Negative experience: The dentist, Stephanie Blaine, broke my tooth and the practice - instead of taking control of the situation, apologising and repairing my tooth - allowed Stephanie Blaine to become histrionic in her defensiveness and gaslight. I would have accepted a repair and moved on but, they simply refused to be responsible and maintain a professional attitude, instead choosing to stonewall and abruptly throw me out of the practice. A complaint was registered with the Dental Association. In the interim, Stephanie covered her bases by registering at multiple other practices as an associate dentist with Langdale in Roundhay and the Street Lane Dental Practice (near Moortown Corner, LS17). They simply wiped their hands of the issue and allowed this fiasco to occur, instead of resolving the issue and retaining valuable custom. I also know of another member of staff who left because of their unprofessionalism. Good luck spinning the roulette wheel with this practice. They may be all smiles and polite at the outset but, as we quickly found out long term loyalty, civility and punctuality are disregarded and you’re out unexpectedly with hostility being their first reaction if ‘they’ make a mistake. It pays to research carefully before joining a practice. This practice would have received zero stars from us but, that was not an option.

Fantastic experience: I have been a Jem for 20 plus years and my children are there now also. Recently, after a 111 appointment and antibiotics, I needed an emergency appointment for one of my children due to an abscess. They managed to get her an appointment 3 days later on a Saturday for a review and even managed to book her in an hour later for the tooth to be taken out. Every member of staff were wonderful. From the first receptionist, who booked the appointment and talked to me about what would happen. The 2nd receptionist on the day of the appointment and both of the dentists we saw.

Positive experience: We have been with this practice for the last 23 years. But today we had the worst experience so far; my son’s appointment was at 9.30am. They were stuck on the way to surgery due to traffic. I called and informed the surgery regarding that but I was treated rudely by a receptionist, whose name was Alyssa. My family got there at 9.34am and although we were told there was a 5 minute leeway, a couple of the ladies at the reception desk treated them rudely beyond words. Very reluctantly, they allowed us to be seen by the dentist, who herself was very nice and courteous.

Fantastic experience: Massive thank you to Khadeeja for everything she did today. Told her I was anxious going in and she treated me with the best care I’ve ever received medically. Explained every step of her process, allowed breaks in between, and was generally lovely and professional all the way through. Highly recommend !!

Negative experience: I went to this office 10 days ago for a tooth extraction and it was not a pleasant one, I don't want to offend them, but it was pathetic, it was a terrible experience. I recommend that as a medical assistant, when you want to go to a dental office, be very informative before going there.

Negative experience: Appointment cancelled when I got to dentist due to ‘system issues’ but was told they can book me in for 10:45 same day. When I went to the appointment I found out I had been given an emergency appointment which was a waste as I have been waiting for a filling. I wasn’t told it was as an emergency appointment. Now waiting another week and dealing with pain until my next appointment.

The team allows the patient to discuss any concerns. The staff and the dentist is amazing. They take time care and listen to what you may be troubling you regarding cosmetics to you teeth.

Fantastic experience: I've been with Jem Dental for some time now and have always had a good professional service. Saturday 12th October was no exception. My dentist was Asif Khan and his assistant was Becky. They were both excellent with me, very friendly and very professional. I think it's important for a lot of people who visit the dentist that they are made to feel at ease and comfortable. Asif and Becky certainly did that. The lady on reception who unfortunately I can't remember the name of was lovely and helpful too. A great experience once again.
