a routine check up a few months ago which I paid for as a NHS patient. The experience I had during this check up with the dentist was so downright terrible that it has left me unable to go back to them despite having issues and pain. It was 9 am on a work day. My so called dentist turned up 25 minutes late, completely dishevelled with things falling out of her bag and hurried into the room. Initially I thought there’s no way that’s the dentist, that’s probably some student who’s turned up late and hungover for her work experience. To my horror, when my name was called, she did turn out to be the actual dentist. Ok no problem, I know we all have off days, I justified to myself. As I walked in the room, she had her phone out on the side playing some Jay z or something, which reminded me of walking up to the back of the school bus. Did not offer a single apology for the now 30 minute delay, rudely asked me whether this was a routine check up and whether I was paying for the appointment. She then carried out the most hurried check of my teeth some of which are severely decayed and need attention, and clearly just wanted to get me out of there. Did not offer any follow up treatment for my teeth which I am now further complications with. When I asked the dentist about an issue I have grinding my teeth at night her response was to “Google some exercises”. I mean, considering I am paying you for this I expect you to advise me on my issues? I don’t believe googling health issues is a great option especially for someone who has struggled with severe anxiety visiting the dentist which I made her aware of, my partner had essentially forced me and booked this appointment for me which I was grateful for. She also snapped at me due to my tongue moving while she put a cover on my tooth. Now I’m not some easily offended snowflake but I’ve had better experiences at the dentist in places most of you would consider literal 3rd world countries. I didn’t protest by this point I did not want her touching my teeth as I was scared of the consequences. Was the disdain I was treated with because we registered as NHS patients? I’m not sure. I know it wasn’t just me being sensitive as my partner who was a maxfacs nurse had her appointment straight after me and had a very similar experience, which marginally improved when the dentist was made aware that she had a slightly better idea of how this was supposed to work.

Negative experience: I went for a hygienist appointment during my working day & due to appointments running behind I was 25 minutes late going in which meant I was late back to work. I would have appreciated a call to say they were running behind as the lady infront was also late going in. I only just got back to my car in time before my parking ticket ran out as well. Made for a stressful experience sadly.

Fantastic experience: I found this Dental practice excellent. From the helpful and attentive reception staff to the excellent dentist that treated me. He took time to explain all aspects of his suggested treatment plan. It all made total sense. He made the effort to explore various options and together we decided on a route forward. I am really pleased with everything so far. I would highly recommend this practice.

Positive experience: My only problem was that I had to bring a baby with me and although the receptionist was very helpful it’s tricky having appointments upstairs.. also wear hearing aids and do find accents quite difficult. But on the whole my visit was fine

Your receptionist helped us with directions, as we were so lost. The dentist was patient and still saw me, even though we were 10 minutes late. We could use your disabled parking bay too. Negative experience: Two dentists at this clinic really need to work on their bedside manner. I am not going to mention their names as I am as I am taking legal and clinical advice. The last dentist didn't discuss options that are available on the NHS nor did discuss a treatment plan for other (clearly problem teeth) of which there are included NHS treatments. I will not be returning as I cannot trust the dentists I have already seen at this clinic. Added to this a filling I have just fell out in less than 24hrs.
