Negative experience: A very interesting check up for a loose front crown that ended with a quote for £2600 and an extensive dental procedure plan. I went for a second opinion at a very highly regarded Practice and ended up paying £200. That work was carried out very quickly and without fuss. I certainly won’t be returning to this business in the future

Negative experience: I have been registered with this dental practice for some time. Due to moving house and needing urgent treatment, I went to another dentist closer to my new address for some dental work. However, I still have ongoing problems, so I contacted my original practice for help. They initially gave me an appointment but then called back to cancel it and refused to see me as a patient because I went to another clinic. While dental practices can choose which private patients they accept or continue to treat, whether it’s right depends on their values and how they treat patient relationships. I personally found it disappointing and unprofessional. Patients should not be penalised for seeking treatment elsewhere when needed.

Fantastic experience: Great service and very fast to be seen

Negative experience: They are RUDE, the moment I went in this Dentist the reception snapped at me, was handing out everyone NHS forms, but when i ask, she snapped. The will charge almost £60 for examination, then add as many xrays to the invoice as possible was no explanation of the cost, the dentist will have no manners, go through a treatment plan and add as much work whether needed or not, gave me a huge quote for the works, when I go to ask the receptionist about a credit plan the rude women snapped at me again, saying as I had the examination and xrays I can't have finance for anything, which os confusing because how would I know what to finance, I went ahead with 4 temp fillings, the money grabbing dentist decided to tell me whilst I had metal in mouth he's going to do a 5th, couldn't really talk, I then gey charged an additional £150, £710 in total, Avoid this dentist!

Negative experience: Penny pot dental it’s only purpose in life is to extract money from its customers forcing you to pay for an examination despite seeing the hygienists every 3months and knowing that there are no problems with teeth yet forced to pay 95£ for a completely unnecessary examination and then quoting over 700£ £ for dental work that was not required go elsewhere

Positive experience: I had a very good experience the dentist is very helpful and considerate, always answers any questions. Very polite and professional. The only letdown is the fact you cannot gain any internet at Hawkinge. It would be really helpful whilst waiting to see my dentist. This would enable myself or others to use the internet. I really do not see this a big ask in today’s society. at the moment you cannot gain any signal. I feel this would be a step In the right direction as a business.

Negative experience: Have a peculiar policy of kicking out children who fail to turn up to appointments 3 times. One of my children is on the first “strike” because she had tonsillitis and a 38.5 fever. We apparently made the mistake of not leaving a message on the Sunday, and stupidly trying to call before 9am on the Monday.

Fantastic experience: Very please with the service today called up 1st thing this morning in pain with a toothache I was fortunate to get an appointment for late afternoon that I was extremely happy with I then got a call from the receptionist to say they had a earlier appointment as had a cancellation that was fantastic service 2 hours earlier and 2 hours quicker of being out of pain . I was seen on time couldn’t of been happier fantastic customer service x

Negative experience: Despite my entire family being based here and having been a patient for over 7 years, I have been blocked from being a patient. There is no way of challenging the decision and the manager clearly enjoys the power. When asked about the process of reviewing the decision, she basically said don’t bother as she is the one who decides! Completely inconvenient that and not sure how I am expected to take my children now. Additionally rude and obnoxious receptionist and despite a complaint, no way of being updated about it. They told me to write to grovel for my space and delete doing so would not allow me back on. They say they take complaints seriously but their policy isn’t even followed. The manger appears to like the title and the power trip. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: A rare visit to the hygenist, pre pandemic. Very anxious about visiting anyway. I was put at ease by the hygenist and a liberal coating of numbing gel applied to my gums really helped me to feel zero pain (really bloody surprised at that) during the ultrasonic treatment. Not been the case in the past. Back again in 4 months...

Fantastic experience: Not the usual thing that I'd review, but it's worth doing for Pennypot. I use both the hygienist & a dentist, and they are both excellent. The service is really good as well. Reminders are sent, appointments always available (sometimes need to wait a little) and staff are always pleasant. It's such a relief to have a great dentists to go to in the current climate.

Fantastic experience: My experience today was good. I was seen on time and greeted by my dentist. The reception team are professional and friendly. The only complaint I have is the price of a check up which was £57 for less than 10 minutes

This was my first appointment with Inga and she is by far the best and most thorough I've ever had. She was able to remove every bit of staining. Thanks to her, I'm going to have a very confident smile for my wedding. Thank you so much Inga!

When I told her my problem she advised me to go asap and the wonderful Dr Sabu realised I needed an extraction which he managed to do straight away. He is very reassuring (I am a nervous patient!) and I count myself extremely lucky to have such a competent and caring dental surgeon. Well done to all the team.

Fantastic experience: My dental journey began 20 years ago, an early negative experience made me hesitant about dental care for two decades, and I avoided it until facing unavoidable issues. I discovered Dr. Sabu after Harley Street dentists were unable to manage two deep cavities without recommending crowns or root canals. He skillfully treated these complex cavities, impressing other dental specialists I visited in London for additional treatments. He also perfectly managed two root canals that had been left incomplete by previous dentists, fully restoring my teeth. Each visit reaffirmed the high level of care he provides. Negative experience: Having previously, both been regular private BUPA patients and having little or no dental problems identified. My husband and I, needed to find a new dentist when they closed in Folkestone. We registered with the local Pennypot dentist. As soon as we walked in and were examined by the dentist (Saby Sarasan), the price tag rose and rose. The teeth accepted by BUPA as fine some 6 months earlier, now needed 2 x crowns, 1 x removal, 1 x filling, a denture!! My opinion is that they practice aggressive dentistry, and, on potentially stable teeth, in order for patients to part with their money. We have decided to return to BUPA and travel to Canterbury for treatment instead.

Fantastic experience: I saw the hygienist today for my usual 6 monthly clean. I usually dread the lead up to this day as I’ve been so many times before and it’s never the nicest of experiences, but since Niyas has started working there he manages to clean my wonky overlapping teeth without any pain at all. Fantastic experience: Friendly, efficient staff who explain everything calmly and in detail. An an NHS patient it was explained what can and cannot be done on the NHS and I am disappointed that a considerable number of procedures can only be done under private arrangements. This is o fault of the practise as I find them quite excellent and and they were kind enough to explain all the detail.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service I received from this dental practice. They provided no extra help for neurodiverse people regarding appointment reminders and had no specific equality and diversity policies around the subject. Not acceptable in this day and age. There reply states that they "take these matters very seriously" but that couldn't be further from the truth as my correspondence to them shows. It's also very concerning that they don't have any record of me as a patient as by law they should be holding on to patient records for 8+ years.

Fantastic experience: I went for a routine check up at Hawkinge on 14th October and while I was waiting for my turn I heard the young receptionist answering the phone. Unfortunately I did not get her name but her manner was exemplary so polite attention to detail nothing was too much bother. When off the phone talking to her colleague there was only respect for patients between them. Now this day and age it was so refreshing to witness it is not only good for the caller but relaxing for those awaiting treatment putting them at ease. My own treatment was conducted in a friendly professional manner and once again excellent. When paying and booking next appointment same attitudes. I personally cannot speak too highly of this practice, yes in the past it was not always so but now they have perfected it please keep the same staff. John
